The problem lies in the fact it looks like a physical item will ship, thats why i ordered. I think ebay will side with buyer.

I just messaged asking for a refund and they did it straight away without replying. Guess they are relying on the few who don't mind its not physical.

I'm not sure how relevant those rules are, as eBay and PayPal split up recently. PayPal's own rules say nothing about excluding digital content.

It's not actually listed as physical is it, its just not mentioned.

I think the listing is genuine anyway as the seller has a massive feedback amount, I was initially responding to the member who just assumed because it was an Ebay purchase he was automatically covered when you may be not.

In Paypal it looks as though you have been charged full price but click on the actual payment invoice and it shows the payment you will pay and the deducted price with the code :wink:

I'm glad I saw your post. Ebay email confirmation shows deduction of the discount but the Paypal one doesn't. Most odd.
... just checked. Paypal have formatted the transaction detail most bizarrely for the transaction and showed the total amount excluding discount but document you paying for part of it with a free code; not seen that before but I feel a bit happier :smiley:

Ordered mine last night about 9.30 pm and got the code this morning from ebay message rather than email, logged into my xbox to input the code and had a message for 3 free games if I joined Gold (cannot remember the names though).

Got my code now, after sending a message to them via eBay, they sent me details for a website where I could enter the some details to get access to it (no personal information). Code works fine on my xbox.

Interestingly, they've just contacted me asking if they can send it via an email. I can't give them my email address via eBay messages so have asked them to send it though eBay messages...

Edit: as above, now sent a link to the site, filled in details, hey presto, a pic of a grubby looking key - that works!

As mentioned, above, I hadn't had any emails but checked the 'my ebay' site. THey also asked if it was OK to email the message so I just said yes and within ten minutes they had responded with a link to a site to get my code, which redeemed perfectly.
