A little bit further up the scale of smart watch knock-offs if you want to try one with a fairly decent spec and nice looking design but you don't want to, or can't afford to, pay out "a little more" for one of the newer models like the LG or the Motorola or, of course, re-mortgage your house for the Apple Watch.

Hi. I've just ordered one but I'm a little stumped as to what app to download for it? Can anyone clarify this for me

That's good to know, cheers. I suppose if my pebble time ever goes pear shaped that i might have a decent backup option then

Yes so far impressed, does alerts, can dial and speaker for calls, good quality. Has an alarm function. Thats about all I need really. Some other functions like sleep but they are very "manual" so i will leave them. Build is also very good.

Cool feature! I am a fan of the Pebble series, I would probably have gone for one of those had this not caught my eye, at the end of the day even if its not great its a third of the price of the cheapest branded one. Should be interesting to see how it compares, the videos look pretty decent build quality.

that's interesting to know, thanks. they've recently introduced a "stand by" feature on the pebble watches which drops the bluetooth connection if the watch is stationary for more than 30 minutes to conserve power. it picks it back up again if you pick the watch up, but it works really well - i got 8 days usage from my last charge.

Only experience I've had is Apple watch, it illuminates as soon as you glance at the display (by turning the wrist toward you) which works really well and conserves its (poor) battery.

do any of these smart watches actualy display the time ALL the time?
call me odd but when i look down at my watch, i like to see the time displayed. I dont want to have to tap it or press a button. i might as well just grab my phone out of my pocket

I can't speak for the apple watch as i've never used one, but the pebble time is 'always on' due to the e-paper display. I'm like you - i want to look at my wrist and see the time in front of me.
a lot of the smartwatches at this level do often require a button press to display the time.

tempted to buy one just as an excuse to make a whole lot of 'my wang seeing a lot of wrist action' type jokes....

So OP do actually own this watch?
Can you give us some pros and cons?

I don't actually own one, no. I've got a Pebble Time but I do have a passing interest in smart watches and this seemed like a decent step up from the batch of £10-£13 pound ones that are doing the rounds.
Any watch that has a "Wang" function has to be a winner though

Don't waste your dosh. If it's anything like the previous model it's useless. Will not work with any Google fit type apps.

I really want to know what the 'Wang' function does. Heat though

Genuinely interested in this, any idea if it would pair with the Google Fit app?
