very customer service stood their ground and only sent the £2.00.
Groupon were very helpful and refunded the £20.00 - they just wanted e-mail proof from Very that very were not going to refund the voucher.
i've checked the £20.00 in account...
case closed....not a very positive customer experience..but at least got the money back (albeit game delivered few days later from other retailer and hours of time wasted with very poor customer service)

latest pathetic 'cop out' pass the buck reply received from Very today
(only received £2.00 so far)
anyone received a credit from Very or refund from Groupon to cover the voucher / £40?

The only way to possibly get it is probably to fight for it. Contact Very and stay polite, make your point clear and stand your ground on something being done if they don't offer a solution.
As the voucher was via another site they may well make excuses but I highly doubt Groupon will refund now for that, although you could always try but I imagine you're more likely to get somewhere with Very.
They would have to credit your account, I imagine, as the system is unlikely to allow a refund over the amount that was paid. Perhaps you could try and get them to deliver the game again, either with a new shipping label or to another address. Probably easier for them to do that and less costly.

Very had refunded the £40 pound when they post the item on 10 May after this item got returned to them (like most of us) and now I am wondering how I am going to get my £20 back which I pay to groupon for the very voucher
This is so annoying
Did any one else got the full refund like £62 ??
GamingDevil
17 May 16#197
Oh dear. As far as the system is concerned that is a full refund though. Have you had the £40 back and if so is it part of the same transaction? If not, you could open a Paypal case. I'd contact Very first though and see what they say. Hope you get it resolved. What a mess they've created!

what a disaster....received email that would get full refund...checked transaction history says
16 May 2016 REFUND TO PAYPAL £42.00 -
so checked paypal but only £2.00 credited
IMHO This is the worse customer service i have ever experienced and somehow feels like a throwback to the 80's in communist countries...

They were absolutely hopeless with mine as well. I followed it via the tracker to the store. Went on the way home from work and they refused to give me it without a code which very hadn't supplied.
Phoned very the next day and was told they don't supply confirmation codes for games. No email comms from them whatsoever that it had been dispatched, arrived in store etc etc. Only way I knew it was there was because I tracked it myself.
Returned to the shop the next day and they had to phone collect+. All sorted now but never again.
Complaint going in. Sorry to everyone who has had problems. It's worked semi ok for me but as I said never ever again

I got credited the £40 as I should have because that was the deal. They did it automatically on the day of release. Should be the case for everyone. I got the game thankfully so no refund.
If they already credited you they may have problems with refunds (or they'll just refund the £2, leaving you £20 down) and it could be causing confusion which is why they want you to call back in a few days, but I imagine they have to refund the same way you paid which will be why they can't give you a cheque.
hypa3000
12 May 16#191
yes thats what they suggested to me, unfortunately the C+ store let yodel take the game straight back on day of delivery so been uphill struggle from there...
but yeah, anyone who still has the parcel at the C+ store and the 7 digit reference (from Very) should call C+ customer services while in the shop with the 7 character reference...

12 May 16#190
has anyone actually been able to get the full £40 back from very?
personally just got off phone from another 45 mins with Very....trying to get a refund for full amount by cheque, but they couldn't....
not very clear as firstly they wanted to refund / credit back to Very account, then i would have needed to call up again in 3-5 days for them to transfer the credit £40 / £2?? back to my account (paypal?? / card not registered?)
anyway, while on phone with Very received an e-mail from Very CS stating its already being returned now so will have to wait 14 days for refund when they receive it....
the assistant didn't know this yet, so on the phone was kind enough to call Yodel depot and said apparently it was definitely too late to redeliver at this stage...bummer....
given up completely now...very much a disaster...will just have to wait 14 days and see what happens...
...just ordered UC4 via Amazon prime now (fortunately in the London area today) should get copy this evening for £32.00 with code from here 30primenow

Got my code from Very but got error in collect+ store. Contacted very they said we only have one code, asked me to contact collect+ again.
Collect+ said phone them while physically in store so they can talk to shopkeeper and me on same call. Did that and got the game. Result.

So Very will only give me £2 delivery money back then I will have to chase groupon for this 7 months old expired promotion for getting my £40 back, Bless the person who put this deal on hotukdeals
We can leave review about our bad experience with Very on following sites
yes exactly...won't be ordering any pre-orders (or anything else) from very in a hurry....
still waiting for an update / game to be redelivered to C+ store.....but no updates in tracking since 10th....question is how much we get refunded...i think originally they were going to offer the full £42 + difference in price...but not sure about next day delivery....

This is last time I buy anything from Very they are such a rubbish company, now I had been told that my order is send back to shop due to labeling issue and it will be cancelled, also asking me if i want it again I need to re-order it again through their web site
(currently the item is priced at 48.99)

Saw on yodel tracking that it was delivered yesterday, went to pick it up thinking I could use the tracking number or just present ID but no they won't give it to me. Try contacting collect+, yodel and very who are fairly helpful on Twitter and give me the barcode number. Go in today and they've returned the bloody thing even though they were rung by collect+. Contacted very on Twitter who confirmed I will get a refund, hopefully it's for the full £42 paid on PayPal as I've bought it off amazon now to be delivered tomorrow.
Bit disappointing and not surprised considering its yodel/very, can't complain too much if it still ends up costing me £20
GamingDevil
11 May 16#183
They know there's an issue. You'd think they'd sort it asap and in the same way, but seems not. They're just causing more hassle for everyone.
Possibly. Although they state the labels are old I guess it depends whether it's old as in length of time or old as in old design/barcode/references/system. If the first then why allow them to order so far in advance knowing they won't register by then? If the second it's possible they don't change them often so Very didn't expect it and usually they'd have no issues. Can't imagine these are the only orders to be messed up though.
Either way it's silly to order them so far in advance. They must have changed the shipping date at some point, in which case you'd think it would have all been updated quite recently.
mark9412
11 May 16#182
Surely Very must have this issue with every pre-order that's ordered a few months early then?
hypa3000
11 May 16#181
yea exactly....that's what i'm wondering especially if payment for £2.00 via paypal etc.
here's my update, very said parcel would be redelivered to store, tracking details not been updated all day, parcel still at depot...just been in webchat with Yodel, they can't do much and not received contact from sender yet...
so now written to Very (again):
GamingDevil
11 May 16#180
Oh dear :disappointed:
Wonder how they'll deal with refunds as the point of this deal is that they credit back £40 of what you pay and then you're only paying the £20 for the voucher and extra £2. Not fair if people end up £20 down when they could resolve the issue so people have the game.

I got a phone call earlier from Very telling me they had a code, but it was the same one as before. Useless. Phoned up the shop and they said I could collect. It took some time, a guy at the shop still wanted to put in a code and he wasn't budging on, but eventually got told by someone else to write down my details and finally got my parcel
I hope everyone else manages to get theirs too.
No problem. Hope the code works for you!
An argument between the depot and warehouse? lol. Very odd. Looks like they don't know what to do with it, have you contacted them?

I contacted very on line and they gave me a collection reference to quote . Guy at the shop had already been contacted about the order so it was an easy collection.
GamingDevil
11 May 16#170
A friendly person willing to do something they shouldn't. Technically, stupid as it is in this situation, they're not allowed to hand over parcels without the customer giving a reference number. I have it printed in black and white and the guy refused to hand it over based on that and kept repeating that he needed the reference. Nothing was going to change that.
mrbaba
11 May 16#169
Similar story to the people above, I had an email from Very and the tracking info from Yodel.
They weren't going to let me have the parcel at the Collect+ drop off location, as I didn't have the collect+ email or anything for them to scan.
Luckily someone else behind the desk asked for my full name and said "I saw that around here somewhere, ah here it is".
Not sure if that's much help, just have to get a friendly person behind the desk I guess.

My parcel is still at the shop. At some point I'm supposed to be able to pick it up. Just waiting for confirmation from Collect Plus as to when it's ok to do so. So yeah, the deal worked out and I'll have the game for £22 but it'll be at least a day late which is annoying.
Seems others are all being returned. The shop I went to appear to think Very/Collect Plus just failed to give the right reference though so they've kept it. Other shops have noticed the scanning issues. Your shop may still have it at the moment as it may not have been picked up so quick, but if it says returned it may have been put through the system to be returned asap.
hypa3000
10 May 16#167
so as long as you order the game somewhere for £40 that you have received (after originally paying £22) i guess the deal still worked out? albeit a day or two late?
personally just got this e-mail from Very Customer services:
although i wonder if the parcel is still at the shop....as according to Yodel the parcel has been returned to the local Depot and awaiting update from the sender (very)...
GamingDevil
10 May 16#166
I've had the £40 paid back to me so this was a great deal. Now I just need to actually get hold of the game that I paid £22 for.
hypa3000
10 May 16#165
apparently very has had a lot of these issues today...they were going to offer a refund and a new order would be delivered on Thursday (but i wasn't sure if i would have got £2.00 or £42.00) so will just have to wait for them to sort out the collection / barcode...
if someone can confirm if they get the full £42.00 back to their paypal / card then i would maybe take that option and re-order on amazon...
deeky
10 May 16#164
He said he thinks you might be a few months too late. This deal thread is 7 months old. It's only resurfaced because people pre-ordered a game that was released today.

10 May 16#163
i spoke to collectplus earlier, as stated here they said the retailer must have used an old shipping label and thats why it couldn't be scanned in store...(collect plus gave me the 7 character reference number but not sure if any use at this point) as Very say the item is still in the collectplus point, even though the tracking shows its already been returned to the yodel depot...awaiting redelivery instructions from the sender....
ie. contact very....been on phone 40mins so far with very and counting
hypa3000
10 May 16#162
im on the phone with very now...they are open till 11pm....either i wait 2 days for the track and trace department to sort it out...or they will possibly refund me (the full amount?? £42.00 ??) and then i would need to reorder tonigth with next day delivery?? anyone else had similar?

10 May 16#155
Seems Very used an old shipping label so it didn't register. Collect Plus will contact the shop and then me when I can collect. I imagine the issue is the same with your order.
Can't understand why they'd print shipping labels many months before shipping, especially as there's no guarantee with release dates and the shipping date has changed since then.

hypa3000 to mrbaba
10 May 16#154
out of interest how did you manage to collect it? did you have a barcode / reference? did the person in the shop scan the parcel before giving it to you?
GamingDevil
10 May 16#153
Barcode scanned on mine I believe, it's the reference thing I'm having issues with. They have to ask for a customer reference/barcode thing before they can hand it over. I've been told to contact Collect Plus so that they can tell the shopkeeper to hand it over. Maybe try contacting them too and see if they'll do the same?
I've seen my parcel, it was so so close to me as they pointed to the barcode...so frustrating! I've had 2 wasted trips. Wish I'd paid postage, would have been cheaper.
GamingDevil
10 May 16#151
Does anyone know what the barcode number is???
Verys system states Yodel which gives a number under track this parcel but under help it says parcel number, not barcode, and it has letters in.
Not sure if the actual parcel was sent by collect+ but they have a 7 character reference according to their help pages. The number on the tracking is longer than that.
Haven't had a single email confirming dispatch or that it's ready to collect to know if that has it on...
Edit: contacted live chat who gave me a totally different reference so hopefully that will work.
If anyone else doesn't get an email I'd recommend contacting Very before making the trip to make sure you have the barcode.
hypa3000 to GamingDevil
10 May 16#152
yep i didn't get any very updates eitherand i've just got back from collection point...
apparently according to shop assistant the parcel is getting returned to sender as the barcode doesn't work...
he said the barcode on the parcel would not scan properly and gave them an error code...
they didn't even show me the parcel but said he knew it was in a cd box type thing....
not sure what to do now....
hypa3000
10 May 16#149

GamingDevil to hypa3000

I had the same, mine was there. Haven't been able to collect though! Make sure you take ID and have the barcode!

10 May 16#145
Very will always deliver a game on release date and not before, even if it is dispatched early - the courier is told what day to deliver.
So if you want early you are best with somewhere like shopto as they get Tuesday releases to you by he sat before usually

I have recently been sent texts from Very saying there has been a delay in delivering my order. The only thing I have purchased from them is this game so I am surprised they are trying to deliver it when its not due yet. I managed to log into my Very account and no transactions show at all. I have the original email showing the £2 charge.

12 Jan 16#138
I've had 2 automated calls about there being a delay (with no actual mention of Uncharted 4 or even PS4 so wasn't until the end that I actually knew who the call was from!). They say some rubbish about trying to do their best or something.
The delay is because of the release date changing, nothing they've done or any attempt at shipping really early. It's obviously just a general message they use for all delayed items, regardless of reason.
Just checked my account, it's listed under recent orders.

to opt out of credit account chose pay with 'credit / debit card' - it's a small text link at bottom of page when registering a new account on the page where it mentions the benefits of a credit account(with big 3 pink text boxs)
it's easy to miss - so go back a page when they start asking about all your annual income etc.

Yeah, read about a few bad experiences, although same could be said for other companies. I'm just hoping they honour this otherwise I won't be happy lol. So far they do seem to be honouring the code and I've ever had an account before, not much they can get wrong about the product so...

No need to be sarcastic smart ass, the title of the post doesn't mention anything about having to PURCHASE a £40.00 Groupon voucher code so was under the impression that a code was issued on registering a new account. Sorted now anyways.

16 Sep 15#87
The voucher is limited to one per customer on Groupon and for new Very customers only (so a voucher can only be used once per account).
So do it twice you'd need two Groupon accounts and two new Very accounts. However, if they find out then you risk having your order cancelled or voucher cancelled and paying full price.

Ok just an FYI for anyone looking to cancel a pre-order and order something else e.g. a psn voucher.
After spending over an hour on Very live chat i think i have managed it. At first they were very reluctant and i was told my voucher would be forfeited by cancelling the order but after some perseverence he went away and cancelled it. I didnt quite understand what was going on (still dont tbh) but after the original order was cancelled i was told to place a new order with the psn voucher and pass on the order id which i did. I had to pay full price for the new order but i'm assured when the order arrives if i contact them again i will receive the £40 voucher in the form of credit which can then be refunded to my payment. I'm really not happy about how they've gone about it all, very dodgy but id rather this than chance waiting months for a so called pre-order have nothing turn up and be refused a refund by paypal because i'm out of the 60 day period. My advise if you havent bought this deal already dont do it!

Ok, you have to make sure the total amount comes at over £40 for the order to go to the last page. I ordered an 1 year PS+ card with click and collect (so zero postage costs) and it would not go to the last confirmation page where you put in your details. So, I had it delivered to my house instead (£3.99 postage costs) and I am now at the last confirmation page.

The Shop Direct group always get voted cold on here, the vouchers are fine as long as you're actually entitled to use them as per the T&C's (new customer) but in the past they've taken back money because of codes being used that people didn't qualify for. Not sure if that's changed now with the way they charge the full amount and then issue credits afterwards.

What a waste of time for all of us
is it just me or is someone having a laugh?!
(only received £2.00 so far)
anyone received a credit from Very or refund from Groupon to cover the voucher / £40?
As the voucher was via another site they may well make excuses but I highly doubt Groupon will refund now for that, although you could always try but I imagine you're more likely to get somewhere with Very.
They would have to credit your account, I imagine, as the system is unlikely to allow a refund over the amount that was paid. Perhaps you could try and get them to deliver the game again, either with a new shipping label or to another address. Probably easier for them to do that and less costly.
This is so annoying
Did any one else got the full refund like £62 ??
16 May 2016 REFUND TO PAYPAL £42.00 -
so checked paypal but only £2.00 credited
IMHO This is the worse customer service i have ever experienced and somehow feels like a throwback to the 80's in communist countries...
If they already credited you they may have problems with refunds (or they'll just refund the £2, leaving you £20 down) and it could be causing confusion which is why they want you to call back in a few days, but I imagine they have to refund the same way you paid which will be why they can't give you a cheque.
but yeah, anyone who still has the parcel at the C+ store and the 7 digit reference (from Very) should call C+ customer services while in the shop with the 7 character reference...
personally just got off phone from another 45 mins with Very....trying to get a refund for full amount by cheque, but they couldn't....
not very clear as firstly they wanted to refund / credit back to Very account, then i would have needed to call up again in 3-5 days for them to transfer the credit £40 / £2?? back to my account (paypal?? / card not registered?)
anyway, while on phone with Very received an e-mail from Very CS stating its already being returned now so will have to wait 14 days for refund when they receive it....
the assistant didn't know this yet, so on the phone was kind enough to call Yodel depot and said apparently it was definitely too late to redeliver at this stage...bummer....
given up completely now...very much a disaster...will just have to wait 14 days and see what happens...
...just ordered UC4 via Amazon prime now (fortunately in the London area today) should get copy this evening for £32.00 with code from here 30primenow
Collect+ said phone them while physically in store so they can talk to shopkeeper and me on same call. Did that and got the game. Result.

still waiting for an update / game to be redelivered to C+ store.....but no updates in tracking since 10th....question is how much we get refunded...i think originally they were going to offer the full £42 + difference in price...but not sure about next day delivery....
(currently the item is priced at 48.99)
Bit disappointing and not surprised considering its yodel/very, can't complain too much if it still ends up costing me £20
They must have changed the shipping date at some point, in which case you'd think it would have all been updated quite recently.
here's my update, very said parcel would be redelivered to store, tracking details not been updated all day, parcel still at depot...just been in webchat with Yodel, they can't do much and not received contact from sender yet...
so now written to Very (again):
Wonder how they'll deal with refunds as the point of this deal is that they credit back £40 of what you pay and then you're only paying the £20 for the voucher and extra £2. Not fair if people end up £20 down when they could resolve the issue so people have the game.
I hope everyone else manages to get theirs too.
No problem. Hope the code works for you!
An argument between the depot and warehouse? lol. Very odd. Looks like they don't know what to do with it, have you contacted them?

utter shambles is a big understatement unfortunately
They weren't going to let me have the parcel at the Collect+ drop off location, as I didn't have the collect+ email or anything for them to scan.
Luckily someone else behind the desk asked for my full name and said "I saw that around here somewhere, ah here it is".
Not sure if that's much help, just have to get a friendly person behind the desk I guess.
Seems others are all being returned. The shop I went to appear to think Very/Collect Plus just failed to give the right reference though so they've kept it. Other shops have noticed the scanning issues. Your shop may still have it at the moment as it may not have been picked up so quick, but if it says returned it may have been put through the system to be returned asap.
personally just got this e-mail from Very Customer services:
although i wonder if the parcel is still at the shop....as according to Yodel the parcel has been returned to the local Depot and awaiting update from the sender (very)...
if someone can confirm if they get the full £42.00 back to their paypal / card then i would maybe take that option and re-order on amazon...
Welcome to HUKD btw
ie. contact very....been on phone 40mins so far with very and counting
Can't understand why they'd print shipping labels many months before shipping, especially as there's no guarantee with release dates and the shipping date has changed since then.
All worked out OK in the end, thanks OP!
I've seen my parcel, it was so so close to me as they pointed to the barcode...so frustrating! I've had 2 wasted trips. Wish I'd paid postage, would have been cheaper.
If anyone else doesn't get an email I'd recommend contacting Very before making the trip to make sure you have the barcode.
apparently according to shop assistant the parcel is getting returned to sender as the barcode doesn't work...
he said the barcode on the parcel would not scan properly and gave them an error code...
they didn't even show me the parcel but said he knew it was in a cd box type thing....
not sure what to do now....
I didn't have the barcode so they wouldn't let me pick it up despite the fact the person appeared to be staring directly at the barcode on the package -_-
So if you want early you are best with somewhere like shopto as they get Tuesday releases to you by he sat before usually
"Good News!
We've despatched your order - if we've not already delivered it your order will be with you in the next few days. If when you ordered we told you we'd call you to arrange your delivery date, you can expect to hear from us shortly. "
although secretly was hoping for delivery today :disappointed:
Anyone else experienced this please? Thanks
The delay is because of the release date changing, nothing they've done or any attempt at shipping really early. It's obviously just a general message they use for all delayed items, regardless of reason.
Just checked my account, it's listed under recent orders.
I assume it's not worth lodging a claim considering a promotional code was used?
Also noticed it says purchase amount £35, not sure where it got that figure from lol.
Order confirmation just means that the order has been received, everyone should have received a confirmation email.
I received my confirmation email today, took a few days but it came through without me having to ring them.
They already took my money (paypal).
You should get an email confirming, but perhaps not straight away. Sometimes sites are a bit slow. It should show the order under your account though.
to opt out of credit account chose pay with 'credit / debit card' - it's a small text link at bottom of page when registering a new account on the page where it mentions the benefits of a credit account(with big 3 pink text boxs)
it's easy to miss - so go back a page when they start asking about all your annual income etc.
fingers crossed will be ok
just got an e-mail regarding tracking very topcashback transaction but not holding my breath for that one
Got an email thanking me for updating my email address

Yeah, read about a few bad experiences, although same could be said for other companies. I'm just hoping they honour this otherwise I won't be happy lol. So far they do seem to be honouring the code and I've ever had an account before, not much they can get wrong about the product so...
Try IMN0TAMUGM8
So do it twice you'd need two Groupon accounts and two new Very accounts. However, if they find out then you risk having your order cancelled or voucher cancelled and paying full price.
Might not get the best deal but £50 will cover most new releases
£50 xbox credit for £30
Exactly enough for forza 6  with 1p left
Anyone know how long they take to refund you the voucher amount back?

Spoke to Groupon, they said it could take up to 3 days for the code to activate.
I think you have to order items over £40 and they have two places where you can enter the code, the top one worked for me and the bottom one never worked.
I ordered my U4 copy already. had to use a vpn to open and order but dont know why - order has been accepted:)
cheers
Heat added
In what way?
'If payment is made by credit or debit card Very.co.uk will charge the card with the full order total and then refund the £40'
Pretty painful if it's on dispatch :stuck_out_tongue:
In this case, it seems like a Groupon code really, and thus should be just fine.
Nice one, heat!
