I know this deal has been on HUKD before - because I've already took the deal out myself, but if I remember correctly the post specified it was expiring 25th July.

However after searching around for a family member, I've discovered this deal is still live!

For £16.40 a month you get the following;

- Sky Family Bundle (roughly 450 channels, box sets etc)
- Unlimited Broadband
- Free Weekend calls
- Line rental

Was an great deal then and still is now, it's on a 12 month contract, for 'new' sky customers.

*** Note this deal can be even cheaper, if you're persistent on the phone to the sky call centres you can get an additional £100 refer a freind bonus ***

Was found PC World Sunderland after calling up (In-store deal), but assume it's national as its provided through partnership with simplify digital.

Ps to any admin, had to pick a random end date (mobile user) for the deal, however not actually aware of when this deal is on till, seems like forever ahaha.

I called to cancel, got same deal with unlimited fibre added for £24.99 a month all in, line rental dropped to £14.99 for 10 months (£2.41 off), fibre unlimited £10 for 12 months(from £20) and box sets free for 12 months (£38)

In a month or two i will have been on this deal a year.

What offers have people had after the year?
I assume nothing like the original deal!

I've just rang Bolton carphoneware house (this offer applies in all stores apparently) and they have just told me that this offer is now unavailable. However they do offer the same bundle at £26.40pm + one off £6.95 router equipment, no installation fee. Sky customer service couldn't better this and offered me it for £39.90 plus £10 installation fee + router cost of £6.95.
phil001 to Luvsabargin
22 Oct 15 #201
Highly likely that sky will add a £10 installation fee even when ordered through CPW as I found out

the option to cancel is clearly there if he so chooses.regarding line rental and broadband anyway.
bellamy_47
21 Oct 15 #198
Cancelling part of the package, I know the line rental increase breaks the contract. Maybe a better idea is to try to get them to agree to a rolling 1 month contract? in the hope of prolonging the offer?
n1ttygr1tty
21 Oct 15 #197
what wouldn't work? if you mean they cant leave due to price increase, of course they can, they have 30 days from when receive the letter from sky, (this does not apply to tv tho) as theres no price rise there
bellamy_47
21 Oct 15 #196
It was made very plain to me, there's an extra months charge basically for the equipment, delivery & installation. CPW at fault there if nobody told you.
phil001
21 Oct 15 #195
Yes it is and I would have been happy to pay that if I was told at the point of sale
bellamy_47
21 Oct 15 #194
I don't think that would work, it's line rental you are paying so sky would be due nothing more from you.
bellamy_47

I think a tenner is reasonable for 2 workmens time, a dish, lnb and cabling and a sky+HD box
phil001
21 Oct 15 #192
Yep, im happy with that but even taking that into account the bill was £10 higher than it should have been.

Eventually got them to credit me the £10, took ages as they insist CPW should have advised of a £10 install/activation charge, even though i have emails from them stating free.

Anyway all sorted now
n1ttygr1tty
21 Oct 15 #191
the extra £6.40 would be the router post and packaging cost I would think
phil001
13 Oct 15 #186
When i took this i had to pay £10 'deposit' at carphne warehouse and was told this would be taken off my first bill.
Cant work out my 1st bill, it does show the £10 being deducted but the bill is still for about £24 (£16.40 + £6.40 + a days line renal or something)

Plus be aware line rental is £17.40 from Dec, not too happy they are telling me of a price increase within a day of my TV install though!
bellamy_47 to phil001
13 Oct 15 #187
The first bill is what you've used so far, and 1 full month in advance.

21 Oct 15 #190
you can of course leave sky broadband and line rental penalty free, once you receive your price notifaction letter..
so in theory you could sign up elsewhere for broadband and line rental and just keep your tv (as your tv prices are not effected

Such a shame as far as i can see (or the staff in my local Carphone Wearhouse) for absolutely no good reason Sky have decided to reject my sign up request. The reason I was signing up in the 1st place was because my ex husband had moved out and cancelled the existing contract as it was in his name and as i still wanted Sky I wanted to sign up for my own contract, nothing unusual there u would think...? But no Sky obviously don't want my money and so refused me and to make matters worse after waiting nearly a month and not hearing anything I had to chase them to find all this out!!
Needless to say this offer is no longer available anyway so I couldn't get it if I tried again :-(
phil001
13 Oct 15 #188
Yep, as listed above.

They have added an extra £10 in somewhere, i have just called and they are going to crediti it to my account.

Just had Virgin call me, they basically said there's no way Sky could offer this.
He said he'd had loads of people trying to come back to Virgin because it ends up costing more than expected.

Then he offered 50meg only at £16.99 which i would have accepted if they had offered it to me on the other calls i'd made to them

hi

i went into pc world and carphone warehouse for this deal. the free weekend calls are not included in the pc world deal and at carphone warehouse it was an additional £4 (as mentioned by other posters). however, neither of them could tell me where in the deal i would get, or they could give me £100 voucher or credit.

as the tv wasn't something i particularly needed. i went with broadband deal. so on skys website, the broadband is free (adsl not fibre) only line rental, £16.4 per month. they're also offering £100 reward. plus going through quidco gives an additional £55.

so i work it as 16.4 x 12 months = £196.80 year
£196.80- £155 reward & quidco = £41.8 year
£41.8/12months = £3.48 per month.

i thought this worked out quite sweet.

if anyone could tell me how they got the £100 deal with the tv package included, id really appreciate it. otherwise i hope this helps for anyone who is just after a broadband deal

I get free weekend calls, but would have to pay £4 extra a month for anytime unlimited calls I believe, or £4 for anyday evening calls, can't remember which one, but we definitely get weekend calls (not that I use it much)

£30.00 less 60% = £12.00. WIth the £100 credit, already shows on my account as 2 x £50.00 credits. I have worked out for 12 months it will cost £3.66 month, or if I cancel in month 7 for 8 months in total (30 cancellation agreement) then it is free. I guess I could have paid more for the family bundle but don't really need the other channels. All done over chat so don't have anyone who keeps on for hours trying to get extra from you. It took around 10 mins in total Colin

when we went in we asked a chap in carphone warehouse about their sky deals. He pulled up the different deals they offer on an iPad and we chose the one with fibre, no need to phone sky at all to upgrade to fibre.

Just say can I have the £16.40 sky deal please, it's on their system. They don't add any extras in store, once you ordered it and your order has been processed after a couple days then I would just ring up sky to upgrade to fibre pal
BeerGoggles
5 Sep 15 #76
Sorry for being overly cautious but do you just go in and ask for the sky half price family bundle package at PC World(i.e. do you need to use the voucher code above)? I will need Fibre so do I upgrade then and there or do you have to contact sky after activation?

I had full package sports movies hd multi room phone fibre sky go extra new customer deal for £39.27 instead of £126 no credit but great deal just the £10 installation cost got two sky+ had boxes too as 1 is 2tb box so bonus just depends who u get I think but good luck all

I assume your daughter is an active Sky subscriber? I'm not sure why she would be charged £10 a month as an active subscriber for the service as this is a charge for non subscribers, are you sure you're not confusing the HD fee?
2bhappy
5 Sep 15 #73
Yes sorry missed your comment with the link. Have now had a quick look. However, my daughter has it showing as £10 on her account breakdown and this has only just been set up. She is only paying a total of £16.40 pm which is broken down as £6.40 line rental, free broadband and £10 sky+ limited.

I cancelled 2 months ago. I have been unable to record any TV since. Can't understand why some can still record and others can't?
The "come back and we will give you 60% off deal" arrived in the post last week but have so far not taken it up.

If you go for the 60% off don't forget to push for £100.00 Credit to your account. I used chat, said I had cancelled 2 months ago and asked for special deal, got the 60% offer then pushed and got £100 30 day rolling contract so can escape, no 12 month contract to worry about

I am paying an extra tenner a month for unlimited fibre (connection due soon). Going for fibre did also add another £30 activation fee.

Ps. I believe it is possible to do a straight swap to the 25Gb download limit fibre. Although I assume the £30 fibre activation fee will be payable

All this TV/Internet/Phone business is getting so out of hand pricewise. So many SO CALLED OFFERS by all the providers sometimes make all the Supermarkets look tame.
Just imagine how hard BT is going to hit all of EE/Orange customers soon.
The British public are getting taken for a ride yet this country is supposed to have next to no inflation. Probably NON in the houses of parliament or the houses of parliamentarians with their HUGE expense and pay increases that normal people NEVER GET. Politicians have NO IDEA of what goes on in the real world and don't seem to have any interest either unless their seat and expense account is at stake

Wow this sounds excellent and I live in Sunderland wooohoo (first time I celebrated that). I'm currently paying £38 for PlusNet and this looks ideal. Can I just ask three questions:

1) Do you get a free HD box at this price?
2) what speeds can you expect for the broadband (those who have it)?
3) OP is this advertised PC world or do you have to ask behind desk?

Thanks.
Doors to BeerGoggles
5 Sep 15 #61
1) Yes we did
2) I upgraded to fibre. I expect broadband speeds will depend on your location such as proximity to the exchange.
3) No they do not advertise it you must ask in store

I would like to hope so, that's exactly how I have it setup. I use the main viewing card in the bedroom box which allows me to record as it would if I had an active Sky subscription.
JusticeForThe96
5 Sep 15 #36
So, I previously had Sky and Sky Multiroom. The main box went, then my missus signed up and got the 12 months half price deal from refer a friend.

The multiform box still works fine upstairs as a freeview, but has no pause, rewind or record functions.

Guessing if I stuck the main box card in the upstairs box (former multiform, but still a Sky plus box) it should work judging by this then?

My 50% off Sky Family bundle deal at £18 p/m negotiated by MSE is expiring in 2 weeks. Used the link you provided and was offered a 35% discount (£23.40 p/m) through the live chat with their 'TV Reinstate Team'. 5 Sep 15 #16

Hi as I was at the end of my contract I asked them to cancel everything as they couldn't give me a decent renewal. After long chats they offered me line rental, broadband and limited use of sky+ box for £16.40 which I took. It was use of the box that swayed me to stay as my aerial reception is awful. Anyway I received a call from them and agreed to take tv after they said £24.40 pm and the offer of £50 account credit. It has been applied. He said it's to June 2016 (not a 12 month contract) for the tv but just said it was on a 31 day cancellation at any time. He said I could give cancellation notice at any time and still keep £50 - so even if I had given 31 days notice the next day. I'm writing 31 days but now questioning myself as to whether it's 30 day notice. My account would then go back to £16.40 pm until August 2016.

Hi, I've got the same deal too which expires this month! They also offered it to me for £24.40 per month but no mention of free credit!? This is a 12 month deal! '2bhappy' how can you cancel anytime? What would your package cost if you cancelled the tv?

Also, what's this about PC World?

Thanks for the information. I've gone to the web page but I can't see anything about the £100. It's just asks if you are thinking of coming back to sky. Can you help me please? My daughter was on the same original deal as me but hasn't been able to get the deal I negotiated. She's now got line rental, broadband, weekend calls and sky+ box limited functions for £16.40 pm. It's so hit and miss with Sky. However if I can find the details she might be able to take up the offer.

Great deal! We've just cancelled after 12 months of this and it's been spot on.

I have a question for anyone in the know... Ours runs out at the end of the month and currently in the GF's name. We moved into our new house a year ago but I had a similar deal through Sky for the previous year at our old house, in my name.

I want to take this deal as a new customer but my last day as a Sky customer was around 4th-5th of October last year.

Can I book in advance for installation after that date this year and still qualify as a new customer?
Billythebubble
4 Sep 15 #11
Don't forget Sky's annual price increases to recover their reasonable costs, yeah right!

4 Sep 15 #7
I got this deal last September so finishing now. I have negotiated keeping the package for £24.40 per month and they have given me a £50 credit. The tv part finishes next June, although I can cancel anytime with 31 days notice, and the landline, calls, and broadband finishes August. The different dates are because it was set up on two different calls. I think this means I am paying under £20 per month (taking into consideration the credit) for the package until June next year.
BuzzDuraband to 2bhappy
4 Sep 15 2 #10
I've literally just got a letter from them today. I cancelled my Sky back in June. Now that the Sky+ recording function is fully available to people without an existing subscription the box and free channels are more than adequate for myself, what with all the other subscriptions I take (Netflix, Amazon Prime and so on).

Anyway, the letter offered me the Family Bundle for £14.40 a month with £100 credit to the account (just under 7 months free).

Maybe try to negotiate that £50 to £100 given that they actually have a webpage dedicated to the credit?

sky.com/100reward

I appreciate its for them to recuperate lost subscribers, but may be some good ammunition for you

Edit: Just to confirm I appreciate that the offer of £24.40 made to you was possibly for TV, Broadband and Calls, I just thought it was worth mentioning the 100reward

I have this deal too from back in February. excellent deal. just dread what they will charge when my contract finishes. it seems like they do this deal on the down low all the time but they are not allowed to advertise it.
