Lidl's own brand tastes just as good and is even cheaper -all the time. If you're going there to buy one of these also buy one for their own brand Choco Nussa and do a taste test.

You are so right. I bought them both at the same time and did a taste test exactly the same with possiby Lidl's own having a slight edge.

yum, 57% sugar - roughly 5 teaspoons of sugar per slice of bread

as opposed to say marmalade at 90% sugar, or cheaper jams at 60 or 70% sugar, its 'healthy' compared to the majority of other spreads.

Where's the 5 teaspoons come from? A portion is 15g so 2 teaspoons. The equivalent portion of butter is about 110 calories whilst this is 81.
Heaven forbid people taste something other than plain bread though. :stuck_out_tongue:

lol? did you forget the 31.6% fat?
the rest of jam is water
nutella has twice the calories found in jam
[marmalade generally has the same sugar as jam (maybe you are mixing up %fruit)]

Actually, even plain bread has too many calories. Going by this logic, we should eat nothing.

15 grams which contain 8.1 grams of sugar. I've been told per tea spoon is 2.5g - thus, 3 and a quarter spoons.
P.s. 15g for one slice is too much anyways, you can fit that on to two slices. 15g is equivalent to one full table spoon. So, 81 calories spread across two slices is not that bad. 4g of sugar per slice, mind - which works out to as I've said above 3 and a quarter teaspoons of sugar spread across two slices.

I don't think you can attach healthy to nutella. Enjoy it if you love chocolate, but it's not healthy. The amount of hazelnut is small in comparison to the oil and sugar.

I've just done some research. 8 grams is equivalent to 1.6 teaspoons - according to "convertunits.com". So, would that mean the 8g of sugar per 15g of nutella is only 1.6 teaspoons?
yrreb88 to amadahmed2

It's generally accepted that 4g is 1 teaspoon so 8g is 2 teaspoons of sugar. Certainly not 5 as someone posted earlier.
That site is converting teaspoons of water to grams too.

Slap your bread on a digital scale before and after spreading nutella. I guarantee most people use far more than the suggested 15g serving, especially kids.

Food police were the parents, grandparents and relatives. They are outsourced partially now to government , agencies, health trusts because people are not trusted without two tiers of parental guidance plus relatives around them offering healthy sensible advice. Other amateur food police take action as they are sick and tired of paying ever spiralling tax increases in the indirect form of flight tax, green taxes, levy this and duty plus cut backs for national health as a whole.

Don't forget to buy the other reasonably priced items in the store that are as good if not better than other supermarket products. As proved often in blind taste tests.
