Infinity is actually Japanese not American.it is the luxury vehicle division of Nissan.

I'm pretty sure they're made by Nissan. The posh branch. Sort of the same way that Lexus is Toyota's posh mark. That's a good thing too if you want something really reliable. Especially these days as the Germans are losing the plot with quality.

Does leasing include the insurance company costs or is that extra?
Can u buy the vehicle?
loofer to roadie
31 Aug 15#38
Nope, insurance is pretty much never included in a lease deal. You have to arrange your own.
You also have to be mindful that the insurer may only pay out market value for vehicle and the lease company may be expecting a higher figure, which is where you are expected to make up the shortfall. People buy a product called Gap insurance for this (in addition to norm car insurance)

reminds me of the old Lexus IS saloon. Not for me I'm afraid, better alternatives, a bit smaller but golf R
The Lexus IS on the other hand was the most reliable for the same Consumer Reports survey.

No, not American brand.
3 Japanese car brands all have their primium series in different name.
Toyota - Lexus
Honda - Acura
Nissan - Infiniti
Only Lexus is more successful and well-known.

Pretty sure its a ZF mated to that engine in a Merc so yes the Nissan won't have the same.
loofer
29 Aug 15#31
Yup I did wonder if it was a Merc engine.
Appears to be the one from the C220 CDI with 170bhp, except the Merc is a full second quicker to 60 and slightly better MPG.
I'm guessing it's lighter and possibly a superior gearbox/setup

Yes and that's why most of European Nissan models are so inferior to their non-European models, from design to quality..Renault influence

Cheaper than the depreciation suffered by buying with even a hefty discount. If this is the car you want then this lease deal is hot.

Renault and Nissan are partners in the Renault–Nissan Alliance. It covers both brands, as well as Infiniti, Dacia, and some other smaller manufacturers who primarily focus on other markets in world (e.g. Lada in Russia, and Datsun in India).
Both manufacturers share some platforms and engine technology (for example, a lot of Nissans use Renault's 1.5 dci diesel engine) and they have also shared research & development costs for electric vehicles, such as the Nissan Leaf and the Renault Fluence and Zoe models.
But back on topic - this particular Q50 model actually uses a Mercedes Benz-derived diesel engine - owing to a partnership between the Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler... just to add to the confusion!
Heat, btw - seems a decent deal, even if Infiniti don't quite yet have the brand cachet that the usual German suspects (or Lexus, for that matter) have in the UK market. But you never know, in a few years they might just start making some more inroads...

Had a quick look on Autotrader to see what residuals are like (not many to choose from) and found the following:
Infiniti Dealership (so top end sticker price for a trader)
2014 model with just 16k miles and it retailing for £19k.
Assuming you had to p/x or sell privately for £17k and the cash price new for this vehicle is £31k then that's £14k loss in just over a year.
Probably more to do with the fact that not many people know about these cars hence not much demand for them.
Otherwise car seems alright for looks and kit.

You will get a massive chunk off the RRP so you wouldn't lose that much, would still probably be in five figures tho.
It's good to see something in this sector that isn't a Bmw, Merc or Audi, bit like choosing a Saab in days gone by.

Ta OP. Voted hot.
8k pa is about £600 cheaper over the term. So if the excess mileage is less than 15p per mile then you'd be better off going for that option.

Red Bull have these as sponsors on the back of the cars. Seems ironic how Red Bull Renault are sponsored by Nissan.
Very good cars by the way (Infinity), I would love one myself.
Opening post
I believe it's an established American brand and this particular model is trying to compete with 3 series and C Class here in UK.
Personally it looks like a cross between a Mazda 6 and Lexus IS
Although this deal is for flat paint (appears to be £100 option for metallic) it seems a very well equipped car with plenty of gadgets/features
Engine is decent emitting 114g/km and claiming 65mpg urban yet 0-60secs in 8.7 secs. It's the manual model and it's RWD.
The deal is 2 years personal contract hire, no maintenance and low deposit, for 10k miles/year. You can vary deposit and miles to suit.
Non refundable deposit £798 (3 months equivalent)
£180 admin fee
23 monthly payments of £266
More details on the car here
