Utter crap! It only came with 4 strings. I suppose this is the quality you're getting when you buy a guitar named after fish.

Love these posts. Its a beautiful bit of kit that would be bashed on by a monkey if i bought it.

We have a slightly higher spec model bass, but also have an Ibanez electric - they are really good guitars, excellent fit and finish, nice low action. This would be a good starter bass.

really not sure if I should buy this or splash out on the gretsch bass I like! I had a cheap Westfield guitar and replaced it with a Gibson sg and the difference was incredible... hmmm decisions...

I had this bass a few years ago when I started learning, I can vouch for it being a great bit of kit!

Never seen a bass on here before. Even if I don't know this model at all...have some heat

Ibanez are a well known make....some top artists use their guitars (ie Satriani)
tempted to get a bass for myself as a mess about/change from the usual plus other half can play along

I have a Westfield in a cupboard somewhere, what a piece of garbage that was. Only marginally better then the Stagg ovation style acoustic I bought, smashed it up with a hammer in the end.

every time I tried playing rocksmith with the Westwood the game never recognized the notes it was that bad!
decided on getting a second hand squire off eBay, hope I don't get screwed, was so tempted by this one tho

I wonder how it compares with this bass, which is currently £90 but usually around the £125 to 150 price going by camelcamel
I know this post is a bit old but I can guarantee the ibanez will poop all over that encore.

You are correct
Did my research a bit after then. Opted to buy the next model up, an Ibanez GSR200 in walnut - cheapest could find around 189 from memory, but managed to use bespoke which got me it for £163 - and should also come to an awesome price of £134 so long as I get paid the 18% quidco cashback that has tracked on it

Nice deal!
I bought my Ibanez Ergodyne bass about 13 years ago and it plays as lovely as the day I bought it
