I'll let the title and link speak for itself.
Seems really cheap to me even though I appreciate 5000miles and 18 months may not be everyone's cup of tea.
Effectively it works out at £106.20 a month!

Patronising someone by telling them to apply some common sense is answering accordingly? Jeez, you're digging a hole now.
The main question in there has gone unanswered. Does leasing bump up insurance costs? A bit of support to someone who openly admits to not knowing much about leasing wouldn't go amiss.

Great find. Cue loads of stupid leasing comments, as usual.
For many Londoners and other city dwellers, this is the way to hire a weekend car for under £25 per weekend. Seeing as most of us don't use them during the week. Can't think there's a cheaper way (and that includes all the comments about buying a used car - this is a new car, so not in any way comparable).
Depends on whether it is an A to B car or looking for extra miles and extra options

Just realised, this is an 18m whereas that link is 24m, so as a cost comparison I make this one to be £2,078.64 (if it were for 24m rather than 18m)
Calc'd as = (£27.86 x 24 ) + (1200) + (£210)
Thanks for this will add now

Ring up other lease places or even citroen themselves and get them to beat the price. Central vehicle leasing apparently claim they will do the cheapest deals for citroens in the UK and will beat any competitor. Not endorsing them, just going by what Keith told me in an email.

I assume I still have to pay insurance? If so then I will basically have to pay for 2 years insurance? Please can anyone tell me how other people do it (have never leased before)? Also, does the fact that it's a lease can bump up the insurance? Thanks in advance x

OK...just take a step back, apply a bit of common sense and think about what you asked there.
Do you think an 18 month lease that works out at £100/month is going to include comprehensive insurance? Unfortunately not. With regards to buying insurance, just pay for 2 x 1 year policies and when you hand the car back at 18 months you can either get a refund on the remaining 6 months or transfer the policy to another car.
The lease cost does include VED (which will be £0 for this car anyway), breakdown cover and a manufacturer's warranty for the whole 18 months.

If you're willing to compromise on the engine then you can get this deal with 8k miles pa rather than 5k for about £70 cheaper:
I get that to £102.33 per month, worked out at 18 months.
17x £79 + £499 = 1842
Have I calculated incorrectly?
I'm not look to pay much over £95 per month ideally.

You get a lot of car for just over a hundred quid a month. I drive the 1.0 model which is cheaper but drives like a slug. Thanks for the info karlie, I did state that I assumed the insurance wasn't included but haven't seen an 18 month lease before and could potentially be very cheap on insurance depending on age, etc. The extra 6 month policy will probably eat up nearly, if not all, the insurance price. Am currently

Just a heads up for people trying to get this deal. I tried to get a similar deal and have been refused credit for the lease.
I have checked my score on Experian and rating as good (899) and haven't been refused for anything in the past.
I even offered to pay the whole term up front and they didn't respond after 3 emails and a phone call...
My application was via gateway2lease and it was around this price inc metallic paint and 10k miles.
karlie88
18 Sep 15#36
Yes, I did answer accordingly.
The average price of insurance is £600 per year. If one were to apply some common sense then it's clear to see that this cost is not included in a car that costs £1200 per year to lease. I can understand if the same question was asked for a car that costs £5000 per year to lease...
As to whether leasing increases insurance premiums, that's dependent on your driving/insurance history and the insurance company in question. Put in some quotes yourself and see what the difference is. Ultimately, that's the only way you can get your answer.

18 Sep 151#37
You're missing the point completely. It was clear to me that the original comment that Mrs.Z was just checking. It was also clear to me that your response was rude and patronising.
As for average price of insurance, I wouldn't have a clue. I'm only interested in what my car costs me to insure. My current car (9 month old Octavia) costs me £180 a year so would assume this to be lower. I did actually do a quick check on this car and it would cost me £150 a year to insure. If Mrs.Z has similar insurance costs or less is it actually that outlandish to think that insurance *might* be included?
karlie88
18 Sep 15#38
Yes, because insurance may be £150 for you but is likely to be £1000+ for a 19 year old.
As for the original 'comment' - it was a question; as denoted by the '?' at the end of the sentence. Thus, I'm not missing the point completely.

Yes, it was a question. Yes, it did have a question mark.
I think Mrs.Z was pretty confident on the answer. Don't you? Your response was rude, patronising and completely unjustified. That's my point.
As I said, I have no interest in the cost of the insurance for anyone else including a 19yr olds. Insurance could be £150 for everyone as far as I am concerned. When I buy a car all I am interested in is what it costs for me to buy, run and insure.
