For some reason, when you search directly for iD, the cashback is just £5.05 .... but £20 if you go via the Carphone Warehouse page.

Regardless, I am now ordering that sim :smiley:. I was just about to pay £10 for a GiffGaff goodybag...so this has saved me a nice chunk of change!

Ordered the shock proof £7.50 100 mins/5000 texts/1GB data plan. Just what I needed...especially with the potential TCB profit.
Even if the cashback fails, it's a good enough price for just 1 month of use.

How do I go about ensuring that I don't get charged for a second month?

they list prices EX VAT (tho can ofc cancel under cooling off)

i recent took out the £7.00 pcm for a y300 from talkmobile, and get a bill of Monthly Plan excl. VAT £7.53 (higher since first month so billed for 38 days or whatever not the 30) VAT £1.51, Bill total £9.04, even asked them about it, and they say there listed prices are EX VAT

cant be bothered to edit personal details out of pictures to prove the fact but oh well, tho the mintues/text from this deal are worst (ok data is double, and some will want that, some want more mins and texts) than the £7 pcm y330 at talkmobile (CPW too) so if you do want just a sim get that (cashback is the same) sell the y330 to cex for £29, and just keep the sim,

either way you will get messed about on VAT non being in the listed prices

I ordered a 12 month contract with iD contract in haste yesterday, opted for the 'TakeAway Plan' as I often visit Portugal so it appeared to tick all the boxes. Then discovered they don't allow tethering - deal breaker for me so refused delivery, opted for a monthly deal with 3 until I find something better.

Can only get cash back if order by desktop or laptop

Mine tracked at £5 with Quidco but ID knocked me back! I passed their credit check for another contract a couple of months ago so maybe you can't have two contracts with them in the same name?

As I say I do have another contract with them already in my name (Mrs uses it) so presume it's this or the fact they gave me a free Huawei P8 for only £12.50 a month on that one :smile:

Just a heads up. If you are using this sim with a Windows Phone, then mobile hotspot DOES work :smiley:. The perk of having a fringe OS !

Just wondering how this is a great deal, when all you get is 100 mins per month? For an extra £2.50, aren't you better off going for tesco sim-only deal which gives you 500mins 5000txt and 1GB???? You can still cap within £2.50...

No it's £10, although contract is 18 months...but it's a bargain compared to this.

I think info on tethering is extremely important for mobile users nowadays; many of us often overlook the T&Cs as they are in the small print and probably expect tethering is allowed (as it should be, we are paying for that data).

And I don't think we should tolerate trolling here. HUKD is not a place for trolling.

This is a great deal, thanks OP. Especially with the potential profit there. But I am having second thought on this as:
1) I don't want to set up a direct debit as I will need to cancel it. (I don't want them to have my bank details)
2) I will need to cancel it soon most likely as I still think giffgaff/TPO/3 are better than iD at the moment (just my opinion).
3) They could offer more than 100 minutes.
4) They are not offering unlimited data, hence I don't see the reason ban tethering.
5) It is a rolling contract... I prefer PAYG (like giffgaff), I like to freedom to switch from month to month easily without going through the cancellation procedure.

It's a hot deal nonetheless. Heat added.

Tethering works fine on my Windows Phone. The ID app is really good too...esp' compared to the GiffGaff one.

Also, with the £25 cashback, you are effectively getting a 3 month trial for free. It's perfect for me...and I'm not sure any of your issues stack up when you factor in the cashback.

No idea what happens when the data runs out - though on my ID app on my Windows Phone, it says the contract is 'shockproof' - so I assume the data connection will just get cut off.

I've also had a direct debit for £7.50 taken twice due to the billing cycle meaning my cancellation was after the first 30 day period. Very unhappy, will be taking this up with both Carphone Warehouse and my bank....

There is a better deal on the iDmobile website ... £7.50 - 250 mins with 1GB data for a 30-day SIM only!!
