This deal will either be hated or loved, depending on users internet habits and if people demand superfast internet...
I purchased one of these about 6 weeks ago (for a more expensive price from another seller!) and feel I can now post the deal as I have experience of the plan and overall very impressed. But the deal will only suit certain individuals based upon their web usage and the internet speeds they demand...
Basically you are free to browse the internet as much as you like, which means Facebook, Twitter, Internet Banking, EMail and general browsing in a web browser.
You then have 1GB for the likes of Streaming Music, YouTube and Video Chat.
When you are within your 1GB of data usage I am getting 3G data speeds of 10-16Mb/PS, depending on the signal strength.
If I exceed the 1GB of data I usually get a text, which according to the app on my tablet says I have used 1.5-1.75GB of data and the speed usually slows down to 1-2Mb/PS, the following day.
Then I am only supposed to be able to "Web browse", however YouTube and Streaming services continue to work, albeit with a little wait to start-up. So usually just turn down the video quality. But still works a treat and general websites load just as quick!
I used in total over 8GB of data (according to my app) and has worked a dream!
I am just a casual web browser when out and about, and only have my tablet with me when away from home for a day or two. It beats signing up to EE's current 4G plans where you only get 1GB of data for £10 a month!
***Users need to be aware this is a 3G Data Plan, and 4G data is NOT offered!***

Seems to me this is just a normal T -Mobile sim that you can get for 0.99p on Ebay with a 6 month Internet Booster for £20 added on the day the sim is sent out but still a good deal for 6 months data. Handy if you have dual sim phone
Save £7 - Just buy a sim for 0.99p free delivery from here
Top up the sim with £20 then text 6MONTHWEB to 441
they weren't, only available in some non franchise EE stores if were an existing customer & you needed a replacement (though they did occasionally appear on e*bay)

I wonder how even after 5 years of EE being formed, T-Mobile SIMs are still being manufactured let alone sold.

Hi, I realise this is an old thread and somewhat outdated but it might be perfect for our needs.
My father is on Virgin for his TV and home phone and fancies getting the internet to "look stuff up" - no streaming / downloading etc.
Virgin want £20 a month extra for the privilege which i think is ridiculous
We have bought him a tablet for Christmas.
If he gets one of these sims can someone suggest a suitable dongle or mifi to put it in please.

I posted this deal months ago, and didn't realise it was still active!
At the time of posting, I didn't realise you could simply get a T-Mobile PAYG SIM and just top up £20.
I thought you had to buy one of these specific Data deals.
This eBay deal never seems to expire!

giles, this deal you posted maybe a rip off. I walked in T-Mobile (before ee happened) and gave them £20, they gave me the sim for free and added the credit to it and I bought the booster, job done.
Wondering if it still can happen as I don't think there are T-Mobile stores anymore. There are I think some Orange shops but recently found trying to deal with an issue on an orange only phone, I was quickly banging my head up a brick wall.
I have just replied to another thread about this sim that has people currently saying the activation isn't working to get the booster running.
We need more info. Anyhow, the ebay deal is a rip off.. only a few quid, none the less

7 Sep 15#41
I might get it as a backup connection. 1-2mbps is blazing fast by Hull standards (max 3-4mbps in the early hours of the morning, never even seen a 4g connection here), so if it's unlimited at that speed, I'll be a happy bunny

How can it tell between YouTube/streaming and regular browsing? Would a VPN get around it?
xeroc to HereKittyKitty
7 Sep 151#40
It could be Url filtering, though this is unlikely as they would have to maintain a list.
It could check the MIME type for suggestions of the file being video/audio. Again unlikely I would say.
They could block particular ports, but this would be ineffective for the most part as all unsecured web traffic will run over port 80.
A VPN would bypass all of those measures, yes.
Chances are they do none of the above. They probably just limit the speed of the connection. Although this doesn't 'stop' you streaming it impedes it to the point that it's not worthwhile / quality is very poor. A VPN will not help you there.

This sim is a great one. I used it 3 years back, when it was 1 year lengthy and around £25 on ebay with unlimited surfing and 500 mb data. I think this sim is from T-mobile euro-zone (perhaps German based) but not too sure. My sim was showing T-Mobile Germans website during registration. This sim worked well on usb dongle to connect on my laptop. Broadband speed is reasonable for browsing however streaming is a bit slow but still works.

I've been using this sim on and off for nearly two years (the 200GB for two month ones fill the void), and it's a lifesaver. Useful if you just want to browse and lowering the quality on Youtube does the trick or using it as full speed before 4.00PM.

For less than £5 a month, and no commitments to a contract or a worry of running out of data. I am super happy!
I am however not some business user, with high expectations requiring certain services.
