Same a previous deal just cheaper!! I've just ordered one for £99 delivered. Previous deal comments suggest unlock codes are available on eBay.

It's a decent phone for the money, but the one I used had less than 1.5gb free after a clean install. Appreciate it has an SD card slot, but it doesn't give you a lot of wiggle room for apps.

Odd when the Z2 only uses just over 4gb for the OS that these have so little.

this or the sony xperia t3 from argos same price?

The M4 has a better processor (although it is prone to overheating), and more RAM (2GB vs 1GB on the T3).
Camera has more pixels too (13MP vs 8MP).

Won't let me order it :disappointed: Keep getting a white page on laptop and mobile

The Vodafone website is a buggy mess, try different browsers.
Also, I've found it fails to work correctly if you are an existing customer (when your email address has been used for a previous order). Instead, set up a new account for each new order.

Thanks for that. It was a white screen after logging in but I made another account up and it worked

BTW I checked one out in store and it had 2.9GB available storage left. I'm guessing the pre-installed apps haven't been updated. I'll disable most of them anyway and pray for root!

Anyone know if this has the Vodafone branding on it? Despite the specs, its a deal breaker.

This or moto g?

27 Aug 15#14
The spec of this either matches or beats the moto g on every point. I would go for this if nothing else because it is several mm slimmer than the moto g. Although personally I am keeping a look out for something <5 inches. The Register also agrees this is the better phone.

Vodafone handsets are usually quite cheap to unlock. There are Vodafone only codes available on ebay for this phone for £4-£5

can confirm it has 2.9gb spare and more apps which can be removed for space.

Thanks for confirming. There are a couple of different comments about the space available but this seems more likely to me than 1.5gb. Cheers

Those that have already purchased this, are the pre-installed Apps easy to uninstall and how much space do they free up? Cheers.

I believe it's about 1.5GB free when all the preinstalled apps are updated. If someone figures out how to root this then we'll be able to use Folder Mount

I had the same problem. Just start again and create a new account using a different email address (if you're trying to log in using an account you have). If you "Request desktop site" you'll probably have a better experience.

Please compare to devices in the same price range (I guess something like Moto E or Moto G). For the "official" price - sony website: £199!!! - it's clear that its not a deal... but when you say something is poor (camera, display, memory) would be good to make comparison to something in the same price range.

Sony allow apps to me moved to the sd card on all the z series with the lollipop update.
maybe the same for these
waynester21
28 Aug 15#35
If the app supports it then some of it can be moved to the SD card but some will always remain in the internal memory of the phone.

tried to canx the 125 and was on the phone for an hour to foreign call centres. had to put the phone down and complain about the original sales member who set me on this unfortunate journey. the supervisor in sales sorted it in 1 minute. I cant deal with a company thats so **** retentive about its customer service so Im out ordering online. Maybe pick one up from the shop in Kendal on Sunday for 110.

Just some Vodafone apps that are easily unistalled. btw Vodafone do the unlock for £20, which you can use credit towards. So if you bought instore you already have £10 credit. Top up another £10 then go to their website to submit unlocking request. Would be £119.00 in total that way.

Thanks OP bought one last night online. Was going for the k3 note, but this cheaper, no Chinese bloat ware and a tad smaller than the k3 note. Plus warranty and returns.
Not too bothered r.e. Root for this as I have been doing to background reading and hopefully Sony will unlock the boot loader in due course.
1-2 weeks delivery is a bit of a bummer, guess I need to keep using my troubled iPhone 4 for a little bit longer!

Just used my m2 aqua and who put the talk back on the first of the accessibility functions 3 accidental clicks and 2 frustrating hours later without photo taking. Hope the m4 aqua cars better. Talk back makes the phone barely useable but then that's disability discrimination act taken to extremes. Poo on you sony

Ordered this on Monday, took 9 attempts and finally with the help of online chat got the order to go through, 24 hours later and still no confirmation email so went on online chat, was told to wait 24 hours for it to update their system.
After 48 hours called customer support, they said it was still not on system and wait a bit longer.
Later that evening got a call from them asking how it all went, explained I was still waiting for confirmation, they said oh that's nothing to do with them and I should call customer service.
Just went on online chat again, was told no order had gone through and would I like to order again, said yes then was told phone had gone up to £125, I explained I had saved the page from Monday saying my order had been completed at £99, they said sorry it's £125. Told them not to bother.
What a sham!!!

Be thankful you had a lucky escape from Vodafone support hell. The M4 Aqua has serious problems with overheating. Users have been advised to download a firmware update which reduces temperature a little at the expense of throttling the CPU and crippling the phone.

It says 1 year for an unlock code on a number but you also need a different email too. However if you do fall foul voda aren't clever enough to stop you trying a different email address
