Fantastic deal for an EE 4G sim only deal for 12 months.

Deal includes Unlimited minutes, Unlimited texts & 10GB data. Next working day delivery included.

Cashback totals £252, which you can easily claim on months 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12.

Far better than the previous deal for Vodafone posted earlier in the week which worked out at £12.99 per month after cashback for the same allowances.

It is available via Mobilephonesdirect.co.uk, which you can use to find the deal if you go through their filter options, choosing 10GB data and get a possible £10.50 cashback from Topcashback.

They absolutely rubbish to deal with. Everything takes ages and loads of phone calls and patience. Can't wait for my contract to finish in 12 months time

Good luck with calling EE directly to get a better than advertised deal, never worked for me or my wife. Cash back claims process is easy and due to the massive saving should not be very hard to find a few minutes to do at each point.

How hard is claiming the cashback? do they always pay out?
Kantrop to theman_257
7 Aug 15 2 #3
I've previously had a cashback redemption deal with dial a phone (phones4u company) before their liquidation.

The process was very easy. You just e-mail your online bill on the requested months. E.g you sent them your month 4 bill, month 6 bill etc... and you had 60 days to do so. Once done they will then send a cheque in the post.

This will all be explained in a document when you sign up.

I get this for a tenner a month direct from ee. It's always worth calling then direct to see what they can offer as they would have to pay these 3rd party companies more than it would be to sell it to you direct for cheaper.

I avoided cash back for years but then decided to go for it on my last phone - unfortunately with Phones4U just before they went bust so all I got was a "sorry" letter. With this deal just keep in mind the £28.99 a month is a large amount to be stuck with if the cashback doesnt work!

SFJnet makes a good point though.. i have no issue claiming for the money back in installments, but i suppose its about taking the risk of the business going down the pan. I wouldnt have expected Phone4U going into liquidation

EE don't mind tethering, as it is still part of your limited data allowance.

Thank you and heated.
I'm on a three contract that's about to expire that has 2GB internet, 200 minutes and unlimited texts for £10, but after cashback this beats it.
Three signal seems to be patchy too in rural areas, though it was alright for me for two years. Before that I was with T-Mobile and their coverage was pretty decent.

An EE marketing scam where they cap the speed of people on lower value tariffs .

As for these going bust, they're the same group as Carphone warehouse. And, given the cynics couldn't be blamed for suggesting phones4u were pushed out of the market, I doubt these folks are going anywhere any time soon.

If you are an existing EE customer and want to get this deal from mobilesphonedirect you have to start a new connection with EE if you want to keep your number.I was an EE customer and I took a sim only contract for 12 months with mobilephonesdirect and I had to port my number to Vodafone in order to keep it. Anyway Vodafone is far behind EE and I live in London.

How long have people's orders said 'awaiting decision from network' ?
tommytbone1
10 Aug 15 #55
I've only just ordered this morning, so cant say at mo, but keep us updated if you could! Ta

It says this about the wait
"We are currently processing your order and / or awaiting a decision from the network for your application. We will notify you by email as soon as we have received a decision. Most of the time we get a decision instantly so we can ship your handset to you for free next day delivery. There are some circumstances where you may be referred by the network, in which case it could take up to 48 hours to reach a decision. Either way we will notify you by email as soon as we hear anything."

I've had to cancel mine as third party companies cant check against Business accounts with EE... so they are unable to credit check against my existing Tmobile Business account. He also said i wont be able to place a new order using my details as it'll just keep getting into this loop. Also, changing a business account to a personal account puts a 30 day hold onto my account with EE so i need to use somene elses details to order .... running round the houses with this one!

I got my despatch email today.

Does porting from Virgin count as porting from EE? (They use the same network, don't they?)
szumi1978
11 Aug 15 #70
I had email back "Unfortunately your credit request has been declined by EE. We have cancelled your order within our system, please note that we have not taken any money from your credit/debit card.
"
I didn't know whats happened so I have mailed to mobilesphones.

They answered:
"I have checked your order and it looks like the network have declined your application for a contract.
As we are a third party company we are not allowed to know the reason why you have been declined.
Therefore we have had to cancel your order on this basis, if you wish to know the reason for the decline you would need to contact the network direct."

It's strange. Dont know why? Couple of months back I had contract 2 years with T-Mobile, after that I jumped into three (pay as you go) and I transfered the old t-mobile (EE) phone nr.
Maybe that why?
Does anyone know how to contact by mail with EE? Cant find. I'm at the moment abroad so no calls :/
Thanks in advance.

Not a BT customer, but live in the residence of one. You don't even need to get it delivered to that house, or be the account holder.
pako
14 Aug 15 #83
Of course there is (as long as you're on PAYG at least). All you need to do is just to call 150 (from your new/temporary phone number) and ask for keeping you previous phone number. It takes 2 to 3 minutes for consultant to do that and another roughly 1 hour to complete the process. You can check if it is complete by texting 'Number' to 150 from time to time.

You're welcome. ;-)

Edit:
Net stats (via SpeedTest):
Ping: 23 ms, DL: 87.62 Mbps, UL: 46.54 Mbps

So IT IS 4GEE Extra.

Not bad deal, though. ;-)

I'm with three but pee'd off, I have a full 3g signal at home but the tower is so over contended there is literally no internet (slower than dialup) to the point sites time out. Just thought I'd post this as a reminder for cashback.

Cash back on 12 month contracts is claimed during billing months 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 from the date of connection or upgrade.

My bill dates are 13th August 2015, 13th September 2015, 13th October 2015, and most recently 13th November 2015, so I'll be submitting my November bill (from the EE website) for my first lot of cashback.

Claims must be received within 60 days from the date shown on the bill, so there's a fair while yet before you have to get it uploaded.

Hope this helps.

I've already bought my next sim only deal. Went with BT Mobile. 15GB Data, unlimited minutes and texts for £16 per month. Quidco tracked at £35 and I've also claimed an £80 Amazon voucher.

12 months x £16 = £192
-£35 for Quidco = £157
-£80 Amazon voucher = £77
Effective monthly cost = £6.41
