**Please note that this will have space to fit Part 2 into the set**
Nearly paid £39.99 in HMV using an old £10 voucher. But looking around its £25 is everywhere. Found for £18.95 on Base.
Epic series (I've been recommended it) reviews are amazing!
Synopsis
Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by giants. Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by enclosing themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants. Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. As the smaller giants flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Eren vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind.
Also available at their Ratuken outlet for £19.99 but with points if you're into them.

It is an absolutely astonishing series. I'm not even a huge Manga fan, and this is by far the best thing I watched this year, across any media.

This collectors edition of part 1 includes the Notes From Beyond the Wall: Part 1 booklet ( which includes interviews, character bios , 'chibi' comic strips etc). Part 2 of the series however is like goldust to find with the part 2 booklet. I went through 3 copies from 3 different sites and none had it included. I eventually found one inside a 2nd hand copy i got. Seems the part 2 booklet was only included in the initial release of part 2, so newer copies dont include it.

So the box cover is from part one? Does the back of this only have information which matches the first part?

At a good price £20ish
Amazon is best price at moment probably at 19.99. Its normally anywhere from £23-25+. Holds its value well
£19 from other sellers but I assume without the booklet.

Liking the 380 Superpoints from Rakuten, only for another 8 minutes though :smirk:

Probably, other than actually asking people selling em second hand if the booklet is included as even second hand ones could be from the later release. Anything new would be the latter versions without it.
I guess they made it sort of a limited thing, same as when some blurays come with slipcovers or fancy colored cases in their initial release, then get rid of them after a while.

A series worth watching but you can try before you buy. A free 14 day trial on crunchyroll will be more than enough time to let you watch the whole series in blu ray quality. I think it's on Netflix too.

Yeah its pretty much just a posh box based on part 1, but has the convenience of being able to fit 2 inside. No info on it about part 2 at all
I personally dont like that it also says 3 disc collectors edition on the front of the box, should of just said collectors edition.
The spine just says Attack on Titan though, so thats fine

I think it's a bit shoddy. Also split in two parts is trying to milk that 'cash cow' too much for my liking. I would have been happy if they sold it as one complete series one collection edition and put some effort into it. There also seem quite a few versions out around the world (I saw a part two which had 2 blu-rays and 2 DVDs in one box set).

The 2 bluray 2 dvd version is the American version. Not sure if its just a double play though as opposed to extras.
The 2 part thing i dont think is a matter of milking i though, as its its very common with anime to be in the same set up. Can either be season 1 in part 1 and part 2 or the full series in part 1 and part 2. Its also how itd be shown on tv. Youd have part 1 then several months later part 2
Sometimes they do a set together, like with Cowboy Bebop (albeit it took several years for that ) and Steins;Gate ). But they may not include the extras that youd get by buying individual.
Some are ridiculous though like Fairy Tale . They have about 8+ parts + potential movies, and on bluray thats mental and very old fashioned. Need to buy 4 per series and seen as its an ongoing series it can cost a lot

The standard US release includes both DVDs and BDs and all the extras are presented in HD whereas on the UK release they are presented in SD on a separate DVD.
