Not sure if this is a price error to be honest. £149.99 on Zavvi. RRP of $149.99 state side.
This new Xbox One controller "The Elite" controller is perfect for hardcore gamers and casual gamers alike. With more buttons and design this one is perfect for hours of gaming.
I have added Shopto to the deal as I appreciate not everybody may see Gamestop for £5 cheaper as a deal
Credit to all the guys in the comments
Does not look like a misprice. Shopto have it for £49.85

I did the same.
I ordered my Xbox one with Zavvi, and they held the preorder price despite it being considerably lower than the launch price. They even gave me the one with fifa included despite me ordering one without.
I wouldn't pre order with gamestop again for fear that they decide they want more and cancel it again. If they'd have done that with my Day One edition, I'd have been mighty annoyed.
At least they saved me £44.97 today!

ShopTo are the worst anyway. I once preordered two games with a discount code and paid by paypal. After they took the money, they removed the discount code, and used part of the money for the second game for the first, and refused to ship the second game. Needless to say paypal's dispute procedure sided with me and refunded me for everything, and then ShopTo suspended my account :P

It's not, the t's and c's specify that you have made an offer to purchase at a particular price, that offer is only accepted by the company upon dispatch, and that they have the right to limit availability (i.e. say "theres no stock at that price, sorry)
Section 7 paragraph 3 - "offer to purchase not to sell"
Section 11 paragraph 1 - "order is accepted only after they send a confirmation and despatch the goods"
Section 11 Paragraph 2 - "we reserve the right at any time to reject or correct any order for any reason whatsoever"
The last one is the best
If they keep your money after cancelling the order then you can go after them, but they do not have to fulfil the order.
If they said "oops, we made a mistake" after shipping then that's their problem and they can't expect you to pay more.

But online sales involve an automated service and will accept all transactions because there's no one physically there to accept your payment and rectify the issue at the point of transaction. Once someone does notice it, then they can cancel it. Not the same walking into a shop and doing it online, thus there's different requirements.

Nope, as long as they give you a full refund once the discrepancy has been brought to the retailers attention.
Egoman
16 Jun 15#156
But what about if they have already taken payment for the product? Surely that is binding?
Dr_Bawbag
16 Jun 15#155
As long as they give you a full refund, then there's nothing you can do. So I have no idea what legally binding document you've seen. It's not legit if you have indeed seen one.
Dr_Bawbag
16 Jun 15#154
It's hilarious the amount of people that still don't know their basic rights and still bang on about trading standards, watchdog etc. A retailer is covered for mispriced items, it happens all the time. They don't owe anyone anything. Even if something isn't mispriced, the advertised price is not binding either.
Rock0Jest
16 Jun 15#153
There is a legally binding contract once a retailer accepts an order. The problem is that many terms state that email conformations or taking of money is not them accepting an order. Most say its only accepted once goods are shipped.
ThisName
16 Jun 15#152
No. I know my rights.
Dr_Bawbag
16 Jun 15#151
No. A shop may change the price at any point. The price you see is merely an advertised price, not what you may pay. If it's a misprice, then the retailer is well within its rights not to honour it.

Mine's still showing up in "Orders" (though I suspect it'll disappear from there some time soon).
Definitely worth a try, though - and you never know, a few might slip through the net.
TBH if it doesn't turn up I'll be calling watchdog. They advertised it at this price, so they have to sell it to me at this price. None of this bllks about it only being an invitation to treat. It clearly advertised the price, so isn't a misprice!
Hope they don't take payment any time soon. I've ordered twenty of them - gonna make me a mint on ebay.

I don't care if a controller comes with crappy std AA batteries, or crappy rechargeable batteries, I probably wouldn't use either. I have decent AA rechargeable ones which last days of playing on the 360, days... not flipping 4 hours!

You could try reading the T&C's
"The total price of your order will be charged to your credit card when our shipping and payment notice email has been sent to your email address."
They may be 5x better than existing built-in batteries but that doesn't mean built in batteries couldn't be better because they're both rechargeable batteries. Anyway my issue was not that they're not built in but that they've thrown in everything and the kitchen sink, except the one thing they can charge you extra for which is the battery packs.
But I still have a 360 so where can I get these reliable quality batteries? My existing rechargeables take a long time to charge and the first pair have already died from overuse.Doesn't explain why they couldn't have included the play and charge kit as well, or just some reliable rechargable AA batteries. But surely the future is in hot-swapping batteries like pistol magazines? Even my PSP had multiple batteries that could be swapped in seconds. Although you couldn't keep a PSP on while you swap, a controller going off for a few seconds is not so bad. There have been a lot of times when trying to shake out the AAs from my 360 controller have been a lot more hassle than it would have been to just shove in another battery pack (I have a second but it's unresponsive from overuse).

That's why I said "standard AA batteries". If they gave you rechargables to begin with wouldn't you be better off? Or a rechargeable battery pack like the play and charge kit, which it makes sure to mention is sold separately.
Besides, I have 4 PS3 controllers accumulated over the years so when one runs low I just plug it in and use another. I sit close enough I can still use it when it's plugged in anyway.
This one comes with a 9-foot cable, which means it is longer than the usual recommended viewing distance for any domestic screen size. For all standard users it should be close enough to connect while seated as normal.

I'd much prefer to have AA batteries in a controller. High quality rechargeable batteries like Eneloops are amazing in controllers, easily 5x better than built-in batteries so are alot more convenient. Also you can use a fast charger to charge batteries from dead to maximum in an hour, so if you have more than a pair of these batteries (and you should as quite a few devices uses AAs, e.g. clocks and remotes) you can swap dead batteries out in a flash. And even better, once you charge the battery and leave it, these high quality AA batteries retain more than 80% of their charge for over a year.
Easily the biggest feature I miss having switched from 360 to PS4.

You're meant to charge the controller when the console is in rest mode... That way you get 4-5 hours of gameplay and just charge it when you aren't playing it. Only saying it as it sounds like you aren't doing that but charging it when the console is fully turned on

My xbox360 uses AA, I use rechargeables, can change them in seconds and always have spare, so I never have interrupted gaming.
My brand new PS4 uses a built in battery, which although a tiny bit lighter than the batteries in the 360 controller, has a much lower gameplay time. And I can't change it, so I have to have it plugged in to the console via a usb lead.
Please explain how this is possibly moving forward. Moving bleedin backwards if you ask me.

UK site doesn't list a price but it's the same ETA: October is quite some time away, so you don't want to pay up front for them to hold on to your money so long and then cancel. If you choose a method where you don't pay, though, there's much less risk.

Opening post
This new Xbox One controller "The Elite" controller is perfect for hardcore gamers and casual gamers alike. With more buttons and design this one is perfect for hours of gaming.
I have added Shopto to the deal as I appreciate not everybody may see Gamestop for £5 cheaper as a deal
Credit to all the guys in the comments
Does not look like a misprice. Shopto have it for £49.85

Ah well, worth a try!
EDIT: they've cancelled my pre-order because they got caught up in the E3 hype
https://www.gamestop.co.uk/Help/Index/?section=TermSale
Section 7 paragraph 3 - "offer to purchase not to sell"
Section 11 paragraph 1 - "order is accepted only after they send a confirmation and despatch the goods"
Section 11 Paragraph 2 - "we reserve the right at any time to reject or correct any order for any reason whatsoever"
The last one is the best
If they keep your money after cancelling the order then you can go after them, but they do not have to fulfil the order.
If they said "oops, we made a mistake" after shipping then that's their problem and they can't expect you to pay more.
Anyway, thanks, that's close enough to "calling Watchdog" for me.
Isn't there something in the wording of selling goods online that covers them for situations like this?
Definitely worth a try, though - and you never know, a few might slip through the net.
TBH if it doesn't turn up I'll be calling watchdog. They advertised it at this price, so they have to sell it to me at this price. None of this bllks about it only being an invitation to treat. It clearly advertised the price, so isn't a misprice!
Hope they don't take payment any time soon. I've ordered twenty of them - gonna make me a mint on ebay.
House?
[Top line accurate. Rest of post nonsense.]
gg everyone, especially you ThisName
Almost got a line, but you people with your only ordering 2 at a time really screwed me...
"Your pre-order for Xbox One Elite Controller on XBOX ONE(XB1AC42) has been deleted by ShopTo.Net Admin, this is usually because we can no-longer obtain the product from our suppliers."
If something is priced incorrectly and the order is not accepted or you are unable to transact then thats a different story but I had a confirmation email from gamestop saying to order has been completed.
But Both ShopTo and Gamestop Are Not
Good luck to you all.
damn shopto!
"Hi Nicky,
This is only a holding price until the value has been confirmed and then this will change on the website
Regards
Tris"
"Hi,
If I order at that price will you honour that price?"
"Hello Nick,
Unfortunately as this is only a holding price this does not reflect the price the item will be sold at. The controller will most likely be above £100
Kind regards,
Daniel"
"Because the item is only just announced the price is subject to change, so no I can't guarantee that the price currently on the site will not change.
Kind regards
Ida l Customer Relations Officer"
I Wrote Back to them
"Hi,
If I order at that price will you honour that price?"
And The Reply Was
"Hello again,
No we cannot guarantee that price, it is subject to change.
Kind regards
Ida l Customer Relations Officer"
Just placed an order
A similar controller from Scuf would cost around £160.
Good find, fingers crossed
Fingers crossed.
Then I can change them in seconds, not like on the PS4, where I then plug the controller in using the brilliantly sized 2 foot usb lead included.
"The total price of your order will be charged to your credit card when our shipping and payment notice email has been sent to your email address."

There have been a lot of times when trying to shake out the AAs from my 360 controller have been a lot more hassle than it would have been to just shove in another battery pack (I have a second but it's unresponsive from overuse).
the rrp is $150 plus tax in the US
order states Release: 27/12/2015
Besides, I have 4 PS3 controllers accumulated over the years so when one runs low I just plug it in and use another. I sit close enough I can still use it when it's plugged in anyway.
This one comes with a 9-foot cable, which means it is longer than the usual recommended viewing distance for any domestic screen size. For all standard users it should be close enough to connect while seated as normal.
Im still waiting on my copy of Crackdown 3! Release date... Neveeeeer!
Easily the biggest feature I miss having switched from 360 to PS4.
You're meant to charge the controller when the console is in rest mode... That way you get 4-5 hours of gameplay and just charge it when you aren't playing it. Only saying it as it sounds like you aren't doing that but charging it when the console is fully turned on
My brand new PS4 uses a built in battery, which although a tiny bit lighter than the batteries in the 360 controller, has a much lower gameplay time. And I can't change it, so I have to have it plugged in to the console via a usb lead.
Please explain how this is possibly moving forward. Moving bleedin backwards if you ask me.
