Did they arrive?
In trouble? The terms and conditions state that I'm doing nothing wrong :P This is a hell of a lot more legit than when I turned £150 via "new customer" codes on Nectar into £450 to spend on eBay! I thought I would get in trouble for that one!

Just bought it, but can't redeem the code. App says "Oops, it send you've redeemed this already". Then I noticed it's for new customers only.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling app, but I can't get it to see me as a new user despite a new email address etc. :disappointed:

I'm sure I suggested putting the kettle on at step 8 in the last deal
i don't know if this would work, but just putting it out there just in case you don't have two phones .. or friends
1) refer yourself from groupon to a new email.
2) sign up and buy this groupon
3) apply it to your existing zeek account
4) using your £6 referral, buy another deal from your existing account and pay the extra £3 on top
5) apply that to existing zeek account
so potentially £40 of zeek credit for £12 outlay. IF it works. I know the groupons are only one per customer, but i don't know if the zeek app is able to distinguish that either - if not, then i would have thought that, in theory, you could register multiple groupon accounts and buy the vouchers each time with referrals.

Despite new address, and new sim card, my freshly installed app knew i'd been there before. Maybe because when installing I have to give it access to device id, app history?
In the end I was able to get the activation text on the same phones - but then I had to install the app on completely new devices. Am sure someone can figure out a way around this.

be careful though as i've just had an email saying i can't use the voucher i bought as their "security system" has detected a linked account and the offer is for "new" customers only. i used a different email address and details but every time i tried entering the groupon code on the app, it told me i'd used it before.
it's probably because it's on the same phone to be fair, but i'm most likely going to have to get a refund from groupon as i can't use it.

I used a virtual machine on the Android SDK Manager, worked like a charm, although I used a friends number and she gave me the verification number! 2 x £25 itunes vouchers within 5 minutes, can't complain for £18, I can't see no groupon refer a friend bonus yet but that's no problem.
Can you add multiple vouchers from groupon into Zeek?
terriclarkfan
18 Jun 15#71
App must be tracking IMEI, hence one voucher per handset. TBH, I'd do the same if I were them.
karlie88
18 Jun 15#72
I'd be grateful to know this too. Groupon says it's for new customers only - but perhaps Zeek's system just recognises it as a form of credit?
titchyyyyy
18 Jun 151#73
I tried to add multiple vouchers but it only accepts one on each account.
I got £30 on Phone 1 and £30 on Phone 2, each time I had to pay £1 from my credit card, probably some verification thing, I don't mind though, I got £80 of itunes vouchers for £30 and £12 back on my Groupon, can't complain with that tbh.
edit: If you want an easy "virtual" machine for Android, download Bluestacks, you'll still need a way to access a second sim card but you only need the 4 digit code via text for verfication.
Remember the £1 charge on top via the app. So it's more like a £10 spend for a £30 voucher/gift card.

How many phones have you got??
titchyyyyy
18 Jun 151#82
I've used 2 phones and 2 virtual machines with 4 sim different sim cards. I think you could do it with many virtual machines though as long as you have unlimited sim cards.
I'm on £140 itunes vouchers for £50 exactly at the moment and I've referred 4 groupon accounts for £24. Although I don't really want anything from Groupon, it might come in handy one day.
edit: Sim cards are £0.01p from Amazon with Prime, you don't need any credit on them, you just need to have a text sent to them. As far as I can tell, Zeek verifies account via phone number and email account only, not hardware, I've tested this out by having two Virtual Machines running and changing the email/phone number in a row.

Cheers, managed to get £111 of M&S vouchers for £54, a saving of over 48%!

18 Jun 15#85
Ah, I always thought you needed credit to activate them. Any recommendations? There is an o2 combi sim for 1p I can see.
You get £5 each for referring each other through the "share" code and then when you buy your first voucher, you gain another £5 each, resulting in a total of £30.
Since I'm buying iTunes vouchers, I pay £22 for £60 worth.
Phone 1 buys £15 which activates phone 2 "bonus" £5 and then phone 2 buys £15 which activates phone 1 "bonus" £5 and then I buy another £15 on each account to clear out the account for £30 each, although I have to pay £1 for each order off my card.
I used a blank sim card in my phone that I purchased from Amazon for 1p, it just sends your number a text which is free with 4 digits, that's all!
Any sim should do!

When will I get my reward?
Once we confirm your referral, we'll deposit £6 in Groupon Credit into your account within 7 to 10 days of the deal closing. To check your Groupon Credit balance, click your name in the upper right corner, and then look at the box on the right.
Guess will have to wait until July 8th+ or if they sell out, to find out.

To address a few questions:-
Virtual Machine / Emulator: Bluestacks - Lets you install an android emulator, make sure you create a new gmail to assign for both groupon + google store login + Zeek, works on Windows but I'm sure there is a Mac version if you google it.
How referals work:
Groupon: As long as you've purchased an item, your credit/debit card should be registered, to check this, make another purchase and get to the checkout section, it should allow you to pick a pre-registered card. To make use of this referral, make sure you have a "main" groupon account and create seperate gmails to sign up to Groupon with using your main accounts referral code.
Zeek: Register a Zeek account with one sim/email and another account with the other sim/email, click the share button on both Zeek accounts and input each others code into the other account, your balance will then be at £5. Enter one voucher into each "promo" section of Zeek and both accounts will update to £25 each. You then make your first voucher purchase and the other account will receive £5 taking it up to £30.
I usually purchase £15 (£13 iTunes + £1 from your CC) voucher on each Zeek account which then leaves me with £17 on each account in which I then buy another £15 voucher on each Zeek account which then leaves me with £4 on each account in which I just give up, as there's not much you can do with the extra £4 anyway.
Either way, I end up with £60 itunes vouchers each time for £22, I see no reason why you can't make unlimited amounts of gmails/sim accounts on Zeek using virtual machines, it's certainly not tied to the IMEI as people have suggested but phone number / email account only.
I registered a second account on the same phone using a different email + phone number and it worked flawlessly? Odd.

how can you keep using bluestacks? as it wont take my referral code, ive done it once but not working anymore
titchyyyyy
19 Jun 151#102
I uninstall and reinstall bluestacks, setting it up as a new "device" completely and using the groupon/zeek email as a google store login, seems to work every time so far! I use a second virtual machine for the second account and do exactly the same.
Luckily I bought over 60 sim cards a few months ago from Amazon to go over the £10 mark for free delivery, so they're coming in use at moment big time.
I've happily just paid £120 for £336 in John Lewis vouchers so that I can buy a PS4 console and Batman for £299.00 when it's released in a few days, using the methods I posted above.
haidfitch
19 Jun 15#103
The easiest way around all of it - just create virtual devices. (Only try it if you're comfortable with what you're doing and are willing to read up and learn about it as you'll probably have to make changes to your bios whilst using them)
There are loads of tools out there - one of my favourites is Andy. I used it for testing apps whilst at uni. It's an Android emulator so just use each one as brand new accounts (including new google play accounts) and just make sure you have a phone number to use that isn't already registered and you're good to go?
Use Andy + Bluestacks side-by-side, re-start the emulators as brand new devices each time and have new google play accounts (gmails) to use on both the play store + Zeek, along with a new sim card on each Zeek account and you have UNLIMITED access to massive savings.
Fortunately, I'm a wizz when it comes to computers so I can do the process pretty quickly, hence why I've done it several times now.
Hypothetically speaking , for somebody who repeats this process 10 times with 2 accounts each time, not to bore anybody with the maths but these are the following savings, percentages might be slightly off, but the numbers are certainly not. Also, to mention that referring your self 19 times on groupon (or 20 if you played it cool) will net you between £114 - £120 in credits to spend on groupon, which could be used to purchase a very decent tablet or whatever your heart desires
Does anybody know how long these deals usually run for?

titchyyyyy to irtza
21 Jun 15#133
Basically, to make the most out of this deal you will;
1. Create 2 "new" gmail accounts.
2. Login to your "MAIN" Groupon account - Click here to find your referral code.
3. Log out of your main Groupon account - use the referral code to register twice, making sure you use the same referral code each time.
4. Now you have 2 new Groupon accounts, buy a Zeek voucher on both of the new accounts which will grant your main account £12 credit (£6 each).
5. Download/Install Zeek on two different devices at the same time (One can be a virtual machine if you don't have a second phone/tablet).
6. Register with Zeek using the two new gmails you created, along with a unique telephone number on each account.
7. Click "share" on the Zeek application and input the share code from device 1 into device 2 and visa versa, both accounts will now have £5 in balance.
8. Input the two Zeek vouchers on both your accounts, they will both be updated to £45.
9. Buy a £45~ voucher on device 1, this will give device 2 an extra £5 (£50 total), now buy a £50~ voucher on device 2, which will grant device 1 an extra £5 but will be pretty much useless tbh.
Obviously, if you can find £35 voucher first and then £15 voucher after, you can make the most of the entire balance, but some gift cards are usually either £40/50 in total, but you still save a lot of cash.

I think I did like 25 referrals! Although I've been told to use the credit ASAP otherwise they'll remove it eventually.
Did you sign up with different names and addresses? As far as I know, they can only catch you if you're using the same address or names. Since it was a voucher, you should have signed up using different addresses because you're not having a physical item sent to you.

There are actually quite a lot of vouchers that are sent electronically by email. Hungry House, Marks & Spencer and Debenhams have definitely offered electronic vouchers, you just need to check what type of voucher it is by clicking for more info before purchase.

Managed to get £150 of Tesco gift cards for about £53 this time round thanks to some Groupon Credits from the last deal. Though there haven't been any Amazon of Tesco ones for a few days now. It would be nice to have an alert system for when a voucher/gift card from a certain retailer gets posted.

I thought it was your Zeek voucher credit that you paid for, from the Groupon deal, that expired the beginning of July? I am almost sure I read that, so definitely use your credit sooner rather than later. Any actual referral credit, with Zeek itself, expires within 10 days.
No idea about Groupon referral credit for the site itself, but I do know Zeek just delete people's referral credit, so I don't have any imagine they would have a hesitation deleting people's Groupon credit, if not used in time. Would definitely be worth checking for anyone with a large balance.
ashley212
24 Jun 15#169
yes they will still make a profit, as not all groupon referrals go though, and plus groupon dont but the codes for zeek, are compan's like that, the company's come to them and groupon make about 45% of amount on the site  they are just a intermediary same as zeek, thats how both company's make money easy
titchyyyyy
24 Jun 15#171
Haha I did! Although, I probably won't use the groupon credit regardless as I'm not really interested in anything from the site. Eventually they do find out you've referred your self several times and will just remove the credit anyway, so I'd have to use it instantly. Shame that the Zeek vouchers are out of stock and won't be coming back for a while/ever, especially if they read this thread!

24 Jun 15#173
They are? It says "Sorry, this deal is NO LONGER AVAILABLE" to me?
No idea why I couldn't find this deal, thanks a lot
I've just realised, even without the vouchers via Groupon, you can save a lot of money if you can find the £15 vouchers, if you refer two accounts together you will gain £10 on one account for free and £5 on the other and if you buy two lots of £15 vouchers you are getting a £30 voucher for £15 exactly (50% off), considering it'll cost you £10 for a £15 voucher on account 1 and £5 for a £15 voucher on account two. You'll be left with a remainder of £5 on account one and I suppose you could buy another voucher for £10 which makes it £25 for £55 vouchers overall (54~% off).
Unfortunately most of the £15 vouchers are from Costa Coffee, iTunes, Hungryhouse and Zizzi, but they're usually e-vouchers and you can obtain them instantly. Regardless, if you use any of these places, you can save quite a bit, for example, a £20 voucher from Hungryhouse will cost you £13 or a £40 voucher will cost you £21 which is a great saving for a family night in!

They cannot reverse or cancel any voucher or code you've purchased from them, impossible. They could possibly not send out the physical voucher you've purchased from them though, but then you would be entitled to a refund from Groupon as the code will be classed as void.
Also, if Groupon close your account, they will have to refund any purchases that you are entitled to a refund with.
I used the same card for all purchases but now I cannot get Zeek to validate any voucher code that I have entered, so I can't even get to the point of using my card. I'm not entirely sure what they have done, but the only similarity between my old accounts and my new one is the I.P address I am using.
I could easily get two new sim cards, two new devices and two different proxies to bypass the entire process but for the sake of saving 50%~ for vouchers that I actually don't require any more, I'm not going to bother!
edit: My Groupon credits are rolling in thick and fast, every time I refresh I've got £6 or £12 more, I'm blowing it ALL on those mystery gifts, regardless if I don't win a highly expensive item, I'll at least be able to sell the items on eBay that I do get which should pay off for the entire lot of the £9 vouchers I bought. Haha.

25 Jun 15#205
How did you manage to get the Groupon credits? I referred myself a couple of times but nothing so far..
titchyyyyy to raphaelswift
25 Jun 15#207
It takes 7 days from the exact time you complete the order on your referred accounts! I was told to spend the credits as soon as possible because they'll guarantee to cancel my account / remove the entire credit balance within the next few days, especially when they notice 25+ referrals!
As far as I know, it's 7 days after you purchase a deal on the referred accounts, nothing to do with Zeek at all.
The Mystery Gift buy on Groupon is basically a "lucky dip", you're guaranteed an item to be delivered to you but the price of the item will be between £26.97 - £539.00 - obviously it's like the lottery, maybe only 0.5% of the 2000+ people who buy the deal will win the big items but regardless, you get a few items that would most likely sell for more than £10~ on eBay which means you can transfer your groupon credit into actual cash to spend elsewhere, but who knows, you could win a big item!

They could contact Amazon and say they sold a gift card and it's been purchased from a fraudster and it could be reversed.
Saying that, it's not entirely fraud, as my friend has pointed out, you are paying Groupon for a voucher towards Zeek, yes, their terms and conditions state that it is for new customers only but if you are applying the voucher to a "new customer" account, you are abiding by the rules set by the company. They clearly didn't do any internal testing when they created the app as they should have known that people would abuse a voucher that is clearly saving people hundreds and hundreds of pounds.
I wouldn't worry too much though; if anything, you would be refunded directly from Groupon as you would be able to prove that the code you received was voided/cancelled/didn't work.

Hi guys, I got this email from Groupon Risk Management regarding the referral:
Hi,
Thank for your purchases from Groupon and referring your friends as new customers. We greatly appreciate your custom and loyalty.
We have recently looked into your account and we have reason to believe that you may have abused the refer-a-friend feature, perhaps without realising it. Creating referrals yourself in order to gain referral credit is a clear breach of Groupon's Terms and Conditions and we are now monitoring your account for this activity. If this is not the case and you can provide proof that the referrals you received credit for are genuine then we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Please consider this a warning. We have revoked all credit obtained through false accounts. If we continue to see suspicious use of the refer-a-friend feature we will exercise our right to terminate your account.
Kind regards,

Hi guys, I need to use my codes as they expire on 1st July. So any help would be appreciated.
So far I have already bought a voucher off zeek a week ago, so I already have 1 zeek app on my s5, when I tried to use the groupon it said "oops this is only for new customers" lol.
Before I mess anything up, I wanted to know the best way to utilise the vouchers I bought the £27.50 for £40 voucher? I understand I need 1 email and 1 phone number for each zeek code?
So before I mess it up, can I just ask? What is the best way to do this? so that I can use my already opened zeek account referral and groupon codes etc?
Is it as simple as refer second zeek account with referral from existing account referral code? Ie download zeek app on 2nd device, go to promo codes enter referral first, and then enter groupon code? and then do the same on another device?
Also will the credit just stay in app until I want to use it or is there an expiration on when you need to buy something by?
Thanks in advance

Do you buy multiple vouchers on Groupon using the same account or do you have to use a different email address each time for both Groupon and Zeek?
Opening post
Here's a replay of how we maximised this last time. Needs 2x phones and some faffing.
1. If you already have a Groupon account refer yourself and earn £6 using a new email, else go through quidco
2. Buy zeek voucher for £9
3. Repeat step 1 and 2, so you have two vouchers from two groupon accounts. you've earned £12 and spent £18.
4. Download and setup zeek on phone 1 (needs a telephone number for activation)
5. Find your refer a friend code on phone 1 inside the zeek application
6. Download and setup zeek on phone 2
7. Find your refer a friend code on phone 2 inside the zeek application
8. Use your phone 1 zeek referal code and a groupon code in phone 2 (enter in promo's) - earn £5 in zeek credit, for a total of £25
9. Use your phone 2 zeek referal code and a groupon code in phone 1 - earn another £5, for a total of £25 on this phone
10. When you've found the voucher you want, cash in
For a bit of messing around a £18 outlay gets you;
£12 in groupon credits
£50 to spend in the zeek marketplace (where on average high street or online gift vouchers are discounted by 10%)

9. Use your phone 2 zeek referal code and a groupon code in phone 1 - earn another £5, for a total of £25 on this phone
10. When you've found the voucher you want, cash in
For a bit of messing around a £18 outlay gets you;
£12 in groupon credits
£50 to spend in the zeek marketplace (where on average high street or online gift vouchers are discounted by 10%)
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/50-john-lewis-voucher-for-20-40-itunes-vouchers-for-12-50-many-more-via-groupon-2202693
In the end I was able to get the activation text on the same phones - but then I had to install the app on completely new devices. Am sure someone can figure out a way around this.
it's expired now anyway and I'm **** because I never got the chance to see if referring myself would have worked .. bought the voucher in the other account but phone started playing up and wouldn't let me sign back in to groupon in the original account.
so "only" got a £20 voucher to spend .. ggrrrrrrr
Does this effectively mean you could use the voucher for £20 to spend on the Groupon site itself ?
If you access the deal directly via the HUKD affiliate link (Get Deal button) it says "sorry, all done".
Yet, accessing it in a fresh browser tab via the groupon local dashboard and clicking view deal shows it clearly to be still available.
Groupon mugging off HUKD, or inter-company funny business?
In any case, it still on.
#edit
although saying that, the referral credit isn't applied until up to 7 days after the deal has closed so it wouldn't have worked anyway. no worries, still got the voucher to spend with a £5 referral credit on top though
I've brought one .. but i cant find the promotion code to appy on the zeek app.
and thanks for posting they are still available very crafty!!
figured out the code i needed use .. duh !! thanks op
x
my voucher code is screwed - keeps telling me I've used it before when it's bloody new!
Edt: ignore me, found it when you press 'Share'
I did the same but keeps saying paypal pending -not sure if I have bought it or not?
it's probably because it's on the same phone to be fair, but i'm most likely going to have to get a refund from groupon as i can't use it.
Can you add multiple vouchers from groupon into Zeek?
I got £30 on Phone 1 and £30 on Phone 2, each time I had to pay £1 from my credit card, probably some verification thing, I don't mind though, I got £80 of itunes vouchers for £30 and £12 back on my Groupon, can't complain with that tbh.
edit: If you want an easy "virtual" machine for Android, download Bluestacks, you'll still need a way to access a second sim card but you only need the 4 digit code via text for verfication.
Groupon - £9 ( referral credit never came )
Zeek - £20
Zeek referral - £5
Total spent = £9
Total gained = £25.45
L (capital) - l (small)
I (capital) - i (small)
0 (zero) - o (ohhhhhhhhh)
I'm on £140 itunes vouchers for £50 exactly at the moment and I've referred 4 groupon accounts for £24. Although I don't really want anything from Groupon, it might come in handy one day.
edit: Sim cards are £0.01p from Amazon with Prime, you don't need any credit on them, you just need to have a text sent to them. As far as I can tell, Zeek verifies account via phone number and email account only, not hardware, I've tested this out by having two Virtual Machines running and changing the email/phone number in a row.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/O2-Standard-Pay-Combi-Card/dp/B001FSK0BA/ref=sr_1_2_lp_prime?s=telephone&ie=UTF8&qid=1434655111&sr=1-2&keywords=pay+as+you+go
Since I'm buying iTunes vouchers, I pay £22 for £60 worth.
Also it says you have to have a credit card on file , which I don't !
Virtual Machine / Emulator:
Bluestacks - Lets you install an android emulator, make sure you create a new gmail to assign for both groupon + google store login + Zeek, works on Windows but I'm sure there is a Mac version if you google it.
Odd.
There are loads of tools out there - one of my favourites is Andy. I used it for testing apps whilst at uni. It's an Android emulator so just use each one as brand new accounts (including new google play accounts) and just make sure you have a phone number to use that isn't already registered and you're good to go?
Also adding to the sim card race;
O2 Free Sim Cards
Vodafone - Free sim cards
EE - Free sim cards (100gb 4G Data free)
Giffgaff free sim cards
(Based on 20 accounts applying £20 vouchers and receiving £10 in refer credits each)
£15 vouchers - £380 profit (63% saving)
£25 vouchers - £300 profit (60% saving)
£30 vouchers - £360 profit (62% saving)
£50 vouchers - £490 profit (52% saving)
Does anybody know how long these deals usually run for?
I was too frightened to do more than that.. just in case groupon/zeek come back to me for misusing the offer!!
(p.s. you are very clever on computers.. and I am glad you are sharing your knowledge to us as that definitely helped me to save some money.. so thankful to you.)
Thanks
I managed it 28 times (£168 groupon credit - I don't expect to receive this, since they're very funny about you referring your self, even using different emails), I've got £840 in vouchers and only paid £308 for them! It might have been a little bit greedy but I was planning on spending £300+ in John Lewis anyway. Although, I know somebody in this thread who has done it over 54 times for over £1000 in profits (£590 spent, £1620 vouchers worth), so I don't feel too bad!
How long did it take to get the £5 for referring an account to bring you up to £30? I made a purchase on one account but the other account never received the £5 bonus
£27.50 x £27.50

works on mine
Edit: Now gone again.
In trouble? The terms and conditions state that I'm doing nothing wrong :P This is a hell of a lot more legit than when I turned £150 via "new customer" codes on Nectar into £450 to spend on eBay! I thought I would get in trouble for that one!
just keep groupon referrals low and they shouldnt notice lol
1. a new sim each time
2. a new andrioid enironment like bluestacks
and then you can roll in the fun? Only had two sims but thanks for saving me 40+ quid. Will look out for this next time lol
But i hope they have some more £9 soon
Edit: found it, but it's saying the £9 one is sold out.
I've not used Groupon before.
Did you sign up with different names and addresses? As far as I know, they can only catch you if you're using the same address or names. Since it was a voucher, you should have signed up using different addresses because you're not having a physical item sent to you.
and they all got delivered
There are actually quite a lot of vouchers that are sent electronically by email. Hungry House, Marks & Spencer and Debenhams have definitely offered electronic vouchers, you just need to check what type of voucher it is by clicking for more info before purchase.
Has anyone else noticed most of the New Vouchers section is on a loop? When a group of vouchers hits the bottom it gets sent back up to the top. :smirk:
Still haven't used all my credit so am peeved with this news.
So if you built up a large credit make sure you spend it all sooner rather than later.
No idea about Groupon referral credit for the site itself, but I do know Zeek just delete people's referral credit, so I don't have any imagine they would have a hesitation deleting people's Groupon credit, if not used in time. Would definitely be worth checking for anyone with a large balance.
Regardless, if you use any of these places, you can save quite a bit, for example, a £20 voucher from Hungryhouse will cost you £13 or a £40 voucher will cost you £21 which is a great saving for a family night in!
got this message too after inputing card details and pressing pay,
To complete this process we need to get to know you better, please contact us
Had to use a fresh device altogether, it finally accepted groupon code and 1 ref code, but now it seems the payment provider has blocked my account, need to send them proof of address...
Currently, I'm at 18 x £1 transactions for Zeek Israel.
Btw, has the deal ended now or am I following a bad link again?
I tried it once more with a new device, new sim card and new promo code, it didn't work for me, I'm guessing they've I.P banned me or something like that. I'm out :P
edit: Instant refund from Groupon, it's all good.
Haha.
As far as I know, it's 7 days after you purchase a deal on the referred accounts, nothing to do with Zeek at all.
The Mystery Gift buy on Groupon is basically a "lucky dip", you're guaranteed an item to be delivered to you but the price of the item will be between £26.97 - £539.00 - obviously it's like the lottery, maybe only 0.5% of the 2000+ people who buy the deal will win the big items but regardless, you get a few items that would most likely sell for more than £10~ on eBay which means you can transfer your groupon credit into actual cash to spend elsewhere, but who knows, you could win a big item!
and what is this mystery gift buy on groupon?
Hi,
Thank for your purchases from Groupon and referring your friends as new customers.
Kind regards,
Thanks I feel so much better now...
No good vouchers except Amazon... :disappointed:
Thanks in advance
and thanks Karlie88 for the pointer to this thread
Edit: I just used the other code, and it worked (I used the TAKE5 one on here and the other was from ebay).
Anyone know how long the credit is valid for?
