Vectone has really good price plans. But it's service is becoming bad beyond belief. Not the occasional glitches, but non-working internet, SMS for several days in a row, numerous call connection problems (both inbound and outbound). Tech support (assuming you can reach them) just logging complaints, but nothing gets resolved. Looks like some global company-wide meltdown, some people are already asking whether they are going bankrupt...
I would suggest staying away from them for a while.

For the love of god do NOT transfer your number to these cowboys!
Their deals change all the time, customer service is non-existent.
I tried this for a month before deciding, when I bought the sim, calls to Africa were included. Next month it was not. If you see now, International calls are no longer included altogether.
Not worth moving permanently to. Its a cowboy setup. If you look online, you will see people have had a mare getting the PAC code to transfer their number out.
Try it if you can but don't jump in and commit your number before you're sure is my advice.

I still remember back when Vectone started up and they could be found in pretty much most bus stations, train stations across the UK with usually an Indian bloke behind a tiny white/green/blue stall bossing around 3-4 other Indians. They'd hand out so many that you'd probably sit on one on the public transport instead of a newspaper. Anyway I used to use them for international calls a while back and the first instance I encountered a problem their customer service was so atrocious that I waited around two weeks before I finally got a reply to the issues I encountered and even that was a pathetic copy & paste robotic reply. Personally wouldn't ever go near Vectone and if you do just make sure you don't take your main number with you because you probably won't be with them that long.

I have vectone sim as on the bundle I have I can use minutes between UK & international, which works for me. I find the network is ok as they use EE and I am in an area with decent coverage. However Customer service is non-existent. They messed up my number porting and for 3 weeks my number wouldn't work. However since then I've not had a reason to call customer service so am happy to continue using it.
Tethering - while not allowed. Occasionally in case of emergencies I've managed to use it without getting any warning or issues. However technically tethering is not allowed and it is very easy for them to spot it - maybe I've just been lucky.

Phsycronix
3 Jun 15#49
Now, this sounds just like what I've been looking for. I do have a really (probably!) stupid question though...
Is this scenario possible? I.e. how I read all the blurb and T's & C's etc - If you were to order two sims - when they come and you put them in the phone(s) and activate them, you could then make Vectone to Vectone calls for free without ever topping up? It seems that as soon as you activate a sim, you are on the "Starter" tariff - which INCLUDES V to V calls/texts. It only changes to "Standard" tariff when you first top up (which still includes V to V) - but what if you never bothered? I can't see anything in the blurb that states you've GOT to top up. Just that you have to USE the service once every 180 days. Not make a CHARGEABLE call...
Now, someone with a better thinking head on than mine - please tell me where/if my logic is flawed. If I'm wrong, it still seems incredibly cheap though - only £12 a year (£1/month Pocket Saver) for an emergency phone that'll always have minutes/txts/data on.
Thanks for pointing this out keebb9.
Regards, Phsy.

But I kept having data connection issues. Some times there was no data connection, other times there was. When there was it was good speed like 8meg. Might of been my phone though or settings. This company took ages to port my number over - I thought it had been lost forever. The customer service was atrocious - kept promising it would be done by the end of the day, and even "accidentally" hanging up if things got a bit tough for them.
