Good deal, heat added. I was all ready to sign up, however I tested the signal in my house with free Vodaphone and O2 SIMs and could not get any signal whatsoever. My current EE SIM gets 3-bars in the same spot!! Enough said
Unfortunately, the £9.99/month (unlimited minutes/texts and 5GB Data (up to 4G) EE retention deal posted previously on HUKD has now expired and has been raised to £11.99.

This deal is SCORCHING! (If you are with TT)
I am currently with talktalk, the ADSL was slow, since gone on to 78Meg Fibre, and I get what I was promised.
Very fast and very reliable. I will be cancelling my Three AYCE @ £30/30days for this, hopefully it is usable, if it is then I will be staying with it. If not, it will have cost me £12 to find out. £18 a month is too high a premium to pay for 4g data.

I would agree with the comment about hoodwinking customers to spend outside their plan. You get a text when you have 100MB left, but nothing when it expires or any indication of how much (17p per MB). Oh, and their app delays it by 24 hours too.
Can't wait to leave. Coverage on Vodafone is shockingly bad.

Exactly & sometimes they don't even send a Text or there's not enough warning. There is also up to 48hr delay on website usage ( when it's working) , which is the only way of checking your usage.
I was astounded when I learnt they don't have a facility to get usage by Text msg etc. , which has been available with every other Network in the world I've ever used since inception of mobile phones :smirk:

28 Apr 152#64
I 2nd that ( the part where they suck !
I've got 3 sims with them & have spent at least 12 hours on the phone to them in past 2 mths (trying to get them to amend/correct my plan to what their Loyalty Dept promised ) being passed from pillar to post & every 'Guarantee' from at least 6 of their managers I'v spoken to so far, has been reneged on, despite confirmation that it is recorded on computer system with the Loyalty team.
They don't provide the very basic facility for customers to get Text info of usage , which is unbelievable in this day & age. However, I'm now beginning to believe this is a deliberate policy to hoodwink customers with horrendous 'Charges outside of Plan' !
Their staff are completely ineffective, which stems from the their appalling computerised system, lack of training & outdated website . The latter is repeatedly down or 'Under Maintenance' & very difficult/time consuming to navigate - despite the fact the website is the only way to check your usage.
The moral of this story is that unless you have:
a) unlimited spare time & patience
b) exceptional tolerance levels
c) very low stress level
d) ability to suffer fools gladly
e) masochistic tendencies & enjoy confrontation
f) able to understand strong Indian accents & their names
g) don't mind being lied to
h) unable to check your usage, etc etc ....
then don't be tempted by their 'very competitive prices', as you may well end up being hospitalised !!!:confused::confused:

Is there cashback available on this deal?
sb1970 to simpleaddict
28 Apr 15#63
From the T&C's - Voicemail is included in your minutes allowance. If you run out of minutes, it’s on us.
Currently Top CashBack (which I use) are offering £21.00 but looking on the Quidco site they seem to be offering 'upto' £60.00. Might be worth looking into further (I don't have a Quidco account so can't check).

Oh ok so it rings alternative numbers to 0870/0845 etc?

So you won't be charged by TT for using this app?
With unlimited minutes you can use this app without go over any limit right?
sb1970 to simpleaddict
28 Apr 15#61
It dials an alternate 03 number which is included in your month 'unlimited' allowance.
You can set the app to be used everytime you call an 08 number from your phones dialler or you can fire up the app and type the number in and it will tell you if they have an alternative number to use. Occasionally it won't have an alternative but it's not that often.
The mins use on the call will come out of your 'Unlimited calls' allowance so you won't be charged.
simpleaddict
28 Apr 15#58
Will it still be worth it after price increase?
How exactly does WeQ4U work as I thought you will be charged for dialling free phone and premium numbers?
sb1970 to simpleaddict
28 Apr 15#59
For us, the price increase will not make much difference as we get what we need for a good price already and an extra £2 per month for all 4 of us isn't much. But your circumstances may be different to us.
WeQ4U works by using a large database of 'Landline' numbers for the 0870/0845 etc numbers and calls them instead. It's like the website 'say no to 0870'. It doesn't have every number covered but has saved us a loads of money in the past.
sb1970
28 Apr 15#57
Think you need to give 30 days notice that's all.
I wasn't aware of any price increases but after a quick Google it would seem that most TalkTalk products are increasing in June. It looks like the TalkTalk mobile Sims will go up by 50p each.
Also (forgot to mention earlier) you can use apps like WeQ4U to call alot of 0800,0870,0845 numbers free of charge only using your inclusive minutes.

28 Apr 15#51
Seems a great deal.
Just a few questions.
Is the internet really that poor and does talktalk run off vodaphone?
Is this a 12 month contract or rolling contract?
Can you ring free phone number from the usage?
sb1970 to simpleaddict
28 Apr 15#55
Firstly you need to be a TalkTalk home phone/broadband customer to obtain these SimO Mobile deals.
The internet speed /coverage will depend on Vodaphone's coverage in your area. It might be good/strong or it might be weak. It's best to check with either someone you know who is on Vodaphone or by looking on the coverage checker on the Vodaphone website.
It's a 30 day rolling contract.
From the T&C's - free phone numbers starting 08 (except 0800 benefit claim numbers) & other non-standard numbers. 0845 & 0870 charged at 35p/min.
Hope that helps.

28 Apr 15#52
I had a similar issue earlier in my contract and it was a nightmare to resolve. It's actually a block that TalkTalk put on, it's nothing to do with speed/signal. It was hard to get them to sort it due to their shocking CS but I did in the end with several phone calls, took a few weeks though. Just thought I'd let you know, good luck.

Maybe for you but for us (4 family members on various TT mobile simO deals) we all get perfectly good 3g internet which is fast enough to watch all Youtube videos we want. We are in a village in Kent so not a large city too.
We spend £22.50 per month for all 4 Sim cards and have enough data allowance each month to keep everyone happy.

Got TalkTalk home phone + Fibre 38mb Broadband + 2 mobile sims. Pretty sure the mobile is still with Vodafone and the mobile signal is good and so is the internet (H+ mainly). Only problem I have with them is that what you agree to does not always happen.... Usually have to make a couple of calls to sort it out, but if you choose the leaving Talktalk option when you call you get put through to a UK centre, which resolves any issues. Its cheap and to be honest, I would recommend. If I wasn't paying £2.50 per sim for medium service I would upgrade. Hot Deal.

Get 40Mbps Sync and download speeds of 35Mbps (4.5MBps). There are still so many people who don't know the difference between a byte and a bit, suppose someone has to buy all those iPhones!
Never had a single fault with Landline in the last 20 months.
TalkTalk Mobile (Voda) get good coverage where I am with download speeds of 6Mbps. Use around 1100MB of my 1500 allowance on an average month.
Can't complain really..
So - thank you Talk Talk!

Re the op's deal, today I was told by TT sales that it was a 12 month contract and they used Vodafone.
I was on an 30 day XL tariff getting 2,000 mins, unlimited texts and 4gb data for £11.25 a month so for an extra 75p I'll now get unlimited everything and won't have to worry about the price going up after 12 months.
Still voted hot.
Also, can use the Vodafone short codes, i.e. to completely disable answer phone.
I doubt it will stay unlimited when O2 is used from November...
There is still no date as yet to when the changeover will take place.

My talktalk broadband used to be very reliable (though slow at peak times).
Since upgrading to fibre, its now over 40mb, but less reliable. (but cheap)
Wifes mobile service is good, has "H" 3g, but dosnt use it enough to give honest and reliable opinion.
Only buy this if...
- You're already suffering with Talktalk home broadband and are locked into a contract so can't switch.
- You live in an area where Vodafone 3G coverage actually exists, and isn't so slow it's unusable.
If you want unlimited data I suggest you look past TT....you will regret it if you sign up hoping to save £2-£3
Talktalk 3g is effectivly 3.5g (hsdpa) around our way (lincolnshire).
Personally think the £7.50 a month (2gb data/700mins/unlimited texts) is better deal.
I know some people seem to be lucky and dont have issues, but the unusable service I recieved is enough to prevent me from going back.
that said, you have to already be a customer for this deal, so presumably anyone taking up on it will already know if theyre happy with the service...in which case may be ok.
I personaly, would rather pay a few quid extra and use 3 network with 4g included.
looks like £40 cashback via Quidco if I'm understanding that correctly says SIMO contracts.
