Panasonic on the label.
Rubbish cheap parts inside.

What about Apple and other branded products which are manufactured in China ?
What about Nike which are manufactured in Indonesia ...
I believe this is manufactured up to Panasonic Standard and pass their QC.
So it does not really matter which countries are making it ...

This might be a good TV, just don't buy it thinking it's a Panasonic. Not that I'd buy a TV from Currys, when they learn to play by the SoGA 'rules' I might reconsider.

I'm with you on that one. I won't touch them after a terrible after sales experience :-(

Currys will sell you a warranty even if the product comes with a 5 year one as standard, I was buying a watercooler heatsink and the cheeky sales man tried to sell a 3 year currys warranty!

Don't buy anything from Currys. Phone JL to ask for a price match instead.

I can't see where on that page you're getting the info from it's made by Vestel, or that Vestel are even all that bad. Surely they have to manufacture to Panasonic's spec?
Their Wiki page doesn't list Panasonic as someone they manufacture for either
The Curry's page also has a link to 69 positive Revoo reviews so is it really all that bad?
Sorry, I'm not trying to be funny. I just haven't heard of Vestel myself and from what I can see at first glance, this doesn't look all that bad?

I've always been a fan of Panasonic stuff, but a recent purchase of a Panasonic tv went straight back. Not even remotely comparable to a similarly priced Samsung.

Parents bought one of these and took it back. The sound on it was shocking. Picture quality wasn't much better to be honest

Nothing Panasonic about it, it even has Vestel Menu's.
Another decent name used under licence, it's getting worse.

Glad i got my Panasonic 50GT60 before this crap was churned out.
Your analogy is flawed, this TV is equivalent to apple selling Chinese knock-offs.

I never realized Panasonic allowed this to happen, quite shocking really.
It takes years to achieve a good reputation, yet loosing one can happen really quickly. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
Panasonic ending production of plasmas in 2014 and now this, as a Panny TV fan I'm not happy!

What the hell, Panasonic, how could you sell out, how could you!
I guess the only way to check if it's a proper Panny is by looking at: http://www.panasonic.com/uk/consumer.html
Hitachi are a top make IF it's the proper Japanese stuff...they are big over there...but are now rebadged cheap crap in Argos. I got a genuine Hitachi plasma two world cups ago and still going strong...whilst I see others with their flashy Samsungs not lasting as long...

Got my Nana this knowing it was possibly made by another firm HD picture on built in free view is sharp sky HD looked good and sounds seemed pretty clear for size and spec she can't complain I paid over 500 for a 42" Sony bravia led a couple of years back and this is on par for the money.

You bought a completely different TV a couple of years ago, and you use this as a benchmark. How incredibly insightful.

Plasma or LCD? Remember to post back in 3 years time...it'd be good if all Samsungs were as reliable as yours..

People should realise that Vestel don't make TV's to other companies specifications. They are all their own in-house designs using cheap generic parts and basically the only thing that changes is the badge on the front and the name printed on the box. You could buy a Vestel made supermarket own brand Television (the £280 50" Polaroid from Asda - quite popular on here is a good example) and it would be identical to this Panasonic - Same Panel, Boards etc only a lot cheaper.

Maybe you should read before passing a sarcastic comment.
As I mentioned earlier, I don't doubt some will be happy with this TV, though I'd buy a cheaper version from a supermarket. You'd likely get better after sales service there too.

Sharp have just made big ties with Vestel on all their White goods in Europe.

It makes sense, half of the new Panasonic washing machines you see in the shops are Vestel rebadged too. One reason why they are suddenly cheaper than before.
Earlier poster here was correct, please remember Vestel do not make products specifically for a brand. They make cheap tat and then sign up brands to put their badge to them but there will be NO input from the brand in terms of how it's made, only the choice of spec.
Most vessel products are mediocre at best.

From someone who works in a Currys store, this is a Vestel model, just like the Jvc 50" at the same price. If you really want to purchase an entry level LED tv at that size, without spending a fortune the Panasonic AS520 is a better option.

From someone who works in a Currys store, I can confirm this is a vestel model, just like the JVC 50" at the same price. Cheap components and poor quality. If you want to invest in a large entry level LED without breaking the bank, the Panasonic AS520 would be a slightly better option.
