CTM gave AA at £106 was cheapest. Quidco AA came up with £132 and £26 (possible} CB. Looks like AA just added CB onto premium. Maybe will work for other insurers if you've time to find out.

GlennHoward, jman (and anyone else having problems with ERV) - try entering your policy number again but only the numeric part. Don't add the letters at the start. Worked for me!

Went with an ERV policy at £1.36 and got the policy number working in the app straight away. Thanks for the heads up OP.

Same thing has happened to me. Did the application on my PC though, not iOS.

Previously all you had to do was buy a mobile phone contract every 24 months and spend hundreds of pounds with a single supplier.

Now you are expected to buy a product from a single supplier every 12 months. What a con.

Im in the same boat. I dont think I was logged in CTM but after i purchased the policy from ERV showed otherwise. I also called them up and they confirmed the policy had been bought through CTM. I tried the app with my ref no but it didnt work. Sent an email to CTM and now waiting to hear back from them!!!!

Wasn't sure if I'd logged In to CTM first time round when I did the ERV travel insurance and the reference code didn't work. So I did it again but this time made sure 100% I was logged in and then went to my quotes, checked again I was still logged in, and then went through and purchased again. Guess what?! It still didn't accept my reference! So that's twice now. Buggered if I'm gonna keep trying. I wonder why it didn't work for me and how I can get it accepted.?? Did it via IOS app if it makes any difference!

Real shame about Odeon using this as an excuse to change their Bargain Tuesday to Monday so you can't use this - they have never really been customer focused and always thought they were in it purely for the biggest profit

Cheers for that. Looks like Odeon have made a bit of a boob of this by giving different information to different people, and not expecting those people to talk about it. Wonder why the're being so selective? You'd think they would have a 'one size fits all' policy for something like this.

People have been questioning this on the Odeon Facebook page, and the reply was that Bargain Tuesdays is moving to Mondays, but some cinemas are removing it completely.

I'm in south east so I suppose it is one explanation for them having sent 2 very similar emails!

I haven't voted either way as didn't want to vote it down for my personal preference situation.

It looks as if it will great for the majority, but for me this is awful news! As a single guy/individual movie goer it looks as if I will continue to be discrimated against by having to pay full price :disappointed:.

In an ideal world I would have liked it to simply be 1/2 price tickets or...single movie goers get a popcorn and drink for free if they cannot take advantage of 2 for 1.

When I heard EE wednesday were ending, I was quite happy and thought it would force prices down generally on all days/times to try to get people to go. But this just means prices can continue to be increased as people will rush to go on 2 nights now instead.

I read something above that Bargain Tuesday is moving to Mondays. Is this true for Cineworld too? If so can you provide some information for me.

This is only time I would tend to go to the movies myself, so if this promotion is removed then it is unlikely that I will ever grace my local cinema again (unless of course I meet someone that shares my love of movies :-p).

Empire cinemas are definitely participating in this offer. It is valid for full price tickets only. Looks like they are keeping Saverday Tuesday as well for those that do not use comparethemarket. Our local Empire do 241 tickets on Mondays by signing up to the local papers' film club on their website free of charge. No annoying emails and phone calls either!

Cold from me, getting rid of bargain Tuesday, as a disabled user I lose out.

Paid £1.53 for my travel insurance, and my policy number was made up of 2 letters / 2 letters / 6 numbers / 8 numbers.

It was the 6 numbers part that registered successfully for 12 months.

Also, the above post is utter tosh. It's not in ANY way like a Tesco goose chase. You don't even need to leave the house.

You also don't need to "repeatedly buy expensive products" (or repeatedly buy anything, infact) as has already been verified by those buying a single travel insurance policy at the cost of less than a portion of chips (or 4x txts to the holy orange Wednesday number, if you prefer).

Lets also not forget, it includes Tuesdays too.

It looks like people can take out a 1 day travel insurance policy for as little as £1.37, and then get 2 for 1 for a year.

It's cheaper than a sim+texts, open to more people (or at least easier, for those not on orange/EE), and is also now two days instead of one.

I can't see how this isn't the better deal.

This is pretty rubbish in comparison to Orange Wednesdays. Orange Wednesdays could be used by anyone via a PAYG SIM, which cost next to nothing (or sometimes actually nothing) to get hold of, and just 38p a text for each screening. As people here are discovering, you have to repeatedly buy expensive products to qualify for this, so not much of a deal. :disappointed: Heck, it's nearly (but not quite) in Tesco in-store only goose chase deal territory deal terms ! :wink:

Tested the £1.37 day travel insurance, didn't work for me. Asks for a qualifying purchase. Not sure if it's because I've only just purchased the insurance 5 minutes ago though, but it was a long shot anyway!

I claimed the toy on my car insurance 6 months ago, and have just got the movie offer aswell so I dont think it makes any difference.

Mine says that too and i was logged in when purchased. I have sent an email to query the problem

This is great news for people who don't use cashback sites to buy there insurance.
You can generally get anything from £30-£100 cashback on insurance.

Won't be anywhere near as successful as Orange Wednesday. Especially since it seems to just be one per customer despite how many policies you take out. With Orange you could just get multiple sims and go out with a big group of friends with half going free, now just one person goes free.

Got mine! Will be going on Tuesday, don't have to put up with the myriad of kids now

Yes , last year I had a policy for a day trip to Blackpool and lost my hat. I claimed on my one day insurance and within a week I was reimbursed. :stuck_out_tongue:

This deal is actually better than orange Wednesdays. As I suspected, and as others have mentioned it would appear you could just buy cheap 1 day travel insurance for ~£3. Seeing as orange was 35p per ticket, then over 12 months you could spend more. Plus this is also available to use on Tuesday or Wednesday. In cineworld at least, it's cheaper on a Tuesday too.

It would be greatif you could get 2for1 tickets by taking Travel Insurance, I just got a quote (for a policy I would never use) for £2.74!.

Other free options would be changing energy suppliers or applying for a credit card but for both you would loose out on potential cashback of (up to £30 for switching energy) and of cause a credit card application could affect your credit rating.

I just sign on, done home insurance 9 months agos, got the toy and they gave me 3 months membership, enjoy.

Seems to work with historic policies. I took out home insurance with them a year or so ago. It's just activated it for me now.

Darn, got travel insurance from moneysupermarket not long ago, missed out there. Would love some camera gear insurance but they don't do that. Maybe my mum would like some travel insurance....

However if you do buy or have bought in the last year, it will work out even better than EE Wednesday as there will be no charge for a text each time. Also allows Tuesday as well as Wednesday, so more versatility.
Have just activated mine and will be interesting to see if it works with a cineworld card the way EE did.
