Bad for system builders who probably wouldn't go AMD, however the package as a whole for non system builders is really good. I would guess it is a decent CPU and the rest of the parts are quite good quality so a lot better than where you could get elsewhere for more money

Sure, this is one for people who don't have the skills/confidence to build a system themselves (which is probably a lot of people in truth). There is also the benefit that if it goes wrong, only one point of call, not trying to figure out which component and claim on separate warranties yourself.
System builders would no doubt have an over-clocked Core i5 etc... but this seems like quite a good chip for the money.

Not all System Builders, I'm still sticking with AND for now. Running an FX8370, 16gb RAF and a Crucial M550 SSD. Still stuck with an MSI 660Ti at the moment till the MSI 970s go sub £250 then that'll be next.
Bit of an overkill seeing as all I'm playing is WoT, but you never know what game's round the corner.
Voted hot for decent enough gaming on a budget.

Not bad specs-wise, but the PSU is typical cheap crap and not even 80 Plus standard rated.
Not sure what the case is so put the cheapest Cooler Master and the PSU is a bit better.

Yes R9 270x easily handle fifa, i think for call of duty youll be able to play decent frame rates at highest setting

yes.. I have this PC and it can run almost any game, it can run GTAV on medium/low specs, so It will easily run fifa and cod at high settings

The B600 actually seems to be a rebadge of that Thunder unit. They're identical both from a looks and specs perspective.
Yes. You'd have zero problems running either of those games at 1080p/60fps on high settings on a setup like this.

I spent some time looking at this machine when it was priced at £599. I was wondering if it would save me money to buy this and swap out the parts to meet my desires. I eventually decided I was going Intel and it wouldn't be worth the hassle. However, I did arrive at the conclusion that for an out of the box experience its pretty good value for money if you want AMD. Adding heat.

Honestly if your going for a gaming PC you either go all in and buy a £800-£900 that can play all games in ultra, or don't bother, don't see the point buying a mid range for £600 that can just about play games on medium settings

Sorry mate but you have no idea what your talking about. This will easily play games on high to ultra settings, depending on the game. Not everyone has another £300 to spend our wants to play the latest games on all max settings.

What motherboard does this use?
Just wondered how much the Cpu can be over clocked, has the cooler for over clocking but what about motherboard? Also what psu does this use? Or is it all just cheap generic parts used?

Probably an Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 as it has USB3 but only SATA II. I've got the same board and it will overclock with decent cooling

well said. Not all of us can afford the top end pc. I'm still using a hd 6870 and it runs fifa on high with ease. and I'm guessing it would return decent frame rates on cod also when I have the money to buy it.

Love to see it with something like Metro 2033 or the witcher 2 on ultra. Try either of those in 1080p on this :smiley: or even older games like Starcraft 2 or World of Warcraft. Sure they will run but let's see if it can crack over 30fps in any if those games in 1080p.

Any system with any CPU using this GPU would have similar fps to this one on GPU bound games. There are some good videos online of Athlon 5350 systems with the same graphics card as i7 systems posting very similar benchmarks in games like BF4.
It's not that Cpu heavy really. It was a pain after launch in some areas of map before or got patches yes. Any benches for Scarcraft 2? Or any Mmo games like Planetside 2?

SC2 is Direct 9 and single threaded so an Intel would be a lot faster but you would still get about 40-50fps on high.
Not sure on the others.

Might be worth looking at the dell outlet if you don't mind refurb as there are some I7 machines with similar GPU's in there at the moment at around the same price as this one.

True. I bought a Dell 8700 last year for the office and is working great. Was also a 'scratch and dent' but the only mark I can find on it was at the rear of the side panel and was only 1cm long.

Strangely I bought mine with exact same spec for £606 in July. Typically they come with a 1-year NBD warranty and that can be extended which I'll do later in the year. I've only done some light gaming on it as I use it mostly for CAD and photo editing, but it's a great system overall, especially since I updated it with a 256gb SSD for £80 so it flies along. This CPU can be heavily overclocked with decent cooling in place. It's a decent chip. I have this CPU and an AMD r9 280 to go with it, it can run all games at high settings at 1080p. It cost under £600 to build, with all quality parts. It depends what you need it for really.

Seriously though it's a very common AM3+ board that is now pretty cheap.
Skyrim is a very CPU bound game and a system with this CPU and GPU can do 75 fps at ultra high.
Older CPU and it plays fine with the 270x.
Not sure on the others.
