Gonna buy these, doubt they will be anything like the real thing... Frozen stuff never is, especially burgers. Fillets are worth s try if everything else is horrible. Thanks OP
Ps - to everyone saying its disgusting.... Why is it? It's just an animal like cow, pig, chicken, sheep, goat, turkey. If you think it's disgusting you should become vegetarian.
Is it halal? If so I ain't buying.

Definitely getting one of these boxes.

I fully agree. It's sickening that they eat kangaroos that have been free to spend their life in the wild. They should be raised in factory farms or cages like ours are.

If you eat any form of meat you can't really say that. Most humans eat meat, not because they have to but because they enjoy it. The murder of a sentient being is par for the course if you enjoy meat, and many people are ok with that fact.
tek-monkey to becky40
9 Nov 141#51
Yup, how dare they package perfectly normal meat as if its some sort of 'dare'. Only a complete 'tard would think this is anything other than standard fayre available from at least one good butcher in most towns.
Personally I think reindeer is the best stupidly labelled 'exotic' meat out there, rarely see it in the uk though :disappointed:

Don't ya just love how manufacturers always manage to creep some crap in to their foods?!?!? mmmmmmm...the old family favourite Preservative, (Sulphur Dioxide), E301, E331, Spice Extracts, Spice, E120.
callum9999 to COJones
9 Nov 14#23
There's nothing on that list that you can really label as "crap"... E120 sounds unpleasant (likely from crushed insects) but even that's completely harmless to all but a tiny minority with an allergy to it.

I love how folk are labelling this as disgusting, if you eat meat it shouldn't matter if if comes from a cow, chicken or a crocodile! I personally wouldn't even consider it because it comes from iceland and I never shop there as the food is below the standard that I am happy to consume.

It's actually from Kezie Foods as mentioned by someone earlier in the thread but packaged for Iceland.
Shame about the added ingredients (talking about the bulking agents, not any 'necessary' preservatives). I'd prefer 100% meat burgers but that's being picky given the price.
Will pick some up next time I'm in Iceland. Hopefully it will become a regular foodstuff, rather than a gimmick just for IACGMOOH.

Nothing the manufacturer produces is Kosher or Halal. Also, they only supply frozen, even direct, so it's possible that many places defrost them prior to retail. A well frozen (and stored) product is almost as good as fresh. You certainly wouldn't notice much difference in a processed product like a burger; nor would you get it at anything like £1.25 as per this offer. Enjoy! =)

Croc takes like chicken but with a fishy tang

However frozen processed versions, no thanks I'll stick to the local butcher who stocks ostrich

Had Ostrich steak last night from Lidl and the taste was amazing.Absolutely fantastic taste and incredible texture, also low in calories and fat. Will be buying a lot of this in the future Had kangaroo steak also from Lidl and that was great too.
Thanks, i ordered 2 rabbits and 2 pk of frog legs,

9 Nov 14#39
There's nothing unusual about any of these meats - don't know what the fuss is about. Ostrich especially is great for steak lovers as it tastes like really good fillet steak but is low in fat and cholesterol. And now the price is starting to come down a bit so it is reasonable healthier alternative to steak. (Don't over cook it) Kangaroo is bit tougher and I don't personally like Crocodile but that's my personal taste. Honestly, you wouldn't "gag" at the taste of any of them

Actually the ingriedients for some people could be good as 3 of these burgers do not have wheat in them which is used as a filler. If you read the stuff that is in most gluten free foods you wouldn't want to eat them unless your are forced to.
