Coverage mate, 2G 1800mhz has more chance of indoor penetration over 4G at 1800mhz, so people might get to use their mobile indoors, remember 3's 2100mhz coverage before it got into bed with T-Mobile ? 3 should get even better over the next few years with 800mhz, 1800mhz and 2100 MHz but none of them run 2G, Orange roaming is not allowed where 3 think you should have a signal to call/text, at least with a EE 2G signal you most probably will over 3.
I'll be off to Vectone myself as soon as 3 remove my One Plan tethering

"Many great deals and options and bonuses that make 3 payg look expensive!"
Em, I'm not seeing it sorry. With the Feel At Home feature, Three is far better value for me. The lack of 4G data is another negative. Voted hot though for those that don't travel abroad much.

I use 3 Mobile but they can't
Thanks OP
Delight mobile reserves the right to withdraw or suspend the Services or to disconnect you if we suspect that offer is being used for commercial purposes, for conferencing, or if it is not being used in a handset (in a SIM box for example), or if it is being used for tethering.
Is there somewhere else that says they allow tethering?

Can't find anything on the website, except for the treats which lasts 30 days.
Do normal top ups behave like Three's which do not expire at the end of 30 days?
Does the free £30 have an expiry date...I have a Vodafone sim with £10 that I don't use this would be great way to get better value...I wonder if this can be used to top up my Playstation Store Account
If this is the case might be useful as a emergency sim and also gives life to phones that can't be used with Three

22 Nov 14#16
fizz I think the £30 is bonus credit and can only be used for calls/texts/data, not sure about expiry tho!
Top-ups balances just sit in your account like the other telcos, unless you buy the 30 day bundles that is.
Thanks, I went through the terms but couldn't find anything, from my knowledge it's only 3 that don't expire your top ups...but then I've hardly ever sed PAYG, do sim only or contracts but now need PAYG for the kids

All the networks have basic payg plans, you just need to find them as they have moved to marketing a bundle these days, any chargeable unit on a sim keeps it active with its credit for 6 months, even 3 will cut you off after 6 months with no use - its in 3's terms.
I still have bonus credit on Vectone from 6+ months ago, it didn't expire...may be the same for Delight ?

spoken to customer service, non english speaking with little command of the english language
the £30 is credited a 1000 minutes per month and expires at the end of each month and you have to topup each month £10 to get the 1000 minutes
normal topup doesn't expire, but bundle do after 30 days
seaniboy
22 Nov 14#25
Well surely you don't need a top up lol, I wouldn't be sure about that mate - plenty more time at no costs for the wife to get back up about you not meeting the required standards about things she probably would have let slide before - devils advocate - it might get worse! lol Perhaps 3's Zero plan would be more effective on your health than the finances, you get what you pay for after all

What did Delight say when you called them ? Id be calling both networks for info... its a 2 way port process.

30 Dec 14#35
Is your network set to automatic and roaming switched on ? EE use old T-Mobile and Orange networks that transmit on 2 different network codes. If you have no signal on T-Mobile/EE signal it may not roam to the old Orange EE signal now (or vice versa) to connect to the EE patched up 2 network.
Sometimes you have to manually search and select either network if signal is very poor on both the old TMOB & Orange base stations in your area.
gwapenut
30 Dec 14#36
Thanks, I don't think it's a roaming thing because the message I get when dialling my number is "You have dialled an incorrect number" rather than "we could not connect your number".
Not been able to call delight, I emailed them yesterday

Says they get back within 24 hours, if its past that call them 07892111202, 8-8pm.
Thanks, it's looking like a split port. I can make calls but not receive them. Same for texts. Orange (donor) say they've done everything they should have, so I just need delight to respond

Commiseration I've had the same happen, I've also had Vodafone bill me for uk - uk texts whilst I was roaming abroad, I had UK unlimited texts and it got sent to debt collection...
Networks customer care in communicating seems to be absolutely horrendous esp if its not on a script either UK or overseas.
Definitely is a EE problem as its a internal port from EE to a EE reseller. Something is amiss, I guess EE just give access to Delight and Delight own outgoing server is not set up properly, or EE's if they just pure resell outgoing capacity bought from EE.
Give them a call tomorrow, keep us updated
