I used to work for a VW camper conversion company, doing their webstore - this is very similar to one made by Ring ( or from the same company Ring buy them from)- one of their 4x4 pumps (just a different colour) RAC700, if so it is a VERY good pump, and cheap at this price - ususally £30+. Worth checking the specs though as it may be a 'lesser' version, even though it looks almost identical.

I'll second that.
This is a very good deal.

really nicely made pump, infinitely better than the plastic junk selling just about anywhere else
bought one last year, don't think these have been back in LIDL since then

if you do a bit of shopping as well - £5 OFF A £40 SPEND
Silly question but what is the usage of this pump?

Generally car tyres, and anything else inflatable that you might want to pump up whilst near the car. Usually come with adapters to let you blow up soft inflatables, eh air beds etc.

Looks to me more like a version of this one on Amazon. Gets excellent reviews so still a good buy with the added extra of the 3 year warranty. Heat
Some better photos here.
Or if you're in no rush you can get one directly from China for a mere £55!
There's a presta adaptor in the picture, so I'd expect so.

what would this be like for inflating a dinghy ?

Sounds good. Does anyone know how to run this from mains? I have seen converters, but many say cool boxes/dvd player only (5amps) - bit useless on this sort of thing. Thanks.
Whilst Lidl food is often very good quality, some of the stuff sold in their "specials" deals is very shoddy.
I purchased a Lidl mini compressor a couple of years ago and the damn thing failed after about 5 seconds.
Admittedly that was a different design, but who knows what corners have been cut with this one?

3 years warranty eliminates that fear for me

It says 10 bar is the max pressure? Or have I read that wrong? Cos I put my tyres to 35 so would this be any good?

Forget that last post, I mis read it, it says 10 bar, not 10 psi. This does look like a good pump then!

The warranty's of pretty limited value with Lidl. You're dealing with the manufacturer, it invariably means sending the item back, and by the time you've added up all the costs it would be cheaper to buy another one.

can these things actually get upto about 10 bar?, need it for pumpin up high pressure tires

its 145psi theoretically so that's pretty darn high!

Have never had a problem taking stuff back to Lidl, even many months after purchase, just keep the receipt!

I agree - but only for the first 6 months or so (12 if you're very lucky). Certainly not for the term of the 3 year warranty, though.

I bought one of their steam cleaners, used it as the instructions advised and inevitably it limescaled up. Instructions said NOT to descale and just use plain tap water. Took it back after nearly 2 years and got a full refund, no trouble at all.
Have you ever been refused a refund on items returned to Lidl to back up your statement?

I bought a lot of 'specials' from lidl thinking of using them for a little while until they inevitably broke down.
So far I never had to return anything at all.
My wife even bought me a Parkside mitre saw and I thought it was gonna pack up in a couple of months.
6 years and many, many jobs later is still going strong while my friends have skipped their expensive ones twice.
Can't really complain

Got one the other day from our local, plenty of stocks, have not used it yet but looks like an impressive bit of weighty kit for the money to be fair.

Likewise. Tried it out today and well impressed with it. Seems solidly built and works well. Quick, too.

For the people asking about what pressure this can go up to, having bought this yesterday I've just read the instructions and it says: "This device is not intended for continuous operation to generate pressure of more than 3 bar" (ie 43psi). Now I'm not clear whether that means do not try to infate a tyre from ZERO pressure to 3 bar/43 psi, or that even if inflating from 2.7bar to 3 bar, anything over 3 bar is not allowed. Must admit I could do with an answer on this as my car tyres need 3 bar in the rear tyres, and that is if the car is unladen - if we're carrying heavy stuff, we'd need more. It would be nice to know if I can safely go a bit above, otherwise I'll be returning the compressor. Does anyone have any answers on this??

They will be on about from 0 bar to 3 bar from flat, because these compressors get VERY hot while in operation if you did 4 tyres from 0-3 bar it would probably melt something internally or externally or even your hand. You might have even noticed on all pumps like these the hose tends to get quite warm after being left on for a while, as long as you dont leave it running for an hour it'll be safe

Nice to be able to turn it on and leave it to do it's stuff. Also, the screw on fitting may be slower, but you can be sure you'll get a good seal, so won't be faffing reseating it.
