I have the classic stand mixer from alidi not a bad purchase for 70.00 bucks does wht it claims to do attachments are very sturdy.Pleased with the product and price.If u are serious baker then high end machine is what u want. I like the Aldi version...

This has got to be the worst kitchen equipment I have ever bought.... talk about false economy... you can't set the mixer to slow, so everything is mixed fast, very fast or tornado ... the whisk stays in one place and can only be moved about by using a small lever at the base of the plate it sits on... if you only want to bake a small cake the bowl seems too big... if you are a baker and bake huge cakes then it might be fine.... imagine using a hand whisk and only being able to move the bowl but not everywhere, just in a circle.... I was going to get rid or my old Kenwood chef as it looks a bit scruffy, and this one does look cool in my kitchen...but I think this one will be going instead.. shame really... :-(

The second time I used it it started to smell of burning but I put it down to being new. It didn't improve and on the fourth time of using it gave up the ghost. Guess what, I can't find the receipt. I shall go tomorrow and appeal to their better nature. Also, someone else said that the blades don't reach the sides of the bowl, I agree. It didn't beat egg whites nor a wet cake mix and I had to finish them by hand. I wouldn't recommend for that reason regardless of the the burning out.

After searching a few stores I finally managed to get one. It's green (not my choice but all that was available) but worth it. And since there is never any problems with returns as long as you have your receipt I think it is very good value for money.

As with most of these kind of mixers, the greater the volume of contents in the bowl, the better the mix. Am very happy so far.

I managed to get one, it seems not many stores had deliveries. I managed to get a green one although wanted a cream one.
It is plastic but the attachments are metal. Not been allowed to try it out yet as it's a Xmas pressie, but it looks fine to me, about average size

Anyone get one of these? What's it like? Looks rather small too me. Is it metal?

Not sure how easy it is to tell from the picture but the whisk, beater and dough hook all look like good quality, nice and sturdy. Most of the cheaper ones have fairly flimsy dough hooks and beaters. Looks like a good deal. I admire you for your romanticism, buying your wife an Aldi mixer. I too am romantic. I bought my husband an Aldi garden broom for his birthday ;-)

Kitchenaid are £400! Probably worth it if you bake several times a week but otherwise get the Morphy Richards (exact same model as this and cheaper). I have had the Andrew James mixer for a year now and it works fine, ans is also exactly the same model as this.

Also OP, worth noting that although this cheaper mixers look more powerful on paper due to higher wattage, its because the higher wattage is needed to power them a they are belt drive. The Kitchenaid Artisan is direct drive so less power is needed to drive it, this also makes them quieter and more reliable.

This will probably be terrible, a stand mixer is something thats worth investing in a decent one of. Get a Kitchenaid Or a Kenwood Chef

Oooh, most definitely! I didn't see that one. I probably would have thought twice about posting this if I did. Looks like a good deal.

Although, after reading some of the comments, some people have a couple of negs against it, but could be down to original high cost and expectations.

I'll counter-act your cold vote. I think this is a better deal though.
