Bought one of these last time for the workshop. Very pleased with it for the money. Although was slightly sceptical when sucking up 4" water next to the battery in the battery compartment in a BMW.

Do you think that this would be OK for chimney soot? I'm thinking of sweeping my own chimney and I need a vacuum for what comes down.

Ive abused one of these for years.. Used it to suck up all kinds of junk, gravel, plaster. Even used it to unblock a drain.
The power take off function is great for power tools its only rated up to 1400w for that I think but I've ran a 2000w mitre saw off it without trouble.
Its suction isn't as good as a Henry.. That's its only fault

Bought one. Primarily to mop up inevitable drinks spills by the kids. I haven't had to use it yet. Initial impression is good. A pint of water poured onto a test carpet in the garage was quickly sucked up, leaving the carpet almost dry. Essential bit of kit if you have pets or children.
