I have been looking around for a cheap lawnmower but haven't seen anything half decent for under £50.
Now, I understand that this isn't a TV, games console, PC or console game, USB memory stick, hard drive, graphics card, blu-ray player, amplifier, speakers or headphones, so it may attract some cold votes. However if you are going to vote cold then please state your reasons for doing so, and I challenge anyone to locate a comparable product within the same price range.
Where else can you buy a lawnmower for £35 including a 3-year warranty?

Tbh l don't do threads on the other stuff you've mentioned and never really get 'colded' by the techys for no reason. On the whole they ignore the other stuff from what l can see, if it doesn't interest them.
If this goes cold l think it might not be for deal reasons, more the OP attitude? Just a thought... Good luck though, mower seems okay to me.

If you expand the comments you'll see it's the cheap £35 flymo..
However the overwhelming consensus among owners as reported by Amazon and Which? is that it's NOT terrible.. it is in fact rather good when used on appropriate lawns.

I tried my mower today - works fine although the wheels needed tightening as I went round. It doesn't help having a slightly bumpy (and overgrown) lawn.

I bought this on Sunday from the Scunthorpe store. Took me 5 minutes to assemble (easy!) and works a treat. I only have a small garden though.
One of the wheels did pop off but I'm not sure whether that was my fault or not. However, for the price it is available it - get it.
Wmffre
24 Jun 14#136
Yes, being kept in a cold garage, the plastic base on my mower went brittle and the extra leverage required on uneven ground caused it to crack where the handles joined the base. I've never had any problem with metal base mowers.
JamesSmith
23 Jun 14#135
Used on two lawns (moved during that time) both mostly flat but with slopes and lumpy bits.
I think you are suggesting leverage from the metal handles cracks the plastic when you lift or drop the front end??
Maybe the quality of mowers has gone down since my last one.
Wmffre
23 Jun 14#134
But ... on the second point ... did you use it on flat or uneven ground?
Wmffre
22 Jun 14#131
Two guidance rules for buying lawnmowers:
1 - Don't buy Flymo (customer relations service is the pits)
2 - Don't buy one with plastic base (if you use it on ground which is not flat, it will eventually crack where the metal handles are fixed)
JamesSmith to Wmffre
22 Jun 14#133

As some people mentioned it cut the grass well and collect in bin. Certainly looks cheap plastic and also wheel come out every 2 or 3 round, its shame that need to fix it before go for another round. Not the best in the market but cheap and does the job. Good luck

Not a bad lawn mower, got one from Aldi last year...only thing is that the wheels screw on and can sometimes fall off while mowing lol, every now and then I have to stop to tighten the wheel. To adjust the height of mowing ,you have to unscrew the wheels and move them to another thread..you only have 3 heights, all of them which cut the grass quite low. Quite a powerful machine though, make sure you have no stones on the grass or wear some shin pads.

Voted Hot, as it's a great deal and I appreciate the post. OP, I know you say you "don't care" what people vote but you obviously do if you're giving updates on Cold voters/the current temperature of the deal and you keep replying rather defensively.
It's Hotukdeals. Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason why things get Hot, or Cold. Many people get very possessive/competitive about their deals. See it as, if it helps one person, the rest is a bonus. We've all had our fair share of freezing deals, just got to take it on the chin and forget about it.

Like I said before, it's not me that misses out or suffers by it being voted cold... it's others, who may not see it. Why should I care if people vote cold for the wrong reasons? That's their problem and not mine. It doesn't affect me in any way. I'm going to go out and buy one anyway. Plenty of people have seen it now (today's top deal), with some no doubt will be following suit and purchasing one, so my job is done.

If considering this, do check for remaining stock of the more powerful 1400W model with a wider cutting circle (37cm vs 32cm).. being knocked down from £59.99 to £39.99 and also with 3 year warranty...
That's why the difference in power required, bigger blade more drive due to bigger blade and bigger drag surface at the cutting edge.

I have just collected mine from Aldi and it does look quite small, but that suits me as I borrowed a Bosch and found it a bit of a beast to cart around, I've only a small lawn and wanted something quite portable.

Buying with a card that offers an extra years warranty (ie Nationwide) will give extra peace of mind
You don't have to attack me personally and call me a cock. I've done nothing wrong.
368 people voted hot
My local republic store was closing down
With 50% off EVERYTHING
Huge name brands
Loads of good deals
Yet it got voted -55 cold
I challange any one to get those prices in a shop with those brands!!!!!
So, maybe you'll think more positively of Hotukdeals in future  Don't get me wrong, it has its trolls and eejits, but you can have a good laugh, learn a few things (at least I have with more techie Deals). Most members are alright.
Other than that, I'm interested in the thread, if that's allowed.
Voted cold
2nd hand ones sell for £15/30+ so this is a steal.
Heat added..dunno why tho..lol
It also is missing an engine; where do you put the petrol?

Thanks for the deal posted, but let's all try and get along nicely, we're all here for the same reason.
Thanks OP, probably dispatch my Dad to check this out...
Reason
Cheap and nasty lawnmower from a food retailer.
A good deal is subjective, I don't appreciate being guided how to vote.
A good deal to one person may not be a good deal to another
All you are doing is lining hotukdeals' pockets. Sorry Hduk
I have taken the time to share this so that others can benefit.
People can attack me personally but it doesn't detract from this being a cracking deal.
Hot for me. Only wish this came before I bought my Bosch.
If this goes cold l think it might not be for deal reasons, more the OP attitude? Just a thought... Good luck though, mower seems okay to me.
Hot 4 me
Saw this thread.
Read opening posts.
Voted cold.
My reason is thus:
You found a cheap lawnmower and seem to think that entitles you to talk down to people.
And I say this as someone that's actively in the market for a new mower.
I'm actually tempted to go to Aldi, buy this mower, maybe find that it's very good, and then go out if my way to create a new HUKD account with my work email just to vote the deal cold again.
Those apples. How you liking them?

Sorry your post is £5 cheaper
1. take off knickers
2. untwist
3. replace untwisted knickers
if that fails this one will take about 12 hours to work but try this
1 wake up
2 get out of the other side of the bed as you did today.
that should do it.
Voted hot, basic mower for £35 with a three year guarantee is pretty blooming good. Only knocked off or second hand is cheaper than this and they're not guaranteed that long usually.
Genuine good deals generally aren't voted cold. Get over yourself.
Frank, you forgot the naked girl/underwear posts
...don't forget alien quadrilogy boxed set, Tesco economy noodles, The Wire in new packaging, some pathetic rocking chairs for 'gamers' ie 40 year old men that need to grow up and some posts from holiday pirates about a holiday to an area of wasteland somewhere in the Mediterranean staying in the broom cupboard of some student lodgings. If it's none of these it will almost definitely go cold unless you put something really nauseating before your post. Suggestions include 'its my first post go gentle on me' or 'hope this helps someone'. If you do this and agree to repost the same item infinitely so it feels like we are stuck on a broken record on this site then you will go far in the world of hotukd ops...

Spot on.
Stop telling punters not to vote cold and giving us a running commentary on cold votes.
