Exactly. People can't expect them to honour warranties if they've neglected to retain the receipt that proves the date of purchase. If that wasn't the case, you could've had it for years and still try and claim on it. They're not that stupid.

Bought one of these two years ago from Lidl. Worked ok for about a year then started to cut out after around 3 minutes running and has now stopped working completely. Took it back to Lidl but they said the three year guarantee (clearly shown on the box) was from the manufacturer not them so they could do nothing to help without the store receipt, which I had not kept. So basically forget the three year warranty, it is valueless.

Pretty much the same as asz said above. Threw out all kinds of dust while in use. We returned it for a refund also.

Used mine today for the first time and all I can say is WOW!
Sucks stuff in just as you want it to, then blows dust straight out of the back just as you DON'T want it to.
All the big stuff stays in the 'bag', all the dust blows straight into the air. You might not notice this depending on the light/background/stuff you're hoovering up. Tried it in the car (black leather interior) in the sunshine and it immediately became a dust-bowl! Will have to wipe it down later.
I've checked and re-checked the filter, but it all fits and there are no holes. It must simply be that the filter is way, way too course.
Probably be ok for a garage. Most unsuitable (ironically) for a car.

Tried mine again after reading your comment and the very fine dust collects or sticks to the inside of the plastic housing. So you might have a defective filter or seal. Refund or exchange it.

Tried mine in the car after a full charge, ^WOW alright!!!
Sucked the debris up off the carpets/floor BUT Absolutely covered the rest of the car in dust & fine dirt!!
A quick 5 minute hoover = 30mins interior clean ahhhhhhhhhh :disappointed:
Might aswell drove through a desert with the windows open
Took it back and got a full refund easily enough tho

I tried out mine in the car, works ok, but obviously not super suction. Nice and light to use + no trailing cables. Should be handy in the kitchen for worktops and awkward to reach places. But certainly not a professional car valeting vac!
Brother in-law recently purchased the RAC 12v hand held vac and his returning it for a refund as it has very poor suction.
I like the idea the Silvercrest one can be wall mounted in a utility room next to a mains socket, nice design and li-ion battery is a big +
Pretty good for £15, if you get 3 years out of it, it's not breaking the bank.

I charged it until the light turned green, I assumed it was fully charged.

PIcked one up, suction is quite strong when fully charged but obviously gets weaker as charge is lost. Overall, worth the money.

You've used it already? It says in the instructions to charge it for a minimum of 24 hours before the first use.

Picked one up from my local around 10ish this morning, had around 12 left I would say. Seems ok for the money, proof is in the suction though and have not tested it properly yet.

Did they have plenty of stock and were they in high demand with loads of people after them? Was just wondering if it's too late to bother to go and try and get one as our branch isn't that locally to us and it's a bit of a journey for a wasted trip.

might get one to replace the 6v lidl one i have from 2005 (suction now terrible though still works ..just)
Deffo thinking of getting one, bought the VAX when it was on offer in Lidl a few months back £19.99, so could this be used as carpet/upholstery cleaner, you wash the carpet or car seat then use this to hoover the moisture up.

Got the white version of this, Brilliant device and use daily in the kitchen, I think they are 7.4v, it wipes the floor with my VAX Gator and this will pick up water, gonna get another for the car!
Cable comes off the wall charger so you can just plug it in instead. We have ours like this, battery lasts ages and charges quickly too.

I have a Silvercrest detail sander which I picked up from Lidl about 5 years ago. It is still working which does give me a little confidence that this might not be terrible.
For £15 it might be worth a punt
