Not bad but doesn't beat Asda brandy Fabuloso Solera Brandy de Jerez £13.50 this stuff is as good if not better then the premium brands try it.

Sorry, this is truly awful Spanish brandy. Tesco does a Solera Reserva for about the same price which is much smoother and tastier. For a couple of quid more, Waitrose does Torres 10 year old brandy which is better again.

Whats so special about these normal priced Aldi items.OK its won two unknown bronze awards. You can get 3 Barrels brandy at Morrisons at the moment for £11.Not even warm.

Do you have to say "God save the queen" before drinking this stuff?

Armagnac....ooooo.....lovely. Oddbins did a very good 10 year old for £18-19 before the company all but disappeared from our High Streets.

Lovely stuff, I was really tempted to buy if I had not already a couple of bottles left from previous years! Down a couple more then one may perfect the "ooou" in "cognac ou de l'armagnac s'il vous plaît!"

i'll be honest, i've never had it - my dad always raved about it though but figured it would be out of my price range! had a couple of good friends who worked for them in their stores, shame they got outmanouvred by nicolas and outpriced by the supermarkets.

Fabulosity is my favourite-despite the name. And I just got a flamedeer on this page. Thank you!

Now I don't know what to buy. I don't like Brandy myself but like to have a bottle in for guests that is not too expensive but not objectionable either. Tesco is nearer do I'll probably get that unless anyone else has suggestions ...

This is cooking brandy! Tesco do a house VSOP Armagnac for £22 that is lovely for the money. Better than some of the big brand VSOP cognacs that are over 50% more expensive. Best under £50 has to be Hine Rare VSOP, it could get away with being labelled an XO.

it's all down to personal taste - i prefer the cheaper spanish brandy to the french brandy - seem smoother to me... mmmmm

I agree. Smoother by far. The Tesco one in particular has a caramel type flavour to it. Any of the own brand offerings from Tesco, Sainsbury and Morrisons are very good.

The Torres 10 year old is fantastic (lived in Spain for 5 years, I know) :smirk:
