last time they had the wrong model on the poster. the item in the shop was a lower model with a hollow metal handle which seemed was about to snap when using on the laminate flooring. went with vax in the end.

If you cannot get one of these my local Argos is substituting the £25 Steamworks mop for a Vax S87-T2 i bought two and they were both the Vax not steamworks

Very useful for cleaning laminate flooring then I presume? Better than a mop and bucket. I hate all that messing about. Hopefully this is easy to clean and easy to get cloths for it?

Genuine question. How exactly does this clean the floor? It sprays steam on the floor and you push the dirt around, does it have a vacuum that sucks up the dirt or do you ring the pad off every few strokes?

It removes dirt just like a noodle cloth mop. Its not a vacuum! Its like a iron lol. It steams your floor i had a abode and now i want this too! It has good Watts than cheaper ones at that price

The steam penetrates the fiber pad, softens the dirt, it mixes with the steam and lifts the dirt off where it is trapped in the pad.
You change the pad (most wash in the washing machine) after every floor.

If you don't clean the floors in your house then why are you concerned how it cleans ...just be grateful she want to clean the floors...buy her one, they work.

I've wanted a steam mop for ages as we've got mainly laminate flooring and it's a pain to clean. Might have to visit Aldi before work on Thursday.

Anyone had any experience of these on tile floors?

I have one of those hotpoint ones that you can take the unit out of and use as a handheld thing as well. I use it in my kitchen (lino), lounge (laminate) and bathroom (tiles) - never have any problems. This one comes with a carpet glider too so you can steam carpets, can't believe how much muck comes out of my carpets! Great for busy houses when you don't want to wait an hour for the floor to clear. Much easier on my back than a traditional mop.

Not really 5 mins. Id say it takes 1 min to dry. The carpet glider is for rugs etc. You can wash the cloth hand wash and washing machine.

Has anyone any experience of using a steam mop on Karndean or any other similar glued down floor? I really fancy one but the Karndean website says not to use them, just not sure whether that's because they only want you to use their own (hugely overpriced) cleaning products, ie whether it actually does damage it?

Would love one for my carpets, away on holiday tho.

Do you order the steamworks from Argos and then they automatically supply the vax?

Would this effect the warranty if something goes wrong? i.e. you bring it back, would they say sorry that's not what's on your receipt?

Do NOT use these for laminate floors or real wood as it wrecks them (I am a floor layer and the amount of floors I see people having to replace because of these things is unbelievable)

cos the wife spends enough money... If it works, five, but I feel its fashionable to have one at the moment...
