In case you haven't heard this before, if you have a Vue in your neighbourhood, you can get cinema tickets for £5.95 all day TUESDAY. Up to 10 tickets per person. Just print the form on the link, hand it over to the till and get your card to start enjoying discount.
SST per ticket price may differ. It is £5.95 in my local, versus £9.45 for actual evening price.

Go on a Tuesday with your Cheap Tuesday card, and ask for a VueMore voucher (you should be given one anyway - most Vues offer this) - this will give you a FURTHER £1.50-ish off (both offers can be used in conjunction), therefore making the cinema quite a cheap night out.
Also, contrary to popular belief, Vue do not have a policy which forbids you taking in your own food and drink (only Cineworld do this I believe) - so feel free to take in your own food and drink to make a night of it (obviously no hot food/alcohol)
Enjoy!

Used to work there about five years ago and this was a typical price back then. Now it's a deal price. What a rip off the cinema is. The only way things will ever chance is if people stop going completely.

This is a good deal, its £5.75 in Edinburgh Omni cinema. I have Orange Wednesdays but usually work late on a Wed and can't justify full price the rest of the time! £11.50 for me and the girlfriend is reasonable, def gonna start going on a Tuesday now! Cheers OP

Thanks OP as I didn't know about this. Will see how it compares to an Orange Wednesday ticket in the evening at my local.

With student discount, I pay a fiver and a couple pence at Cineworld.... And the concessions are cheaper ( If I don't bring them myself)

Not everybody has student discount, or live close to a cineworld. I guess that doesn't devalue the deal.

That's what I mean. Doesn't hurt to ask your local for a VueMore - most offer them (but the amount you get knocked off will vary depending on the cinema)
Also, I think some cinemas don't do a Cheap Tuesday, but its a Cheap Monday or Thursday. So always check before going.

Cineworld also offer 'Bargain Tuesdays' at around the same price.
The difference is that with Cineworld one is able to book the tickets in advance online,

Generally those sites with a competitor (cineworld/odeon) near by should offer a vuemore voucher with every ticket to encourage repeat business.
If you do not have another cinema chain nearby chances are they will not be valid at these sites.
Good deal if you can combine the two and make it a reasonably cheap night.

My wife tells me tha the back if the ticket says you're only allowed to eat/drink food bought at Vue and that the staff sometimes check bags.
Do you have a link to resolve this once and for all?

To my knowledge the back of the tickets say nothing, and though it may vary site-by-site, there is no general Vue policy forbidding you taking in your own snacks.
Staff do sometimes check backs, but this is to ensure you are not taking in alcoholic drinks/hot food/cameras/camcorders/piracy related equipment particularly where you have bulky bags etc.
Edit: Staff also checks bags, as well as backs.

think it depends on the cinema, no one has ever said anything to me when i walk in with a bottle of coke and sweets. the one time i walked in with a subway.
dont think people on min wage want the hassle anyway of telling you off, maybe if its a supervisor/manager watching they might say something / or a very busy screen

£4.95 in Sheffield, but not really a deal as it used to this price for anyone on Tuesday. now it is only for people with the card! life of Pi still ended up costing over £14 for the 2 of us this Tuesday as you pay a lot extra for 3d.

My local Vue used to be £3.95 for Cheap Tues and I always had a £1.50 off voucher making it £2.45 so I went most Tuesdays. Not such a good deal anymore! :-(

Wow, didn't know cinema cost so much these days! Here in the middle of nowhere its 3.25 still on a Tuesday, plus they now sell alcohol in there! very glad empire bought it! Even makes peak rate of 7quid not look so bad, can't believe places charge over a tenner to watch a film

Last time I went to the Vue (to see Skyfall) it was £13.90, I think. Although that was for a 'comfy seat'. It's cheaper now just to buy the Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Triple Play when it comes out. No wonder the seas are filled with pirates!
