Connect online via an Ethernet cable (supplied) or Wi-Fi dongle - all that's required is a broadband service. The iViewer is also able to access NetFlix and and an array of other online channels. In addition it can access your home computer so pictures stored can be viewed directly through the TV. It also has a built in DVD player so you can watch your favourite films

One more thing. You can operate the tv with a Sky remote. If you don't have 1 you can get 1 on eBay for about £3. I can't remember the code but you should be able to find it on google. Let me know if you need help

Hiya
I had exactly the same problem with my remote about 1 year ago. I contacted M&S and Cello directly. I could not find my original receipt which was a pain so if you have this it will help.
I called M&S 03330148111 or 03330148000 and emailed [email protected]

It took about a month but they sent me a brand new remote and it was the same.

It took a lot of persistence and chasing to get it so good luck.

Best regards

Hello deeinlondon, I'm sorry for your dad tv remote has suffered this issue. Mine works fine as it only has light use. I am exploring other options with this tv and may contact trading standards. However, if I'm binning it, will be more than happy for your dad to have if neither of you would mind this..despite the tv being noisy, poor sound & internet never worked etc I got on well with it and the picture viewing was fine.

How's the remote control for the TV? Does yours still work?

I bought this TV for my father who is now almost 80 and had a stroke and this TV is pretty much how he spend most of his day which is sad - but the power button ont he remote stopped working - so the poor guy has to get up and manually turn the TV on and off - I tried getting Cello to provide a replacement and also contact M&S for a new remote control but they were useless and cos it's such an unheard of brand trying to find a remote control that works on it is a nightmare.

This TV died on me last week was used as a bedroom TV only, so contacted M&S under the 5 years warranty - neither M&S or Cello wanted to know. Now await a cheque in the post in the next 21 days from M&S...lots of arguing to and fro..with both Cello didn't offer to repair & M&S can't replace as no longer sells TV. What to do folks? Cheers. Oh, I'm missing the footy

I reset my O2 Broadband router today, and I still couldn't get the TV to connect via WiFi to the internet - best I could manage was to setup a guest WiFi on my O2 Router and then use WEP instead of WPA / WPA2

Trouble with this setup is that it stops the TV from being able to see the internal network which means I can't stream video across the home network to the TV.

Is anyone having problems connecting to WiFi using the USB Dongle tha came with the TV?

I'm with O2 Home Broadband and O2 sent me a new router and my TV can see the signal which is WPA / WPA2 but I cannot connect to the signal. I have no issues connecting to the router with my Android phone, Laptop, etc. ... only the TV has problems connecting to the WPA / WPA2 WiFI.

If I open the signal so there is no password then I can connect without any problems, but of course I don't want to have an open WiFi signal. The TV and Router are in different rooms so Wired Ethernet is not an option.

Also has there been any software updates for this TV? I think my software is about 1 year old.

And lastly does anyone find any problems when you have USB Stick installed?

I find sometimes when there is USB Stick plugged in the TV won't turn on
I've tried many different brands of USB Stick.

Did anyone get the quidco for this? I raised a query with them stating It clearly said 10% Cashback for deal of the day. And the link took me directly to the TV. But they've just responded that the T&Cs say no Cashback on Electricals. Don't suppose anyone has a screenshot of the Quidco page. Really should have kept one at the time :/

The screen on mine went black during a Euro 2012 match on Friday. Got sound and the green led but no picture. Phoned them up and M&S customer service agreed to take it back and refund the money. Lesson learned. Liked it while it was working but no more cheapo brands for me.

I have just thought of an answer to all those that have problems with the TV -

Return it and get your money back maybe?

Let alone the fact that it has a DVD player built in and Internet connectivity.

I'm starting to have the creaking, popping cabinet problem. This is a bedroom tv and it switches itself off if no buttons are pressed for a number of hours, so that's once I'm asleep. The cabinet noise is worst when the TV is turned off and presumably cooling down, and it's loud enough to wake me up. My set also leans forward. The remote is pretty poor, the battery cover is loose and the rubber buttons are quite unresponsive, you sometimes have to press quite hard to get them to work, other times you have to press the "TV" button to get the button to work, like a cheapie "one for all" remote which is probably what it is. I also have the wifi problem which I've spoken to M&S technical about but I haven't been offered a solution yet, the staff on the helpline seem a bit hit & miss. The sound is very poor, and a few days ago it was intermittently sounding like it was underwater for a few seconds. The distortion stopped when I changed channels and then seemed OK but I'm not sure of the cause, and if it happens again I will have to get back on to M&S.

To be honest, I am very reluctant to return the set as the price paid was unbelievably low, but the quality problems are pretty hard for me to ignore. The picture is goodthough!.

Additionally does the DVD player support 720p files of any format.

Agree wholeheartedly with this. Using our £30 250 Gb PVR via scart just cos it's there and actually the reception seems better. Not an issue for us.

The pic is superb and we have had no issues with the sound. It's only a bedroom TV but don't think it has been over 20 and has been fine.

"I bought it and believe u me that I am over the moon. It is one of the best deals I ever bought. Atleast 8 people have asked me after looking at the crisp picture quality to order on there behalf, if this deal ever go live again.

No cabinet noise here. Agree that the picture is superb. The blacks are fantastic.
Only gripes are what I said before:
- better reception via old PVR (I've not tried again since the weather has improved (it was especially bad when I tried before)) - we have a decent PVR anyway - so no problem continuing with this.
- sound could be better. Our sound comes through separate sound sytem, which will be better and have more bass than most LCD TV's anyway.

Have been using iPlayer alot (The Bridge was great!).

This aggressive response is just even more evidence to think that you have a "small man" complex. You come across terribly badly. You don't like the TV - you sent it back - witter on about big brands for the same price then can't provide any evidence.

We don't need to say any more. You are doing a spot on job about coming across as an angry, ignorant, sad case.

Quote from the Oregan website "With full ownership of the intellectual property rights of its Oregan™ Media Browser software, Oregan is able to respond rapidly to the requirements of its customers and to be a strong innovator in the digital entertainment sector."

It is difficult to see how they can make that claim when the last software update was March 2011.

24 May 12 #358
Very true, in fact if anything having FULLY RIGHTS means they can be as slow as they want.

fastest way forward to improvements is to have open standards that the world community of programmers around the world can add to and improve.

I'm really pleased with the picture quality on this TV, has the best Black Levels of any TV we've now got.

Sound isn't bad, just the fact the speakers got hidden so deep inside that the sound appears to be coming from god know's where.

Loading of the web software is a bit slow though, for the price paid I think it was good value, if I'd paid £400 for it then I'd have been pretty disappointed

I'm sure I read on Oregan's website they're looking to hire someone to write software for them.

Yup they are.. Maybe when they get around to hiring some new staff they might actually update the sotfware on the TV.

We aren't on FB so can't comment but they should update as a matter of course. It needs Netflix, ITV and 4&5 OD as standard.

There are also issues with the wireless dongle. I don't know how many M&S sold as a recommendation from this site but I would expect quite a few hundred. Obviously many people don't actually contribute to this site and have probably been giving Cello and M&S quite a bit of grief - even though the wireless and DNLA wasn't even advertised!

Ours works fine wired, it is just annoying that it doesn't wirelessley.

The Tech Support at M&S told me that it sounded like it needed a firmware update. I told him that we had done that, wirelessley - when it worked, and the firmware was from March 2011.

Hopefully someone from Cello or Oregon/ Onyx reads these boards. If I get the time later I will email them pointing them in this direction.

Anyway seems like there's a lot of us that bought this TV and are fairly pleased with what we go for £199 .. Apart from the speakers I'm pretty pleased with this TV. But how's about we all do our bit to ensure the software side of things gets improved by posting on the Facebook pages of the company that wrote the software that makes the internet part of the TV Work?

I've found the company's website and also the link to their Facebook page. By the looks of it they've not made any improvements to their software on the TV since March 2011. There's so much improvement they could make to this TV with a few tweaks of the software. So many more Internet TV Channels they could link us upto and maybe even give us a web browser so we can freely view whatever it is we want to look up online.

I just tried two different USB Keysin the side USB Slots and neither seemed to do anything, TV just says no drive.

But plugged into the bottom USB Slot they work just fine.

Any ideas why this might be the case and do USB Keys work for other people in the slide slots?

BTW my USB Wireless Dongle worked just fine in the outer side slot
joannlcs to deeinlondon
15 May 12 #333
No - the side ports won't work for me either. Dongle worked briefly in them then stopped. Called Cello tech support who advised me it must be the dongle. I queried this as I'd tested the ports with the memory stick that worked in the back and it wouldn't recognise it at the side. The advisor said that the side ports are for wifi only and insisted I contact M&S about the dongle. Not convince as they are just usb ports but will try another dongle to rule that out.

My review.

MASSIVE SPEC SMART TV FOR £3.33 A MONTH or 83p a WEEK - get a grip - PLEASE!

IMO the picture is excellent. Very sharp and blacks are great. We have no issues with the sound at all, but ours is only used as a bedroom TV. Rarely have it above 10 as we live in flats and consider our neighbours but have had no issues.

The TV doesn't have an ON function - then again what TV does and what is the point if you have a mobile or alarm clock? LOL

Ours has 3 USB - 2 on side 1 rear. 2 HDMI 1 side 1 rear. 1 Scart - rear. Ethernet and aerial - side.

Haven't had much luck with the included wireless adaptor - (which was an unexpected extra) but works faultlessley with a wired ethernet cable. Not that bothered because we have a PS3 which upscales and doesn't take an age to upload, unlike Onyx.

Have heard no creaks or groans from the TV. Has been set up on the stand and is now wall mounted.

Find the EPG very poor and clunky and signal strength intermittent. Strangely on the built in DTV we get ITV no probs yet on our connected cheapie - £30 250GB PVR we can't get it. However the PVR, via Scart has an infinitely better picture. Don't understand.

The Bridge looks absolutely stunning via scart and PVR and even Family Guy is resized automatically. I don't get it!

With the wireless dongle inserted - side USB ports only - it is awkward to insert another USB stick. Strangely these side ports seem to play various file formats but the rear doesn't? Not sure why.

DVD player is good and plays lots of formats. Also has memory, which is unexpected. We aren't really using as PS3 upscales but a nice bonus. Ultimately a bit too slow for us.

Verdict - A 32" Full HD Smart TV with DVD player, USB PVR with 5 year guarantee for £200 is an absolute bargain. I am certain there won't be a better offer this year.

We were after a 32" Full HD with decent spec for around that price. All the extras and the 5 year warranty make us very glad we bought.

My sister just bought a new 22 inch Samsung LED TV and I have to say the speakers in that sound so much better then the Cello TV, yet I can't see where they've been placed.

In both TV's there appears to be cut out Grills that face downwards on the downward edge of the TV.

Having said that my Previous 32 inch LCD TV which was only Analogue (no freeview built in) had front facing speakers along the bottom of the TV and sounded so much better and more natural then either TV and looked just fine.

I also have a pair of 22 inch LG Flatron TV's in my bedroom which I mainly use as computer monitors but the sound form those is just plain Horrid. In the end I bought a Samsung Speaker System for them and the sound is now so much better.
nathanlt89
15 May 12 #329
Indeed. Although altering treble/bass will help, I now have it 50-50 you can really notice the echo every so often - it's not the most scientific method, but if you listen to the sound from behind the TV, then it doesn't seem to have the echo.

They're a new-ish company so as long as they get constructive criticism then things can only get better.

We live in an age that demands good aesthetics from products so a speaker grill on the front is hardly eye candy for most..

Cheap speaker suggestions, anyone? I did see a post on here shortly after this one became popular but can't remember what they were.. 2.0/2.1 speakers ideally
nathanlt89
15 May 12 #326
I guess it's not ideal, but I've put bass to max, and treble to bottom and sound has changed a lot, sounds better to me. The issue is the design really, sounds like they're echoing.. it feels like I'm listening to a neighbours TV
deeinlondon to nathanlt89
15 May 12 #328
I'm not surprised.

The big problem with the speakers to me doesn't seem to be their size or power output, but more the fact the speakers are buried away deep inside the TV ... ideally any flat screen TV will have the speakers placed in a good position with some kind of cut out or material that allows the sound waves to exit the TV set easily.

Looks to me like Cello just buried the speakers deep within the TV wherever there was some space.

"Should" is the correct word. Like the SCART, the headphone socket only works for audio from the aerial - not the other sources

Yes, I am now using the headphones port as a workaround but I don't think the sound is as good as when using the SCART.

Mine arrived and am happy with it. However it won't connect to the internet wirelessly which is pretty annoying. Entered encryption key etc and nothing. Switched it off and then went back into Onyx and it asked me if I wanted to update it which I did and assumed it was then connected as it added the Lovefilm widget and updated weather.

Tried to watch iPlayer to test it and it said it wasn't connected again!!!

Also the rear USB recognises my memory stick but when I got to play files says file not supported but they play fine in the side USB?

Anyone got any idea why the Wi Fi isn't working? Cheers

There are dedicated audio out sockets on the side of the TV... use these and you will (should!) get audio from any source.

Is there not a headphones port you can use?
offmypickle
11 May 12 #305
Yes these are my findings so far too. The only solution I have found so far is to use a decent transcoding DLNA server e.g. Serviio and transcode those with DTS sound. Unfortunately it seems that simply transcoding the audio and keeping the video doesn't work, you need to transcode the whole file which requires something rather beefy running Serviio; my quad-core pc can do it, but my mac mini media server simply isn't up to the task.

If anyone's interested I can provide a transcoding profile for Serviio, and I'll update with any more progress I make.

EXTERNAL SOUND ISSUE

I ordered two TVs - one to replace the main TV and one for use as a monitor. I was aware that the internal sound would be rubbish but I took comfort from the fact that it would be connected to my own amplifier and speakers. I have now tested the TV and I was shocked to discover that the audio sent from the SCART to my amp only works if you are watching DTV! If you are watching any other source via HDMI or Onyx e.g. iPlayer or DLNA the audio does NOT go out through the SCART and can only be listened to on the useless internal speakers.

I checked with Support (01388 812123 for those that do not want to use 0871) and they confirmed that it is not a fault - it is designed to work that way! Clearly it is badly designed as it is unreasonable to expect it to work that way. Has anyone got any comments or suggested workarounds before I return at least one of the TVs to M&S?

Great tv for the money. Easy to set up with clear, well though out instructions. Loads of features, still discovering new stuff every day. e.g. When accessing sky+ the Cello remote automatically turns into a sky remote. Picture quality is better than i was expecting but I've had to raise a claim with quidco for the £20 cahback and am waiting for their response. Still be happy at £199 though.

One question, l have a netgear router with a 1GB buffalo usb drive attached to it that streams fine to my other networked devices. Using the Cello network viewer I can see my two networked computers but it does not see the netgear usb drive. Any suggestions or pointers to a knowledge resource would be appreciated.
offmypickle to topazz
11 May 12 #303
The Cello accesses media from the network using the DNLA/UPnP protocol, so you need to make sure the DNLA server on the router (if it has one) is set up correctly to serve films from the usb drive. It may be that the other devices are using a different protocol - e.g Samba/Shared drive - which is why those are working and this is not.

Mine is all set up now, and despite the product description it DOES have DNLA support... sweet!

Tested an mpeg and that worked fine. Now I just have to find a DNLA server that can transcode my mkv's on demand into something that the TV can play, then I can watch any of my movies that are on my media server. Anyone have any ideas?

The sound is indeed pretty rancid, and the cabinet creaks and pops like a good un, but I think given what's in the box, for the money it's still a grade A bargain!

11 May 12 #300
I've just discovered that the tv does support 720/1080p mkv files over DLNA even though it won't support them if they are on a usb stick plugged into the back of the set. A strange decision to say the least..
mkv files with DD5.1 play with sound although anything with DTS just gives me picture only.

Hollymia - Thanks for the confirmation paul. Sorry can't help you as haven't got the TV yet but am guessing the Sky isn't playing through your cinema system because it is connected via Scart to the TV - is that right?

Yes it is Hollymia, old Skybox can only connect via Scart, but this set up works on my Sony Bravia, with lovely home cinema surround sound, yet no joy with all the connections - HDMI, RCA, or SCART between the Philips and the Cello.
hollymia to paulsb

Sorry can't be of more help. Only thing I can think of is to change the sound or output to HDMI but that doesn't work or no option?

I'm not big on home cinema but I do suggest you join AV forums as they are very experienced and helpful in my experience. Either that or contact Cello. I'm sure it is probably something fairly simple that "once you know how".

Hollymia - "However I know how to set things up and understand the limitations."

I cannot get my Cello to accept the sound from my Philips DVD Home Ent System. It is connected via HDMI, the DVD plays in stereo surround sound nicely - but I can't get the TV / SKY input via SCART to play. In the settings menu on the TV there are no options to change the sound input either.

Any ideas?

By the way, your question -

Full HD 32" TV with 24P, 3 HDMI, 3 USB, 1 SCART Component, RCA Audio out, Freeview, DVD player, PVR recording capability. Both DVD and USB play multiple file formats, Internet capability.

In the box you get both an ethernet cable and wireless dongle. You also have a 5 year warranty.

Sorry Andy, again I can't help and it does indeed seem bizzare when you have pointed out all those things. We bought the TV solely on the basis that it was a 32" full HD with 5 year guarantee and Internet capability. All the other features are just a bonus IMO for £200!

We too have a 250GB £30 Dion Ebay refurb PVR that is very good for the price and are just gonna connect that up as we have no spare HDs.

Ours is gonna be wall mounted and will have either a Blu Ray or PS3 underneath it so doesn't worry us too much. We still have S4 of Being Human and The Bridge to watch off it anyway!

Sorry can't be of more help.

That is correct Hollymia.

I (and I think a few others) were not really moaning or saying it is a bad buy. Far from it; I think it's EXCELLENT! However, the points raised were mentioned to see if anyone had suggestions.

For me, with regard to the poor reception, I wanted to see if anyone else experienced this (no one seems to) or whether I have a duff one. It is not crystal clear that it would be to do with my aerial or the reception in my area because:
1) I have just had a new aerial fitted recently
2) I get fantastic signal from other units in the same house
3) I get fantastic signal from my PVR with the new TV from the same RF cable in the lounge (which I don't get when tuning the TV).

Can someone just confirm what you get for £200 please?

From the description and people's comments I have gleaned that you get ;

Can someone please confirm that all the above is correct?

Seems to me like a HUUUGGE spec for £200.
hollymia
10 May 12 #287
I can't make a judgement yet, as mine hasn't arrived! But I am a bit dumbfounded by some of the comments on here. As far as I can tell from comments the TV has way more features than advertised i.e 3 USB instead of one and the inclusion of a Wireless dongle.

If you are using it wirelessly then there is every chance of buffering. Cabinet noise is very common with new TVs and the recommendation is that you allow them to "bed in" for 20+ hours. Not picking up channels is either to do with the aerial connection you have or the transmitters strength.

We had our communal aerial upgraded but still do not get any HD channels even though we have an HD tuner on our TV and ITV1 appears when it feels like it.

The sound is crap. The TV is very slim so I assume everyone knew that the sound wasn't gonna be great?

If you still have problems with it then apparently Cello have very good CS and if the worst comes to the worst then you have a 5 year warranty with M&S. Although for £200 or even double that, including a 5 year warranty and wireless internet I think you would find it extremely hard to find such a well specced TV.

I may eat my words when mine arrives! However I know how to set things up and understand the limitations.

I've now had 3 freezes, one time on the USB Browser and twice when exiting Onyx and going back to the TV Screen, in both cases the only thing that worked was turning off the TV from the mains for a few minutes.

I got mine delivered yesterday. Set the tv up myself, just a few screws to attach the stand to the tv. Once the tv is plugged and aerial is attached, it finds the freeview channels easily and also the analogue channels found the settings to show the links with the sky box in another room easily.

So far the picture quality is very good, the sound is ok and better than an older Cello badged tv I have seen. Its a second tv for the bedroom. I need to get the wifi dongle to talk to my wireless network. The remote was supplied without batteries.

I got an email this morning that there would be a delay in getting the tv delivered. I checked out the tv box and they listed an address for another person in the same town. It looks like the courier gave me someone else's tv!!

Got my TV today, picture is really good, much better then I expected - the Blacks are really much blacker then my previous 32inch LCD TV. Sound is worse though as my old LCD TV had proper front facing speakers and of a decent size.

Glad to see the remote control also controls my Sky+ Box and the IPTV side of things is OK, I found 50% of the stuff that comes up on the default YouTube links aren't in English - wish there was a way to set video preferences to English.

Be good to have RSS Video Feeds and for YouTube to keep a list of recent searches.

TV did crash on my once in IPTV Mode, in the end after 10 minutes of a black screen had to turn it off from the mains to reset it.

Is there a now and next kind of thing on the TV Guide? only seems to show the current programmes on each channel.

Just got the TV, can confirm you get the USB Wi-Fi dongle, the sound isn't good but is OK for a bed room TV, the DVD player is region free but the up scaling isn't the best I've seen but far from the worst. Overall I think it's worth the money spent.

The guy did offer to install it but I declined also he didn't insist on opening it, there is an M&S seal that states that it can't be return if opened, so just open from the bottom and don't break the M&S seal, but even if you do you're covered by law that they must take it back within seven days, also when you sign add a note stating 'Signed for, not inspected' and you'll be good.

Hope you find this useful.

Cracking deal, just a shame that the way M&S deal with deliveries means they can't track anything and that the website says delivery by today. After contacting CS to confirm delivery as it still says due for dispatch, be told that the delivery company should have contacted me with 24/48hrs of the order to arrange delivery.

So, sat around waiting for the delivery company to contact me to arrange a delivery date. M&S need to make this information clear on their website and not simply leave the delivery details stating it will be delivered by a specified date and nothing more...

Could still connect the PVR, but it sort of feels a shame to do that when the TV comes with Freeview/ability to record.
Could say you might as well have got a TV without freeview/record. It means that you can't use the record-to-USB feature for some channels and an extra remote floating round the living room.

Sound through my hifi via headphone jack is fantastic and would imagine it is even better through the phono outputs to a surround sound system!

The biggest advantage compared to my old CRT I've found is the much improved image quality via HDMI from the XBox.

Only 3 of the 4 stand screws present
Blue stuck pixel in the centre of the screen about an inch from the top
Wifi dongle doesn't seem to work (followed instructions, pressing onyx button, then IPsetup, but just gives me a bleep every time I press the IP setup button, then eventually goes to no signal)
Has Cello branding, which doesn't appear on their picture or the box picture.
They haven't got any equivelants instock, so waiting for more stock or they said I can call if there is another tv with same features and they'll see if they can do it instead. Not ideal, but I can understand these things happen.

Could anyone who has already received their TV please let me know how high the low screws for the VESA mount are from the bottom of the TV so I can get the mount fitted in advance of delivery?

Many thanks OP.

robertph - thanks very much for the info - very helpful as can get the mount fitted whilst the weather is poor. Hope we get the wireless dongle too - seems like most of the posters on here have so don't see why not.

With wireless internet and all the other specs of this TV it has to be bargain of the year so far on this site.

Has anyone used the PVR yet and does it have series link?

NP. Also where possible purchase using a credit card, as the threat of a charge back usually persuades even the most obstinate retailer. Your rights under the consumer credit act are very strong and merchant account providers don't look favourably on retailers who have a high chargeback ratio.

You have the right to open and inspect the item under DSR. In fact the point of DSR is to allow consumers to inspect an item as they would if they purchased in store.

4 May 12 #211
**(* that. If they even attempt to do that with me I will tell them I am signing for delivery with absolutely no stipulations that I have to open it in front of them and provide them with anything! And then tell them that if they really need it then I will go and open it in my own time whilst they wait on the doorstep.

Should have got a screen pic because it definitely said delivery and installation although on order just says delivery.

From what people on here have said about their CS I think they will be pretty good about providing a replacement.
Flipd to ANDYWOODY01
5 May 12 #219
For those that prefer the box not to be opended by the delivery installer for whatever reason, the TV serial number should also be printed on a sticky label on the outside of the box, so no real excuse for any insistence for box to be opened.
Not sure if any 7day option to return "no-questions-asked" under DSR would be invalidated by a broken seal.

Unless i-viewer has been updated since late 2011, there is no facility for the user to download apps.
Internet-related content is acessed exclusively via the Onyx portal presented on the TV screen.
First time I accessed the iviewer Onyx portal on my Soundwave 22" TV (believed to be a Cello clone), it auto-downloaded an updated firmware, which implies that additional content can be added via future firmware updates.

Absolutely insane price then. £200 for a full HD, wireless internet connectivity (apparently included), DVD player, most file formats supported via USB, PVR record + timeslip, thin + 5 year warranty. Has to be deal of the year so far IMO.

Haven't got mine yet but would guess there is some App to download somewhere.

What was the delivery like from you two and did anyone install it? I assumed it would be delivered by M&S direct but others have said white van man who insisted on getting the serial no.

OK, so this suggests that users preferring wireless internet connection rather than wired need to source a wifi dongle.
£25 from Cello, although other (cheaper?) dongles using similar chipset may function.

After a little play, TV is hooked up to a VM HD box via HDMI... not bothered with antenna connection !
Picture is superb... a little oversharpened when compared to our Sony TV, but its a third of the price.

Sound is awful, but turn up BASS to full and TREBLE to 30 and its liveable... its only a bedroom TV anyhow, so volume will be low.

Surprise surprise, there was a WIFI dongle in the box... and it does find networks, but wont connect ! (maybe my security... ill try again later.) Although this is novelty value only as there will be a CAT5 cable in there soon.

The TV also supports DNLA... for streaming your movies from a PC or server.... not tested.

All in all well worth the money Id say... MANY thanks to OP.

Just a word of warning to anyone getting this TV and planning on wall mounting or using the USB regularly - according to the manual here Manual page 13 connections then the USB is on the back which may not be that easy to access.

I have just bought a USB extender from Amazon here Belkin USB extension £2.24 delivered

I know you can get them cheaper but I have had one of those cheap ones from Ebay and it was terrible. Decided to splash out and get a branded name instead!

From what I can gather it has been designed with wall mounting in mind and looks like the HDMI cables come down so no need for a right angled one. HTH

Thanks for that. We don't actually need it as we have a hard wired ethernet installed but for anyone who does that seems like a really fair price - unlike Sony who try ripping you off and also them and Samsung who have terrible CS in my experience.

Bought a bracket off Ebay for a tenner. £210 all in - can't wait to receive it. And I am gonna let the guys install it - on the stand - just cos I can't be bothered and it's included and if any problems they can get resolved there and then.

Perhaps my bargain of the year from this site - thanks again OP!

BTW Can anyone recommend a cheap Gigabit Ethernet Switch, ideally an 8 port switch but even a 5 port will do.

Now with this TV on it's way I really need more Ethernet ports on my home network. I already have a NAS but everything at home is connected via the 4 port Switch that's built into my O2 Broadband Router. I don't know why people are so paranoid that Quidco won't pay up.... on if the links SPECIFICALLY SAYS "Deal of the day + 10% cashback"

To me, this means that even if TV's are excluded from the 10% cashback... because this TV is 'deal of the day' it will be eligible!!!

That added to the fact the the cashback tracked after only 1 hour of my purchase....

Too many people scaring others on this site... If you're not going to buy something... no need to put others off!

It's advertised as 20mm, if it's 20cm it will be going straight back unfortunately. Given where it's being mounted the depth is important to me. This review has put me off a bit:

"If you can get this at the right price then its great but you would probably be disappointed if you paid full price as its not on a par with the well known brands at that price point.
Pros: LED, 1080 resolution, DVD player, PVR, 'non-touch' buttons, Lots of connectivity.
Cons: Sound (like a cheap transistor radio from the 80's), Electronic Program Guide (very basic - no 'table' showing a combination of channels and time). No HD tuner. Remote control receiver is off-centre.
If its your main TV then you will probably want an external (HD?) tuner and speakers, if its a 2nd set for kitchen/bedroom etc then its probably OK.
PS, there is no branding on the TV and the bezel is in (rather a lot of) piano black"

To be fair, was sorta looking for something to put me off as I was torn between this and waiting to see if a good branded TV will go down any further. Lack of a good user interface is a good enough reason for me.

Wow what a ****. Thanks for the sarcastic response, explains why I see so many new posts on here with people saying "please be gentle".

There are TV's that offer a full web browser. This does pretty much everything else. Simple question to the existing owners, sometimes the feature doesn't get clearly advertised.

Lose the "32" off the front of the model number shown on the M&S site and it takes you to this page with a whole bunch of reviews - note the different contrast ratio, and no mention of IPTV but otherwise looks identical - 48 customer reviews therein.

I suspect the one on sale today may be an updated version of that one I link to...

Ebay / Amazon?

Wall mounts start from about £10+last time I looked.
Connectivity - Homeplugs are sometimes on offer for around £25-30+ - same for wireless dongles.

Alternatively you could do what we have and hardwire an ethernet connection into the room you want it to. That cost us about £10 in parts but my OH fitted it all...

Scanning the user reviews on M&S for the product, one person reported: "Have been very pleased so far, with this purchase. The engineer was excellent and tuned the tele in and got rid of the tinny noise without even being asked to. Would recommend this purchase."

Does anyone know what the tv engineer with the 'magic fingers' actually did to get rid of the tinny noise? Or alternatively, recommend how to set the tv up to get the optimum sound quality from the standard set up?

2 May 12 #83
This is supposition, but based on a similar TV I purchased under the brand name Soundwave that appeared to be a clone of a Cello model, there is a reasonable chance that this 32" Cello TV will not be fussed about what brand of WIFI dongle can be used.
The Soundwave / Cello TV that I purchased used a standard WIF dongle with Broadcom chipset.

2 May 12 #63
Yeah - if you are gonna get wired up for FreeSat then you may as well get them to hardwire some Ethernet connections in at the same time. If you have existing aerial points and they are just upgrading that they shouldn't charge you more than £25 per room to add an ethernet socket. Obviously your router has to have enough sockets...

Me too - it's basically a Full HD TV with loads of extras for £40 a year.

Will be very surprised if a TV of this spec with all the features and warranty appears at the same price this year.

Plays any dvd format I have tried so far (AVI, MPEG4 etc.), sockets for AVI and HDMI are on the rear of set on left side, picture is spot on (I have a Panasonic plasma and though not just as sharp it is perfect for a 32" set), sound is on a par with any branded sets (Toshiba, Sony etc.), remote a wee bit fiddly at first but ok once you get used to it, USB is great (can view/record live TV and playback Movies,Pictures and Music from same). Hope this helps.

Usually the T&C specify that they will replace with a similar spec TV if the model is not available.
