its thought that the only way to get centre court tickets at wimbledon is to:
a) get drawn from a ballot
or
b) pay for extremely high priced tickets from ebay/tickettouts
HOWEVER...
Not many people know this but, 500 Centre Court Tickets for wimbledon are on sale to the general public every morning at 9am for £47.30 per ticket!!! (prices do rise as it goes further into the tournament)
you are buying tickets for the next days play so e.g
sunday 20th 9am - buying tickets for monday 21st centre court
monday 21st 9am - buying tickets for tuesday 22nd centre court
The trick is to keep refreshing the page just before 9am until the screen shows that tickets are available, then go ahead and get your tickets for next days centre court schedule!!
You have to be fast if you want the tickets as they sell like hotcakes! They are on sale every night for 2 weeks so if at first you dont succeed...try,try again!!
i went 2 years ago with my friend and its a great day out, the seats are at the back but still a great view and well worth the money in my opinion!
centre court tickets also allow you to watch courts 3-19 for free!! if you do decide to try it good luck! Please post in this thread if you do manage to get tickets through ticketmaster youll have a great time!
There is also a chance to get the day after tomorrows court play everyday at 12pm on ticketmaster. these tickets are a tad more expensive at but will be much closer to the action.
so if you buy these on monday, you will get tickets for wednesdays wimbledon, buy on tuesday for thursdays wimbledon etc etc (Thanks to Barky for pointing this out)

Thanks and since you have been so successful do you have any tips. I have been checking just before 9 then refreshing when it shows no tickets available but how often should I be refreshing. I ask this more for next year since I am leaving the area tomorrow and I don't have tickets so it really doesn't matter.

Federer on Centre Court followed by Murray! Boom!
grundig1987
28 Jun 11#115
Yes you will need to print out the confirmation (the part which tells you what gate to collect them from). I have been very lucky so far and tomorrow will be my fourth visit. I even managed to get returns tickets this time which generally tend to be the non-upper tier allocation. Sat next to the Royal Box Saturday just gone. My only concern is what the schedule of play will be for tomorrow. I would love to see the Federer Tsonga game on centre court (alongside the Murray match which is very likely to be Centre Court), but as Nadal is number 1 that match might be played but it is a bit of a nothing game really.

I dont think they ever sell out for the 5pm admittance but in my opinion it is well worth going for the general admittance in the morning as you get to watch all the tennis on courts 3-19 I think so still a chance of seeing some good matches- its just unlikely to be the big names.
I would think getting there at 9am would get you gen. adm. tickets maybe later as there are usually 6000 on offer- but no guarantees.. Apparently the resale tickets go on sale earlier than I thought too, at (approx) 3pm.
Hope this helps :-)

23 Jun 11#92
I dont know how close you live to london but if you are really desperate to go you could always get a general admittance ticket (£14-20) and purchase the resale tickets (£5) once in the complex late in the afternoon. You will often only get to see one match on centre no1 or no2 but if you live local it can be a good way to see the later matches, i.e Federer today.

I've been trying for days now and its just depressing.
Am I doing something wrong here? I go to the relevant sale screen, keep refreshing and come 9am or 12 noon, it turns live and you can buy tickets. I enter my ticket selection, it goes to security screen and i enter words, it then checks the system and always says tickets not available. I have done this security entering thing over 200 times now.
When I get to the tickets not available screen, should I just click back to renter my selection, or are you guys just hitting F5 at the final screen to try again.
:disappointed:
P.S. I want to go that badly that I am now considering camping overnight or however long it takes. I have always wanted to go to Wimbledon and the stars have aligned that I have time to go this year, but just can't get show court tickets.

One extra tip is to keep refreshing for a while after 9am, the reason for this is that some people who manage to get a ticket at 9am may not purchase the allocated tickets in the set amount of time stated by ticketmaster (I think you have 15 minutes to complete the transaction) therefore after this time the tickets become available again.

It's an experience to go there even though you may not be a big fan of tennis. When you watch it on tv later you will realise how different it is actually being there. The player's tans look deeper, more orange and almost ingrained, and you do actually appreciate how good you have to be to play at this level.
You will see see decent matches on Centre, probably Rafa Nadal playing his second round match.
All depends how much you value your £100.

I'm a huge tennis fan (as big as they come I guess, I go to other countries and stuff to watch) and well to be honest for that price if you're not a huge fan I would keep the money and spend it towards something else. I mean even as a huge tennis fan sometimes I don't think it's worth it.

NEWSFLASH: Other people exist!
If i was interested in 2 people hitting a ball with a net on a stick then i'd get a firefox plugin called 'auto fill forms', one click and it fills in all your details you can even customise it to add your credit card details etc (best to remove them after tho), then get a plugin called 'lazarus' it remembers what you put into internet forms so if your browser crashes you can quickly re-fill a form with the same info you just typed.

Realistically the best odds of getting face value show court tickets are as follows:
1) LTA affiliated club internal ballot - by far your best chance of getting tickets (got my men's QF CC tickets this way, with three applicants to a pair of tickets :innocent:)
2) public Wimbledon ballot
3) Ticketmaster - but at the last minute it's a fantastic opportunity to get tickets.
For those who just want to see Nad, Fed, Djoker etc but can't get Centre Court tickets then definitely check out the WTF at the o2 each year in November. Indoor hard court tennis, but a fantastic production with guaranteed top 8 matchups and cheap tickets.

Yeah, alternate days. Saying that don't be so sure that he'll be on Centre Court, ocassionally they put the big guys on court 1 for a round or 2 just to make it more fair on the other guys.

I did this a few years ago and from what I remember you only need to present the card.. The player's tans look deeper, more orange and almost ingrained, and you do actually appreciate how good you have to be to play at this level.
You will see see decent matches on Centre, probably Rafa Nadal playing his second round match.
All depends how much you value your £100.
If i was interested in 2 people hitting a ball with a net on a stick then i'd get a firefox plugin called 'auto fill forms', one click and it fills in all your details you can even customise it to add your credit card details etc (best to remove them after tho), then get a plugin called 'lazarus' it remembers what you put into internet forms so if your browser crashes you can quickly re-fill a form with the same info you just typed.
happy f5'ing
Non-transferable. Looks like your going
If you're picking them up I'm pretty sure the cardholder will have to be present.
Yeah, alternate days. Saying that don't be so sure that he'll be on Centre Court, ocassionally they put the big guys on court 1 for a round or 2 just to make it more fair on the other guys.
and i can go in any of the courts or what?
