Simply text '6 MONTH WEB' to '441' on T-mobile PAYG and for £20 you can have 6 months unlimited internet access. (Fair use policy 1GB per month). Works out at only £3.33 per month.

Why would it not be legal? Tesco don't give you advanced warning of the price of a can of beans going up just because you've bought a can of beans from them before.

You and T-Mobile (EE) entered into an agreement for them to provide you with mobile data for 6 months at a cost to you of £20, which is exactly what happened. The price has now gone up, it's up to you whether or not you wish to buy the service at the new, higher price.

You might have an argument if T-Mobile (EE) were auto-renewing the agreement at the new, higher price without telling you the price had increased, but they aren't, so you don't.

you shuda received a txt msg JayDub. I challenge you to find many ways to get this much data for 6.66 a month though despite the doublein in price so long as the F.U.D don't effect you. Even virgin mobile (pre 4g) & other 3g only MNVOs cudnt beat what I can do with mine such is the quality of the 3g with T-mob. Pls let us know if you find anything tho pls.? Ta

I've been on this deal for years and am gutted to discover now that my current booster has expired that the price has doubled. Never received any advance notification of the price rise at all, how can that even be legal? Not entirely surprised about not being told as EE seem so incompetent that they couldn't find their own nose on the front of their face.

On a PAYG sim, I have exceeded my fair usage policy for this month but still able to stream videos and download files, how's that work?

I used to have this exact service running on a pulse mini for about 2 years.

It is 1GB per month and that ONLY applied to popular video sites like youtube iplayer and so on. Other video sites still worked as well as facebook google etc. The limit was only on the popular video sites.

I can see it still listed as a T-Mobile booster here

But it is a little off putting to read people are having problems activating it as I want to purchase one for my son.

It used to activate pretty much straight away. Maybe one of us could contact EE... I'll give it a try tomorrow and report back.

I think it's crap how unlimited is not unlimited I ran out for this month already by making my phone as the modem for my PS3 that's the only reason why I bought this 6 month thing and my boosters don't work for some reason

It's 1gb (fair usage) but you dont get charged, worst case senario they'll let you know you're well over if they have to (girl at store confirmed this). I got the Blackberry 8110 pre pay upfront last year september topped up £5 to active phone and i have never topped up since then and no problem. it's due to end in couple of weeks, All i have to pay again is £20 for 6months for my services to continue. Hope that helps

could the op change the title text 'unlimted' to '500mb per month' for it to make more sense? - just because some service providers call it 'unlimited' it does not actually mean 'unlimited'.

as zurich has already pointed out their have 500mb in their policey description - so why put 'unlimited' in the title when it is not

On my T mobile pay as you go sim, if you top up £10 in the current month you free internet/texts for the next month. If you then text monthweb to 441 you get free internet in the current month for £5.
Therefore for 5 pounds you have free internet this month and next month and you are left with 5 pounds for calls. So £2.50 a month for free internet which is better then 3.33

how do you know when you are getting near to your 1gb? I have just got a phone with free satnav on it from peugeot. It is a PAYG & sim free. What would the costs be for using this?

They text you when you reach 80% (800mb) of your allowance, then if you go over you can't stream video or download anything between 4pm and midnight, between these times all you can do is browse the web and the rest of the time you can still do anything you want. They never charge you anything extra no matter how much you use/go over the 1gb allowance. I use google navigation and its free to use with t-mobile's unlimited internet.

I'd say it's fair to say "unlimited (fair usage)" only if there is no charge for exceeding it, and no impact beyond perhaps "we think your use is excessive so wish to terminate your service unless you agree to reduce usage - would you like 30 days notice or to decrease your data use?" (with of course no charge for the cessation as it's their call)

Unlimited (fair usage) - Which is it then Unlimited or Limited? I'm confused. It's either one or the other it can't be both. They should rename it the Heisenberg uncertainty tariff or the Quantum tariff.

I doubt (they really aren't reading this I have no illusions lol) the providers are reading this but perhaps they'd like to look at the definitions of the words they are using as shown above. They must have used politicians to compose the tariff descriptions. The use of the word unlimited should be banned unless the service is unlimited.

Ofcom or whoever should really take a look at the whole 'fair usage policy' nonsense, it's not unlimited if they, you know, impose a limit! Waaayyy too many providers using that terminology at the moment.

Ofcom will probably take 5 years to decide about it though, such is their ineptitude.

i think its fair usage of 500mb of data per month as far as i can make out from below but still pretty good.
