I called Vax today to enquire about the Vax All Terrain V-125A. The kind man advised me they were running an offer where they were offering 50% discount on this machine when placing the order thru the help line number 08444 1284551. So I have just placed an order and saved £175 on a very good heated cleaner.
This is only for telephone order as the web site shows the full price of £349.99

I do hope so. I'm thinking of buying it to clean the carpets in my house. They are all off-road.

I've had three Vax carpet cleaners in the past, and this one is just a completely different class.
The main difference is this one is just so easy to use. A brilliantly designed piece of kit, and washing carpets isn't the back-breaking slog it used to be!
If you need a carpet cleaner, buy this one. End of story.

If you mean, is it a vacuum? No it isn't. Multi Surface heated cleaner only.
If you mean, will it suck up spills and wet patches without the need to shampoo. Absolutely!

10 Nov 09#22
So do you need to vacuum the floor before you use this?
griffinm7
10 Nov 09#24
I think the user guide suggests you hoover first, but this cleaner has no problem picking up small amounts of hair and surface dirt.
I always give the floor a quick hoover though.

Just checked the user guide. Suggests you vacuum thoroughly before use.
Here is the online user guide for anyone with any further questions:
Just a wee bit of advice from people that have this. My (once) cream carpet has lots of ground in dirty patches (3 kids and cat) will this cleaner restore my carpet to it's once creamy state?
griffinm7 to Captain Kak
10 Nov 09#28
Well it's certainly a powerful cleaner and the Vax Ultra solution is very good indeed. However, you would probably have to pre-treat stubborn stains or patches before using the cleaner. I think this rule applies to all cleaners, not just this one. If in doubt, call VAX directly and they will be able to offer advice about how to use this cleaner for ground-in stains. I'm sure they have a Stubborn Stain kit you can apply before cleaning.

I bought one of these the last time they did the half price offer (couple of months back).
It's an excellent cleaner, and does the job extremely well. The problem is, once you've done one room, you'll be forced to do the next as the difference is so great :whistling:
I'd highly recommend this cleaner ... especially if, like us, you have cats and dogs

When it mentions hard floor does this include solid wood? as most of my house downstairs is wooden floor or laminate and tiles in kitchen.
but upstairs i have a carpet to one bedroom and hall/stairs would it be a wast of money to buy one pending the amount of carpets i have?
I have original vax washer/vacuum cylinder type , had it for around 8 yrs !

The instructions state:
" If using the cleaner on sealed wood floors, inspect floor surface for worn finish, bare wood or separated joints.
It is not recommended to use the cleaner on wood floors if any of these conditions exist "

i don't think our carpets are too dirty (although i expect i will be surprised what comes out) but they are plain and look a bit tired as the pile is flattened where people walk. Do you think it will make these flat areas look any better?
Thanks

Oh yes! We've got a cheap and cheerful Vax and you'd be suprised the difference it makes - and the colour of the water that you pour away.
This looks the business and is certainly a bargain.
Trouble is, our one works fine so I can't really justify getting this - or can I?:whistling:

As in sealed does that mean varnished? my floor is waxed finish, so i would expect it to lift the wax out as its heat treatment. maybe not a good idea:thinking:

Spoke to a helpful man named Gavin. These are the best on the market and a steal at this price. Even Amazon are £100 dearer.
Comes with large bottles, rather than the usual trial ones, for carpet & upholstery and hard floors.
6 year warranty.
Free delivery.
Even has a hose for doing the stairs or a car.

If you go to their website there still appears to be stock of this machine available - at £249.99 plus postage i.e. £100 off list price - so it would appear that it is just their initial generosity rather than their stock which has run out on this occasion.....
