Showed online as no stock in my local currys but there was one left on the shelf tonight , a resealed box ,looks good, not tested it yet.

Does this have to pluged into a wall socket for extra power? The nearest plug is some distance from the phone socket.

Not tested it yet, waiting to get 4 x AAA tommorrow for the backup power if mains goes out,yes comes with charger so i presume abatteries kick in in the event of a power failure and i can still make calls.

Corded phones don't require batteries (They are powered from the line) The batteries will be to backup the answerphone.

Yes but if i dont put in the back up batteries the manual indicates in the event of a power failure ,date and time settings will be lost, VIP code,security code,OGM1 and OGM2 will revert to default factory settings,disaster!

These will come with a power supply. I don't think the phone line will have enough power for the answer machine or speaker phone.

mine has stopped working, get incoming calls but doesnt seem to ring out, cant hear any dialling tone, might be faulty power supply?
