This is working fine for me except for the fact it crashes after a while. I'm using Vista but while at parents its a really **** connection. Would the connection crash my new PC? I don't want it to be the camera because that would annoy me. So once I have 20 meg again will that fix the crashes? Does anyone know?

I have this webcam, it's ok, does the job on my pc running xp. However, on my laptop running vista it was not having any of it and after mucking about with drivers etc and it still not working.. we called it a day and bourght another, this time a logitech and it worked straight out of the box.
Having been on google about the vx6000 it seems many people have the same problem when trying to run it on vista, mainly trouble with the drivers for the mic.

If you think it's nothing special then problably not, unless you're judging it on what you can see, which isn't really fair. You need to see someone else use it or get someone to look at you and see what they think. Of course you only have their word for it

I can confirm that the voucher does work indeed. I called the store before going there to check store, they only had one and reserved it for me.
When I got there the woman was trying to use the Hardware and console voucher which did not work, then I said to her can you please try the Stationary one (at which point she was like laughing at me saying no way is stationary) but to her surprise it worked.
Excellent deal getting this camera for £15 is excellent, yes you read well £15 it was £19.99 - £5 (voucher) + £0.01p (plastic bag) they charge for bags now. So if you take a bag with you then is only £14.99

1.25mb upload? I presume you are cable broadband (i.e Virgin) and not ADSL (i.e BT Internet) ?
You wont have any problem using this cam if that is your upload speed

2mb download /// if your lucky 512kps upload (0.5mb) and its likely your contention ratio will be 50:1.
When using a webcam you will be uploading

I've had one of these for a while. Got it from Scan about 12 - 18 months ago for about £18 as it was an OEM version (same camera, brand new and sealed with manual and software but packed in a plain box instead of the usual display box).
I'd say it's nothing special, not worth the £50 RRP but good value at this price if you need one.

Any idea if this webcam has a standard 1/4" tripod mount fitting on it?
Seems to be a feature that is getting less & less common :disappointed:
dont often use whsmith, in fact never, but it seems first class delivery is free (as opposed to the default saver delivery)...is that normal?! heat added!! thanks!
