Though the phones are out of stock in most of the Stores, i managed to find twin set in Mill Hill Store, which is a kind of out of city store. The Phones are awesome and really worth for the price.

The white Orb phone is good, bought it a few weeks ago. It's well.... white, so looks ultra modern (in an iPod kinda way) and great in the kitchen, but if you've other black electronics might look outta place. Very clear sound, loud ring and there's a handy handset locator on base.

If its not an option you can always use access numbers, much cheaper - calls to Australia for 0.5p a min.
I have a landline and adsl but can I still have "full phone" installed on top of that? The full phone website doesn't state how much it'd cost to install one though. I'd like to be able to make free calls to Australia (skype is not an option for the people on the other end.) Thanks!

the orb ones have. this function, you can call the other phones for a quick chat or transfer the call to another handset!
i picked them up last night(only got 3) and left them chargin over night. only problem ive met so far is the power cables/line cables are soooooooooooooooooooooo short!! well, i think theyre about 2 metres which is nowhere near long enough for what i need! but a simple extension should do the job! otherwise very nice phones, and dont understand how people found it hard to transfer the numbers?! sooo easy!!

Not true.
a) The handset has to be able to support callier id.....PLUS....
b) the network has to have the caller id feature activated on your line (some charge for this).
I do second your last point though, both Binatone and Wharfedale handsets are notoriously "junk"!
Stick with Pana or Siemens IMHO, especially for something so important and frequently used like a phone - for the sake of £20-30 why take shortcuts which can impact your quality of life and wellbeing!! :-D

Many thanks, picked up the £7 one. Can I use eneloop (ready to use rechargeables) batteries in it instead of the ones it comes with? The reviews said battery life is crap but it only comes with 500mah batteries, whereas the eneloop ones are 800?
I'd never use a landline to ring a mobile, cheaper to use your mobile especially if you have a decent contract, but for ringing 0871 numbers (i.e. Wolves' ticket line) it's much cheaper.

Masts are all around emitting god only know what anyway, then theres satellites etc, but seriously, does anyone really care?!?! Landline is cheaper than mobile unless youre a tightwad who insists that everyone calls you. My cousin went mobile to avoid the rental costs but then used to givve one ring and hang up so that you called him at your cost.... soon went back to landline once he'd been sussed :whistling:

Does anyone know if I would be able to mate the Wharfedale picture frame with another handset as my visually impared mother would not like the black one, she has to have white to see the thing, and we already have a triple set that she knows how to use, but I thought if I took photo of a white page with each contacts name in big letters then with the caller display feature that someone said brought up the appropriate photo, she would be able to see who was calling.

The phone plus frame does have intercom function but you need another handset to do it, the frame doesn't work as a handset. Though saying that, you can answer an incoming call thru it. It's a bit of a halfway house really.

I've bought the Wharfedale phone with the lcd photo frame.
It's a bit of an oddity. The is stand alone but you can control some functions of the phone thru it (it connects wireless to the base unit). It can be used as a speakerphone. You can set the ring-tones, volume etc thru it.
It displays photos (duh), the time or calender. If you have caller ID you can have it display a pic of the person calling you, which is nice.
The handset is ok, bit tacky.
It's difficult to give a proper review as the handset is still charging. I'll let you all know if I decide to keep it or swap it for the 3/4 handset deals.

You only need one phone socket for the main base unit - the other 2 units are just plugged into a mains socket.
