Hi.
There is still a lot of information about Hemp Seed oil on the Internet. As well as all the 3, 6 and 9 omega oils, it also contains two chemicals CBD and HTC which are reported to kill cancer cell but not the healthy cells surrounding them. Also, the reports I read said it can cure a lot of other illnesses, if not all?
It also stated that people that smoked cannabis, even though it contains carcinogens, didn't go onto develop Lung Cancer due to these two chemicals inhibiting tumour growth.
Seems to be a 'cure all' supposidly and I suppose the pharmaceutical companies would not be very Happy if everyone turned to this oil to treat their illnesses instead of using their products.
As I said, there is still a lot of information on it on the Internet. Well worth reading. Look up Rick Simpson.
Happy Hemping all. ☺☺

As CBD & HTC are the active ingredients in cannabis, unsurprisingly they don't really make it into the hempseed oil sold in Tesco
Well, not on our planet!

Went to tescos today, only oil they didn't have, sham. so I got the Rice Bran oil @ £1.49 instead which is meant to do a similar thing of reducing cholesterol absorption.
I get the similar hemp oil from the health shop which I use in salad dressings.
Hemp is different from cannabis. Although related. Apparently contains THC, but not much.
Anyways, hot. Might get myself some.
However anyone know what it tastes like? After years of eating space cakes I cant stand the taste of the related stuff.

As the bottle says, it has a nutty taste - similar to flaxseed oil but milder. I take a tablespoon (15ml) a day of this neat or stir it into some pasta, it's noticably good for skin, hair and nails if you have 'problem' skin.

Also apparently good for many skin conditions, such as eczema, in oil form (applied directly to the skin).
The seeds are also tasty and can be found in many supermarkets (though sometimes hard to find).
Holland and Barratt also stock it I believe, though probably more expensive.

Lol.
Are you sure the fatties aren't getting the munchies after consuming the oil and eating even more fat? Which has then caused the fat mountains to become dangerously low-fat.

Ridiculous - hemp products are NOT banned in the USA. And my ASDA sells this oil. It has a short shelf life and can go rancid quickly so keep cool and away from direct sunlight. Use within 1-2 months of opening.

I thought they were 750ml, but I have two in the fridge - and they are 500cc. The bottles look pretty big for only 500ml.

Why is this banned in America?
Can you use this oil with pretty much any type of cooking?

Because it made really fat people slim, and has slowed down the US econmoy because they ain't spending as much on fat people things, and food.

I think you are supposed to take it cold and not cook with it as heat will destroy its healthy properties.

All hemp products are banned in America - due to its association with cannabis, and growing hemp was illegal in all US states until recently, with five states now permitting growth.
Funnily - in the past - it was illegal for farmers in the UK NOT to grow hemp if they had over a certain area of land. This law was passed in the days when the UK had sailing ships, and the strongest natural material (hemp) was used to make the ropes and sails of these ships.
I am not really the right person to ask about cooking with it - as i only add a little to the POT when i am cooking noodles or pasta, to stop them sticking to the edge. The more you add - the more nutty/woody the taste.

Hemp Oil
Hemp seed and oil has been called "Nature’s Perfect Food for Humanity" - a wealth of health for everyone.
The oil can be used as part of a nutritional programme to maintain and improve good health. With a pleasant nutty flavour, Hemp Seed Oil is ideal for use in salad dressings, mayonnaise, dips etc. It is not suitable for frying as this reduces the benefits.
Hemp has had a long-standing relationship with humanity; modern science reveals that it contains all the essential amino acids and essential fatty acids necessary for human life, as well as a rare protein known as globule edestins that is very similar to the globulin found in human blood plasma.
Four years after the Marijuana Tax Act passed in the US, a researcher writing for a 1941 edition of Science lamented the loss of access to the hemp seed's rare and important globule edistins; "Passage of the Marijuana Law of 1937 has placed restrictions upon trade in hempseed that, in effect, amount to prohibition....”
Hemp seeds contain the most balanced and richest natural single source of essential oils for human consumption. The E.F.A.'s not only help to restore wasting bodies, but also improve damaged immune systems, so it is not so surprising that modern researchers have studied them in relationship to the modern immune attacking AIDS virus. (Eidlman, M.D., Hamilton, ED.D, Ph.D 1992).
Hemp oil is natures most balanced oil for human nutrition (3:1 LA to LNA ratio) and is easily digestible; in fact this oil could provide all of our Essential Fatty Acid (EFA) requirements for life, due to the balanced 80% EFA content of the oil.
Research has shown that this nutritional oil was once a part of worldwide dietary intake, as it was one of the first cultivated crops. All natural foods contain some substances, which are essential to life. Oils for example, found in nuts and seeds, contain significantly higher amounts of essential fatty acids than other foods.
Much information about Hemp has been systematically removed from written texts since the 1930's and is now difficult to find. Many of the myths about hemp, perpetuated by governments to this day relating to hemp being a drug crop are incorrect and simply propaganda created to make way for synthetic man made products.

I think it's more to do that parts of the Hemp plant can be (ab)used for recreational purposes (These properies are not in the oil though.). For this reason, cultivating Hemp is illegal in some countires. BTW how much is in the bottle? 500ml?
