Just to let everyone know. I took out a sim only contract (£5.95) from Life a few months ago, I just back checked the emails and it took 3 days from the initial "processing order" email until I got a "dispatch" notice.

This can't be kosher. If it can't be found directly from within the sites own links, I would begin to wonder as to the 'real world' availability. These are probably special links for a particular purpose. If you change the number at the end of the link you can get all sorts of 'tariffs' such as:
/116 - 3000 mins / 5000 txts / 2GB data - £1 month (mentions a handset too.) or /117 - 4000 mins / 5000 txts / 4GB data - £1 month (MPD handset???.)
Some are also 'special' tariffs from Uswitch and other 3rd parties.
Phsycronix
31 May 16#112
It looks like Mobile Phones Direct do offer Lifemobile tariffs along with their handsets. I guess the web addresses on Lifemobile are the one's MPD use when ordering Sims for the 'free' handsets. Just a theory, of course...

Error We Are Sorry For The Inconvenience
There seems to be a problem with the sending of your confirmation email however your order has successfully been placed. Please contact the customer service for more information.
Any order you send to us for the purchase of specific goods and/or services constitutes an offer for the goods and/or services selected. We are not obliged to accept your order. We will send you a first email letting you know that we have received your order. We will then check your order, which may include performing a credit check, and decide whether to accept it. No price, or other information displayed on our site will bind us until we have accepted your order. The price you will be charged for any goods or services will be the price in force when your order is accepted by us. If we do accept your order, a contract will be created at the time we send you a second email confirming your order. You will be deemed to have received our acceptance of your offer once we have correctly sent an email to your electronic mail box.

I guess the OP stumbled onto one of these 3rd party sites and got a 'special' link that should only be available via said site. If you look at many of the other tariffs not listed on their "Tariffs" page, you begin to see that they are just holding pages for various past/present/maybe future tariffs. Some make no sense like a small tariff costing more than a medium or large one! Hehe. I'd be all over this like ham on rye if it looked genuine but something tells me it ain't gonna happen...

A rejection has no effect on a persons credit rating as the result of the credit file search is not recorded anywhere except at the company doing the search, in this case Life Mobile. If you had passed the credit check, the same "damage" will have been done!
If you failed a credit check for a sim only then sorry to say but you haven't been looking after your credit file properly anyway.

a pound a month, but then £6 for 6 months having 4gb of data is still good.
i've just been on live chat with someone else and they've also confirmed the 6 month limit as well. the fact that they're apparently offering the ability to upgrade to a 24 month handset contract after this 6 month period really does scream "marketing exercise" .. this is what she said ..
"There was a deal available last night for £1, which was up-loaded in error. However, as you have already placed the order, we will honour the deal for the first 6 months and you will receive the service as advertised and ordered. During the fifth month of your agreement we will be in touch to advise what tariffs will be available to you once the six months has ended. However, you’ll not be able to change tariff on this SIM. The deal will be priced at £1 for six months at which point the tariff will revert back to the actual tariff price. You’ll also be able to upgrade to a 24 month handset contract after this 6 month period."

1 Jun 16#215
Weird, because i've just spoke to Life Mobile and received confirmation that they're honouring it. This is what i've cut and pasted from live chat ..
Me : "i need to check the situation regarding the contract itself - is that price a promotional price ?. there wasn't anything on the site that indicated that it was and the impression it gives is that it's that price going forward and will remain that price for as long as you stay with life mobile." Conor: "Ok, what happened was that £1.00 contract offer was a error and have been corrected , but Because you have already took out the contract at that price and it has been authorised, we are obliged to give you the contract at that price" Me: "Wow" Conor: "Ino:)" Me: "so it'll definitely remain at £1 a month for as long as i stay with life mobile ? something similar happened a few years ago with my sister and t-mobile and they gave her a "free" sim-only deal but it was only for 1 year in the end" Conor: "Yes, but you can't change to a different tariff, you would have to stay on that tariff for that price"

They said it reverts to the standard contract rate after a text message/update on the 5th month - at the moment there isn't a matching contract so it's either £7.95 or £9.95 per month with a change to the minutes or data allowance. They will also offer a mobile phone upgrade option too.

I'd imagine there's a section in the T's & C's that also allows them leeway in event of an "error" - not that this was an error because i think it was simply marketing.
i was right .. here it is ..
as long as they write to you in month 5 informing you of the change in terms of your contract, they can do what they like.
there's a whole set of terms in section 7 as well that cover this, so it's a nice try but it won't get you anywhere

Well that was interesting.
Spoke to Life. Deal is real but only for 6 months & couldn't say how much it will go up to.
Rang Virgin mobile for my PAC code & the woman there says I bet they change it after just 1 month.......
Really worried now as my current Virgin deal is amazing.. Your allowance:Unlimited Mins to 084/087 numbers, Unlimited Mobile Web, Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Minutes Your tariff price:£6.50
She did just say they have sent me a letter to say my tariffs will be going up £3 a month as they want customers on crazy retention deals to either leave or move onto their current rates but with a £1 discount max only!
Seems as though Virgin has filled their customer numbers & want to get shut of a few who after 8 years have amazing deals.
Looks like Life mobile is doing what Virgin did, get customer on crazy offers, get their numbers up then loose a few through price increases.
This deal will save me £51 over 6 months tho, so top marks for the OP!!!!
HankHandsome
1 Jun 16#269
seems like the left arm doesn't know what the right arm is saying .. one says it'll be honoured indefintely as long as you stay on the same tariff, one says it'll be honoured for 6 months.
i'll wait for the sim to arrive and get back in touch with them to see if there's a more definitive answer.

1 Jun 16#270

HankHandsome
1 Jun 16#271
If you've genuinely got unlimited everything for £6.50 a month, do NOT give it up because you'll never get it again at that price - even with the price increase, £9.50 for unlimited everything is a steal.
Aside from the fact i'm always gobsmacked how many people have unlimited everything for less than a tenner with virgin and i've spend about 7 years trying, and failing, to do the same, you're giving up a fantastic deal for one that will only last for 6 months.
It's honestly not worth the hassle for a 6 month deal with life mobile, but that's just me. If you're sure you want to do it then go for it, but with the deal you've got, I wouldn't.

You never know for sure. I had a t-mobile sim-only deal for £1 it was a 12mth contract when it got near the time to run out i cancelled it and then after about 2 weeks add gone by the term it was all over the internet that you didn't have to cancel and it was still running for months afterwords.....So you never know suppose it depends whether they want to keep you or not.
How did t-mobile do it? this was way before they went in with EE.
HankHandsome
1 Jun 16#303
highly unlikely they'll offer any discounts as incentives to stay. to be honest, i'd be surprised if they offered anything at all to stay really. i think the most you're likely to get is maybe additional minutes or a data bump if you elect to stay with them, but they really hold all the cards in this situation if you think about it.

I don't think EE will suffer from this no matter how many signed up. It will be small beans in their overall business.
BignRed84
1 Jun 16#305
They don't actually have this deal though now on offer, so what will they offer after 6 months
True.. But if loads of people have got these sims and are planning to take the p*ss eg. by constant streaming etc., then this could affect the performance for other EE users and they could introduce a fair use policy or stop tethering .. I'm sure there must be a few thousand that's signed up- news spreads fast!

1 Jun 16#308
This is a crazy good deal and I'm hoping that mine doesn't get cancelled. But if i'm not mistaken, it is 4gb of 3g data and not 4g so realistically it probably won't be too much of a loss on their side. Whilst a lot of people were mulling over whether to take the deal up or not, it gave them a bit more time to damage control.
I'd be curious to see how many contracts were actually entered into though. Thanks OP for posting regardless;

thats nice for you. how much has the scoring company offered to lend you? not a penny? thats because their score is worthless and when a company says you failed the credit check it can be for multiple reasons, failed the credit check is just a catch all reason for rejection.

£1 has gone out from mine too, good riddance Virgin Mobile with your over the top increases (50% increase since I took the contract out).
I was going to move to LifeMobile anyway so this deal if only lasts 6 months is still a good saving and an utter bargain and i'll just go on their standard tariff as I was going to anyway.

Check your facts before you try to refute what others ate saying. EE is now pay of BT, fully owned by BT in clearest terms. EE part of BT

Lol i would check your facts mate before replying and making yourself look silly! I think you mean the 02 deal was blocked by the EU as it reduced the networks down to three! The EE deal did not reduce the networks down as BT had sold their network o2 off years ago! Therefore there were not many concerns!

Just spoke to customer service. Which I would like to add was a freephone number that connected to a UK call centre in less than 2 minutes. My order has been dispatched and should be with me by tomorrow. So looks like this is being honoured for now. Gutted as I only managed the 1GB deal.

does anyone know if the sim works in a locked EE phone?
Why would they say you can't when you can? don't make sense to me EE own life mobile so there is No reason to say no it won't work get it unlocked. You sure you phone is locked to EE?
DavieJones
3 Jun 16#344
Not 100% sure to be honest. I only say that it is, because I bought an "iPhone 6S locked to EE". I believe that a VM sim was placed in it on opening while the number ported over, and the LIFE sim has been working in it ever since. I have a Vodafone sim around here somewhere. I will try that and report back in the morning!!!
EDIT: Yes the phone is locked to EE and a LIFE sim works fine

I got a card error when I tried to order, using 2 different cards, so just left it, no emails or anything, 2 sims arrived this morning! Not got time to go on live chat yet as will need one cancelling and the other one sorting out lol
I thought that my transfer to LIFE was pretty easy with my other one, so those that have asked, it should be.
And as per a convo on here last night, I can confirm that they work in a locked EE phone

Your login details will come with your 'Welcome' email. In the case of my current Life contract the Welcome email came in 4 days after the initial order confirmation.
Just to clarify: You get an order reference email right away (think everybody has that). Then you get an email with details of your "Your LIFE Mobile Order". And finally you get one "Welcome to LIFE Mobile", which contains your login details.
FiveBobBill
3 Jun 16#359
Just to add, for security reasons the sim doesn't activate until 24/48 hrs after you receive it, so it's dead when it arrives. I rang them from a separate Life sim contract I have (£5.95) to cancel that particular contract and switch, but he told me he couldn't do that until the £1 sim becomes active in the next few days. He also asked me where I got the link for the £1 deal, so I just said "online somewhere". He said "Yeah, it was a glitch, it wasn't supposed to be online but you were sharp enough to get on it so fair play mate". He went on to confirm that they would honour the £1 deal for 6 months, and that I would get an alternate offer in 5 months time, but not for £1... "coz that's just ridiculous" lol. All very light hearted and friendly, but main thing is the deal is safe :-)
** Forgot to mention, he's even sending me out a replacement sim, as I'd ordered a Nano instead of a Micro in the panic to get on the deal the other night!

3 Jun 16#385
if you're coming to the end of a contract or you're thinking of changing providers, this is a perfect opportunity to port your number over to LIFE and save a few quid for a few months so then you can, potentially, take advantage of any offers around christmas time.
If you're not, then I agree that it's not worth porting your number over because you'll just be changing it again in 6 months time.
That's why i'm giving the sim to my mum to use in her tablet. she's currently paying a fiver a month for 1gb, but that ends in 2 months, so this will be the perfect replacement until christmas.
DavieJones
3 Jun 16#386
Fair play to LIFE / EE if they honour this for the first 6 months. Enough minutes, txts and data for browsing and Social apps costing £6 for 6 months. My daughter is costing me about £7 a month elsewhere and this is in theory a £36 saving.
I love the ability to cap the account as well (if it's for a child make sure that you change the cap from £5 to £1 as soon as you can. One of my other sims which is with LIFE only ever goes over by £1 a month, unlike my daughters who sometimes gives me a £15 bill. I have noticed that they only ever stop the service (mins or data, depending which one is chargable having gone over the allowance), once their system registers this fact. Often, if I check the usage, I will see that an hour long phone conversation that took the account over the allowance being allowed to continue at 40p a minute, but I am never charged more than £5.95 a month (£4.95 plan + £1 cap).
Using LIFE abroad is pretty cheap as well if you are ringing or txting the UK. If I remember rightly it's about 2p a txt and 4p a minute from much of Europe!!!
I will certainly be keeping mine past the 6 months, as long as they don't offer me a ridiculously expensive tariff. As has been said above, why wouldn't you stay with them, as the current tariff's are reasonable already, but who knows, they may offer one that isn't listed. I am guessing that the error and honouring it for 6 months is in the hope that people will stay long term.
If the rumour of 6 months is true, well done LIFE / EE :sunglasses:

It sounds like you aren't happy with £6 for 6 months. If they offered it for 3 months I don't think that we could complain too much. I only wish that I'd gone for the 4Gb plan. I thought that we were all going to get an email the next morning cancelling the order, so didn't bother to order a second sim.
I have a feeling that we will be offered a special deal in November, that isn't one of their "normal" plans. The plans that we have got aren't the same as their "normal" plans already. I can't see them wanting to have 1000 customers ringing up requesting PAC codes during late November. Would be a waste of CS operator time and clog their phone system up.

3 Jun 16#396
Thats what i'm thinking! Life is cheap anyway so why not try it for six months first and we can grab some customers along the way! You don't put a deal out for a £1 the web page needs to be designed so it wouldn't be a typing error £1 instead of ten as you can set your system to notice any numbers i.e if something is less than £10 are you sure that is correct?
This is deleberate but fair plays to them! Its like the sky code thingy £100 credit and half price line rental!

Been with them for 2 months and love the service, but re Europe, calls, txts, and data are now capped at those prices courtesy of an EU directive. However MMS's (picture messages) are not. I travel quite a lot, and the only gripe I have with Life is they get the arm well in outside the EU directive. They toe the line re calls, txts and data, but charge you 70p to send an MMS from EU!! Vodafone (who aren't cheap) charge 4.3p!!

Cancel your order then if you are not happy. Simple solution, there are plenty of companies who would sell you the same package at £20 a month and connect you quickly. Oh wait, they are more expensive, when a great deal like this is done, there is always a risk that it may be an error, it may not get honoured, or it may take a while to process the orders. The fact they are honouring them should be good enough for any reasonable person, even if it takes a few days to be connected.

What a wonderful way to respond to a miss price. QDOS to them. Even if they ramp up the prices to the regular price point in the future, we've all got at least one month (of our one month contracts) for a quid, so I'm not complaining.
The sim will go in my car computer, so I'll just be using small amounts of data on the move to stream internet radio, live traffic updates and the likes. I work from home and only drive to the shops and family, won't be using texts or making voice calls, for me a quid a month for 1gb of data a month (which I'll likely use less than 10% of anyway) is enough for my loyalty. If the price goes up I'll probably just re-tether the car computer to my phone again which I have unlimited data on.
I wouldn't mind if the price went up to £3 a month, but beyond that and I'd just stick with my legacy 3 sim.

had the email (the only 1) about 5:30pm rang CS to port number over (from EE) but to keep my former number before anyone states I don't have to
been very impressed with customer services, English call centre and no long waits, been told it should take no more then 2 days, either by noon tomorrow or definatly by noon on Wednesday
have every intention of staying with Life, although probably at a lower contract once this one is up in 6 months
once again thanks OP

On lifes website you have to log-in if you haven't got your log-in details yet goto the log-in and press lost user name. Put your phone number in first then your email you signed up with they will send to email address once you have that. Go to login again and do the lost password you have to give the username and your email again they will send you an email to reset you password once you done that you will be able to login with your user and password as normal.

No emails for me either but have just put the sim in my old S3 and checked and it's coming up as TMobile with H+ coverage. Did a speed test and got 8mb down and .4 up which is rubbish compared to my current Virgin sim which is getting 19mb down and 1.2 up and using the same network.
But for £1 a month i'll put up with it and got PAC from Virgin, they made no effort to keep me as a long standing customer apart from offer me lesser packages. They just want everyone off their old VIP contract by the looks of it. Good riddance to them!

Same happened with me yesterday. They never asked me where I was going or how much it was costing. I even said that it was because my daughter often goes over her data limit and that she needs a bigger package. The lady checked and said yes you are right, she does go over her data some months, but gave me the code without question. I think that the number that I requested for the code was only on a £1 pm discount anyway, it is my other two numbers that are on U/L everything with large discounts. I thought it very strange not to try and make me stay, unless there was something on the system that said discount allowance at max.

I was on one of those tmobile sims, I have just changed over to this deal
having bought an iphone I needed a new sim, this turned into a big mistake which caused me to lose the discounts I had from Tmobile
after a number of calls and visits to the local EE store, eventually I was offered a £3 discount on the new tariff I was put on £9.99, however amazingly after I asked for my PAC code for this deal I was then offered my deal (£6) for £4.99

I was not happy with the customer service from EE (typical left hnd not knowing what the right hand waqs doing) resulting in me losing my "FREE" Tmobile deal, all because I asked for a replcement sim. Thats all I asked for, not for a upgrade or a change of network, or lots of hassle with EE shop staff or customer services.
So Sod Tmobile/EE
its Life for me now £1 for 6 months, then I'll go for the £4.95 deal, still cheaper then what EE offered and getting a lot more

Ok so I just called Life for the second time to try and find out why my data is still not working and they told me that those people that have only recently had their number transferred are, like me, most likely still in the process of being moved over. The first time i called the lady told me that everything should be working so i waited a few hours but have now been told the account is still being set up.
It's cheap but i have to say that after a full week and still no account setup in full it's trying my patience but i'm going to stick with it for a few more days and se how it goes.
EDIT: I have an iphone 6 with, obviously, ios 9.3 and none of the manual or auto APN config options have worked and iphones dont allow direct APN setup. I also tried that website above with no luck.

To reward your eagle-eyed savviness, we'll honour the deal for 6 months from your activation date. After this, we'll need to move you to one of our standard tariffs. A great deals and now I am all ported over. Great customer service. Can't fault Life Mobile. They honored a deal that wasn't supposed to be for the General Public. Customer service is UK based and friendly. My porting from TPO (also on EE) was simple. I was advised that it could take up to 5 days. Ported was complete within two days. Oddly it ported the number within 36 hours but data took another 12 hours to work on the new number on Life. My only disappointment is you must log onto your account online to see your balance. Or ring customer services but I wouldn't bother calling them for my balance. I feel that it taking them away from other important tasks oO. Thanks OP.

17 Oct 16#539
I think it was a joke, Life Mobile do not offer 4G at the moment to my knowledge.
Personally I don't care about the speed improvement of 4G, but the coverage would be a huge boost. If they were to offer Life Mobile 4G but capped speeds as it is the BT/EE budget MVNO, that would make me happy enough, especially if we managed to slip under their radar with this price still.
alex_uk
17 Oct 16#540
They do offer 4G speed but someone on hotukdeals reported it's £2 extra and someone mentioned the following plan: 1500mins 4GB of 4G speed £12.50
nige182
17 Oct 16#541
Interesting as there appears to be nothing on the Life Mobile website anywhere, even coverage only shows 3G. A Google search reveals it being reported on HUKD in February but nowhere else.
I think I'll wait to see if this offer is going to be cancelled by EE in December or not. If they let the offer slip or advise of a smaller increase I might try to sort out 4G, otherwise I'll leave anyway so hardly worth the effort.

The prices are the same as the standard sim prices on their website. I had my first Life sim from November 2015, and around June/July time this year they called me and offered me an upgrade to a 4G sim. They said they offer it to customers who have been with them for 6 months. However there was an ongoing problem with switching me to my 4G sim, so I ended up cancelling it. I had gotten one of these £1pm sims a little while before this happened.

Anon32
27 Nov 16#570
Doubt it! It's not an acquisition as LIFE were owned by EE they transfered it to plusnet also owned by BT! Plusnet don't have a mobile provider so it made sense from a BT point of view! LIFE was a legacy of phones4u it didn't fit in with BT's branding! I fully expect EE to be renamed BT Mobile soon as well or maybe even BTEE Mobile lol

nige182
27 Nov 16#574
Depends if you want a firm answer or speculation. The firm answer is that nobody knows. All correspondences we have received state that we will be transferred to PlusNet Mobile with the same tariff we are on now at the same price, suggesting we will continue on £1 per month. However they can still serve 30 days notice to stop the deal at any point.
My assumption, and I think most people would agree, they will likely stop the £1 per month deal very soon, I would expect that we will receive confirmation that we are on PlusNet Mobile now following either immediately or a month later by a 30 day notice that our deal is ending. Basically, if like me you have not yet ported your number into Life Mobile, I would hold off porting it over for a while longer.
alex_uk
1 Dec 16#575
i think right now the plusnet mobile is busy with other issues, like upgrade of customers to 4G, as i phoned them up and they do replacement (optional, if you wish to have their plan) of sim with their £10 plan (unlimited + 4Gb of data).

4 Dec 16#576
The £1 sim deals were guaranteed for 6 months so those of us lucky to get it are in our last month now and so we should be told what the deal is with what we will be charged in January.
I am tempted with the £10 deal however I don't want to swap to that until i've been told what my £1 rolling contract will be changed to. I will call to see what I can find out but I think it needs a lot of us to call so to put pressure on them to come up with an official answer.

nige182
4 Dec 16#579
I won't be trying to argue my way out, if they want to cancel or transfer us on to a current deal, so be it. The issue is the 30 days notice, we have to give 30 days notice to leave, they advised of a temporary deal but did not advise of what the price was rising to, this means notice was not given by them that the price was going to rise. They specifically said, from your own quote "After this, we'll need to move you to one of our standard tariffs. We'll be in touch with you nearer the time to talk through what we have to offer.", they have not served notice of cancellation therefore as they stated they would move us on to a standard tariff, not that they would cancel. They didn't specify which standard tariff so they haven't served notice of a change in tariff. Basically, under any conceivable way they have not served notice, otherwise tell us exactly what they served notice of? Cancellation? Nope. Price rise? Nope. Tariff change? Nope. None of these have met the full required criteria of a notice period by that original message.
If however, they say we have a choice of immediate cancellation or we can take up one of their current tariffs, that then becomes a grey area simply because it would be impossible to refuse to take a new tariff and stop them disconnecting you, they have the power to cut you off even if you have paid your bills, it would then be down to an individual to argue a case to get reconnected or compensation which in this scenario wouldn't really be worth it. Basically there still is no point anyone else contacting them first, since if they decide to take any more than £1 by direct debit from anyone (except in cases of usage outside the inclusive limit) then they have breached the terms and we are covered under the direct debit guarantee to recover the funds.

I'm taking the £10 a month deal as it's 30 days rolling contract 4g and unlimited minutes and texts and 4gb data which can't be beaten anywhere else that I can see.

In all seriousness - there's no rush to get off this deal. Life gave us a commitment to a minimum of 6 months (with 30 days notice) - we were then sold on to plusnet who gave us a commitment that "your mobile service, pricing and plan will stay exactly the same." - the old 6 month minimum has been replaced by a commitment to keep the same deal. There's no rush for it to end  30 days notice will be plenty of time to sort out something new - till then, just enjoy the ride

They still have to give notice as specified in the contract. Saying the contract will change at a certain point is not notice as they haven't said what it will change to. More binding would be the emails and texts from plusnet clearly stating the price will not change.
FWIW I didn't get any emails or texts regarding the 6 months, for either of my two sims. I have also been charged £1 for next month, taking me into month 7.

You are mistaken and quite clearly need to grow up.
I called them because as an existing Plusnet customer I know how useless they can be (they really screwed my broadband order up previously and entirely their mistake) and so I don' trust them to not just let the 6 months lapse and charge you differently without telling you. I want to know what the options are and if (and I admit it's a big IF what I was told this morning is true with how cr4p they are) then there are going to be some disappointed people on this thread thinking they can keep their £1 deal forever lol. Just the fact they intend to phone everyone within 2 days before the 6 months is up should tell you all you need to know as to how useless they are.
Everyone who took out the £1 deals were clearly told by an email from Life Mobile that it was a mistake but Life Mobile would honour the deal for 6 months and then they would be in touch to arrange a new deal. That in Plusnet's eyes is what they are allegedly doing tomorrow and Tuesday, contacting the £1 deal customers to offer them the current deals they have.

The 6 months was not part of the contract - that was just their guidance. The contract requires them to give us 30 days notice of a change to the tariff. Nothing can change that - if they attempt to give 2 days notice, they dont have a leg to stand on. (Oh dear - I've been hooked :$) I doubt anyone thinks this deal will continue indefinitely, but we will have 30 days notice from when they decide to terminate us.

So you believe plusnet mobile, who, if they are the same customer support as plusnet broadband, don't have a clue at the best of times, but we are all wrong, even though I know contract law pretty well? They can't charge you more without the 30 days notice, it is as simple as that.
The contract is between you and them. You have to give 30 days notice if you want to change any part of it or cancel, they have to do the same. Sending a vague text or email 6 months ago is not enough to be able to charge more with 2 days notice. They may ring people this week and say it will go up, but that can only be from 30 days after the notice of change they give you.
If you say the text 6 months ago is binding, then so is the text less than a week ago saying there will be no change to the price or tariff. In fact, legally the recent one would be the one that is valid as it would over ride the previous text, and it was sent by the company you currently have the contract with.
Heres my bill showing month 7 charged at £1

They aren't charging you more are they? They have said that deal comes to an end at 6 months of having it so they aren't increasing it they are stopping it and saying you can move onto a new deal or leave. They have made it clear it's a 6 month deal at which point it finishes there is no need to give 30 days notice of that. The email when they changed to Plusnet Mobile states everything will stay the same which is correct, it has stayed the same 6 month deal which comes to an end as originally stated. You say you know contract law but then argue invalid points such as they can't increase the price which isn't what they are doing or ever said they would do.
The fact people are seeing a 7th month being billed is testament to Plusnet's incompetence as i'd already said was quite possible to come to light having been a customer of theirs for years. If I do get a phone call in the next 2 days I will argue that some customers have already gone into a 7th month and so everyone on the same contract has to be treated the same. That is where they fall down, the sales/technical teams tell you they are doing one thing but their automated systems so something completely different.

I don't think it will be any price increase as right now the Plusnet mobile is very busy, very different to Life mobile, as you need to listen their choice of music on phone at their cost (0800 is free phone number) while waiting for operator to pick up.

Whilst I totally agree with you that PlusNet are incompetent and I am surprised you are with them for your landline still, they can't just overlook the 30 days notice. If they fail to give the 30 days notice we can recover any DD taken by the direct debit guarantee at the wrong amount as they can only legally take the £1 per month until notice has been served. This is why I wouldn't have bothered contacting them, if they change the charge without service proper notice we are all covered anyway as they will have breached the contract.
julieallen
4 Dec 16#607
The only point I am arguing is that they can't change the contract without your permission without giving 30 days notice. Doesn't matter if its price, cancellation or anything, 30 days notice has to be given by either side. If you don't believe me, go onto chat and ask to cancel from tomorrow, I'll bet they charge you for the next 30 days.
'If' you were correct and the contract ended after 6 months then they shouldn't be taking payment for the next month, nor should they be billing people for it.
I think you must be on a completely different contract to me. I am on a 30 day rolling contract. Not a 6 month contract, nor have I ever been informed of any 6 month period, either by text or email. The terms of my contract clearly said if either party want to end the contract 30 days notice must be given. If you agreed to a 6 month period after which they can terminate your contract with 2 days notice then more fool you, I certainly wouldn't have. If you didn't agree to it then they can't give less than 30 days notice, as per their contractual obligation. That is basic contract law, one side can't change the terms without the others consent, otherwise there would be no point having contracts!
I wouldn't argue that, just say they have to give you 30 days notice, if they say they don't ask them for a copy of the contract where it states differently, or your agreement to waive the 30 day notice period.

It was a 30 day rolling contract that was clearly a pricing error that to their credit they honoured and said everyone could keep it for 6 months at which point it ends and then you can go onto a new deal. There is no 30 day notification needed once you've been told that less than 1 month into the 6 months. They have given more than 5 months notice of cancellation of the deal you can't then complain you want a 30 day notification as well just because you want it.
You clearly don't know contract law like you think you do.
If you never received any email or text then that is a valid point to argue with them where they will have to prove they notified you.
The fact they have taken a 7th month is the error which isn't surprising but doesn't change the details of that text clearly stating it's for 6 months only. They have made an error in your favour and anyone else who gets a 7th month which should now be everyone if they give it to one they need to give it to all on the same contract.

From the opening post - clearly a 30 day rolling contract and not a 6 month contract.
After the 30 day rolling contract was agreed they claimed to have made a mistake but said as a gesture of goodwill words to the effect of they wouldn't give the 30 day notice for at least 6 months. They cannot unilaterally change the contract from a 30 day rolling contract to a fixed term 6 month contract. What they can do is give 30 days notice.

Not sure why you are laughing. As i stated I had no texts or emails from them on either phone number or either email address. As I haven't agreed to any contract changes I cannot be held to it. I know contract law very well, but if you can show me a link showing that one party can change the terms of a contract without agreement from the other, and/or without notifying the other party of the changes they were making, then you will turn many a court case on its head.
If what you have put above is the exact text you got that 'changed' the terms of the contract, where does it say they have changed the cancellation period from 30 days? What you have provided only states they will be in touch to discuss it, nothing about changing the notice period.
Plusnets email on Friday to me did state
So if anything, they have been in touch at around the 6 month stage, and decided not to change things after all.
Plusnets terms from the date they took over state
Clearly says they will give 30 days notice, not 2.
Clearly states 30 days notice for any change of contract. Being allowed to terminate your contract with 2 days notice would be a change, they haven't gave 30 days notice, therefore they can't.

So when everything is good and you don't need to speak to them it's fine, it's just when you have to get them to do anything it falls way short on customer service and having a clue what they are doing.
Plus as it turns out the person I spoke to confirmed they are still the same Life Mobile team as we dealt with 6 months ago they just work for Plusnet now so still the same team dealing with the 6 months issue etc.

I'm laughing because you are ignoring points and just picking out bits you want to argue about.
You can give more than 30 days notice which they did via that text, it doesn't have to be exactly 30 days that is just the minimum term so no you really don't understand contract law. Are you suggesting if they gave you 31 days notice it wouldn't be valid or 32 or 33 or so on? 31 days or 5 month plus notice is valid notice, it is more than the minimum of 30 days they are required to give.
I clearly stated if you tell them you didn't receive such a notification you have a valid point which they need to prove they did notify you but you chose to ignore that part of my reply.
And you really aren't understanding their email when they switched to Plusnet. That email is completely correct, the deal you are on stays the same i.e. the price but also the 6 months end point will stay the same. I've already pointed this out and you have chosen to ignore this.

The T&C confirm 30 days notice from them to end the agreement.
"22.2. We'll normally try to give you 30 days' prior notice before suspending or stopping providing our services and/or ending our agreement). However, we may not do this if we believe there is a real risk of loss or harm to us, our network or our other customers (for example, if you’re not paying for the service or where there is a reasonable suspicion of fraud or other abuse)."
There's nothing in the "abnormal" part that would allow less than 30 days notice (e.g. we're currently paying for our service and we're not committing fraud or anything like that)
nige182
4 Dec 16#617
They never stated what price it was going up to though, that is why they legally have to give 30 days notice. They cannot just say "this is a six month deal", then in six months time put it up from £1 per month to £200 per month, that is illegal. I know that I have exaggerated as it wouldn't go up to £200, but the fact remains they have to advise the price after the promotion otherwise they have no grounds to increase the price without 30 days notice other than reasonable increases such as inflation.
It even says in that message "We'll be in touch with you nearer the time to talk through what we have to offer." In other words, before your offer ends, we'll advise you what we have available to you. If you have to give 30 days notice to cancel, they have to give the same notice by law of any price rises.

They have sent that text saying it's for 6 months, that is notice. The phone calls if they happen or email if they send one out is to tell you have a choice to take up one of their current deals as the 6 months has ended or you can cancel and leave. The 6 months comes to an end the 6th December for me and I would assume for the majority of us as well all took the deal the same short time it was available.
Try arguing the points with them not me, the fact they sent that text is giving notice more than 30 days ago they don't have to wait 30 days before hand and by inviting you to take one of the current deals in the next 2 days is contacting you offering a new deal. I don't see any way of successfully arguing your way out of this.

So you take it to court and:
You - judge they haven't given me my 30 days notice to cancel. The judge - so what was that text notifying you it would end after 6 months? You - but that's not 30 days notice The judge - no it was more than 30 days notice telling you your 30 day rolling contract would end after 6 months. There is no case to answer here You - oh but but... The judge - NEXT!
I really don't see what is so difficult to understand that text is their get out of jail card. It is written notification your deal ceases after 6 months. There is no further notification needed other for them to contact you and offer you an alternative deal to try to keep you as a customer instead of just cutting you off. They are not putting the price up the deal ceases to end. They could legally just cut you off at 6 months and it would be your responsibility to port your number before the end of the 6 months. Obviously they wouldn't do that as they want to try and keep you as a customer and that's where offering you a new deal comes into it.

Their email was notice of intent to terminate the deal after 6 months - they'll be in touch nearer the time to formally do it. They never were, but when they are, they will need to give us 30 days notice. They cannot give us notice to transfer us onto another deal until they give us the specifics of what deal that will be transferring us onto and what it will cost. They decided not to do this for whatever reason.
They have now renewed into the 7th month - are you claiming that they now have the authority to terminate the agreement at any time, without any notice because of one vague email over 6 months ago? That's obviously nonsense!
You keep criticising all of your misunderstandings as not being surprising because its just what you expect from plusnet support that aren't very good - but as I understand it, this is still the same Life mobile team managing the situation as has always been - and probably at this stage has very little to do with plusnet. Plusnet will do what they'll do, and we should await their notice of change, if/when it comes. And you have been doing exactly the same. You keep quoting the same line from the message which nobody has disputed. In fact last time you made the whole part bold as if to say focus on this. Here you go:
we'll honour the deal for 6 months from your activation date. After this, we'll need to move you to one of our standard tariffs. We'll be in touch with you nearer the time to talk through what we have to offer.
Let's focus on that and you tell us what exactly they have given notice of. I'll walk you through it for the whatever number time this is as at least three of us have told you already.
we'll honour the deal for 6 months from your activation date.
Yes this says they will honour the deal for six months from activation. To be a formal notice they have to say exactly what will happen at the end of the six months, now as I see it there are three options: 1. Termination. The contract will end and you will be disconnected. 2. Price rise. The price agreement will change and the price will rise. 3. Tariff change. The tariff will end and you will be transferred to a different one.
After this, we'll need to move you to one of our standard tariffs.
So they have chosen option 3, to change the tariff. Now to be a legally binding notice of at least 30 days, they must advise exactly what tariff they are changing you on to, or if they giving you the option, what your options are with a default option if none is chosen before the end of their notice period.
We'll be in touch with you nearer the time to talk through what we have to offer.
They have not notified you what tariff you will transfer to, not even what options are available. Until they do this they have not served 30 days legal notice. Until you can produce the proof that this constitutes formal notice despite being incomplete, I think you should accept you are wrong.
We will all know soon enough what their intention is if your response from PlusNet is anything to go by. However their incomplete notice would not stand up in court as a formal notice as it did not specifically state what would happen at the end of the notice period.
Moreover, this is more likely what would happen in a court if it ever went there:
You - judge they haven't given me my 30 days notice to cancel. PlusNet - so what was that text notifying you it would end after 6 months? You - that is not a notice to cancel, it states I would be transferred onto a standard tariff, of which they have many without stating which one. PlusNet - that is what we have offered, we called you the day of your renewal to offer you which one to take out and for the next month. You - where is the notice then? If I choose none I have to give 30 days notice to cancel, so I will be charged for at least one month on a tariff I never agreed to. PlusNet - not our fault The judge - PlusNet did not serve a full formal notice and therefore they are in breach of contract, I rule that the claimant pay £1 in full and final settlement of their final months bill. NEXT!
You are in a minority of 1 who thinks that their original message constitutes a legally binding formal notice. It doesn't as it was incomplete. As stated before by your logic they can put your bill up to £200 for December without giving any further notice and you have no choice but to pay.
Sp0oner
5 Dec 16#627
They have formally told you the deal is for 6 months only. What you do at the end of the 6 months is up to you. You have the choice of staying with them on what deals they have at the time or porting your number off elsewhere.
How anyone who received the text can dispute the fact they have said the deal will end after 6 months I do not know. And if you accept that fact then it goes without saying you understand that is notice that the deal ends and there is no further notice needed.
Please tell me where there is any legal requirement for them to continue to provide you with a service after 6 months? If a contract ends between 2 parties then it is down to renegotiate a new contract which they have said they are willing to do at the time or for you to take your business to another company.
As for your claim i've said they can put your bill up to whatever they like it just shows you clearly don't understand what the termination of a contract is. If it's finished the service is no longer provided so no there is no charge and they can't put your bill up. It is plainly clear you can discuss taking a new deal with them i.e. a new contract at the point of the 6 months lapsing so as to not lose service. Either that or port your number to a new provider if you don't wish to lose it.
Be my guest and take it to OFCOM and report back what they have to say on it. We can agree to disagree on the point of law because I will hedge my bets Plusnet's corporate legal team would win over your argument every time.
There is one issue I will admit could be their downfall and that is if it is argued a text message is not an acceptable method of notification because there is no proof the customer ever received it. This can be a get out clause to argue with Plusnet because they can't prove you received it when text messages are not a reliable source of communication. I know i've sent messages and the recipient never received them and vice versa as i'm sure the majority of people have experienced at some point.

They never said that your contract terminates after six months though, it is still a 1 month rolling contract you signed up to and they never advised it was not. Therefore they cannot just disconnect you without a months notice either. If you want to win this argument, call PlusNet and ask them to cancel your contract at the end of the six month period which is tomorrow (or whenever) and see what they say, they'll still demand that 1 months notice and charge you the extra month because no formal notice was given. You are a minority of one, several people have already corrected you yet you still seem convinced that somehow you are right and everyone else is wrong. So I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree as if and when they cancel and give the one months notice still required you will merely claim they are "being generous" as they "already gave the notice before".

5 Dec 16#633
They said the deal will run for 6 months therefore that means at the end of the 6 months your 30 day rolling contract of £1 a month will no longer exist i.e. yes it is terminated. They could have cancelled the deal straight away admitting it was a pricing error but to their credit they didn't plus it would have caused massive issues for them.
You still think just because you and a few others disagree with me that makes you right. No it's just a matter of interpretation and I will put my money on a large company's legal team winning an argument with a few customers over how they have worded their position regarding a product/service they are stopping providing to you.
And to answer your argument about saying I want to leave and call them up that's exactly a question I put to them saying as my 6 months has finished as of Tuesday if I don't want a new deal/contract with you then I can go elsewhere as you are terminating my current deal. The person I spoke to didn't know what to say because they assume you will take a new deal with them. However as I want to keep my number i'd have to be quick under those circumstances as if you leave your number won't go with you unless you have already given your pac code to another provider and they port it before the end of your service with your current provider. But in theory yes if I didn't mind losing my number I can just walk away at the end of the 6 months tomorrow because they are saying the deal has ceased.
It all looks irrelevant now anyway as more and more people are being charged a 7th month meaning what their staff said over the phone isn't matching up to what their automated systems are doing. Another utter balls up by them in our favour.
nige182
5 Dec 16#634
You are one of those people that can't accept the idea that you are wrong. You say that it is terminated, yet their words that you quote and ignore state that "After this, we'll need to move you to one of our standard tariffs." This is not a notice of termination from them but a notice of change in tariff.
Under their terms: 7.1.3 We can suspend, change or withdraw Your Price Plan, Price Plan Services or Additional Commitment Service. We will give You Written Notice 30 days before We do so. The change will then apply to You once that notice has run out.
Since they have not said what the new tariff is, they have not actually served notice to change the price plan. What they have done is inform us of their intent to change the price plan, until the details of that change are announced notice is not served.
Just because PlusNet are useless, but potentially have good lawyers, doesn't mean they can break the contract they wrote. We signed up to their contract terms so any correspondence they give in the way of notice has to comply completely with their terms. Any ambiguity favours us as the party who DIDN'T write the contract so they have to make sure that what they send us is very clear.
If it came down to anyone having to take PlusNet to court over this for some reason, I would put my money on PlusNet settling out of court as it would cost them less to settle than to argue it in court given that their victory is not guaranteed.
As for you thinking you could just walk away in a couple of days without serving notice, clause 7.2.2 in our contract makes it clear you have to give 30 days notice to end the contract and leave them. The only way around this is if when they advise of a price change or tariff change, you give them notice immediately of your intent to leave before their change comes into effect. If you are taking their notice as being given six months ago, then your notice to leave had to be given six months ago or else you have to give the full 30 days notice to leave today.
As we can all see though, they are honouring the deal for a 7th month anyway, so either they are going to serve a months notice now or they are going to let it roll. Either way, we are up on the original deal we all expected.
Frankly if they decided to just cut me off after month six, it wouldn't cause me a huge problem as I never transferred my number in anyway, if they decide to suddenly increase the monthly charge, that would be when I take action of invoking my consumer rights and the direct debit guarantee.

Still waiting for you to post a link to some case law to back up your ridiculous statements. And I did clearly address all the points you mentioned, no matter how many times you say I didn't, I even posted the part of the contract stating they will give 30 days notice before any changes are made. The text is not part of the contract at all. As I said, ask them to cancel today and be cut off immediately with no penalty and without having to pay for the next 30 days, see what they say if you don't believe me. I'll bet my house on them saying you have to pay the next 30 days, as 30 days notice is required.
There is no 6 month end point. I did not get a text or email, and the contract states any changes will be published on their website, can you find it, as I didn't see it when I was looking through it last night.
winchman
5 Dec 16#637
It was a monthly contract so they could have gone back on their word and changed the price at month 2, 3, 4 or 5 if they wanted to. They said they would let it run for 6 months but that was not the actual legal contract, it was them being nice.
thomas01155
6 Dec 16#638
The original email they sent wasn't explicit enough as it didn't contain a precise date and what the exact price change would be, so in my personal opinion it wouldn't stand up as a 30 days minimum notice. I don't believe they intended this to be a minimum 30 days notice due to common sense and also how vague the contents were regarding a date and exact price changes.

nige182
7 Dec 16#642
I got a call from PlusNet a few days ago actually, but it was about my 'interest in their launch offer' and to see if I wanted to go ahead and take it out over the phone. I wasn't specific with them, but I did say I was a Life Mobile customer and had opted in for the offer in case something went wrong with the transfer of my current deal. They said ok then, you have until January anyway to take it up if you wish.
I am curious if anyone on this deal or otherwise who has transferred from Life Mobile are getting a 4G signal? All PlusNet tariffs are 4G but our Life Mobile one was 3G, I assume we remain on 3G unless we transfer to a PlusNet tariff as they did say your tariff will remain unchanged.

Well I made the comment 6 months and 2 weeks ago after buying the sim...got a text from Plusnet about taking the next £1 payment this month...so can we assume that we wont be given the dreaded forced push by Plusnet to change our £1 tariff due to the pricing made by Life Mobile over 6 months ago??? Just checked my online account and looks like they have taken seven lots of £1 :smiley_cat:

19 Dec 16#649
It has definitely gone over the 6 months. I would wait for the January bill if you are debating on porting your number. By then they should have had a chance to sort through the PlusNet Mobile launch rush and Christmas break so I would hope that if they are going to end the deal soon we should hear in January. Obviously they can end it at any time but if you are waiting to port your number in still you need to take the plunge at some point or continue running both indefinitely.
rimz790
19 Dec 16#650
I will need to wait until May to port my number over from Vodafone, so I guess up until then I'll be waiting to see what happens 8)X)
nige182
19 Dec 16#651
Oh that works well for you then, if there is no update by then I would say it would be worth the risk of porting in then. My only risk is I have about £15 credit on my GiffGaff sim, so I don't want to port the number in until that is spent and I don't want to waste it or try transferring to another service such as PSN or Android (if GiffGaff works for those) until I am fairly confident the deal will keep running. So if we haven't heard anything by the January bill I will have a look what I can do with my GiffGaff credit. Luckily I have a dual sim phone so for now it is fine running both sims but I do have another sim I wanted to put in it (low use sim but better data coverage for when outside PlusNet 3G data area).

nige182
17 Feb 17#663
Yeah, I have one of the mini to micro cutters about that I used before and am happy with, but mini and micro are both the same thickness. Nano is thinner and that is part of what worries me about cutting it down. I might try in Carphone Warehouse or something, see if they can do anything in store.

nige182
28 Apr 17#671
They won't cancel it just because you called. I had to call twice to get a new nano sim and was reluctant for the same reason. The first call was to order a replacement for the new phone (note to anyone else, they may charge if you say you lost your sim as per their terms, presumably because they have to cancel the old one first, but I genuinely needed one for a new handset and they sent a triple sim free of charge), the woman just placed the order for a new sim. The second call was to activate the new sim after it arrived, at the end of the call the guy on the other phone saw the deal I am on and said something like "you've got a boss deal there", and that was it. I called in the evening so the customer service staff at that time probably don't generally give a crap about what deal you have.

I've still got this but lately the sim isn't connecting to the network. they sent me a new one when I queried it. and now that one's doing the same. I suspect that they're deliberately not allowing it to connect.

It's only for 30 days after all and LIFE Mobile might then pick up new customers on one of their other plans afterwards.
If you failed a credit check for a sim only then sorry to say but you haven't been looking after your credit file properly anyway.
i've just been on live chat with someone else and they've also confirmed the 6 month limit as well. the fact that they're apparently offering the ability to upgrade to a 24 month handset contract after this 6 month period really does scream "marketing exercise" .. this is what she said ..
Me : "i need to check the situation regarding the contract itself - is that price a promotional price ?. there wasn't anything on the site that indicated that it was and the impression it gives is that it's that price going forward and will remain that price for as long as you stay with life mobile."
Conor: "Ok, what happened was that £1.00 contract offer was a error and have been corrected , but Because you have already took out the contract at that price and it has been authorised, we are obliged to give you the contract at that price"
Me: "Wow"
Conor: "Ino:)"
Me: "so it'll definitely remain at £1 a month for as long as i stay with life mobile ? something similar happened a few years ago with my sister and t-mobile and they gave her a "free" sim-only deal but it was only for 1 year in the end"
Conor: "Yes, but you can't change to a different tariff, you would have to stay on that tariff for that price"
I'd still be surprised even with Equifax if there is anything wrong with my credit score... Anyway, I forgot to go through QC/TCB so that would have annoyed me more if they did accept me
Well done to others who managed :sunglasses:
I got confirmation of the order last night. apparently you receive another email once you activate the sim with your online account details. I ordered with quidco as well and it tracked for £12 quid, which was handy!
I'll wait until the SIM arrives and i'll check again when i ring up to activate it. I'm probably going to put it in my mum's tablet for 6 months rather than actually move her phone from virgin.
No, all details were 100% correct. However, come to think of it, I remember the site reporting a error so I had to click back on the browser, re-check details and re-submit. I think I had to do this twice before it accepted. Maybe this is the reason?
Angellina
09:09: Ok the SIM only deals run month-to-month automatically.
Angellina
09:10: However on the £1 tariff you cannot change tariffs.
I'd imagine for most average users, 4000 minutes a month is probably effectively unlimited as it is
2.5.1 Unless We agree otherwise, a new Minimum Term will apply. Once that Minimum Term is over this
Agreement will continue until terminated.
i was right .. here it is ..
as long as they write to you in month 5 informing you of the change in terms of your contract, they can do what they like.
there's a whole set of terms in section 7 as well that cover this, so it's a nice try but it won't get you anywhere
Thank you for choosing LIFE Mobile. We’re pleased to inform you that your
order is now being processed and will be dispatched shortly.
I must admit there was an error first of all where the last digit of my credit card didn't go though so i put the number back in and then it was all fine they did there credit checks and then got the email.

Spoke to Life. Deal is real but only for 6 months & couldn't say how much it will go up to.
Rang Virgin mobile for my PAC code & the woman there says I bet they change it after just 1 month.......
Really worried now as my current Virgin deal is amazing..
Your allowance:Unlimited Mins to 084/087 numbers, Unlimited Mobile Web, Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Minutes
Your tariff price:£6.50
She did just say they have sent me a letter to say my tariffs will be going up £3 a month as they want customers on crazy retention deals to either leave or move onto their current rates but with a £1 discount max only!
Seems as though Virgin has filled their customer numbers & want to get shut of a few who after 8 years have amazing deals.
Looks like Life mobile is doing what Virgin did, get customer on crazy offers, get their numbers up then loose a few through price increases.
This deal will save me £51 over 6 months tho, so top marks for the OP!!!!
i'll wait for the sim to arrive and get back in touch with them to see if there's a more definitive answer.
Also do you have other EE/Orange/T-Mobile Sims? I had issues before when I had 2 T-Mobile Sims already and couldn't get an EE sim. The system said I failed the credit check but couldn't work out why. Eventually found out EE won't let you have more than 2 contracts.
They have already said they will honor it for 6mths what happens after that no one knows so you have six months
and it all depends how much they put it up afterwords if people stay or go.
Also, what was the £5 add-on thing that allows you to cap your usage - is this on by default to or do you have to activate it?
Hoping that I'll be able to PAC my current number over to this when (if) it gets here - no reason why not is there?
just been on live chat, everything is fine for me
just awaiting despatch email according to Live chat
Happy days
ordered last night , got an error message but told order was fine
sent off an email on the contact us option last night to confirm etc
went on live chat this morning got told yes everything is fine
received reply from my email query last night earlier, and the left hand has said no deal
Thanks for getting in touch with us. I'm really sorry you're having problems with your order.
Unfortunately, the £1.00 deal on our web site was placed in error which we have since removed. This is unavailable and we won't be able to offer it to you at this time. For all of the deals available, please follow the following link where you'll also be able to make your order life-mobile.co.uk.
If you have any further questions, just let me know!
Thanks,
Jack
???
wouldn't mind but I cancelled my EE deal this morning and they phoned back earlier to ofer me a cheaper deal to stay
£4.99 for 250 minutes, unlimited texts and 1.5GB quite tempted
they have confirmed the deal will be honoured for 6 months and should be getting a despatch email shortly
Considering I got full marks 999 in Experian credit check and have never had issues with mobile contracts as well as any other financial products. Excuses.
How did t-mobile do it? this was way before they went in with EE.
lifemobile.co.uk/
I'd be curious to see how many contracts were actually entered into though. Thanks OP for posting regardless;
Anyway you have 6mths to find another deal.
I get £12 recurring credit until 2032
I use to pay just £5 but last year I had a price increase of £1.50
This year £3
Problem is, I use 400min max and 1.5gb of data max!
So I really don't use the benefits of Unlimited everything.... but it's nice to know everything is covered
31 May 16 LIFE Mobile 1.00 12.00 Declined
Grrrrrrrr!!!!! :stuck_out_tongue:
Me it will be fine i don't download that much and it will stop me having to keep switching my wifi on and off all the time LOL because that enough data for me.
still not had any emails though
but Live Chat have confirmed everything is sweet
I was going to move to LifeMobile anyway so this deal if only lasts 6 months is still a good saving and an utter bargain and i'll just go on their standard tariff as I was going to anyway.
Sorry just seen opaninkofi post.

Who's Conor?
I think that this information is wrong.
I'm using a LIFE sim in a locked EE iPhone
You sure you phone is locked to EE?
EDIT: Yes the phone is locked to EE and a LIFE sim works fine
which I am still still on for the sixth year !
I thought that my transfer to LIFE was pretty easy with my other one, so those that have asked, it should be.
And as per a convo on here last night, I can confirm that they work in a locked EE phone
Ordered 4GB one.
2 sims turned up this morning and both proper random numbers!
Oh well, for £1 a month who cares really I guess :stuck_out_tongue:
.
Got the 4g sim this morning but not had anymore emails from them like it states on the card the sim came in
said they had setup an account and sent the password to my email address.
anyone got there password for the account yet?
I even got quite a good number.
Just to clarify: You get an order reference email right away (think everybody has that). Then you get an email with details of your "Your LIFE Mobile Order". And finally you get one "Welcome to LIFE Mobile", which contains your login details.
** Forgot to mention, he's even sending me out a replacement sim, as I'd ordered a Nano instead of a Micro in the panic to get on the deal the other night!
Then no point transferring PAC to them. who knows what price it will end up after 6 months?!!
no order confirmation
no welcome email
nothing at all, except 2 sim cards through the door today!
Bought the 1gb package then noticed the 4gb after so got both.
still not got any email what so ever, even though it states on the card T&C's have ben sent via email
also as for not transferring your number over, why not
you can always transfer it back to another provider, I'm about to PAC code over now
Thanks OP
so why not transfer your number over
and it worked straight away
3g also works a treat
still no emails or text messages
now to port number over
Just saying
"Hello, just a quick note to say we're currently busy processing your order however due to the popularity of our *ahem* error, we're taking a little longer than normal. We'll have your SIM activated by the close of business on Monday. Sorry for the delay."
I have a feeling that we will be offered a special deal in November, that isn't one of their "normal" plans. The plans that we have got aren't the same as their "normal" plans already. I can't see them wanting to have 1000 customers ringing up requesting PAC codes during late November. Would be a waste of CS operator time and clog their phone system up.
lifemobile.co.uk/?gc…IoA
The 1Gb isn't a standard tariff as it has 2000 minutes and not 1000.
Just got my *ahem* txt from them. lol
Hello, just a quick note to say we're currently busy processing your order however due to the popularity of our *ahem* error, we're taking a little longer than normal. We'll have your SIM activated by the close of business on Monday. Sorry for the delay.
I had nothing about that the deal will last 6 months only.
Did anyone had email with details how to access the online account?
It looks like your user name is as follows:
First three letters of you surname + year of birth + Month of birth + Day of birth.
eg Smith 7th September 1976 would be smi760709
If you already have an account with them then add a 1 at the end
Password reset, and I'm in. Thanks for the advice on how to get into your account online :sunglasses:
Just tried thats the answer i got also sim is not activated yet cannot make or receive calls or text.
If you want, I will swap my activated 1Gb sim for your 4Gb? (_;)
I wouldn't mind if the price went up to £3 a month, but beyond that and I'd just stick with my legacy 3 sim.
still waiting to use my lovely SIM!!
One other way is to get the Pac code and then use it with-in the 30days that will defiantly finish your contract as soon as the Pac goes over......just do it to a payg sim.
Like i say the contract will finish instant you won't have no worries after that.
I've had my sim in since Friday evening, everything has worked fine calling & 3g data
on Friday it stated EE on my display
today it has changed to Life ??
When I tried my new sim (for another member of my family), it also said EE. I was surprised. It should show LIFE normally. I haven't tried it again, as I am waiting to port a number, but am guessing it would now show LIFE like yours has changed to, if I put it back in.
"The account is stuck in a state of pending which is the transitory period that an account is in whilst moving from one status to another. We advise that an account should be in pending for no longer than 2 hours, but sometimes this is extended and the account gets stuck.14:45:44ShayOnce the 24 hour mark has been reached this will be flagged to our Operations Team, who will then pick up the account and send this across to EE's network engineers.14:45:56ShayThey the have to manually push the account out of pending, but the time it takes to do this can vary depending on the circumstances. As the issue is being investigated by the engineers at EE and not ourselves we are unable to advise an accurate timescale.14:46:02"
I spoke on-line to custom service and he said the account wasn't set-up properly yet so hopefully all be done by tomorrow.
rang CS to port number over (from EE) but to keep my former number before anyone states I don't have to
been very impressed with customer services, English call centre and no long waits, been told it should take no more then 2 days, either by noon tomorrow or definatly by noon on Wednesday
have every intention of staying with Life, although probably at a lower contract once this one is up in 6 months
once again thanks OP
But for £1 a month i'll put up with it and got PAC from Virgin, they made no effort to keep me as a long standing customer apart from offer me lesser packages. They just want everyone off their old VIP contract by the looks of it. Good riddance to them!
Stick that in your pipes and smoke it you pessimistic nay sayers.
Are you sure that it was an email advising you that it was going up, or have you read the Welcome email which states that you plan is £1 for one month, as only being for one month?
As long as its not a life mobile number you are trying to pac...you cannot pac from to life mobile from any other network will be fine.
LIFE: That's was most people was thinking, but this was a system issue but all resolved now.16:01:32
LIFE: The SIM only deals run month-to-month until you decide to change tariff, upgrade or cancel16:02:57
It's a 30 day contract.. Ofcom won't care..
Hope that I am right!!
I really think they would tell you the price first before putting it up just like normal when they put prices up they give you plenty of time or warning.
geeksquad.co.uk/art…ngs
I got the same email as Rimz790 above.
Can you show me where it say you only have the £1 deal for 6mths?
The deal is available for the first six months and you will receive the service as advertised and ordered. During the fifth month of your agreement we will be in touch to advise what tariffs will be available to you once the six months has ended. You will also be able to request an upgrade at this point, subject to the usual terms and conditions regarding upgrades.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Jack
LIFE Mobile Customer Services
Hope this clears everything up now for you all....
If you look back on the thread not sure what page there was a lady i think that said she was still on one from t-mobile and been on it a few years.
Mine only come on yesterday from last week.
having bought an iphone I needed a new sim, this turned into a big mistake which caused me to lose the discounts I had from Tmobile
after a number of calls and visits to the local EE store, eventually I was offered a £3 discount on the new tariff I was put on £9.99, however amazingly after I asked for my PAC code for this deal I was then offered my deal (£6) for £4.99
I told them thanks but no thanks, the guy even asked could I get him one of these sims
why not just keep both for awhile and see how things went thats what i am doing i know it means carrying 2 phones but its only for a little while.
So Sod Tmobile/EE
its Life for me now £1 for 6 months, then I'll go for the £4.95 deal, still cheaper then what EE offered and getting a lot more
I did a ookla speedtest and the max dl speed i got was around 11mbps and 2.8mbps ul speed...
Back again, had to turn mobile data switch on/off again (iPhone settings)
rebooting didn't help
Hello, congratulations on spotting our not-so-deliberate mistake and ordering possibly the best value SIM around! To reward your eagle-eyed savviness, we'll honour the deal for 6 months from your activation date. After this, we'll need to move you to one of our standard tariffs. We'll be in touch with you nearer the time to talk through what we have to offer.
So it's official on the deal. 6 months then move to another tariff.
However, I am waiting for them to actually send out some form of notification of a price increase.
Personally I don't care about the speed improvement of 4G, but the coverage would be a huge boost. If they were to offer Life Mobile 4G but capped speeds as it is the BT/EE budget MVNO, that would make me happy enough, especially if we managed to slip under their radar with this price still.
1500mins
4GB of 4G speed
£12.50
I think I'll wait to see if this offer is going to be cancelled by EE in December or not. If they let the offer slip or advise of a smaller increase I might try to sort out 4G, otherwise I'll leave anyway so hardly worth the effort.
However there was an ongoing problem with switching me to my 4G sim, so I ended up cancelling it. I had gotten one of these £1pm sims a little while before this happened.
:stuck_out_tongue: mines not gone up either :sunglasses:
They just emailed:
In any case, it might be worth pre-registering for their 4GB data, unl mins/texts for £10 month offer, reading it they email an invitation at the end of the month so you won't actually be signing up for it yet, that way if they do cancel our current deal you will have that offer to go to if you want it. plusnetmobile.com/
That's quite a commitment to keep our tariffs going and if they tried to stop them now, I imagine there would be a lot of complaints to the regulator!
I am tempted with the £10 deal however I don't want to swap to that until i've been told what my £1 rolling contract will be changed to. I will call to see what I can find out but I think it needs a lot of us to call so to put pressure on them to come up with an official answer.
4GB+4000 minutes/month for £1 is no brainer
250 minutes
500 texts
1GB data
£5.00 per month
"Hello, congratulations on spotting our not-so-deliberate mistake and ordering possibly the best value SIM around! All jokes aside, this offer has been good while it lasted but what next? I'm after something around the £5 for my Dad. Doesn't need the minutes, just texts and a bit of data. Any ideas?
30 days notice will be plenty of time to sort out something new - till then, just enjoy the ride
More binding would be the emails and texts from plusnet clearly stating the price will not change.
FWIW I didn't get any emails or texts regarding the 6 months, for either of my two sims. I have also been charged £1 for next month, taking me into month 7.
You.Are.Wrong.
Lol I don't what is so difficult to understand [sic]
I hope the deal does get a 7th month i'll find out if i'm billed Tuesday and like i've already said Plusnet are useless so it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they say one thing and do something completely different.
The contract requires them to give us 30 days notice of a change to the tariff. Nothing can change that - if they attempt to give 2 days notice, they dont have a leg to stand on. (Oh dear - I've been hooked :$)
I doubt anyone thinks this deal will continue indefinitely, but we will have 30 days notice from when they decide to terminate us.
Heres my bill showing month 7 charged at £1
The fact people are seeing a 7th month being billed is testament to Plusnet's incompetence as i'd already said was quite possible to come to light having been a customer of theirs for years. If I do get a phone call in the next 2 days I will argue that some customers have already gone into a 7th month and so everyone on the same contract has to be treated the same. That is where they fall down, the sales/technical teams tell you they are doing one thing but their automated systems so something completely different.
"Hello, congratulations on spotting our not-so-deliberate mistake and ordering possibly the best value SIM around! To reward your eagle-eyed savviness, we'll honour the deal for 6 months from your activation date. After this, we'll need to move you to one of our standard tariffs. We'll be in touch with you nearer the time to talk through what we have to offer."
Plus as it turns out the person I spoke to confirmed they are still the same Life Mobile team as we dealt with 6 months ago they just work for Plusnet now so still the same team dealing with the 6 months issue etc.
There's nothing in the "abnormal" part that would allow less than 30 days notice (e.g. we're currently paying for our service and we're not committing fraud or anything like that)
It even says in that message "We'll be in touch with you nearer the time to talk through what we have to offer." In other words, before your offer ends, we'll advise you what we have available to you. If you have to give 30 days notice to cancel, they have to give the same notice by law of any price rises.
Try arguing the points with them not me, the fact they sent that text is giving notice more than 30 days ago they don't have to wait 30 days before hand and by inviting you to take one of the current deals in the next 2 days is contacting you offering a new deal. I don't see any way of successfully arguing your way out of this.
You - judge they haven't given me my 30 days notice to cancel.
The judge - so what was that text notifying you it would end after 6 months?
You - but that's not 30 days notice
The judge - no it was more than 30 days notice telling you your 30 day rolling contract would end after 6 months. There is no case to answer here
You - oh but but...
They wont have it all "in house" yet.
Plusnet will do what they'll do, and we should await their notice of change, if/when it comes. Little point in trying to alter the outcome as we have no control over it and this stirring of the pot can only be to our disadvantage. If you choose to challenge their fiat then the most you might win is a few quid in a pyrrhic victory.
I hope Plusnet do screw up and allow it to go on longer for all of us as the longer we keep the £1 deal the better. However if they do terminate it now no one can complain as the 6 months has passed.
we'll honour the deal for 6 months from your activation date.
To be a formal notice they have to say exactly what will happen at the end of the six months, now as I see it there are three options:
PlusNet - not our fault
The judge - PlusNet did not serve a full formal notice and therefore they are in breach of contract, I rule that the claimant pay £1 in full and final settlement of their final months bill. NEXT!
You are in a minority of 1 who thinks that their original message constitutes a legally binding formal notice. It doesn't as it was incomplete. As stated before by your logic they can put your bill up to £200 for December without giving any further notice and you have no choice but to pay.
Dated 3rd June
Hello, just a quick note to say we're currently busy processing your order however due to the popularity of our *ahem* error, we're taking a little longer than normal. We'll have your SIM activated by the close of business on Monday. Sorry for the delay.
My next bill is due to be generated on the 7th and I suspect it will for £1 as I've had no contact or notice re any change/cancellation whatsoever. I have only ever heard about a "6 month honour" on this thread. If they contact me to make a change then so be it, I'm not under the illusion this will go on forever, but they will have to give me 30 days formal notice. Simples.
Under their terms:
7.1.3 We can suspend, change or withdraw Your Price Plan, Price Plan Services or Additional Commitment Service.
Surprise surprise, I just had a text from PlusNet:
"Hello, just a note to let you know your Plusnet Mobile Direct Debit for £1.00 will be taken on 21-12-2016."
Just checked my online account and looks like they have taken seven lots of £1 :smiley_cat:
They'll be a lot of unhappy people on here if you do and the deal is ceased as a result...
On a serious note, I've cut down loads of sims in the past, plenty of guides on YouTube too. They're not all that. Also, I'm pretty sure all "those" phone shops in town clone/copy sims don't they? I stand to be corrected
Starting to wish I'd ported my number over now but I darent call them up and port it across in case they cancel the contact!!
Just had this email about the contract  Has to be the best £1 deal ever!
Wonder if we'll make the year mark? Don't see why not...
Fantastic though, well done PlusNet...
On a serious note, over a year of this, this was a great bargain. I am still disappointed with the 3G coverage but we can't have everything unfortunately.
The deal that keeps on giving...
If I thought that the deal was for real and would last this long, I would have got a second one for myself for when my contract ended this time last year. I perhaps should have gone for the £1 4Gb plan which was still going strong in January!!
I contacted them and it's been over a week and the new sim hasn't turned up. they said they'll send me a new one again. I think they want me to just give up and save myself £1 a month.
will I heck.
