Possible £10 cashback via Quidco/TCB too.

Confirmed via email that it's essentially £11.99/month after redemption (thought that £19.99 may have been factoring in the cashback).

Tethering allowed.

Called and asked for my PAC code, got put through to retentions
The tariff is 12gb, which is why EU roaming is the full 12gb, but as an offer the deal comes with an extra 3gb UK data add on
simonprr
25 Apr 17 #1347
Yeah that would be useful for me too. Odd that random amount of it is roaming not all of it.

Did you just call them and choose option for retentions?
destix
25 Apr 17 #1346
It's EE max, so full speed, faster than this tarriff
They had no tariffs that interested me initially, I asked the girl in retentions to email me when she had something better, and she did two days later.
I really wanted high EU data allowance.

Yeah so that's just the usual yearly increase they emailed about a few weeks back.

Very nice.

Did your account show that 2 of those discounts were going to expire? mine and some people's show that 2 of 4 I think it is expire mid April... so I'm wondering if my bill is going to be 19.99 + the yearly increase

The Virgin Mobile deal is no longer available. EE were price matching that deal which is why the 20GB for £15 was available but is no longer. Other than deals with redemption, £19.99 is looking like the best you will get if you need this much data now, that is why I jumped on EE as soon as I hit the upgrade date

I signed upto the EE deal with the £100 Anson vouchers last week and I just got my first paper bill. Seems like there's several discounts applied, and it states "Monthly Charge Total £4.16". The discounts are broken down on the paper bill but not on the EE my account website.
"Loyalty discount from your monthly line rental" £12.50
"£10 Plan Discount" £8.33
"£5 Plan Discount" £4.17

It's originally a £34.99 plan I should be paying £19.99 for. Am I just lucky like some of you guys, or this just for the first bill? SM I likely to get a corrected bill later on, will they devout my account for the total at the end of my contact/when they realise the cock up?
destix
20 Mar 17 #1328
I think they base the rise on the full £34.99 price so 87p

19 Mar 17 #1327
Strange you were told that, I have been told by 2 different EE customer service reps (I have the transcripts), that as long as I stay with EE then whatever I have been paying these past 12 months will stay the same.
It will go up slightly as per the RPI letter 2.5% increase per month, which works out at an extra 37p p/m.
I will wait and see what I am charged for the 13th month bill, if its the same as previous 12 months then happy days, if not then I will question it and perhaps come to a deal with EE.
I have been told my contract will not change and have had no email or letter saying my contract/discounts will end.
Cheers.

16 Mar 17 #1322
Can someone explain how to terminate the contract with EE?
My contract is ending on the 13th of April and the 12th (and last I hope) bill has been released and scheduled to be paid.
So I guess I can leave whenever I want before the 13th of April?
I have also submitted the cashback form and it has been scheduled to be paid.

Is everything I need to do call EE to ask for PAC and transfer out before the 13th of April?

think we should wait and see, in the app my loyalty discounts don't have an end date, if yours does then it will end when it says it will, if not it should just roll over and the less people make them aware the less likely we are to have the plan "revised for our benefit". one month is hardly alot to pay if we wait and see only to find it is taken off for the 12 months we had it on easy street lol if it continues, awesome
kieran77777
13 Mar 17 #1316
I think i will be contacting them to enquire about the end dates on 2 of my loyalty discounts to ensure my bill doesnt go up to £20 next month

12 Mar 17 #1315
I think so, Im just leaving mine and I'll see what the bill is next month.
someone reported earlier on this thread that they phoned up and they were told their discounts would still apply after the 12 months are up.
Im sure the app would say if the discounts were finishing.
Anyway, this deal has actually cost EE about £20 odd quid by the time we get the last of our cashback back.
Not bad and £4.99 going forward for 16Gb is great!

Well final cashback claimed today and approved. Interesting to see that the £19.99 is continuing for many. I only use around 1-2gb now due to finally getting decent broadband at home so do I continue happily paying what I am plus some minor increases or try to reduce the outgoings. Something new has appeared on my EE app. It is showing 4 discounts, two with an expiry date of 7th Apr (when contract runs out) and two without an expiry, suggests to me that my bill is going to go back up to £19.99 from May.

Personally I hardly use more than 3-4gb per month and usually less than 10 SMS and 40 minutes...
I will probably ask to leave.

Hopefully there will be a good offer to go to, like ~5gb and 250 mins and text. Ideally with EU roaming and around £7pm.

26 Feb 17 #1305
well... err...
they might increase prices..but it will be a while (hopefully) before it reaches a point where I need to move.
unless a trend change, i.e. we all use data more in general than mins and txt. so plans are more or less determined by the amount of data included.

who knows and i'm no crystal ball, the next change could be 4.5g / 5g. A bit like when we moved from 3G to 4G.
premium for 5G connection and 4G becomes cheap.

My renewal date is Tuesday but just spoke on livechat and they confirmed that the deal you are on, including loyalty discounts, stays in place on a rolling monthly contract if you just don't do anything about changing or upgrading.

The chat person said that they couldn't do better than what I was paying now and that I would lose the discount if I switched plan.

As long as the plan exists and they keep my loyalty discounts I will be staying put forever!

Worst case is they scrap the tariff and discounts go with it. But then I'm not tied in for more than a month anyway. Perfect. Best deal ever from HUKD!

Thats an interesting deal, however, as I mentioned in my earlier post, EE have told me that from the 13th month the deal wont revert to £34.99 but will stay as it has been for the previous months.
I will stay with EE as I get 26GB per month because I get a 10GB boost due to also having EE broadband.
Good luck people.

Just to let you all know. I called today as I entered the 45 day window where you can upgrade with EE. I asked for my PAC number. The guy asked why and I said there were some good deals around and I wanted to have the flexibility to move early if I spotted something. He said they could price match so I specifically mentioned the Virgin 20GB £15 deal and he did 20GB with unlimited/unlimited for £14.99 immediately. The deal is 20GB for £34.99 with a £20 discount applied to each bill.

nublets2k
19 Feb 17 1 #1294
People have been getting 20-25GB with 15Gb roaming for £15 from EE retentions so that's probably a good place to start. Probably worth mentioning Virgin media's £15 deal to get them to match.

My OH is on 3, feel at home's data is much slower than EE when roaming. Barely even worth it.
peridot
19 Feb 17 #1293
So what is anyone else looking at when this expires?

On the assumption that I'll be paying £19.99 to keep it, I'm thinking the 12GB, unlimited calls/texts with Three looks good at £15 pm through mobile phones direct. The Feel at Home on Three would be far more valuable to me that the extra 4GB data.

Any better options you clever folk have spotted?

I will not be paying the £34.99, I will be paying the reduced monthly amount as per my loyalty discount plan from month 13 onwards so I will stay with EE.
If you have a 'double discount' then I guess that is what you will continue to pay from 13th month onwards.
stu76
10 Feb 17 #1283
Apologies if it is obvious but...

Are you not paying 34.99 because you are cancelling?
Or do you get to keep the loyalty discounts so will be paying less than £34.99 and staying with EE?

I'm in the double discount plan so hope it's the latter
MINANTRA

had a live chat with EE, was told whatever you pay for your monthly EE SIM only plan (which includes the loyalty discount plan) is what you will continue to pay after the years contract has ended, no change, so I will not be paying £34.99 (in my case) from 13th May onwards. Hope that helps people :-)

Before travelling, you need to text EURODATA to 150 to enable this and it then activates each day you use roaming data. Data switches off automatically if you exceed 500 MB.

I submitted my bill for cashback despite getting double discount (bills are 4.99) if this works out for me my 12 months contract will work out to be -£36 , meaning I will be £36 in profit ! lol
mynameisthehulk
26 Jul 16 3 #1210
No

It works thus

£19.99 x 12 = £239.88
£19.20 x 5 = £96
£239.88 - £96 = £143.88
£143.88/12 = £11.99

This analysis was bought to you by the numbers 1, 9 and, 3 and the letter M

I just got the same email - but I'm confused - shouldn't it be more than £19.20? If there's 4 months submitted at this point shouldn't it be 4 x £8 (the diff between £19.99 and £11.99?) = £32?

Decided to submit cashback despite billing errors. The July bill happened to be £13 because I phoned the RAC in France (wrong number stored in my phone) when I broke down in the UK. Here's hoping they don't notice the -£25 discount that is applied to the line.

Update - that was quick. Already received email that cashback has been approved and will be with me in 14 days. The process must be automated so I'd be amazed if a real person ever checks the amount on the bill.

Why should they. MPD don't care what or how much you pay EE. They just need to make sure you're still paying bills (regardless of value) to ensure they get their commission which they pass some of back to us in the form of cashback.

simonprr
6 Jul 16 1 #1165
yeah exactly. it's their fault at the end of the day and there is the direct debit guarantee too so I'd be straight on the phone to them if they did or my bank if they argue it.

when I called them to add the discount in the first month they did it immediately barely asked any questions.

best mobile deal EVER! not to mention it's way faster and usually better signal than o2 was for me
ndksamb
6 Jul 16 #1164
Doubt it, pretty sure they can't just help themselves to your bank account and as they have applied a discount to your price plan they can't then decide to take it back when it suits them. I'd say the most they could do is take away the extra discount
a3lawy
24 Jun 16 #1161
Are you all fairly confident that EE won't demand the rest of the balance later on? We did sign a £239.88 contract. I expect we will end up paying that total by end of the contract. The cash back is a bonus by MPD as third party, nothing to do with EE.
simonprr to a3lawy
24 Jun 16 #1162
I guess it's possible but it's their mistake with their systems. So if they do I'd argue that with them then.

if I submit a bill with credit on it that's too low I'm sure mpd won't pay the cashback will they?
888eyeball to a3lawy
6 Jul 16 #1163
They will just take what they are owed using the direct debit, when they notice their mistake.

I assume I could skip claiming the 4th month but claim in month 6th etc etc?
simonprr

I'm not going to risk it as it's better than the cashback deal and the next bill would still show the credit even if it's right!
simonprr
23 Jun 16 #1156
I've only been charged about £5 this month but was in credit of £20 odd so still in credit!

I don't understand it really... is it because we called ee got the discount added manually but then it got added automatically so getting 2 lots of £15 off so ends up being £5??

I guess it's a good idea not to claim the cashback then!

if / when ee realise I assume they couldn't demand it back or add a larger bill as it's their mistake?
sethcathison to simonprr

23 Jun 16 #1157
Yeh I was getting the exact same problem as you. It took EE around 3 weeks to resolve the issue for me. Get them to remove the Underground Wifi service from your account and to re-add it 24 hours later. Almost straight away you'll get a text with you password. You wont need to send a text to get it.

Then once you are at a tube station login to the Virgin Wifi page using your phone number as the username and the password from the text as the password. You wont need to do it again.

Just checked back for the details on cashback months and noticed all the bill issues. hadn't looked at mine so thought I'd check...

Month 1 - 15th April - £19.99
Month 2 - 15th May - £4.99 (inc.a -£25 before VAT loyaltly discount???)
Month 3 - 15th June - £6.24 at the moment according to the app, and looks like it'll be £4.99 plus some extra call charges (which seem entirely random - same local Irish number on holiday, some charged, some free!)

Not planning to call anyone in case the -£25 before VAT discount gets applied every month!!

Will probably not bother claiming cashback if they keep the bills this low, wouldn't want to alert MPD by sending them such small bills!

Good luck to everyone chasing the correct bill.

I ordered 2 x EE sim cards from MPD on this deal.
EE put both on the same account as can only have one registered per name/address.
April bill was £34.99.
May bill was £70!...
Called them up and said when ported numbers over, the £15 discount wasn't applied correctly.
They're going to refund £45 into bank account and future bills will be £19.99 + £19.99.
No mention of second line discount on bills nor on account. £19.99 each so hopefully cashback will be fine.

This included £2.92 for "Separate Payment Handling Charge for Non-DD/BACS" which - after speaking to EE earlier - will be removed from the bill.

The difference between the rest (£7.92) and the £4.99 - £2.93 I was told is because of the difference between the dates of the bills (which I didn't understand at all and will talk about to someone on the online chat I think)

Steve: Which would make it £4.99

EE: For next month onwards, you'll be charged as per price plan i.e £19.99
Steve: I'm sorry EE, but I believe that to be wrong. Irrespective of when the loyalty discount was applied, my contract was £19.99 a month. In the first month I paid £34.99. The price for 2 months contract at £19.99 would be £39.98. there fore £39.98 -- £34.99 is £4.99.
EE: I do understand your point
EE: Can you please confirm where did you take out your contract?
Steve: MPD
Steve: Mobile Phones Direct
EE: In that case, I'd suggest you to get in touch with them and they'll check what best can be done for you
EE: Be assured
EE: As we're from billing support team and can only explain to our customer's
EE: We're not allowed to make any changes to existing contract

EE: But we can only explain the bill to our customer

Has anyone else ordered 2 x EE sim cards from MPD and had them combined onto the same bill by EE but with a 10% second line discount applied automatically? According to MPD this will prevent me from claiming cashback. They told me to call EE and make sure both lines are charged at £19.99 and have the discount removed, which I have done, so fingers crossed next months 3rd bill is correct.

I contacted EE again as 'My EE' doesn't show any sign of a discount being applied. I was told this time that I had a special deal and that there was a discount showing on my account but as that had been applied by an individual it wouldn't show at my end. I also asked about £15 being refunded as I paid £35 last month and they couldn't say how that would be applied to my account as the bill hadn't been generated yet. HI,

We have sent the below email to all of the customer’s that have placed an order for the EE SIMO £19.99 promo, I will continue to send this email to all new orders on a daily basis.

If you receive a call from a customer please advice…

1. The first bill may be charged at the full price of £34.99, there is no need to panic, this will be rectified promptly by EE.
2. The customer will need to pay the full amount displayed on the first bill, however, they will get the additional monies back.

My EE account online still shows at £34.99 payment received for last month (on payment history it says otherwise), guess the loyalty kicks in next month.

OK all I can say is you have to be persistent, just got off the phone from EE, worried about old number not porting over (3rd attempt) last Day today! Anyway that will be sorted got a very helpful CS rep, I also enquired about the £34.99 situation again, this time he assured me I would be getting the £15 discount applied on next bill, improvement over last time were I was told I would have to cancel contract and open new account to get the discount direct. All good so far, but I enquired about this months £34.99 which he confirmed I would be charged, I explained about the deal and he went away to see if he could apply discount to this month, few minutes later he confirmed he could knock £15 off for this month also. Just checked my EE App and it says £19.99 due (read £34.99 previously) so looks like it is confirmed. All those holding out for a £4.99 bill next month wouldn't like to take a gamble on it sure you will have to call both EE and MPD to sort out all over again.

Kiwimaddog
18 Apr 16 1 #1050
Oh man why did I sign up with EE again! There is no reason the first bill should be £34.99 other than making a mug of the customer and improving their cash flow to our detriment.

I remember the pain I had when I ordered one of the 100GB data sims from them - no-one seemed to have heard of it in their CS department and they kept insisting I should re-order, when their form would only allow one order per household. Numerous calls later and many different reps, the only resolution was the sim finally being delivered - no idea why it was delayed, and the messages from EE CS were along the lines of "order again", "the order hasn't gone through", "100GB sim, what on earth is that?!"

Useless company. Rant over haha!

Oh, I did add heat to this deal btw, so conflicted as this is a good deal

Dunno why everyone having so many probs, all worked fine for me I just asked for the discount to be applied to my account and it was done. However, for all those that were charged £34.99 for the first bill the second will be £4.99.
kingkev1000
18 Apr 16 1 #1049
ok this is what they have said:

Please allow till the second bill cycle to assure that the discount hasn't been applied for the reason being that EE are struggling to apply the the discount in the first instances as explained with the email I sent you prior to this email informing you of what's happening with your deal if your second bill isn't either £4.99 or £19.99 please contact us immediately and we will raise this with EE's account manager to assure the discount is applied and the extra cost of £15 is refunded to your bank account within 28-30 days

So I am cancelling I can't wait for two months then argue the toss after the 14 day period is over.

still nowt from MPD other than their management team have been in meetings all day and not sorted out the discount - EE have confirmed they will honour the discount - if I take out a new contract with them thus making the cashback redundant. Just looked at my banking and it also showed a £34.99 charge for this first month, so I rang EE as I wanted to double check I was getting the £15 discount per month, going forward.

They confirmed this would be the case (that it would be £19.99 per month going forward) - and the guy even credited my account by £15 to acknowledge the overcharge this month. So my next bill will actually be £4.99.

So It might be worth ringing EE for those who have been charged £34.99 - I was straight through to them.

I contacted EE as my bill was showing £34.99 and they said that I am on the £34.99 plan but they would add the discounts on for me
I told them not to do it just yet in case it messed up getting the cash back and I wanted to contact MPD first

I told MPD how there's no discount on EE's system yet and how there's also nothing on their system about being credited for the first month

MPD said 'This is because when you contact the network you go through to their customer services who can not access business information ( we go through as a business) so they would not be able to see this'

now I'm worried I'm gonna be charged the full £34.99 for the 12months and not get any cash back either

Think there could be a problem with orders made yesterday, but dispatched today. The offer email I got when ordering on 14th said £19.99 mth. They then connected and dispatched this on the 15th, which was after the offer ended on the EE website. The dispatch email said £34.99 a month! I rang and they said they would email confirming the deal but that was three hours ago and no email. WIll get the SIM and ring EE but suspect there could be a problem.

MPD so he told me dont worry the next month bill will be 4.99 so basically 34.99 + 4.99 = 39.98 which is 19.99 a month for each
sethcathison

alikcan
15 Apr 16 3 #1004
Let me simplify for you all confused ones:
First month bill will be : £34.99
Second month will be : £4.99
And then from third month all bills will be £19.99

£19.99 * the months (12) = £239.88p
Now subtract the cashback which is £96
£239.88-£96 = £143.88 this is your 1 year money
To work out the monthly now divide that by the months (12)

£143.88 / 12 = £11.99 per month

So relax back and wait for your cashback months

Mpd gave me a reference number to give to ee.
The first person at ee couldn't get anywhere with it, ended up putting me through to an automated message that ended the call. The second person at ee said to go to mpd, I told them they sent me to ee with a reference number. He ran my address and details and then saw my order was accepted and pending due to the reasons I mentioned earlier. I'd keep pushing ee to run your details.

I'm in the a similar boat, EE declined me and still awaiting a response from them as to the reason (I have an Experian credit rating of 998 after being concerned this was the issue), now getting the run around, MPD say speak to EE, tweeted EE as no response from their credit department since Saturday they are telling me to contact MPD as they do the check!!! My PAC code runs out with 3 on the 23rd April too.

Still don't get it  They should just make the contract price the reduced rate. That way if people cancel, then it's usual t&c's of any contract. If you're happy with the way this works and accept the risk, then that's your deal. I'm talking from past experience and will never support these types of 'redemption' contracts. Just make sure you're happy with the full price as the redemption, as always, is not guaranteed.
K0YS
15 Apr 16 #988
Exactly my thoughts. If you don't have 35£ in your account, use a cans and string.
Ive been keeping an eye on this thread and skimming through the other 2 similar deals, there are people going for this deal without fully knowing what the redemption involves. I've read comments assuming the cash back is from tcb and quidco!

I got rejected going through the mpd. I called ee and they said it's because they needed a 100£ deposit which mpd would need to pay as they are ordering on my part. Mpd won't do it so they cancel the order. Ee said if I go direct, then they can take it from me but obviously I won't qualify for cashback.
Ive never been declined any credit before, however I moved out a year ago so I'm assuming that why they need a deposit.

I don't have an "attitude". They advertised a deal with cashback via redemption and I bought it. They could pay out £96 cashback upfront, then just under 2 weeks later people cancel their contract. It's done this way for a reason.

Actually I too think its cold and would never go for one. The reason is because redemption always has some catch that means a particular percentage of people end up not getting it. If companies want to discount products or services, they should do just that. Redemption is essentially gambling by the company as not everyone will end up getting it, and they will benefit from this. I'd much rather deal with open, honest companies than sneaky pricing and paperwork.

I had to go the EE shop because I had stupidly ordered a micro sim and not a mini sim (and a 2 in 1 sim was delivered instead of a 3 in 1)

Anyways. The guy that sorted it for me noticed my bill had gone thru at £35 (without me even mentioning it) and notified me that the first bill gets generated at midnight on start day of contract, and therefore they don't get chance to manually apply the credit for the bill as its a new promotion, but it will get reconciled on the second bill (or a story to that effect)

Genuinely understand those without the money in the bank account being upset and angry as this could create awkward situations for them

Worth noting tho that for those people who have got the cash then don't worry, it will get sorted

Hope that's of use

Just got off the phone with them. As expected yes the offer isn't available to PAYG members so you need to be a contract member already. I asked if I could cancel it as I'd like to get the cashback from the offer.

She asked what was it? So I told her it was topcashback around £47-£50. So she said let me check and see if we can match it. Was put on hold and a minute later she rang back and told me they'd match it so I've been able to get it for £16.49 and no waiting for cashback etc and they then fast tracked the order as there's a backlog from all the online orders. Mine worked at £15.99, did the same TCB £47 cashback bringing it to £12.05 without any of the MPD cashback hassle which is great. The cashback has tracked too.

But I haven't had any email to say it worked. Concerned as tommorow is the last day.

If it works though I should also get first 3 months 50%.

Hi Well I applied the corporate code direct on EE site which makes price 15.99. i.e. 15.99 *12= 191.88£ less TCB discount of 47.25£=144.63£ make price 12.05£

So i am satisfied as purchased direct from EE to avoid any later issues.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your recent order with Mobile Phones Direct.

To confirm your package details are outlined below whereby your line rental from EE is chargeable at £19.99 monthly. Additionally your package includes £96 Cashback by redemption from Mobile Phones Direct, information on how to claim is also included below.

Please be advised that this is a promotional tariff from EE which is normally chargeable at the higher rate of £34.99 a month. In order to benefit from this tariff at the advertised rate of £19.99, EE will be automatically applying a discount to your bill to reduce the monthly line rental to the advertised rate.

Although EE will make every effort to apply this discount promptly, your first bill may show a monthly line rental at the undiscounted of £34.99. Please do not worry though, as EE will quickly rectify this from the second bill onward applying a discount to reduce the line rental to the advertised £19.99 a month. This will of course retrospectively cover the first month as well.

Please note that you cannot claim a cash back if you have cancelled your order, disconnected the SIM card from the network, or you have changed your price plan with us, or with the network. The mobile bill you provide to us to at the point of your claim must be in relation to the mobile number we connected or upgraded. If you ported a different number to your new contract, the bills then need to show the number you have ported to.

I'm inclined to ride it out and let everything that MPD ask and promise happen.

Having such a mare! Ordered with mobiles.co.uk but then cancelled less than 24 hours later as they don't do Double Speed 4G, so placed another order with MPD. That got cancelled by EE. When I called up EE, they said the order I placed with mobiles.co.uk went through to them. So I called back m.co.uk and they said it takes 3-5 working days for the cancellation to be processed by EE. So now I have to hope that the cancellation takes 3 working days and goes through tomorrow otherwise I'll miss out on the deal as it expires after tomorrow :disappointed:

Had the very same issue. Gave EE my PAC on Thursday midday, Friday came and my Three sim still had full service. Called EE porting team Saturday morning, to find out they only work Monday to Friday.

Finally today after contacting both networks again, my Three sim lost signal and everything on the EE is working perfectly.

EE did mention however for iPhone users, you have to change your number manually in the settings menu.

I phoned EE directly today (I am a current customer), told them about the deal, the chap was able to offer me 19.99 but couldn't do anything regarding the cash back (as expected) so I asked for a PAC code and was going to get this deal. However got a call back from the very nice chap to say he's spoken to his manager and the deal is currently on the website for 16.49 a month....well for to added comfort of not having to remember to do the cash back claim (and get the EE extra) I went for it. To add some context I was a customer of T-mobile - was on the 7.50 a month deal from this website 500mins, unlimited text and 3gb (unlimited when initially got the contract) 3g....

Finally received my SIM today from MPD. It was sent RM 1st class on 6th April!!!!

Anyway some of chat transcritp:
info: Welcome to EE. A Customer Services Adviser will be with you shortly.
info: You are now connected with N

me: Hi, can you double check my plan pls. I took it on offer of £19.99 but bills showing full amount
N: There's an offer going on where we're offering a tariff £34.99 with £15 discount on this, so you pay £19.99 per month. The discounts doesn't show on your account, but we can check this and confirm for you.
N: I've checked and this is the case, you've got the tariff for £34.99 and got discount on the top of it. You've got two discounts £9 and £6 till your contract's end date.
N: So I assure you that you'll pay £19.99 per month for your account.
Me: But the first bill amount is for £34.99?
N: the discounts got applied from ***** on your account and there's no end date for this discount.
So you can keep it on your account, as long as you want.Once you upgrade or make any changes, then only it'll be removed
.

N: I see that your bill was generated on 07th, so you got charged as per the standard line rental cost.
the discount has been applied from ***** and this can be shown only on your bills. So previous bill has been generated and the changes can't be made on bill. But you'll see the actual discounts from next bills.

Edit: Forgot to add, I registered account(MyEE) before starting chat. Never had to mention MPD.

Similar here, phoned CS yesterday about porting my number and the operator also sorted my bill out by reducing the £34.99 to £19.99. I was even sent a text confirming the adding of £15 loyalty to my account. Logged in today to see if discount was showing but it still shows £34.99, I think I have read somewhere in this thread that it takes 24-48 hours to appear on your account.
Was also told my first bill would be £19.99 but I guess I will have to wait and see if that really happens on my payment date of the 19th.

Just spoke to someone at EE regarding the porting issue with Three. It has been referred to EE's porting department and should take 72 hours to resolve. As others are experiencing, the number has been transferred but has not left Three's routing.

I cant register on EE website to check if the £15 loyalty discount has been applied, or fill in the port my number form as I obviously dont have the sim card yet.
It will be sent 1st class (approx 2 days) so I will report back then, but was told by MPD the contract starts as soon as sim card is sent out and not once you insert it into your phone and activate it.
Lets see what happens in a couple days.

When you want to leave contract at the end of 12 months, do you have to tell them a month in advance? Will this affect the month 12 cashback?

On the website it says "Cashback will become void for customers who disconnect from the network prior to their payment being made". So do I have to cancel after getting the cashback for month 12?

I am sorry if its been asked before in this thread. I had a quick look and could not find related question.

11 Apr 16 #838
on the first bill mater I believe it's due to the tarif being a standard £34.99. if you buy from EE they switch your tarrif to a 12month discounted one to achieve the £19.99. but mpd have to activate the contract and send you the sim (at basic pricing £34.99) EE look to generate your first bill within 14 days and by the time EE are told to move you to the 12 month discounted tariff, the first Payment is already in progress.

seems like it's caused simply by admin delays but ultimately still lies with EE to amend the pricing when they are told to, from a customer though they have no evidence that you should be on £19.99 without sight of your documents. I would have thought EE staff would have been better briefed on this deal and how it would work with third party retailers but hey ho

in that case if it was me I would probably take the £15.99 tbh but depends if you can be bothered claiming the cash back, I would rather not do the CB but want to have it closer to £15pm. I don't know if through corporate you would qualify got quidco or topcashback on a sim only? worth having a look but as I say depends on if you feel the extra each month is fine and you can be bothered to claim CB or just want a lower monthly payment for 12months

Thank you for explaining what you have learned. I too have thought the process works differently from many years ago when I last used a third party to set up a contract. My frustration today has come from talking to EE only to be repeatedly told that the 'paperwork' they have from mobilephonesdirect does not specify any discount for me. They were happy to apply a £15 discount from this point on, as they said effectively a contract direct from them would offer this. However, the first bill would be £34.99 and they cannot adjust this. When I asked about a doubling up of the discount for month 2 as others have reported on here, they denied it was possible for them to do this, and I need to contact my 3rd party. Apparently mobilephonesdirect are responsible for giving me the £15 refund for the first month, even though the only payments I make go direct to EE?! This was after a webchat 2 days ago when an EE advisor told me very clearly I would only pay £19.99 per month for the 12 months, but the discount would take 24-48 hours to show up.

On discussing with mobilephonesdirect, they said it would all be sorted out through EE, although apparently there is a delay in EE being aware of this. I have never had the email from them that some have, describing how the £34.99 would be 'made up' by an extra discount in month 2.

In the end, after an 80 minute webchat with EE, only requesting that my PAC transfer be cancelled seemed to prompt the manager to 'make an exception' and give me a £15 credit for being overcharged this month.

I don't know who is in the wrong here, but between them mobilephonesdirect and EE have managed to miscommunicate and cause undue aggravation. £15 isn't much money, but it is the principle which was at stake here.

Hi everyone

I finally received PAC code from three and thinking to buy this deal of EE. What you guys recommend . A purchase direct from EE or should i go via MPD.

Please recommend on the basis of Cashback assurance and 19.99 Price not the 34.99 one.

11 Apr 16 #830
if you consider the EE direct deal is £19.99 plus cash back through quidco or tcb.

this deal is £19.99 with higher cash back.

either way you will pay £19.99 so this has higher cash back therefore worth a punt over anything else on offer just now.

either way you pay £19.99 so even if the cash back doesn't pay out from mpd your still only going to pay £19.99 no great loss

£34.99 with £10 + £5 loyalty discount bringing down to £19.99
I eventually got this sorted on the phone direct with EE. As has been said before, you will need to email your MPD receipt to the customer service person on the end on the phone, who will then pass on a to a supervisor, who in turn adds the combined £15 loyalty discount to your bill, bring it down to £19.99.
I was told the contract from MPD does not allow EE to adjust the amount charged, so the £19.99 can only be honoured with the loyalty discount.

MPD may have another means to lower the contract price, they also say that first bill will always be £34.99 then the discount backed dated on the second bill. If you are prepared to wait for this so be it, otherwise 10 minutes of the phone with EE will give you peace of mind. MPD are probably advertising falsely the price is £19.99 for 12 months, it may well work out at that eventually but they need to state this is black and white to put everyone's mind at rest IMO.

Right... so from what I can tell from this thread, this offer from MPD will have the double speed 4G, and Mobiles.co.uk won't? Not sure what the EU thing is as I'm pretty sure that isn't free anyway?

Think I will just go for this offer and see how it goes.

Anyone concerned about the £34.99, I think people are contacting EE directly so that the first month gets discounted (saves yourself £15 if this is possible anyway)

Baffled by this thread. If the offer is new how can people be contacting ee about bill when it says potentially £34.99 first month. Surely you chase it after the second bill if it's not been credited back?
Kenneth131 to eagleian
11 Apr 16 #822
i think because no one wants to pay £34.99 and chase a refund when others pay £19.99. I'm assuming the usual 14 days after activation for your first bill applies here so depends if they are quick enough to select your tariff as the discounted £19.99 deal before the first DD is requested
Sanzai
11 Apr 16 #816
I would be cautious about this deal, as EE do indeed seem quite inconsistent about their handling of this 'first bill' charge of £34.99. I have been advised one thing 2 days ago, and now they are backtracking and saying that instead it should be dealt with by mobilephonesdirect

How have people managed to sort this out?
Kenneth131 to Sanzai
11 Apr 16 4 #819
Well here is my update to put peoples mind at rest. I posted yesterday about my reservations about this based on previous experience of using P4U when they were operational. Back then you took out a phone contract with them and they could also administer your account so they collected the money on behalf of the network and paid the network, a but like one person bulk buying and sharing the savings to customers but they pay the bill. sort of.

I have spoken with MPD and the first time dealing with them today, they seemed really professional and courteous etc but they confirmed what I believed happens now,

Resellers offer packages based on that provided by the networks. So EE have a £19.99 deal, so do all the resellers.
Resellers get commission from each sale from the network.
You get a sim card as if you picked it up from the EE store, argos, poundland etc, no difference.
You activate your sim and its on the £34.99 price plan but discounted to £19.99 by EE. Its their price plan.
Your contract is with EE, the Direct debit with EE, and monthly bills from EE

Mobile phones direct are simply offering to share some of that commission they earn with you. They have no sight of your account with EE, have no tie in with the networks to administer your account. They are by all accounts another mobile phone version of quidco. You get the sim and they share the commission which to you is "cashback" hence why they ask for you to send copies of your phone bill since they cannot check with EE if you still have the contract or are paying it.

So any billing or contract related issues must go to EE.

I would assume that if you call EE and have a query and simply do not mention that it was bought through MPD they would be none the wiser.

I have not had the bill yet only recieved the sim sat,but I did get the discount added on, i took an ee contract 3 weeks ago(the £14.99 one with amazon voucher) i then saw this and got it for my wife, when sim arrived i tried setting up the account online not realising they had put both numbers on same account, so I went on live chat to ask them about it and mentioned the discount and they applied straight away.

I received my paper bill from EE requesting to set up DD and pay 34.99 for the first month. So, I rang 150 and queried the bill amount as it doesn't reflect the loyalty (15 off). They said ok, and I made the first payment of £19.99 (via card) for the first month. Easy stuff, less than 5 mins.

Why is everyone panicing?
Got a very clear email, stating that the first bill will show £34.99, and be reduced in the second month, and retrospectively discounted.
If that doesn't happen, the contract is breached, and I'll cancel

And the furore over international roaming too, you have to pay £2 a day extra for that, some people appear to think it's free, of course they will include it?
cheekyfrazzleboi to Coney

Exactly, nowhere in the deal did it mention roaming... I posted waaaay back the discussion between myself and EE who clearly outlined the deal benefits and roaming wasn't mentioned... some peeps just want blood lol

No, it's £2 a day for EU calls and texts on a standard EE plan, and £4 a day if you include 50mb of data.
If you have a EE Extra plan, then EU calls and texts are already included, and data is £3 a day for 50mb

I don't get why people keep stating 'roaming' isn't included.
Both of my EE accounts that were activated Saturday clearly state that unlimited calls and texts are available whilst in the EU are included on EE's own 'my account' portal.

People who are saying they are not included when purchased via MPD are not looking at all the information available to them on the portal, simple as that.

For clarity - Unlimited EU calls & SMS are included - just visit the your usage section of your online my EE account, or heaven forbid read the T&C's that state it in black and white, christ!

Whilst I do agree with everything you've said, we do as consumers have rights and included in those rights is the right to cancel a contract within a specific time.
If I'm that bothered that they might charge me the higher rate for the first month and then I'd get back the difference at a later date I would cancel it there and then. However, what is not clear is whether this happens to people that had the two loyalty discount lines applied at the point of taking the contract out / speaking with EE??
If that is the case then it's very odd that their system allows them to charge that amount... unless the DD is processed the instant the order is received... We'll see what happens

I just got that too. I believe the same as you do, clearly sent because of all the impatient people on here lol. I'm going to wait as per the instructions.

The only part I've ever disagreed with is them not releasing this information about the £34.99 initial charge until after you've purchased/contracted. Not really an issue for me or perhaps most here, but some people might really miss that extra £15 taken for a couple of months. If anyone else owed you money, you'd get it back with interest, albeit a really silly amount of interest.

So its more an issue of principle. EE can deliberately, not accidentally, overcharge a customer and tell them not to worry about it as its credited back for the next bill. Conversely, a customer is absolutely not allowed to pay EE less than the monies due, accidentally, deliberately or otherwise. I'm sure that there would be late payment fees and all sorts being levied at the customer if they acted like EE.

My first bill was just generated by EE for £34.99. I've spoken to Mobile Phones Direct who said to contact EE since they control the billing, but before MPD put the phone down the advisor requested a "proof of purchase" to be sent to me which can take up to 48 hours.

I think it really depends on how much you want the £96 discount, if nobody does then this thread is redundant as it's an existing deal with EE as we all know so it's nothing "special" and doesn't warrant a slot on Hot or Not (my new name for the site lol) - but, for the sake of probably 10 minutes out of 12 months in your life it is worth it to some
As you say, certainly no need to panic - if for some reason they don't honour the redemption package (when it's quite clear what you have to do to qualify) then they'll be out of business pretty quick - but you take risks with many deals and companies you deal with in life... play it safe and you'll never know !!

This is a very good deal. My O2 mobile contract is due for renewal and I'm also moving to a flat that doesn't have Internet so this is good timing! Cheaper than some of the MiFi offers I've seen.

I've noticed that on MPD there is also a Vodafone 20GB plan for £16/month (after cashback). It also offers unlimited data for the first 2 months. That works out to be 80p/GB. The EE plan is slightly cheaper at 75p/GB but I could benefit from the additional data allowance especially for the first 2 months when I move into my flat!

Can anyone tell me if there are any other advantages for choosing Vodafone?

Besides the swathes of complaints and issues with their Customer Service (only to be better-helped by their one-man web team), I would recommend you stay clear of Vodafone after taking a read of some of these threads: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=14

That said, they do have a good service where I am and there are some happy customers, I guess it just depends on whether you're lucky enough to run into any issues.

I ordered the same deal directly from EE for £16.49 per month (10% discount as an existing customer applied) and got £26.99 tracked on TCB as well. I asked the CS if the 10% discount would be withdrawn if I cancel the original contract and I was told that the price would stay the same until I upgrade or renew the contract (it was also confirmed that the price would stay the same even after the 12 months of the initial contract.

I called them today and another CS said the discount would be stop being applied after I cancel the original contract with them. I got him to listen to the call which he did and confirmed me to honour the deal after consulting his manager.

So, I cancelled the original line which was finished on 9th of April and got the same deal for £16.49 (hopefully £26.99 through TCB).

I must say that customers service advisors have been advising different things to the customers and it is always better to have a supervisor or a manager involved.

Problem is the thread is too long, people are also coming into it all the time but not reading from the start (who can blame them), also because people (including me) have been told different things by different people - EE online chat, EE in store and MPD themselves it creates worry because you post some information and then someone else will say its rubbish etc. LOL. At the end of the day the deal published must be honoured, its just that there is a frenzy of worried people thinking they will have to pay £34.99 instead of £19.99 but if you take a step back you can see this is an EE deal reduced from £34.99 to £19.99. Its just that MPD will sort out the cash back stuff to give us all £96 off. Simples! ;-)

I must admit neither have I lol and I should really... I work in consumer law so have a lot of information/advice to impart to help people along the way but I'm often very busy "elsewhere". Suffice to say every time you have something to eat I've received some kind of reimbursement in the way of compensation or punitive damages ;-) It's all easy if you know how.....!!
But you're dead right - it says on the tin £19.99 and the proverbial will hit the fan if they don't uphold their end of the deal !!
Common sense prevails of course... but often in cases like this people don't have the patience to read previous replies which often already contain the answers to the question their about to post !

I've just had the £15 loyalty applied by EE, took about 2 minutes so not worth getting wound up over.

Guy was a bit hard to understand though so I have a question for anyone who has had this applied, my "add-ons" are showing the £15 loyalty discount, but my bill is showing still as 34.99, does that mean that each month my bill will be showing as 34.99 but that £15 loyalty gets applied to cancel it out? I couldn't be bothered trying to ask the bloke who wasn't based in this country haha
cheekyfrazzleboi to atomicrobokid
10 Apr 16 1 #761
Your bill WILL still show as £34.99 because that was the original price of the plan and it's hardcoded in - but that's irrelevant, it could say £399.99 in there but as long as the difference between the loyalty lines and the quoted price is... £19.99 then that's perfect !
But yes, your bill should say "EE Sim only plan £34.99 - loyalty discount -£15.00 - total payable £19.99 !!
cheekyfrazzleboi
10 Apr 16 2 #760
Why would it affect the redemption, it's a completely separate issue of the "deal"

Listen peeps, it's quite simple: The deal is with EE - the purchase of the plan and redemption is with MPD - that's it - so the contract is for £19.99 less the redemption - that's set in stone and that's all you need to worry about  If you don't get that then tell them to shove it and sue them for misrepresentation...!!

10 Apr 16 2 #759
Yes, I'm confused by this - what is "crippling" about the deal, it's the same??? However there is NO free EU roaming (all the included details have been posted before in this thread)...

As for the "hassle" - this is a site for hot deals, spending 60 seconds uploading a bill and filling in a few fields on a form and pressing submit (a few times in the year) hardly constitutes hassle in my mind, but then it depends if you want to benefit from the deal or just ignore the offer - defeats the object of using the site otherwise

Nitin (Manager): You'll need to pay the first bill in full.
Nitin (Manager): That's advanced line rental.
Nitin (Manager): If you have any question around it, please visit the third party store from where you got this contract.
Me: what exactly is advance line retail, that is an EE charge though is it not?
Nitin (Manager): Yes, that's our process.
Nitin (Manager): When you sign up for a new contract, we take one month advance line rental.
Nitin (Manager): Please click here to find out more
Me: ok so, in a nutshell. Can i confirm the following: you are saying that i will be charged 34.99 on my first bill (due to advance line rental) but after i will charged 19.99 (from month 2)?
Nitin (Manager): Yes.
Nitin (Manager): Rather month one.
Nitin (Manager): The bill you got was generated the next day you took this contract.
Nitin (Manager): The regular bills would be £19.99.
Me: ah, ok. so are you saying that i will be charged 19.99 for month one?

I would tell them to shove it then - it's EE that will lose a customer for a years rental if they can't be consistent in their approach to this. You only have to show them my screen shot (posted earlier in this thread) so that they know what to do and how to apply the two lined discount (this will then ensure that only £19.99 is charged from month 1 to the end of the contract) - it's not rocket science tell them!! Otherwise, personally, you might end up chasing them... and remember, your contract is with EE - but I gotta say having spoken to them over the past few days the customer service has been excellent. I'm not sure if it's because I'm an existing good and valued customer or not but I can't fault them... so give it a try, give them the ultimatum ;-)

If there's no luck then don't go for the deal, simples - just tell EE they've lost a customer... the only contract in this deal is with them - EE - the purchase (although from MPD) and redemption is the only part they play in this agreement. Some have already got through to EE and everything is sorted, the two discount lines added to their account for this deal and all is set. It's too early to tell if the 1st months payment was collected OK without issue as the deal has not long been released... give it a few weeks and ask again but if people continue with this deal without agreeing with EE via CHAT - (so you have a record) the terms, and they have the loyalty discount lines of £15 total on their account then more fool them - the advice is on this thread for all to read

It's all worked out for me - as above - they have added two loyalty line discounts totalling £15 so it brings my monthly payment down to the agreed £19.99 - bottom line is whatever they tell you in the chat you will have proof of - if you don't like the deal then walk away - simples!! I'm up and running and all fine, I'll check my bill of course but as I can see the two discount lines on my account page I should just get billed the £19.99 - if I don't then I'll cancel and charge them for inconsequential loss, stress, and seek compensation and punitive damages!! no luck with webchat or 150 customer care.

EE just refused to honour the deal at £19.99. want MPD to directly get in touch with EE and get the tarriff changed.
the customer service guy kept pointing how EE recommends not to buy from 3rd parties because of exact same issues, but when i asked why EE allow this to happen in the first place (by letting 3rd party sellers sell these kind of deals via false advertising, misrepresentation), his reply was that EE still gets money off these contracts so they cant just stop a revenue generating setup. to me this sounded like it was EE know that these issues will arise but they still allow the setup (which lead to these issues happening) continue because it earns them money (at the expense of a customer)

surely this cant be right.

so nothing has changed. not sure how others who have managed to get this tarrif changed in their accounts have done that.

as for me, i am thinking of cancelling the contract..not to buy EE again and of course raise a complaints with the trading standards and ofcom.

oh..and i have to go to MPD to ask for cancellations. absolutely incompetent. both EE and MPD.

note to people buying this..it probably is going to be okay, but if its not, its going to be a nightmare to deal with it.
