I wouldnt chance this - LG T&Cs state specific retailers and Ebay/Technolec_UK are not on there. Yes ebay protection might help, but probably not worth the chance

Does this suffer from a bootloop issue? My LG G4 had this so I'd assumed they would have fixed this in the newer models.

Why would you worry about that if you have a two year John Lewis warranty?

Second this comment, too many LG phones suffer with bootloop issues. My G4 was with repair centre for 2 months, I rang every week and was told to call back the next week, appalling.

Third the comment. LG G4 was by far one of my fave handset to date until it died. LG didn't want to know about it.
Never again LG, out of principle I will never buy from them again.

I was lucky, my phone was rooted and they still covered my bootloop issue under the warranty. They did the same for my sister too who also has a G4.

I'm sorry but having read your comments above .... You're telling everyone that you Allowed the Repair Centre to keep Your phone for 2 Months...or 56 Days...? And you Allowed them to do this..? Surely after a reasonable Time Span...shall we say 14 Days of Not having your Phone - that was being Repaired - due to their Fault..You didn't take Further Action to either have your Phone back Repaired or Replaced...their is a Compensation issue here that would have been Addressed if it were me...The Small Claims Court & a £25 Summons for starters...I just don't understand how some people tell the world(as you described) and yet don't seem to do much....Come On..

LG had my monitor for 3 months before ultimately failing to repair it due to discontinued parts and issuing me a refund. However for the entire 3 months I was continually assured that the fix was imminent and it would be back with me soon, had to call them each week only to be fobbed off with another excuse. Easily one of the worst customer services experiences I've ever had with any company in my whole life. I was simply being lied to over and over and the fight I had to put up to get the refund was beyond belief

Battery life sucks and the lcd screen is very poor. Camera processing is also quite bad even worst than it was on the G4. The oneplus 3t is a better buy. I got mine from eglobal for £317 about 2 months ago but sold it on as it was a real let down. I hear the v30 fixes all the previous issue so waiting for that.

The screen on the G6 is lovely. Can only assume they're part of the 'anything but AMOLED is sub-par' brigade. It's one of the best displays I've seen though.
I don't have my G6 anymore as I gave it to a relative but it's a really nice device, and the idea that it will bootloop just because LG made it is without proof and irrelevant anyway in the case of this deal, since John Lewis would handle any issues under their two year warranty. There would be no need to ever send it to LG.

If you did the RMA in the UK, that would have been the pirates/pathetic excuses for humans at "SBE Ltd" in Kent, not actually LG. They are a national repair centre for most brands of mobiles and if you RMA you have a strong chance of it ending up there. They completely borked my Nexus 5 which I only RMA'd for a cosmetic issue. They claimed water damage too and then didn't put it back together right!! A look online found that water ingress was a design fault of the N5 and even if it was in a case all it's life, moisture could seep in and void the warranty! LG didn't want to know!
Worst repair company I've ever dealt with (Even worse than eBuyer RMA!)

Have to agree with many of these comments. The bootloop issue appears to be a fundamental flaw in LG phones and tablets. My old LG Gpad 8 tablet as well as LG G2 phone gets this regularly, the only way to get rid of it was to do a factory reset every few months. I'm planning to install cyanogenmod - or whatever it's called now - on both devices soon.

It's all down to risk. For me it isn't worth the saving when LG has had questionable reliability such as the G4. I own a G5 so I'm not an LG hater by any means.

22 Sep 17#66
It was certainly questionable with the G4 and V10 with the bootlooping issues they had. Latest models shouldn't be any riskier than anything else. I barely ever buy a phone from the UK now.

The main reason they’re cheap abroad is because you’re avoiding tax. Whatever the rights or wrongs of that, John Lewis and others can’t compete with imports where taxes are not paid. You do basically lose any warranty as these grey import companies are not reputable, nor do they particularly care about the laws that govern a particular country. If everyone avoided tax and bought from Hong Kong and other places like that though we basically wouldn’t have a high street and our economy would sink into ruin.
