For anyone wanting this game on XBox 360 or XBox One (it's backwards Compatible), it's very cheap at Music Magpie - £1.89
Well worth it. Great game. And with a bit of John Goodman to help you out.

It's certainly good enough to take a punt at that price, for anyone in doubt

Underrated. It's better than Doom 4 in some ways.

I wouldn't go that far, its heavily dated from what I remember playing it a few months ago - its an amazing game, and for little over £2 definitely worth a play.
Two completely different games regardless though.

I played Rage last year and I'm in the middle of Doom now.
Rage has more interesting environments, and there's more variety in the things you have to do. (Heck, there's even a pretty decent racing section thrown in!)
I'd say that Doom's combat has much in common with Rage's: they both involve frantic combat against rabid, highly agile enemies, every weapon is useful, and meleeing is crucial.

Remember getting this at launch, played it a bit and just when I thought the game was going to open up it finished. But it was good while it lasted.

Can't tell from the page if this is the Anarchy Edition or not - in my opinion essential since the bonus gun in that package is a double barrel shotgun that's ludicrously fun to use. Had a blast playing this game - the combat is terrific - my only complaint was I wanted more of it and to have no downtime driving around to get to it! Also it takes a bit of tweaking to fix some residual bugs with the texture streaming (the game fails to generate the folder for the temp texture cache, iirc). Much of the character modelling is really great, too, along with the animation, especially in hit detection and death animations. Blapping muties with both barrels is ace.

You probably wouldn't find out until you redeemed the code sadly.
