Fairy Dust by Paris Hilton is a Floral fragrance for women. Fairy Dust was launched in 2008. The nose behind this fragrance is Mane. Top notes are Peony and Orange Blossom; middle notes are Gardenia, Peach and Lotus; base notes are Musk, Vanilla and Patchouli.

The fifth perfume in fragrant collection for women by Paris Hilton was presented and named Fairy Dust. It was made in cooperation with Mane USA, under the license of Parlux. The fragrance was announced as a new edition, which will definitely stir the public, just like Paris herself wherever she appears.

Fairy Dust opens with sparkling aromas of Processo, with pink peony and orange blossom, while the heart blooms with spring gardenia, peach nectar and lotus. The base notes incorporate patchouli, cashmere, musk and vanilla cream.

The perfume arrives in a glass bottle with an illustration, gentle fairy, in the centre of the bottle. Fairy Dust is available as 50 and 100ml EDP, with 200 ml body care lotion. The new edition will be available in over 90 countries of the world.

I won't lie. The main reason I bought this is because I had a totally uncharacteristic and random bought of nostalgia over the Y2K blinged-out, cheesy over the top style that kids these days revere, but only some remember. And it was $13 lol.

I think I remember liking this back in the day, and back then, that was unusual for me. I had and owned the original Juicy (said to be similar to this) and while I kind of liked it, I've definitely come around to it more as I age. In fact, tuberose/ orange blossom were notes I always dismissed, but in the past five years I've done a total 180 on. So Fairy Dust seemed like a safe bet.

In fact, it was 13$ well spent! There's a less than five min edge of "plastic" when you first spray it on (full disclosure I did like 5 sprays), but it soon settles into a slight rich, slightly fruity floral that is at once grown up and girlish (well at least what was girlish in the early 2000s lol). I miss celebrity scents like this, I mean affordable ones because now there are "niche" priced ones (which are kind of ridiciouls and presumptuous imo but that's a different topic). While they may have had similarities to some best sellers some times, they weren't a factory for cheaper smelling dupes like some are now (*ahem* Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish). There was little fear of being branded a "grandma" scent, so the range was wider. You could find big florals, or patchouli dominant orientals. Somehow, despite the celebrity of it all, it was so much less self conscious and grasping for relevance. It could be over the top, cheesy looking, smell like something an older woman might like but be totally for younger people too, and be fun all at once.

This is a likeable fragrance. It starts it's soft and linear. Then this watery faint floral hangs in there ~ into a spicy / watery floral. This isn't a linear fragrance or beastly but I don't detect Gardenia, it's more about the Lotus and patch for me.

There's not a trace of fragrance by the house of Liz Taylor as mentioned, it just doesn't go in that direction. I would also down vote Burberry London as compared to OR "reminds me" as well. Burberry London is a classic hard core rock star that's very bright and happy. This Fairy Dust is different and aptly named.

Edit - Okay now that it sits after I sprayed it stronger concentrated Peony/Peachy vibe but not a trace of Gardenia. It has a scent of Burberry Sheer but on a lighter side - I'm not sure Coty makes Sheer TG

It's safe to say it reminds me of that sharpness @ first blast ~ then tames down unlike the real Burberry Sheer. This is a beach fragrance I'll throw in my bag but won't need or want another 🐩

I like Fairy Dust, it’s nice, but it’s not a love. It’s definitely a mature scent, gives me 80’s or 90’s vibes and I don’t think it’s very unique. My 22 year old doesn’t care for it. The orange blossom, gardenia, peach, and musk are the notes that stand out to me. I’m not a gardenia fan, but this one isn’t bad. I agree with others, I feel like with a name like Fairy Dust, this should be more light, airy, pretty, maybe fruity. I’d say this is more sexy or elegant. I will not repurchase, so I recommend testing or getting a good deal like I did. I paid 7.99 for a travel size bottle on eBay. My favorites from PH are Gold Rush and Dazzle so I’d rather buy second bottles of those.

After reading the reviews for this fragrance, I'm on the fence about purchasing it. Especially when I see this perfume reminds me of....Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia. Um, that's very concerning to me, considering ElizabethTaylor is the queen of church lady fragrances. Trust me it's definitely no shade to a "mature" fragrance. I'm turning 45 (no spring chicken but def don't consider myself old) this year and I've been wearing YSL Opium and Estee Lauder Cinnabar since my 20's and I love everything about those fragrances. So I'm not afraid of a "mature" fragrance. "Old lady fragrance" is all in what you make of it. I say if it smells good on you then, do you. Make their heads turn when you walk by them 😆 🩴🥿👠👡🩰👢.

Fairy Dust does not get enough hype. This in my opinion is one of the most expensive smelling Paris Hilton perfumes next to Gold Rush. Paris is not afraid to touch white florals like gardenia and make it work. I definitely get the peony, peach and lotus. It settles down to a clean sweet floral musk. The patchouli is slightly there but it's not so strong that if you hate patchouli, you will still probably like this. Patchouli is also added another Paris Hilton perfume called Dazzle which comes off as a light star anise scent that goes with the sour cherry note so well. I feel like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears really know how to do a great designer luxury smelling perfume with patchouli.

This celeb perfume it is a no celebrity one.
It is mature, big white flower and non knows
what perfume you are wearing:certainly not a celeb one.
It is fresh, and very good one for spring and summer.
Very underrated.
When I first saw the package I was sure that this perfume was for preteens etc.
I bought it blind out of curiosity.
They have to do something with the name but Fairy Dust?Certainly noop.

Of course I’m sold! Give me a good performing white floral, at a very affordable price point and I can’t say no, even if the packaging and “packager” are not my favorite 😂. The initial blast is a bit sharp and synthetic but so are most modern fragrances from cheapos to niche (Montales and Manceras tend to be the worst for me). But if you wait it out, you get a gorgeous gardenia (take note Gucci 😜). Some days I get a strong peony note but not on others. I also appreciate the fact that this came 15 years ago when white florals were out of fashion, some people will always consider them “old lady” , whatever that means, even though they’re back now drowned in sugar 😆 but they’ve always been my catnip 😍.
A good white floral that won’t break the bank during these hard financial times.✅

hpeeters

Nothing memorable for me =( Definitely that floral, woodsy & musky scent. Smells like old fairy dust? It Was not for me so I rushed through my bottle & never looked back! But I can’t hate on Paris because it’s the only scent of hers so far that I disliked. She has a great line!

artpopmixer

I love that this is a really affordable crispy white floral smell. Like the notes are missing the top note of Prosecco which I think plays a huge part in the opening of this perfume as it’s very sweet with a bubbly peach Prosecco accord that makes it stand apart from other gardenia perfumes to me, when that dies down the perfect wet and humid gardenia comes out and it’s so alluring with a faint hint of peony in the background and it stays that way for a while.
In the dry down a whisper of patchouli comes out but I feel it’s the musk that stands out the most as it begins to blend In with the heart notes and then becomes stronger as the scent begins to fade.
It’s so cheap to pick up now and I love the 80s style lid and the box I was loving all the shimmery art with Paris all over the box. The juice has turned to an orange brown colour but I always think that means the perfume has aged better like a fine wine lol but that’s just me.
If you see this pick it up it can be found for around £10 for the 100ml In the uk and it’s a long lasting white floral that doesn’t smell like a normal celeb fragrance. I see the comparisons with Juicy Couture but I feel that’s more of a tuberose watermelon kind of freshness and Fairy Dust is a Gardenia dipped in peach Prosecco.

VanillaTabbyCat1963

I love this! It is all about sweetness, with a lot fizzy processo and peach. Yum!! The other notes seem to stay in the background-except for a little gentle musk that peeks through now and again. Thankfully, I get no patchouli. I don't get an old fashioned vibe at all. For me, Fairy Dust is a really well done fruity floral. I love how it lasts. And lasts.

alleycatseyes

I love that this is mature for some when it’s a dupe for juicy couture 🥰🤣

sravz

It is strong floral, i had it for few daya and then gave to mom. It was never disappointing but i felt its mature for me, but mom loved it.

Fatima1219

This was one of my first Paris Hilton fragrances. When this was launched, I was in my mid-20s--new wife, new mom, and new career. Of course, I needed a new fragrance, lol. It has many of my favorite notes. If the fragrance contains gardenia or patchouli--I'm sold! This perfume is quite nostalgic for me--I don't have it in my collection anymore, but I will be repurchasing it soon. It smells great, youthful--yet, mature.

who.am.i.you

I can’t understand the hate for this one. It’s such an easy breezy wear yet is somewhat more complex for a celebrity fragrance. It reminds me heavily of Jovan Island Gardenia but with a bit more of an incensed facet to it. It doesn’t smell dusty or old to me, actually it makes me think of youth! It lasts a long time on me and changes quite a bit throughout the wear. The more lactonic and “head shop” smell comes out more as it wears as the juicy fruit and wet gardenia settle down. This is one of few scents I’m quite low on.

pandasniffs

This smells elegant, a warm, sweet, peachy gardenia and does somehow come off as 'dewy' like a garden even though it's not at all a 'green' perfume.

SheAlwaysSmellsGood

I love all the references to "old lady" in these reviews. I guess everyone has their own idea of what constitutes an old lady perfume. To me, I'd say something like Chanel No. 5 or Emeraud screams "old lady". This perfume, Fairy Dust, reminds me of being in my 20s (I'm turning 40 this year). With my chemistry, the smell is quite peppery and deep, and it lasts all day. I would definitely call it sexy and ... well, not necessarily mature... but old the enough-to-know-better, kind of mature. It smells the best in the middle of summer. Deep and syrupy and delicious. I will wear this one for the next 20 years if I can.

_wynona_

This one is so interesting as a bit of lotion makes a WORLD of a difference.

This was a blind buy (I've been a bit obsessed with any whimsical/fairy/fantasy themed perfumes as of late). I sprayed this on my un-moisturized skin and quickly understood why so many reviewers call this an "old lady" perfume. It definitely smelled sharply 80s with spicy florals, powder, and patchouli.

Knowing my skin and its tendency to completely chew up perfumes and spit out some unpredictable notes, I layered on some lotion (anything vanilla, coconut, almond, or musk works for my skin) and gave it another spray. The scent revealed itself- pretty orange blossom and peach, whimsical lotus, and more vanilla musk than patchouli. Pretty delightful! I have a bottle of YSL's Cinema, which could be Fairy Dust's older, more sophisticated sister.

baekhyun

not to be another "this smells like an old lady perfume!" critique because i don't think that has to be a bad thing! many old ladies are fabulous! but this one is just.... not. i'm getting much more dust than i am fairy! but if you enjoy strong floral scents it could be worth a try, especially since it's pretty inexpensive.

mariboo

Strong vanilla. Has a very whimsical and preppy vibe.

KatelynMLovesPerfume

This perfume might be for someone but definitely NOT for me.. The gardenia is sickening in this fragrance and gives me a headache. I don't usually get headaches from frags. It's just literally so screechy and musky I can't lol. I actually blind bought this too!! Lol big mistake. I like most of her other fragrances tho.

Celcia

This is a very retro smelling fragrance, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but definitely not something I’d wear. It doesn’t shot or even whisper Y2K, but it sure screams late 80s/early 90s. I’ll give Paris this much, a fairy probably would smell like this as it’s very very white floral. The gardenia and pink peony are very strong here, super loud with a touch of peach. I received this as a sample vial and it’s lovely, but not for me. I’m more of a Siren and Can Can girl if we’re talking about her cute fairytale themed fragrances.

Kim Kirk

I'll go ahead and claim the "old lady" role and this is too much gardenia for me. I've had the tester card for some time now and decided to try it on today. It was a scrubber. Couldn't get it off fast enough.

amandavolpe

Cozy peach and vanilla jam, dewy gardenia petals. Decadent.

dualaokto

Lots of gardenia and musk in this fragrance. Pretty, sharp, and sexy. I'm a bit surprised for its quality considering its cheap price and the fact that it's a celebrity perfume. The projection, silage, and longevity are just perfect. Really nothing to complain about. Love this.

Ferra_Verto

Very lovely white floral, big personality and very inviting.
Waxy gardenia sweetened by a lightly jammy peach & sweet peony, all balanced on a solid musk. There's a light leather accord I'm detecting, though I don't see it as a listed note.
Good sillage (arms' length) and while it stays pretty linear, it's no less engaging for its efforts.
Perfect for warmer weather.

bel.gravia

A retro gardenia, not sweet at all. Lightly musky with aquatic lotus hints. The bottle too looks like a perfume from long ago..... a good budget friendly choice if you want a mature soli floral.

nateya

This smelled like pure coconut to me but then I watched a review on YouTube and someone said it smells only like gardenia to them. So I went to go smell it again and now that’s all I smell. Idk why or how this happened but I’m not happy about it lol. Idk how to review this. I liked this perfume a lot but I’m just confused. I’m hoping my brain thinks it smells like coconut again. Longevity and sillage is great!

PatienceValley

I have a old tester card from this perfume that I found recently and just from smelling the smell thats left on the old tester card, it is literally heaven. Theres no tester tube bottle with the perfume in the card left, just the smell thats left on the card. I cant even describe the smell its so good. I had remembered in middle school I had gotten that tester card and wanted this perfume so badly, went to a bunch of stores looking for it but couldnt find it because it had been discontinued for a long time. Kinda surprised a old tester card still has the smell on it.

So recently I had bought a full bottle of this expecting it to smell like that, but it didnt at all. Maybe when it ages it smells a lot better? I had bought a bottle that looked the least aged so maybe Ill try a more aged bottle and update this review. The original color of this perfume is a white slightly yellow color, the aged bottles turn a very dark color. Maybe ill also buy a tester card from ebay with the tester tube still in it and compare them. Im dedicated to finding whatever smell is on the tester card lol.

I think it could be a powdery musky vanilla Im smelling on the card but Im not sure.

maya_papaya

I'm a junkie for celebrity perfumes. I love wearing something I blind-bought for $15 at Marshall's, giving someone a hug or sitting near them, having them say "You smell so good, what is that?" and then watching their face when I tell them I'm wearing Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, or Rihanna.

This is one of those fragrances. White floral, patchouli, and musk are the main notes here. Some may say they smell old-lady, but I feel like it smells weirdly....spiritual? Like walking into one of those new-age witchy-adjacent shops that sells crystals, sage, incense, and spellbooks. I suspect I'll love this for the colder months. It certainly isn't what I think of when I think of Paris Hilton perfume ("Just Me" is more up that alley), but it's a real shocker in a great way!

CK_Leo

I think Paris Hilton was trying to go for that "exotic" feel for this perfume but ended up being more old-lady. The notes of orange blossom was unexpectedly strong and dominating, however, once it dies down it becomes a very nice scent. It's whimsical and unique, definitely not something to expect from Paris in the 00s.

purplenoon

Fairy Dust is a good fragrance, but a hard sell.

It may be a celebrity fragrance, one in a million under the Paris Hilton brand, but it is far from a fruity, sickeningly sweet Lolita moment the category suggests. In fact, if the Fairy Dust marketing campaign suggests Tinker Bell’s vivacity and lightness, the actual juice lands closer to Wendy’s mom: it is an enveloping, heavy floral, beautifully mature and suggestive of nights at the opera rather than in Neverland. Much more Kathy than Paris Hilton.

This is not the fragrance I expected when I bought it at a local drugstore, with no prior knowledge, for next to nothing. As I mentioned, it stands out with an olfactory presence and sophistication that is in stark contrast to its ad campaign (Tinker Bell as Gladiator? Unclear.), which is to say nothing of its tacky bottle. Its strong peony opening is replaced by a well-blended and sturdy gardenia accord, before it settles into a robust musky lotus skin scent. It doesn’t let up for a moment, and is a safe choice for fresh fall weather or a night out — but again, country clubs or galas, and not the more carefree glam the PH brand is built around.

Fairy Dust is, without a doubt, a worthy addition to one’s wardrobe, but it requires some Inception-level deprogramming for a truly personal experience. A false advertisement, perhaps, but a rewarding fragrance nonetheless — especially for its current pricing.

clorie

to veanera, try jontue. not the same, but distant cousin, very flowery, light, beautiful, and not heavy patchouli at anytime of the wearing

Joseownsyou

Strong opening notes took about 5 minutes to calm the initial spray. Heavy gardenia, musk, and patchouli. Last a long time on the skin and dries down to a light powdery vanilla but the initial spray was strong. Also confused why the liquid is almost a whiskey color when the ad shows it more clear.

Kathgolap88

It is a beautiful perfume if you survive the alcohol burst at opening. I don’t get any of the above listed notes at opening. Kind of weird alcohol smell attacks the olfactory system for 5-10 seconds. Next five mintues it reaches to the base. Well this five minutes isn’t a treat either.
The peony and orange blossom creates an unpleasant mess. Then comes the beauty if it.
A pure lush Gardenia scent that lingers quite a while.
I love how it smells on the clothes the day after.
I love this part very very much. A bit of citrus or touch of coconut and spice would make it a sensual gem.
Well, it wouldn’t be a Paris Hilton discontinued 10$ cheapie then!
It is very similar to Juicy coutour edp.
Only the JC one lasts and lasts while this one lasts on average 4-6 hours.
But come on Prada la Femme costs four times higher than Fairy Dust, but last less than an hour.
I am gonna use this to my heart's content this summer.

Anapaul I feel sad that you are feeling self conscious about wearing Fairy Dust. I want to reassure you that this fragrance does not smell like a grandma, although it is appropriate for a wide age range. I'm sure that you smell absolutely lovely while wearing it! Fragrance perceptions are quite individual to the wearer as well as those smelling it around us. If we think it makes us smell like a grandma then that is the perception we will create while wearing it, others will perceive this fragrance based upon their own fragrance memories and tastes. For me, this is a beautiful floral heavy fragrance with a unique musky base. Your referral of this fragrance as cozy is spot on and I think that it projects like that because of the way the base notes work together to create a casual warm feeling while wearing it. I smell the orange blossom on the top and the gardenia and lotus in the mid are predominant, not a lot of peach. This is not a candy sweet fragrance but it's sweet in a floral musky way. I am impressed with the longevity and projection when I wear it, easily 4-5 hours medium projection. I feel pretty and confident while wearing Fairy Dust. It's not a dated perfume in the least! Enjoy!

Anapaul

This is my cozy perfume that I like to wear to bed. This used to be my everyday perfume when I went to high school. People here saying it smells grandma ish makes me conscious now. It make me want to sniff my night shirt over and over because of how cozy and comforting it is. It lasts for hours on me as well. I wouldn't wear it out as I don't wanna give off grandma vibes (supposedly) but this will always be my cozy to bed and weekends at home fragrance.

Madyana

We each have our own perception of that, what is grandma smell. Now when I am already almost that age, this must be for me the smell of the mummy! Heavy gardenia. Another 70’s every aunt’s favorite flower was lily of the valley. No lily of the valley here, but that 70's atmosphere is. And that is not, at least yet, my cup of tea. No way!

jermany.clark

I am most proud to say that this has been in my collection for years! It is one of my grab-n-go’s . I have been through several bottles, so I rack up on them when I see them being sold. This smells just like the Original Juicy Couture scent for women. So, if you are looking for an inexpensive DUP of that scent (Juicy Couture, Juicy Couture), then Fairy Dust is for you! Weirdly, every time I visit our local gas station to get gas, I am complimented from wearing this scent from both GUYS and GIRLS. Some look shock when I tell them what the scent is; others are getting out their phones looking it up to buy. LOL funny. This can be classified as a mature scent, however, anyone can pull it off in my opinion! I wear both men and women scents. It depends on your body’s chemistry what you will get from this magical elixir. Tuberose, Creamy Vanilla, & Clean Linen is what I get from this one, and its last a long time on me. I suggest, chunking out the notion that this is an “old lady” scent and dare to be different. All fragrance adjusts to your natural body scent. If it makes you happy, wear it! Who knows, you may discover and new favorite in this one. After all, fairies are full of magic and wonder.

Pandarapt

Maybe it's my sample that has turned, boxed for too long. But ...didn't enjoy this and I'm rabidly into gardenia at the moment. But this is gardenah. Parched, wtf-gardenia with funky musk sans the fun syllable. A long distance from real gardenias. Fardenia.

rosegoldrosie

This is one of the worst perfumes I have smelt, I like white florals but this one was just too strong and grandma-esque. I tried it multiple times but just couldn't do it and it became a scrubber each time. I gifted it to a friend who tried it, couldn't stand it either and they on-gifted it too. ;)

I think only try this one if you are a white floral lover but definitely try it on your skin first because there is something that smells really off in this. I always see it for a very low price in the store and I can see why lol

Veanera

At first spray this smells amazing to me. Magical, yes. But then it stinks! The patchouli? Does anyone know anything that smells this amazing without patchouli?

cassiesta

I got this as a gift many years ago and hated it at first. Then I grew to really appreciate its sophistication. It’s a classy scent, kind of mature a night perfume that can be worn year round I think, but especially a spring or summer perfume. I, being typically into sweeter perfumes and in my early 20’s, appreciated this perfume which really has an old school vibe. I wish I could find my bottle. I would rebuy a small bottle of this as it’s a classy scent for the price.

Edit: I found my bottle along with several other perfumes I was missing. It is very harsh at first spray, then develops into a lovely sophisticated floral. So glad I found this.

I also smell peach in the mix.

Gemsense

This is beautiful! It has to be above 55 degrees to experience it's beauty. I notice when it's too warm to experience my juicy couture to its full potential, then it's time to layer fairy dust and escadas born in paradise. There you have a warmer weather juicy couture! I love this gorgeous floral! Girls like me gotta have our florals! Thank you for this Paris!

aldinatic

I love all Paris Hilton perfumes but this one was a bit too much of a flower for me ;) i need some fruits in my perfumes :)

Mrsmooreavl

I prefer not to leave reviews this bad but I feel it’s excusable if I save someone from wasps penny on this mess is a bottle. This smells cheap as ...you know the rest. This smells very mature. As in, your ancestor that came over on the Mayflower had this in her trunk on the ship mature. I paid less than $10 and I still feel cheated! Have you ever been in a dollar store? Passed by the air freshener shelf. They have glade, air wick and right beside them is an ever cheaper dollar tree brand? You know, the sprayer on the can shoots out In a single stream like a water fountain instead of a puff like Glade? It’s labeled ”meadow”, smells sickeningly sweet, synthetic and cheap? This is EXACTLY what this smells like! I’m truly impressed by Paris Hilton’s love of animals! I love my own fur babies! Donating proceeds to animal charity is an honorable cause but I would rather donate $10 cash to keep this off the market. Do not blind buy! If you love this, you’re in luck because it’s very affordable. It’s also very cloying so please don’t wear it in public. there are many frags guaranteed to ensure compliments under $20!. I’m sure folks will thumb down my review because it’s harsh but you’d rather hear it online from a stranger than have people talk about how cheap & matronly you smell behind your back. Trust me, they are!

Diaryofsmallthings

I love this....and I mean LOVE! Take that Luca Turin! He gave this 1 star and a humorous 'fruity terror' label. Haha!

It's the lotus. The lotus is why I love Britney's Curious (another Turin 1 star fragrance!) so much also. It rises above any other note on my skin which is perhaps why this one is not 'grannyish' on me (gosh that's a term I dislike on these reviews) It transcends the gardenia, it's still there but is a creamy background note. Fruit syrupy lotus, unashamedly cheap and cheerful. I'm here for it.

Ronett

Its old fashion jasmine i cant smell something else

officer_barbrady

All the horror stories here made me so curious that I blind bought a bottle just to experience it.

It's...great! I get gardenias, musk and a little bit of peach. It's elegant, but not hard to wear.

Fairy Dust isnt sweet like the other Hilton offerings, so maybe that's what turned people off.

Holli

Smells old school. If I wear this while drinking coffee, the smells will mix together and make me feel like I'm in church. The gardenia smells a lot like the one in Very Hollywood just less sweet. I can smell the peony in here too. It helps calm things down a bit. If you appreciate gardenia perfumes of all levels, this is probably a safe and inexpensive buy.

carrico1986

This is a beautiful spring garden scent. It reminds me of a dewy garden in the early morning in the English country side. I think fairy dust definitely suits this perfume seeing as peony's and gardenia are considered fairy flowers.

This scent lasts about 4-5 hours. A happy, whimsical, Spring scent. I don't understand all the negative reviews. It must be coming from teens and women in their early twenties who don't appreciate a good floral perfume yet.

EDIT: This lasts much longer than 4-5 hours. I would say it's close to 7-8 hours. A couple spritzes goes a long way. This is definitely a scent you don't need to bathe in to be noticed.

justchillinxo

There is some slightly older fashioned gardenia, though overall it is soapy and warm. Smells clean but still inviting. The name, bottle and box are stunning, though I don’t entirely think the name suits the smell super well.

maryamzahid

I wanted to like this, I did. But it was too synthetic, overly floral and overbearing for my liking. The initial spritz manages to get stuck at the back of my throat and nose, causing me to sneeze. Once dried down, it seems to get marginally better, but still too harsh.

It seemed as if, the right notes were there, but the proportions were imbalanced. Maybe would have benefitted with something warm that could have carried out the rest of notes better such as amber or a rich gourmand fruity scent. The peach was sadly to me, lost and almost non-existent.

That being said, this is a cheap scent, and if you do love the floral powder fragrance, this may be for you. Otherwise, it is a hard pass. Try CanCan instead.

AaronStar

A Gardenia wine spritz, a bottle of bubbly gardenia champagne with powdery pink peony. A strong vanilla note, the scent is sweet and delicate, there is some musk to ground it, and green patch for freshness, there is juicy peach nectar blended well and just supports the whole gardenia composition. It's a delightful scent, floral, vanilla and prosecco, it's joyful, sexy and romantic. I love the concept, gardenias bloom at night in my garden and are so fragrant, the idea is lovely, a sexy storytelling fantasy, mystical and sensual. I can help but feel joy as the scent is sort of bright, sweetish and celebratory.
A gardenia scent to collect, if you love the flower, but also for vanilla and drink note lovers.

Longevity and sillage are extremely weak and I have to keep reapplying, but at its discount price, you can spritz again and again.

gtabasso

I love this!!!! What a great cheapie, sort of like how wonderful Madonna Truth or Dare was and under $10. Bottle this and call it niche! This is a very dry Gardenia that really smells to me like Tuberose. It has that difficulty level, creaminess and is paired with a super soft musk and some underlying tiny bit of peony. So glad I blind bought this one. Perfect for spring.

GardeniaLover

Received this, I smell vanilla, a very creamy vanilla, the prosecco, or wine spritz is there, I also smell the peach nectars and the soft pink flowers in the background providing it delicacy.

The gardenia is definitely there but on me its blended with the prosecco, vanilla and slight peach. It is a very strong vanilla, floral. The initial blast of prosecco is just so good, the bottle does seem like a drink or glass cup.
I like it, I really do, it is just like my vanilla body sprays and vanilla scents. To me this is like a vanilla/wine spritz/floral, cozy, bubbly, and at times the vanilla is edible, very gourmand, like a prosecco/vanilla candy. The prosecco is very prominent, this is a sweet scent.

It is not a very strong fragrance, but at the discount price you can reapply and buy another bottle.
I love fantasy, and fairies, anything magickal and sexy, this makes me happy, it's an uplifting scent, romantic even, its a thumbs up for me. The florals are clean, aromatic, sweet and powdery, the gardenia, the peony, the orange blossom, they are done well, pleasant, non-offending.
The flowers, gardenia, true to life, the peony is just powdery goodness.
If you like vanilla scents, sprays, this is one to collect, it is so deliciously good, that sweet, bubbly prosecco.

The gardenia/prosecco/vanilla accord is just divine, really love it!

chocolatwist

This should be called Grandma's Fairy Dust so people won't be confused! And Juicy Couture can be her long lost daughter! LoL

AaronStar

As a fan of all things gardenia, I had to try this, the majority of the reviews state this perfume is gardenia centered. Many people point how raw, big and prominent it is. Therefore I chose to get it, and I did, found it online at a discount price. I added it to my gardenia collection, as any lover of gardenias should. Gardenia as a flower has many facets, I suppose this one will be on an earthly tone with patchouli, yet ripe with sweetness, with the peach and peony. The composition reminded me of Liz Taylor's gardenia, that one has orchid for peony and does not have the sweet peach.
I am glad to know many reviewed it smells mature, I could not stand the contrary, many wrote is smells womanly and grown up, to the point of saying it smelled grannyish, I prefer granny to girlish. I think the name fits the scent, as gardenias are magical and ethereal, they have a heavenly quality to them.

perfumequeen5

I have no idea why this fragrance is rated so low, definitely underrated! I get a juicy fruity smell which must be the peach. It sits well between being a mature and youthful scent. It also reminds me of how my nana smells, maybe that's why I like it? The price is really cheap, I got my 100 ml bottle for 16.90 which is a bargain! It does slightly remind me of the powdery scent in Couture Couture by Juicy Couture while still being its own independent fragrance.

Perfume Queen Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Candy-Cane

It was a blind online purchase and I really wanted to love it but I just couldn't, it's average at best. The name is very misleading and doesn't fit the scent at all. The scent is very mature, strong and pretty much smells like a grandma perfume at first. It doesn't last very long, around 3 - 4 hours. After around 20-30 minutes it starts to smell way better but it's still not great, just okay. Overall it is really nothing special. I thought my mother would like it more and I could gift it to her but unfortunately she didn't really like it that much better either and she agreed with my opinion about it.

violetbelle

Warm, bubbly peach wine and vanilla- yum! I truly love this now but that wasn't the case initially. Peach-patchouli-musk unexpectedly dominated and I found it far too heavy. After having been sprayed several times, it's as if the remaining liquid woke up, fresh and lighter. I find the the overall scent to be so comforting. It may be reminiscent of Juicy but it is not the same. I have both and prefer Fairy Dust. Loving the dessert-wine quality!

*This is now nearly straight vanilla on me. Deep vanilla with peach slices, a touch of faint flowers and soft musk add nuance.. I can't help but love that. It's not for everyone (what is?) but when it works, it works, and it is beautiful. I laugh at the comments saying this is a grandma perfume. :) I will be one great smelling grandma! ♥
*Now springtime, the dry down on my skin is gardenia and vanilla.

Elreno22

Peony and orange blossoms seem like a pretty scent I should like, and I do, it’s fun to buy at good prices and if it doesn’t work out you haven’t lost much. I like this fragrance. It’s not impressive, but it’s light and daytimey. It’s flowery and has no harsh chemical smell like some inexpensive scents. The thing I like most about it is that it is flowery in a more sophisticated way and is not powdery. Nothing to complain about here. An inexpensive winner!

almondcookie

Keep those reviews coming, good and bad. Actually, helped me decide whether or not to purchase. Found this at a bargain and I am thankful I read the reviews. I knew it was going to be something I'd like. I saw this a while back and passed it off because I had some mature scents in my collection. Well, I couldn't resist as it was $10. This smells like those expensive luxurious perfumes from the 80s. Even the bottle screams vintage. However, the name Fairy dust is rather misleading considering how mature it smells. I wouldn't expect Tinkerbell to wear this. That being said, every now and then it's nice to see celebrities come out with actual perfumes, not the usual safe sweet scents.

carrico1986

This is a hard one to review. You have to be in the mood to wear this one. Sometimes when I wear it, it totally bores me... other times I almost crave it.

I think this would be best worn in early spring when there is still snow on the ground and the spring flowers are just starting to come up.

This is a more mature grown up scent from Paris. It is lovely and classy. Very white floral and not sugary sweet at all. It is strong and lasts forever...7+ hours.

AHeartLikeMine

This is straight-up white florals with a sweet edge to me. I get no musk and no patchouli, and I'm fine with that. It reminds me strongly of Tocca Florence. It's a great, CHEAP dupe, although it has weaker projection. I will have to test them side-by-side later. I don't see why all the hate for this fragrance. Yes, it's a grown-up scent, but it's a very nice one.

lailabellemakeup

Okay so I'm not usually a fan of florals but I bought this because it was like $11 for a 3.4oz on amazon and supposedly is a dupe for Juicy Couture Juicy Couture, which I love. I can see how they might be in the same genre of fragrances but smelling them side by side I don't think it's a dupe. Like there's something missing from this one that's in Juicy Couture Juicy Couture and whatever that is they've replaced with something very "mature" smelling. I might wear this in a setting where I'm trying to appear older than I am. I'd rate this a 6/10.

jg2758

This is lovely. There's a soft white flower and a very fresh smelling fruit. It's a very bright, cheerful scent that reminds me a little of hair spray.

(That doesn't put me off, the hair spray bit; I just wish I knew which one it was so I could layer my products! :p )

whitelips

I bought this online to test if I could replace the Siren by Paris Hilton (which I love but can't get my hands on anymore), and I couldn't have gone more wrong with this one! Didn't expect it to smell like Siren, but I wished to find similarities and at least like the scent on its own, because I've liked/loved Paris' other perfumes. When you spray it in the air Fairy Dust doesn't remind me of fairies at all, more like grandmas to be honest. Also on my skin the scent doesn't evolve to anything great and all in all this is too "old lady's" perfume for me. I gave it to my sister and on her skin the scent is amazing! Strong (one or two sprays are definitely enough) and long lasting, first it's pungent, but after a while it turns to very warm and (not overly) sweet scent.

Geishabot

This perfume is the most boring perfume to ever perfume. It’s like if you were to describe a perfume to someone who has never encountered one, and this is the bland thing they concocted in their mind’s eye. I used to layer this with CK Be to make it a little more feminine, but it was so boring I had to give it away.

petitegourmandisesbisous

This perfume smells identical to Juicy's Juicy Couture for Women perfume. I used to wear the juicy one a few years back but had run out and didn't feel like spending another $45 dollars on a small bottle. I wanted to try one of paris' scents and decided on fairy dust because of the advertisement commercial that I found on youtube. It was a complete blind buy and one that I am so happy with! I was so surprised when I first sprayed some out and smelled such a familiar scent. If you love the original Juicy Couture scent than you will absolutely love this one. The only noticeable difference to me is that this scent seems a little bit boozy or alcoholic initially although that part of it blends in quickly with the rest of the notes. If you don't want to spend the money on the Juicy one or want to try it before investing more money into the Juicy fragrance definitely try this one. The bottle is kind of eh to me. While I like the blue sprayer and the clear top that covers the bottle I do not really like the bottle itself. If the fairy wouldn't have been printed onto the bottle it would have been like one of the vintage bottles that women displayed on their vanities back in the day. The addition of the fairy imprint makes the bottle seem sort of weird to me though because it is not really playfully designed so it just seems out of place. The bottle is too serious for the fairy image and not playful enough for the theme of the fragrance in my opinion. It isn't a big deal though and is cute enough for me to want to display. Overall I love this perfume especially considering the price point and how unique it is considering it is a celebrity fragrance. Definitely worth a smell at the least, 5/5 for me.

Soofiya

I owed fairy dust another review
When I saw that I can't like it,I decided to gift it to my sister in law.our perfume taste is exactly opposite.she usually hates what I like(gourmands, sweet scents) and I hate what she likes(light aquatic florals, citrus scent)
I was hesitant because I never found her liking white florals or heavy perfumes but I was sure that I can smell lots of lotus here and she loves lotus.when she sprayed it,I thought wow it really smells good at first.as time passed nothing changed.it was still very lovely.a clean musky floral which projected very well and when walked, she lefted tail of a fresh, feminine scent behind.she said that she loves it and told me that it reminds her previous signature scent, bvlgari omnia crystalline!
I hate to treat a perfume unkindly and now I'm so happy that I could find a place for my full bottle of fairy dust where it's loved
Don't pass this one untried.if you like it and of course if it likes you,you may find a great value for the money you pay

Soofiya

This perfume isn't sold in my country and I'm interested in celebrity perfumes.it's pretty name,it's lovely notes(gardenia, musk, peony, orange flower and vanilla are my favorites)and it's very cheap price made me order it from a foreign website.I expected to like it and I did when I first tested it.I could see why it's compared to juicy couture but I didn't find them that similar
Last week I sprayed it on my skin for the first time.it's opening was nice.very loud and a bit harsh but still a nice, happy floral scent.my husband believed it's beautiful(he's into floral scents).but it didn't take much time to settle down to something I couldn't stand!first I thought why our room smells like cucumber but then I could see that it's not cucumber.it's like melon or watermelon.something ozonic and aquatic(which I hate)and something like spoiled fruit mixed with very intense white floral.I guess I can't handle peach and lotus together.all in all I hate lotus when I can detect it in a fragrance and it's very dominant here(at least on my skin).hubby asked me wether I had sprayed another perfume?I answered no.he was surprised:"but this one smelled nice.now it's disgusting!"
In that stage, I found it very similar to juicy couture but JC is balanced and not as loud as this one, also not as ozonic, aquatic as fairy dust though it's the one with water melon note.actually I can sometimes like JC (in rare occasions)but fairy dust made me sick.I'm very easy going and nothing can easily cause me headache or nausea but fairy dust was one of the rare cases I couldn't tolerate a perfume for even one more minute and had to wash it off and for the first time I experienced what I had read several time in negative reviews.it was so strong that I couldn't remove it!
Not every people is so sensitive to ozonic scents and not everyone has my skin chemistry which amps up anything aquatic or ozonic so I can get why other people may love it.
Today I decided to give it another chance.when first sprayed I could smell something like lilies rather than mentioned florals.then the terrifying phase started and lasted for an hour with huge sillage.it was better in drydown.finally I could smell my beloved gardenia but it didn't go well with ripe peach, soapy musk and sharp lotus to my nose.I won't try it again any time soon
It's bottle is another disappointment.it looks very cheap unlike it's nice box.a perfume named fairy dust can be more pretty and should smell totally different, soft and sparkly, delicate and magical,in my book
Fortunately it was cheap so I'll probably gift my 3.4oz bottle to a friend who likes it.this bad experience won't prevent me from testing other Paris Hilton perfumes as I also have dazzle from her which is pretty and easy to wear

Elsee

This was a surprise! I really like it. Yes, it resembles Juicy Couture but it has another level of "kick" to it. Very nice!

I can't believe I overlooked this for all these years. Ladies, this is bargain priced everywhere. I got mine for under $10 and feel it's worthy every scent. Try it!

Contessa01

I love this fragrance and got it for a bargain. Very underrated among her perfumes and I think it gets overlooked. There is an unfortunate downside being that it has little to no staying power, it is more like a body mist. If you like peachy fragrances like Amirage Givenchy and Juicy Couture Couture Couture you’ll like this scent I think.

Hayleysmells26

Hate the top notes but really like the dry down :) the top Notes smell of fizzy wine , what brings back a few hangover feels lol and antiseptic cream , not great but 10mins later it’s nice :) it’s floral and musky but plesent , would like to add it’s not bad just very diffident from the very sweet fruit foodie smells we are all so use to.

Beth1218

I really wanted to like this fragrance. I have PH Siren and am on my third bottle. Fairy Dust is nothing like Siren. FD reminds me of fragrances from the sixties and seventies. It’s like one of those vintage perfumes from Avon. It starts out way too strong. It dries down okay but nothing special. I’m glad I only bought the roller bottle as opposed to the full size 3.4. Needless to say, I won’t be purchasing this again. If anyone wants the roller bottle, I would be willing to trade it for a Siren roller bottle.

Wuzzabee

I wish there were a "meh" option in addition to the love, like and dislike. I had a sample, and I gave it a shot, even tho I can't stand Paris Hilton. But, c'est la vie. She is who she is.

I thought this fragrance smelled a lot like White Shoulders. I haven't used Juicy Couture.

It's a "meh" for me.

eladonnadepont

I don’t understand the amount of negativity on this Fragrance! I think it’s because it’s by Paris Hilton but as someone said before; if this was a designer Fragrance there wouldn’t be so much backlash on it. It is a PERFECT dupee for Juicy Couture for Women, the only difference is that Fairy Dust dries down more musky as opposed to a more sweet caramel like Juicy Couture.

This was a blind buy for me and I am so impressed by it! I don’t have to spend $70 on a bottle of Juicy Couture when something so similar is only $8 with literally the exact same smell and Sillage. Though I will always buy Juicy Couture because I enjoy prestige and quality, I can easily go to Paris Hilton’s if I can not afford the other! GREAT BUY! would recommend for someone ages 25-45 years!

odie

After passing by Paris Hilton's offerings in the perfume department I finally came across this beauty.

"Fairy Dust" is definitely a lovely intimate scent for a woman who wants to go out to intimate places without smelling obnoxious at night. All of the notes are noted from start to finish. I distinctly got the gardenia (which I thought was jasmine) the apricot and that beautiful musk that lifts this scent to where it should be.

I distinctly love the details on the box under the coverlet with Paris looking like a freaky fairy. Nevertheless, the sparkling highlights on dark blue is gorgeous. I think the bottle, though simple, is gorgeous and easy to hold. I appreciate the way the inside blue of the spray cap catches the light of the fairy figure spark on the bottle.

I was so satisfied with this fragrance I bought two and I am not giving anyone any. Its the night fragrance I was looking for after searching so hard. I got 2 100mL for $40TT for one! Magnificent in my book.

If you are searching for a pretty night fragrance do give "Fairy Dust" a try. My mother smelled it on me on Saturday night and said she really liked how it smelled. Must admit though, like a fairy this fragrance is a shy one during the day but comes out to play and spread its powdery beautiful indolic drama at night. This is my first night fragrance hands down!

cutsie587

After reading all the reviews and looking at the notes, I finally decided to purchase a bottle. On my skin, I smell the Lotus/Gardenia/Musk notes as center stage, and they stay that way throughout to the dry down. I think this is Paris Hilton's most mature scent; who truly knows how to make a Gardenia scent last, while smelling like a sexy, playful, fun loving woman. I really like it.

Sassy Mangina

Bought this one super cheap at a discount chemist. I figured it was worth the gamble, as I liked the original Paris Hilton perfume back in the day. Unfortunately, I am not digging this one at all. It smells like cheap old lady perfume on my skin. It's quite harsh and slightly nauseating.

The bottle isn't very attractive and it makes it look cheap.

Burgundy Jayde

This perfume is awful and gave me a migraine. One of the worst scents in history. It should of been called Fairy Farts instead...JUST MY HONEST OPINION.

juniemoon

I got a 10 dollar 30 ml bottle blind at Ross in SF while visiting my son and really had no idea what this would be like! But I was game, and this would be my first Paris Hilton fragrance so I thought here goes.

At first spray, it was, oh god, what is this. But in a few minutes that changed to: this is getting to - nice and peachy, warm, sweet, patchouli is the agreeable kind, bit of honey, I think, good lasting power because nothing usually does on me, and the white florals are charming me and...

I am seeing that fragrancex has the 100 ml for 13 bucks and I am so getting that!

MixedTastes

First things first: if this wasn't a celebrity fragrance (and associated with a particularly, ahem, vacuous celeb to boot) this would get so much more love I am certain.

Second thing: the name is incredibly misleading. 'Fairy Dust' makes me think of the Lily Flame candle/room spray of the same name - all fluffy marshmallow and pink powder puffs. That's NOT what this is.

In truth, Fairy Dust is a very nicely done, grown-up white floral and high quality considering the bargainous price. Its a strong, creamy gardenia and tuberose combination (tuberose is unlisted, but come ON: this is tuberose central!) for about an hour, with thwacking great projection. I really don't get the patchouli at all.

It mellows down nicely an hour or so in and the other notes creep in. I get peach, orange blossom, vanilla and a light musk. It has shades of a less potent Madonna Truth or Dare in the dry down, which is a winner with me.

Definitely one of the superior celeb fragrances.

smile4sharyn

Well hello Fairy Dust aren't you a lovely surprise!
I bought this blind yesterday for $10 at my local Chemist.
Thankfully this ended up being a good and happy blind buy for me
Its a lovely white floral, with a freshness to it.
Maybe its the Lotus or Peach that's doing that?
But it also has a musky , vanilla and soft patchouli under tone to it that sits so nice on my skin
This lasts a good 7/8 hours on my skin before it starts to disappear , which is pretty good before id have to reapply
This is such a pretty scent.
I really like it .
I had heard this was nice , so for 10 bucks I thought "What the heck. Lets live on the edge! " LOL

Ive only ever smelt one of Paris's perfumes before and that was her very first one when it came out years ago, and after that I was turned off by her perfumes and would just walk straight past them.
I really did not like that first scent one bit !

mamakatt38

Hmmm, this one is not for me. I hoped I would like it based on all the reviews that cite florals and comparisons to tuberose, even though I know it's not in the notes. But all I got was patchouli. It doesn't wear as a floral on me on me it's just loud. Sorry.

elizabeth_frnkln

I like this perfume. And as many are saying, for a celeb's it's potent and long lasting. The dry down turns into a men's cologne on me, almost all wood. I'd call it a nice winter's afternoon unisex.

Beadvised

It's alright very strong white floral note. It's on the cheaper side of scents. I would rather not wear a fragrance at all if this was my only choice. It's too offensive in the florals. I think this would be nauseating and rude to wear to dinner.

Tigi

I found a massive bottle of this online for under $8 with free shipping, so I thought, "why not?" and bought it blind, based on the description of it's composition here (fragrantica.com). I just got it in the mail today and am just basking in the light and lovely scent.
To my nose, it is a fruity-predominant floral that is softly grounded by something very earthy and green (without being pungent or acidic).
It makes me feel like I'm eating watermelon while seated in a comfy, mossy niche under ancient trees. Quite lovely indeed!
Fortunately, it's not cost-prohibitive by any means because it takes quite a bit (for me and my chemistry at least) to detect it at all; there is next to zero staying power for me, unfortunately, though spraying it on my clothes does give it some longevity (more than none). It's one that you'd need to carry with you if you want to smell it all day.

Edit: I just discovered that this layers beautifully over VS's Bombshell.
Hope this helps.

Sometimes on Fragrantica it is tough to discern whether dislike of a fragrance stems from the actual scent or from its branding. Fairy Dust presents an extreme case.

Early reviews here complain of its resemblance to Juicy Couture (2006). Apart from white flower dominance, they have little in common. Fairy Dust doesn't remind me much of anything else, certainly not JCJC. JCJC is more complex; it dries down; it's more ambitious.

As for branding and packaging, I literally have to laugh out loud because it's a coin flip which one is tackier: Paris Hilton's persona of the vacuous sleazy celebrity or the word JUICY stitched across size XXXL yoga pants. I love Juicy Couture fragrances, but in no way do I view their branding as a positive point. I would be less embarrassed for someone to see Paris Hilton bottles in my cabinet than Juicy Couture bottles. Bling and things dangling off bottles are funny.

I'm going to be real honest here and admit that cheap fragrances have a cheerful quality the "real stuff" lacks. As someone who has to dress seriously for work and wear sensible grown up professional scents (usually Chanel 19, Amouage Gold, some Guerlain or other, White Linen Light Breeze, etc...) most days, I really crave my down time when I can wear cheap PH fragrances, Juicy Couture, Britney Spears, and so on. So it's funny to see Juicy Couture fans berate this one.

From the website (worth reading):

<< Paris Hilton waves her magic wand and enchants young women in every corner of the world with Fairy Dust, her magical new fragrance. It invites women of every age to believe that with a sprinkle of Fairy Dust dreams really can come true. There's just a hint of magic in this captivating new fragrance from Paris Hilton.

Enticing, Flirtatious, Fascinating. Top notes of sparkling prosecco accord, pink peony, orange blossom. Mid notes of spring gardenia, peach nectar, water lily. Base notes of sueded patchouli, cashmere musk, vanilla cream.>>

Well, I get peony and orange blossom, followed by gardenia and maybe a slight peachiness. This stuff never achieves dry down on me and there is no patchouli in it. It gets stuck on orange blossom and gardenia. But I LOVE IT. Fairy Dust is my Saturday scent. I can spray it on and smell it all day. It even makes my dirty laundry smell good. It's not sweet at all: great on hot days.

Give it a fair shake and stop judging it based on the Paris Hilton character.

inc0rporeal

Right idea, wrong execution. I agree that it smells like a cheaper Juicy Couture. The most dominant notes for me are peach, gardenia, patchouli and vanilla. A little flat and linear. Can't decide whether or not I like it. Sometimes I think it smells dated, sometimes I see what it's trying to be and it's not so bad. I've never worn it out in public because years later, I still don't know what to think about it.

My advice would be try before you buy. Or if you're a blind buyer like myself, go with a 30ml.

phunkyvida

I received this for free with a perfume purchase. Thankfully I only got 50ml. I get a linear note of gardenia, waterlily and jasmine.

I don't like it,this scent is very matronly and it would be suitable for an older lady.(60+) This is not my style.

MrsTefee

This is pretty much ALL gardenia and patchouli! Its stronggg stuff! Im actually more into sweet/gourmands so this is a little much for me. I would prefer it with more debth, more vanilla or amber or something..although my husband likes it haha. Its strong, its floral, its dirty...not bad but different. I absolutely love the bottle design with the fairy decoration! Its cute and subtle. Im not sure how often ill wear this but Ill keep it around, only spent $9 on it so why not :)

Erinbath22

I was very curious about how this smells because I like gardenia, but... for someone who reads reviews this one was looking pretty bad.
Well, I decided to be optimistic and try it. I have to say I understand both ends of the opinion spectrum here! This is very, very flowery. First, a heavy dose of peony and orange blossom which stayed light, sweet, and like a fairy town party. Ok.
Then the Queen Fairy shows up about 15 minutes later and she is a dark one. Heavy, musk, and loads of real gardenia that drowns the fairies is laid like a blanket over the whole thing and nobody is coming up for air here. She must be mad about something.
I love gardenia, but I need my gardenia to be able to breathe, I guess. I also like patchouli but didn't detect it so it must be blended in really well or just got smothered.
Sparkly party over, people. If heavy gardenia and musk is what you crave, this is it. I just am not enjoying this one right now. It reminds me of my experience with Diamonds and Emeralds, which was disappointing also. It is definitely a sample before buying perfume.

marlaina

I put that this reminds me of Gale Hayman Delicious Beverly Hills. It might seem totally like no at first but I just received both these perfumes today and realized they both have a similar thing about them did a comparison and I'm pretty sure what I'm smelling is the Gardenia and Patchouli because that's the only notes they have it common. but very significantly. Differences I sense is that Fairy Dust has strong musk (which I feel is a tiny bit tooo strong) and that peach note which is absolutely delightful, I wish it were stronger. I also wish the vanilla was a bit stronger too. I suppose one could layer this with a plain vanilla or peach fragrance;body spray, lotion or something.....
Fairy Dust is a Brittney Spears type of perfume. I call it the "hott sexy fun party girl smell". Perhaps one step below Victoria's Secret perfumes. I am glad that the fruit in this is peach. i really like that. I just got this perfume today so I need more bonding time with this. i will update it when able. :)

PerfumeKing14

i just bought another 100ml bottle of this stuff, its my Autumn/Winter fragrance along with Thierry Mugler Angel. for me this shines in the cold weather, it really goes a long way for me. it lasts 8+ hours & just smells amazing. the gardenia is the main note i get throughout this fragrance, with hints of patchouli coming through on the dry down. its really cheap to pick up i man i just got my 100ml bottle for £9 on eBay brand new so for the price its amazing.

mishko

I must say Fairy Dust is not as bad as some of the reviews say it is. I was expecting it to be a putrid perfume.

Instead I got a mature aroma more appropriate for a woman in her 40s and upwards.

However it does smell quite sythetic indeed.
To be fair I wouldn't mind at all if my mom wore it because contrarily to people saying it smells grandma-ish to me it evoked me more of a mama vibe.

zombieldehyde

Smells like old lady for me. Gives me headache! NONONONO and unfortunately for me, it lasts for awhile. Had colds just the day I wore this. :(

loisperfume

Im from the philippines and my friend from usa gave me this wonderful perfume. This one have a chemistry on my skin. When i used this one and sprayed it on my neck. I smell a wonderful scent. It reminds me of living in the province. Walking in the sunrise. This perfume is like ur alwYs in a summer day. Smells like sampaguita with the touch of little fruity.. The sillage and longevity are pretty good. When i sprayed it in my body. The scents exploding in the whole room. This fairy dust is a sister of JUICY COUTURE. BUT FAIRY DUST is more seductive n captivating..

Tiflangela

This is probably my all time favorite fragrance. It so pretty, delicate, and feminine. The gardenia speaks to my inner Southern Belle. The other notes play 'supporting character' roles to the gardenia star, and for a minute you might be swept away to an evening walk in a southern estate garden. That being said, this scent is not for everyone and just like any perfume it smells different on every body. My only complaint is the bottle design, and that is simply horrible. But I do hope you will see past that and give Fairy Dust a try.

Fragrance Review For Fairy Dust Paris Hilton

Top Notes Peony Orange Blossom

Middle Notes Gardenia Lotus Peach

Base Notes Patchouli Musk Vanilla

This appears to be the least favorite or least loved of the Paris Hilton fragrances even by so called Paris Hilton perfume lovers. I'm not a fan of this line and have only enjoyed my experience with Tease. Tease was full bodied, rich, summery, sweet and long lasting. It does have more in common with Fairy Dust than other PH frags. They both contain gardenia. This is very clearly a gardenia scent. The recreated gardenia white floral scent is assisted by the vanilla pairing. Vanilla's scent matches up with gardenia flower. This is what I mostly get it out of it a very mature white floral scent. It has other ingredients and notes that give it various moods: musky, aromatic (patchouli) fruity (peach, citrus) and floral (gardenia peony and lotus). It could have become an Oriental had there been other notes to go with patchouli like sandalwood or some woods. But this is a very simple fragrance. I think it's lovely and was very surprised by how good it actually was. This is missing so much of the airy sugar coated fruity floral trappings of other PH perfumes. It's a gorgeous gardenia, patchouli and vanilla. I don't see how it evokes a fairy, because this is very terrestrial and earthbound. This is a scent for grown up women who love white floral fragrances. It still has delicious peach and it can feel sophisticated and elegant. I would recommend this as a formal evening wear perfume for a date or for a formal event. This is affordable (cheap really) so if you're on a budget and love white floral scents, and you're comfortable with patchouli and musk, you should definitely check this out. A girlfriend of mine is taking this baby to her prom. Let's hope other people on the dance floor can appreciate it.

matillyrose

This is not Fairy Dust... Smells nothing like what I imagine Fairy Dust to smell like.

This is Fairy Farts... If Tinkerbell lived on a diet of Gardenias this is what she would smell like.

This would have to be my favourite Gardenia fragrance, it is gentle, a little bit shy but it is all Gardenia with the added sweetness of Peony.

Only lasts on the skin about 3 hours (I can still smell it on my clothes the next day though), the scent stays a true gardenia, this is no fading flower.

Absolutely Gorgeous, I am surprised by Paris Hilton's taste, she comes off as a pink girly girl but this is all woman.

like whoa yeah

The scent is very special two me it does somthing for my stress. It has the power to relax me ..before i even new that sleeping in perfume was something other people did.
i started two with this fragrance.
it can be over sprayed i say around 4 or 5 is good for me even less depending on how i feel.
It lasts very well on me and has a good non overpowering sillage..
I dont like to use it all the time just randomly here and there but i do love this stuff very much. I have all of paris scents this osnt my favorite Tease is ...but this white floral oarnge blossom scent is very good id it was made by a fashion house i could see this being like the new younger Chanel no5

astamm62

This fragrance has grown on me. I like it, but I don't love it. It doesn't smell like Juicy Couture to me,it smells more like the fragrance Candie's.

antigone26

I really dislike this perfume. Sickly, old lady and cheap smelling.

Southern Blonde

I don't know what it is about this fragrance. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I want to break the bottle. At the first spritz of Fairy Dust, I got a peach scent. I wish it was fresher more sparkling like actual fairy dust from Tinker Bell. It's a sweet and soft very soft opening. I think the vanilla is already there at the beginning. The peony is also clearly there and it's soft and shampoo-like. Very nice. But before long the fragrance turns into a mature, stronger white floral scent of lotus and gardenia. Gardenias usually smell like vanilla but this one is a gardenia that smells more graphic and real therefore unpleasant. It's strong and not as fruity-fresh as it was in the beginning. The fruitiness disappears really fast and you get stuck with an aquatic lotus (also for some reason smells and feels dry) and then you get lots of patchouli. This is a hideous patchouli, very green, very herbal. What was Paris Hilton on when she made this fragrance? This smells just a little bit like you're hallucinating about a Green Fairy think the Green Fairy Absinthe Scene in Moulin Rouge. This smells out of this world weird and although not nasty just nothing like I could have expected from the Paris Hilton fragrance line. This is the Paris Hilton version of Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights and I would still prefer to spritz on some Fancy Nights on me over this stuff. On certain cooler days the gardenia becomes pleasant and I can smell more peach and a hint of vanilla. The problem here is that the patchouli overwhelms everything else. Even in Fancy Nights you get enough vanilla to satisfy you. This is also a bit woodsy, a chypre perfume even though woods are not listed as being here. I think Paris Hilton had nothing to do with this fragrance other than model for it in that ridiculous fairy get up. Whoever created this formula should have put more vanilla, less patchouli, more peach, and perhaps even more fruits like a raspberry or mandarin orange. This needed more of that sweet fruitiness that her other perfumes had. It would have also been better if they had doused it with champagne notes which you find in her other frags like Paris Hilton Heiress and Dazzle. This fragrance needs help. I wear it only infrequently when I am sure the vanilla is showing up.

piggyluv

Really nice, the opening is pure prosecco with a hint of peach, like a Bellini! After, it's a lovely peony/ lotv on a soft musk/ patchouli base. Happy, fresh and feminine. Great longevity.

Suzybee

I got a few sample vials of this and it is way too heady. Too much floral and not enough of the other notes. It's too bad because I've really enjoyed Siren, Passport Paris, and Tease.

ChloeBentley

This scent did not work well with my chemistry at all...it smells rancid

sassy_shamrock

Another blind buy - but this one i should have left on the shelf. I was thinking with a name like Fairy Dust it would be a light sparkling girlie scent and instead it's a harsh in your face rotten flower smell. Definitely not good on my skin, I don't think I can even give this one away lol.

sravz

I got the samples and later make a purchase. It has strong Jasmine notes and but later Patchouli notes were dominating and made me uneasy. Gave it to my mom and she loves it. She keeps getting compliments for it. Haha :)

lindley

I'm always wary about posting really negative reviews, because every perfume seems to be someone's darling. But this smells to me like the little girl play perfumes I had as a little girl in the 1980s--cheap, synthetic and with a nasty plastic undertone. I waited to see if it would develop better, but it just faded away.

I really can't understand how someone who could afford the world's most expensive perfumes would let this come out under her name.

I like the bottle, though.

BooVaher

This was a blind buy for me. It was down to $5 a bottle and I can't resist a bargain. I am not a fan of Paris Hilton and never bothered testing her fragrances and of course, when this was on special there were no testers to be found.
I was initially disappointed, as on first spray all I could smell was fly spray!
Within a short time however this fragrance settled down to a mature white floral that I am really enjoying. Completely unexpected, I guess I thought, 'celeb scent, therefore sweet and sugary'. How wrong I was.
Longevity and sillage seem pretty good and I will stock up before I can no longer find it again.

VanillaTabbyCat1963

Although I am surprised that more people have not given Fairy Dust thumbs up, I completely understand why some people dislike it.

I have found that Fairy Dust can act as a chamelion on my skin. At times I get choked out by thestrongly everesscent opening that reacts like aldehydes on steroids, but I think is only how the bubbly Processo accord reacts.Speaking of which: What happened the Processo on the breakdown of notes??

That part clears fairly quickly, and what remains is the sweet tartness that reminds me of those sweet wine coolers that were so big back when I became of age. I didn't like being reminded constantly of being 19 again spilling wine coolers on my concert t-shirt on a booze cruize in Boston Harbour.

This scent plays your senses, at once smelling strongly chemical, while other times developing very beautifully. When that happens, the flowers take front center stage. Those are the times the fragrance smells fresh and summery and comforting. This is because thankfully, I don't get that musk an patchouli listed above...can't stand either!!!

I would give Fairy Dust a 3 out of 5. It is ahead of some of the big ticket department store offerings (That's you, Chloe Love Story, you chemical bomb).
It's that Paris Hilton did not market it to those who understand just because it is an aldehydic floral-does not make it "old-lady"

DeLinda

At initial spray, it reminds me of Heiress. Then it's just pure incense on me. Yuck!

nitschevo

I received a bunch of samples and this as well as Can Can is included in the mix. I honestly don't get all the dislikes. Granted I have a dab-on sample but still. This is a nicely done white floral with a little musk and fruit that is kind of reminiscent of Viva la Juicy but no clone. At least not to my nose. Fairy Dust is lighter and more playful. At the beginning it's also a little sweet but you're left with a light and airy gardenia that mingles a little with the other florals. I really like it and think that this as well as the first one, Just Me and Tease are rare treats in the celebrity perfume world.

heather.m.jenkinson

I bought this perfume because it was on offer at a discount shop, its was a blind purchase and to be honest I wasn't expecting too much from it BUT I love it! I even went back to purchase a second bottle.

When reading the notes I realized why. White Florals with Vanilla, these seem to be a recurring theme in my perfumes without my knowledge.

And I Love the Bottle, its not overdone.but prefer the inner packaging to the outer (that's my only criticism)

Midnitestar

I am a fairy collector, my first Fairy at the tender age of 5 of course was Tinkerbelle. I have collected Faeries from all over the world. So when I heard that Paris Hilton made a perfume called Fairy, I immediately went to buy it, alas to my surprise, it was a train wreck, the scents of the perfume just didn't mesh together for that surprise of a fairy. It was such a disappointment, it didn't even smell like a descent perfume. Two thumbs down.

Cocotea

As a child growing up in the eighties and nineties I voraciously read about fairies in books written by the one and only Enid Blyton. The impression I got was that they lived in forests and other green places. So I imagined this perfume would smell cool and green and earthy and a little sweet and maybe a little sparkly? It doesn't. Smells like any other nice perfume. But just nice. Not magical, not sparkly, not fairy-like. Bummer. With that being said, it's wearable. A little sweet, a little floral. It's ok.

rosagarcia163

This perfume smells EXACTLY like La vida loca ( A cheap dupe for viva la juicy found at big lots usually)I don't smell flowers, or anything that would be considered a natural element, it almost smells like aerosol if that makes any sense. It doesn't smell offensive so I cant say I don't like it, its more like I am trying to figure it out. The Paris Hilton perfume line has a lot better perfumes to choose from so if you are going to experiement with her fragrences don't make this one your first choice. I also want to say I am disappointed with the bottle, usually less is more, but in this case this perfume bottle looks like something that would come from one of the Disney princess and looks a little more mermaid like then anything like a fairy. I am probly going to wear this perfume if I am going out to a club its a perfume I wouldn't mind using up for those nights out where I want to smell good but don't care about wasting the perfume

sueshow

The gardenia is really strong in this, sadly it just smells too generic to me.
UPDATE: This smell is growing on me a little.

Ellamay

While that video to the right of the bottle is about the cheesiest thing I've ever seen, the perfume itself is surprisingly nice. I almost hate to admit it, but it smells lovely and lasts a long while. The early dry-down was soft, clean, and still quite potent. After about six hours, it developed some sharpness, but nothing unforgivable. I don't really agree with the comparisons to Juicy Couture; that scent is much more melony-sweet than this one IMO. Fairy Dust, with its peony, is more reminiscent of Stella minus the roses. If only it wasn't called Fairy Dust...

astarose

I like paris hilton and Iloove Fairy Dust. A little tuberose and applelike smell. Its lasting with good sillage. My favourite fragrance.

Fragrance_Lily

I am 25 years old and I love this perfume. It smells classy and sophisticated (NOT "old lady"), and it smells much more expensive than it is. This fragrance works so well with my body chemistry since it becomes very sweet and floral on my skin.

It is not for everyone, but I can definitely see myself wearing this more often for professional meetings and while I teach.

vattenmelon

this is unlike all her other perfumes who are sweet and girly. this is a very old lady kind of scent! i dont think the smell is bad, but its definitly very very mature. dont know if i dare to use it if people around me thinks the same way.. it reminds me a little bit of vanderbilt by gloria vanderbilt, just lighter.

rhaineclayton

I got sucked in by the $5 price tag.
On first spray it does smell a bit synthetic, but then it settles to a nice white floral. That's the part where I decided to buy. Too bad it turned to insect repellant not long after. It does get better but it never really loses that bug spray scent completely.
Now I know why it was only $5...

Piscean-Blue

Was given a small bottle of this and decided to give it a whirl. I'll try to be as objective as possible (full disclosure: I would NEVER purchase anything of Paris Hilton's on my own, even if was a "good" product, just out of principle).

It's... okay. The opening is really harsh, weird and synthetic, as others here have noted. But (I grudgingly admit) it does settle down into a decent floral. When I say "decent", that's what I mean. Just decent. This will not knock your socks off (unless it works really well with your body chemistry). As a matter of fact it's pretty banal and dime-a-dozen smelling. Oh, and it's weak (what a shocker). Crappy longevity and sillage, unless you spray a ton on (this "fairy dust" is elusive).

So even though it's not horrible and reasonably priced, there are still much better choices you can make for your money (about 20 bucks for a 3.4 ounce). Look into the Elizabeth Arden fragrances, which are underrated IMO. Or even Ellen Tracy's stuff. I recommend staying away from this unless you see it on sale for REALLY cheap at a Marshalls or Ross.

kristi.cathcart1

This is the best smelling perfume I own. I paid 7.49 for a 1 oz. bottle. It was a blind buy, I figured I would give it to my teenage daughter if I didn't like it but I LOVE it! I just spent 75.00 on a bottle of Giorgio Armani Si, and although I really like Si, my Fairy Dust has better longevity and a dreamy intoxicating smell that my hubby loves-and he rarely notices my perfume. I am anxious to try Paris Hilton's other perfumes, as for people comparing it to JC, I don't smell it at all. I think JC smells cheap and common. I wear what I think smells the best, I don't care who makes it or what it costs. I can't believe how pretentious some people are. I have no problem being honest with people about what perfume I'm wearing.

davitea

Like most of you I wouldn't even give a chance to a Miss Hilton's perfume. Of course I am prejudiced by the image of her personality given by the media: partying, spoiled, rich heiress with no obvious talents...
But, it came in a big bunch of samples that I bought and this one was the most pleasant surprise, even though there were few niche samples in the group.

Obviously this works great with my body chemistry.
It does smell white floral, but to my nose it is mostly like white lily, and it reminds me a little of my teenage years love Anais Anais, or even one of the lily fragrances I like now Lys Fume. OK, OK it so not so complex, or creamy,or beautiful, but it is decent floral that smells very natural to me, as opposed to all the "synthetic" comments most of you made.
I don't need to buy a bottle but I can appreciate this, and I think more people would if they do blind testing and disassociate it from the notorious girl.
It smells more expensive then it is and it's perfect for spring.

tsohappiness

This is a great fragrance! The box looks a bit cheap but the bottle is lovely and looks great on a vintage dresser! The scent is a very stick floral scent which is a bit like marmite - either you love it or hate it! I love it, it's great during the hot spring days when your just having a casual day! it is quite a mature scent however so i would defo reccomend smelling it first!

I got mine from BodyCare in the UK for £7.99

Silvercat151

I work part time in a perfume store. I also am a redhead and my skin chemistry makes many fragrances, (that I have liked out of the bottle on paper then tested on myself), smell awful on me after a few minutes, which has been very disappointing, and means my choices are very limited as a result. I don't like the cult of personality for the sake of it, and I resisted this because it was a personality fragrance and cheap too, and I didn't expect it to be nice. However, soon after starting work at the store I decided to ignore names and prices in an effort to find some more options that I can wear, and just think about what I was smelling rather than names and prices.

Well, WOW!!!! Was I pleasantly surprised by this fragrance! In fact, every time I put this on, I'm still shocked at how lovely this smells on me. It's beautiful, warm, sensuous, rich and happy, and evokes a wonderful feeling of well being in me - which is, after all, one of the main reasons we buy fragrances. It's far nicer than Juicy Couture which it has been compared to here occasionally, and at a fraction of the price. Being so inexpensive I can really spray it on and enjoy this every day and night - it works at all times for me, and gets great compliments too.

Just an FYI, and no comparison, but my other absolute favourites that I have tried in the store that don't change into something ghastly with my skin chemistry are Bvlgari Omnia Coral, and several of the Burberry fragrances like Body, Touch, Brit and Burberry signature fragrance. This is nothing like Coral, but I see this having the same rich, sensuous palette as Burberry Brit for example. Other than wearing perfumes, I often wear my own mix of perfume oils like patchouli, neroli and rose, or frankincense and myrrh. I can trust perfume oils to behave themselves with my skin chemistry.

Crystallight

Received it as a gift a few years ago, wasn't interested in using it, decided to wear it one day and surprisingly got tons of compliments from both men and women.

Lucky7z

Fairy Dust is my least favorite....the gardenia, white floral, musk scent on me isn't bad its just not a scent I care for and my husband hates it lol

Only nice thing is that once it dries down after applying the scent its a light musky floral and the gardenia scent isn't as strong on me and it has good staying power.

anitaoolong

This one brings a smile to my face. The one has personality - from the retro-styled bottle and lid design to the perfume itself. It's late spring here in Melbourne and I've worn this every day for the last few days and have enjoyed it more each time.

The gardenia in Fairy Dust appeals to me because it seems green and fresh, just like the bush in bloom in my backyard right now.

Fairy Dust has a touch of fruity sweetness from the peach nectar but it's subtle and blends with the lush gardenia to keep it light and sparkling. This feels like a classic floral and it's lovely for spring. Lasts quite well with a medium projection.

perfumemad62

I'll admit, the first hour of Fairy Dust is loud, synthetic and harsh but thankfully it settles to a pleasant musky sweet floral.

It has moderate lasting power and sillage. I think it is a good fragrance for the price and Paris has created a great line of perfumes. I feel this is more of a cold weather scent as I think it would be too heavy for the heat.

Overall, a nice floral which needs perseverance. The drydown is the best part. Not my favourite Paris perfume but if your budget is very limited, I would certainly give this one a chance!

greengrl

I will admit that I did not like this at first but I eventually warmed up to it. This was a blind buy that I got for such a good price and I couldn't resist. It starts of with a blast of gardenia & a hint of musk. The peony let's its presence be known a few minutes in. They dry down is full of musky, white floral goodness.

Word of advice: don't be swayed by the initial punch, give it time to settle.

tyekristopher

I think a lot of people don't give fairy dust a fair shot or try, I agree it smells a bit harsh coming off the bottle directly and might smell a little intense when first applied but I swear if you have the right chemistry you can make this work, I had worn this in the past and recently came across it again so I purchased it again, I find it does wear well and the people around me seemed to enjoy it so It was a win for me. It works for me. I wouldn't say it was my favorite paris hilton fragrance but it isn't bad to me, I don't reach for it as much as I do for siren, paris hilton classic,or heiress or even can can, I do love all of paris hilton's perfumes there isn't one I don't like, girl has good taste in perfume.

aztzura

I found this on clearance at Ross. I really don't like this fragrance. The blast of white floral is so strong and overpowering. It was still strong even after the dry down. I couldn't make out any other scents. I had to return the bottle.

indi3cita

I don't like Paris I'm not fan of her. I think she is a superficial and kind of arrogant but I bought this fragrance because I really liked the mini bottles (0.25oz) for my collection. This and Siren are the only mini fragrance I own (of her)and I'm not interested on buying other fragrances of hers. I love florals but this fragrance is too heavy and synthetic for my liking. The drydown is not bad but unfortunately the opening is too heavy and gives me a headache. Thank God I bought the mini version of it for my collection and I bought it because I liked the bottle. Not a repurchase for me.

erica5574

I think this perfume is bad. it would be alright for people who are not into the sweet smelling perfume, and are rather into the flower smelling perfumes. I would recommend this to more mature people

kaejuntun

I decided to give Fairy Dust a try despite the landslide of negative votes. Like most of my perfumes, this was a blind buy.

I have to say I don't get even a little bit of gardenia from Fairy Dust. In fact I had a hard time distingushing even one distinct floral note other than peony. There was a super harsh, synthetic undertone throughout the first hour that I wore Fairy Dust if I put my nose directly up to my wrist, but from a distance I didn't feel bothered by it at all. I don't get the musk, but I can be anosmic to musks in fragrances sometimes so that definitely doesn't mean it's not there.

To me the drydown of Fairy Dust has been the best part. It is a gentle, muted patchouli with just a memory of the floral top and middle notes and a slightly juicy peachiness. If you are not a fan of patchouli you may not like Fairy Dust, but the patch here isn't a sillage monster. In fact towards the end FD is very close to the skin, no real sillage to speak of.

I don't mind Fairy Dust at all. I also don't find this to be a granny fragrance in the slightest. It is different from Paris's other fruity and largely unremarkable fruity fragrances (Tease being a notable exception).

angelleew

This packs a pink peony punch, on me. It also starts out with a very vinyl blast. At first spray, I hated it...but I got it on eBay, and realized that it came out of the bottle a little too quickly to really be "unused". I got a paper towel and sprayed 6 more times before giving this fragrance another try. It still opens with the peony-vinyl 1,2 punch...but no longer does the peony smell sour and strong, and less than 3 minutes later and the vinyl is gone. What I get next is similar to Very Hollywood Sparkling: a grapefruit citrus and floral smell, but this has the addition of something warm and sensual...I think it is the orange blossom and peach nectar and then the dry-down. So 3 to 6 hours of something warmer than VHS, then a vanilla musky warmth with a hint of peony on the dry down. I have no idea where the peony goes or why it comes back, but the return is subtle. The dry-down is so unlike Juicy Couture and Sparkling that you REALLY need to test this one. I had to try it several times and went from loathe to love. I don't usually give a scent this many tries, but the seasons are changing, and so is my body chemistry... so I thought, why not? It still surprises me with how long it takes to progress, and the main issue seems to be temperature, and very possibly, the age of the liquid. I have an older bottle, so I may buy a newer bottle and smell what happens. As it stands, I am pleasantly surprised. The scent starts out offensive, turns brilliant in minutes and lasts for hours, then sweetens and softens in the drydown. It may be similar to two others, but its progression is unique. She is definitely going into the rotation!

***Yes, Gardenia is here--but the flower which normally is a powerhouse with my chemistry has been somehow overcome by the pink peony. AND the pink peony smells just like a pink peony on the stem, but not fresh cut...one that has bloomed on the bush, like your standing in the garden next to it on a summer day.

EDIT: The closer it is to actually being a WARM spring, and this fragrance is more beautiful than I could imagine. I guess it just really works with my body chemistry. So--I sprayed this on with 2 squirts at 7:30am, and at 8:30 pm I was told that it smelled really delicious. 13 HOURS later, it had become a skin scent, and I could barely detect it, but others could. WOW. And personally-- who cares if you don't like the person who's name is on the label? [and splashed scantily clad on the box...] Paris, or whomever she hired, came up with a pretty, unique scent, that lasts [with my body chemistry], and is beyond reasonably priced. This is a gem. The bottle is simple, the fragrance is gorgeous, give it a chance.

Halikbaby

I just bought Fairy Dust smell unknown just because I like the whole Fairy idea. For the $10.00 I paid for it, I am happy. The top notes are as stated and then it dries down to a musky gardenia scent(on me). Key word here being ~on me~.
I don't understand all the negativity about the fragrance or Paris Hilton. If you don't like her or her perfume, don't say anything at all. Simply state that you don't like it because it smells like such and such on you and you simply don't prefer it!
I typically do not care for artificial gardenia smells but incorporated with the other scents, it works!
The bottle is simple but attractive and I really like the frosted fairy on the front. Each to their own and no negativity...Geez, it's perfume for G-d's sake!

peachypixie

I'm wearing this right now, and I just love it more and more. I think if you're expecting something sweet, fruity, and fizzy, try Dazzle or Heiress. This perfume is strongly weighted with white florals, but I like it. i don't get any peach or vanilla. Patch is very mild but lends staying power.

It's so cheap, too. More for me!

iam2sexy4uris

I think Paris should of stopped after the first one, everything after the first one was a total flop. If she was in the business of air fresheners then I totally see why she keeps producing them, but somehow she is trying to pass them as body fragrance and I'm not sure how I feel about that. If I say that every body spray she's created after the first one was just Blah, that would be a HUGE HUGE compliment.

Sayyy

Awful, just awful. I cannot imagine anyone under 60 wearing this.

naaym.agecra

Ohh... I can see now why I didn't like this perfume. It's the "Patchouli" which always make me feel sick in any perfumes. Can't stand that note. x_x

Beckylynn8881

Don't understand all the dislikes for this scent. I think it does smell a lot like Juicy Couture but more musky and less floral. My only complaint is the staying power. Juicy Couture lasts all day on me but Fairy Dust last a mere 2-3 hours.

mad.kat.96

opens a bit fresh & flirty but quicky becomes a heavy heavy gardenia.. I like gardenia but this is too much, almost oily, can see the comparison to b.o. also. Very dark and could put me in a 'depression' mood.. I personally do not get any other notes but the gardenia, they may be there but totally overwhelmed. Projection was only a couple inches above the skin. Lasted about 4-5 hours on me.
---------

I can wear it much easier if I apply it very lightly and then layer with Elizabeth Taylors Diamonds & Sapphires.. Very lovely combination.

My bottle, brand new, is also very yellow, usually that is caused by the vanilla and usually doesnt affect the scent.

Tine1world

What makes you think she made the fragrance?

I fathom a personality ascribes a signature to product. Rationale being?

This reminds me of a lighter version of Estee's 'Youth Dew'. Sometimes, but not always a hint of a dirty V Gina. Yet sometimes.

It's not cheap at all. As for Paris H her projected image has somewhat been tarnished. Mostly to her advantage.

What's this old lady crap?

You'll all be old ladies and gent's one day too, if you get to live long enough. After all accidents do Happen!
Disease and just plain life.

This isn't too bad. Like I mentioned in my 'Heiress' review.

I smell cinnamon and geraniums. This an acceptable and some what complex fragrance that has staying power and subtleness. Not at first whiff though, but soon after it settles. Quite nicely. Lot's bang, colloquially speaking for one's buck.

Your children's children will want a bottle.

Cheers T.

MadeiraD

This stuff smells very floral and pleasant to me, a very delicate peony and lily of the valley sort of a scent, and on me the longevity is insane, I can put some on in the morning, go all day, and I'll still smell it on my wrists the next morning.

It also to me smells pleasantly different from other fruitier celebrity scents.

anakay44

I received this as a gift once and I really don't like it. Very cat pee-ish to me. If anybody wants it it is a full bottle. I will sell it for cheap or swap. I don't want it to go to waste. I do think it smells like Juicy Couture by Juicy Couture

Perfume_Lover85

Naaym.agecra, my liquid in this is yellow, it always has been :)

naaym.agecra

Hmmm... I just got this perfume on blind buy at ROSS and the liquid is dark yellow. What is it supposed to be? light or dark yellow?

burynai16

I bought This because I loved the original juicy couture, but it was too expensive. This one is really cheap and it does smell similar enough for me to replace the original juicy. But I feel like the juicy couture is more complicated (in a good way) and this one kinda smells cheap. BUT! I'm loving it for the price and it's similarity to juicy. I wouldn't recommend this for its own merit.

Edit:
Ok.....So i've worn this for quite a bit now, since i really loved it in the beginning. But, it's been about a month since i've bought it, and lately i've been smelling crayon. This perfume is borderline peach-gardenia and crayon! I warn future buyers....this might smell good in the beginning, but it goes bad pretty quickly and i smell crayon sometimes! sad. I should just stop trying and buy the original juicy couture. And to the above commenter: no, the liquid should not be yellow. you've got a bad one.

Perfume_Lover85

This was a blind buy for me when I was on holiday in Florida, I got the 100ml bottle and when I opened it I was surprised by being hit with heavy floral notes at first. I already owned Paris Hilton, Heiress and Can Can so I was sort of expecting this one to be a sweet candy/fruity fragrance. Being a lover of sweet scents I wasn't fond of this at first but it has grown on me. I read reviews that it smelt exactly like the original Juicy Couture, after testing JC I have to agree it does smell just like it. Fairydust is a strong fragrance and has great lasting power on me, I only have a little left but when I'm done I won't be buying it again, great for heavy floral lovers but I just belong in the sweet scent group too much! :)

CycoEva

I'm working my way through a small bottle of this, I don't like it. Its not terrible, but for now I'm using it as room spray/air freshener. Crisp/musky/gardenia/straight up "damn that's a HEAVY perfume" with a hint of Juicy Couture and White Diamonds.

soniamcalear

Don't expect this to last more than one hour!!!! CAUSE THATS ALL YOU GET WITH THIS ONE.

Joaenr32193

Not really satisfied with this perfume. Smells exactly like juicy couture juicy couture but only it is more stronger and long lasting!!!!!

chuwey

Just got my bottle and i must say, its quite heavy gardenia & musk but i cant stop sniffing it on my wrist..
Sweet flowery scent.. Agree to the sickly floral scent. But since i kind of a sick person that love floral scent, i dont mind at all. :D
Love it and would buy it again..

sadblossom

Too musky. I can't.

chillalot

Fairy dust smells very nice....i would even say I kinda of love it...so why is it not on my shelf..The Bottle..so ugly and juvenile. I can't...I just can't

Karineabdel

Lakambini

Something in this perfume calls to me. I previously owned 10ml of it, which I used up in record time. It's all about the loud, synthetic gardenia in combination with sweet fruits, and has a mothball note which seems to be the result of the melding of certain floral-smelling laboratory compounds. Putting it on would be like sinking into a relaxing conversation with a loose girl you knew in high school, who's still wearing mini skirts and platform sneakers after all these years and all those husbands and babies. It's not "bad-girl," just slutty, and I like it for that. For reasons known only to him, my husband likes it on me!

Shimone

I find that Fairy Dust smells like a fragrance that my grandmother wore, Cassini....she occasionally wore Cassini on Sundays to church and on her I loved it;it smelled divine! With that being said I immediately loved Fairy Dust because it brought back childhood memories and Im so glad I purchased this!

Thomasania

I do not look at celeb perfumes as inferior, and as a result of that mind set I have quite a few of them in my wardrobe. I bought Fairy Dust from fragrance.net for less than ten dollars. I was hoping for something wearable, but I had minimal expectations. I sprayed it and realized that I actually liked it a lot more than I anticipated. Maybe it is because it has that "old lady" vibe to it that others mentioned in their reviews. I do not know nor do I particularly care if it old ladyish or teenagers-ish. I find it quite nice, cozy and wearable. The sillage is moderate and it last for at least four hours on my skin, and for ten bucks that is fairly remarkable. For me the floral notes are well blended with the patchouli and it has a loud opening but a smooth and quiter dry down. I may not buy a back up bottle but I will definitely enjoy this one. .

asher.jessie

I still have no idea why everyone hates this so much! I own all of Paris Hilton's perfumes, and I dearly love her since meeting her back in 2008 showed me how sweet and human she is. I find her fragrances to be incredibly top-notch since they provide complex, unique arrangements of notes for fabulous prices. Aside from Dazzle, you could probably find a 3.4oz of any of her fragrances for less than $30.

Fairy Dust is one of those fragrances I bought for the collection, but I always forget about it when I"m choosing a fragrance to wear...today was a very warm, humid, rainy day where I live, and after getting drenched in a thunder-storm, I needed to reapply to enjoy a nice, cozy evening at home.

For some reason, I reached for Fairy Dust and doused myself with it since I have such a huge, unused bottle...and wow, I really don't know how I could forget about this one! Everyone screams about how generic it is, but I really don't see how this could be considered "generic" since everything out these days smells like chocolate, lollipops, and cotton candy.

This isn't just a white floral...there's something a bit deeper under there that makes this truly beautiful. Don't get me wrong, gardenia is truly the queen of this fragrance, dominating it from start to finish..but the musk and the patchouli creates this beautiful, powdery sheen to the gardenia. My favorite aspect of this fragrance is how the peach really makes this sparkling and fairy-esque, by giving a slight, juicy tinge to it that strikes the nose every now and then, which is reminiscent of high-end nail-polish to me.

This is a beautiful, underrated perfume, and it's a shame to see so much hate for it. You have to take it for what it's worth. Paris isn't known for producing masterpieces, so why is everyone holding her line to that standard? Appreciate this fragrance for what it is: A fresh, powdery, fizzy, sparkling gardenia perfume that lasts three to five hours with mid-length sillage.

mariana.alvarado25

I don't love this perfume but I don't hate it; I bought another perfume and this was a free gift with purchase, otherwise I think it woudn't be on my hands, I hate it at first and thought it smelled cheap, but after a while I gave it a chance and like I said, it's not a bad fragrance, but definately there are better perfumes out there,it's way too floral and powdery for me and sometimes I feel like it turns into an old lady kind of scent... I heard it has sparkling wine on it, maybe that's where the particular scent comes from. On the other hand the lasting power is quite nice, it lasts at least 8 hours on my skin.

bobo1

It's all about orange blossom (not neroli) to me.
Never gives me headaches; even if I already have one I find the scent calming. I wear it only at home and quite often. I don't care about PH and her picture on the box as a fairy seems ridiculous to me.

VanillaTabbyCat1963

I really don't understand why Fairy Dust isn't loved by more perfume fans. The formula really isn't bad, No cat pee or other kinds of pussy cat odors. Paris Hilton's name is on it is all that needs to happen to turn many noses.

Fairy Dust is strictly a summertime scent. The Processo is bright and sparkles and next the peony blooms. The florals are true. They smell like the first party of the season getting underway at your beachouse on Cape Cod. The warm sunny breeze mingles the scent of sparkling punch with the flowers blooming on your back deck.
All of a sudden, lotus fills the air. I dream of finally traveling to Cambodia.
Last summer experimented layering it with Yves Rocher Monoi Eau des Vahines, and I created the scent of paradise.. A compliment magnet. As with any fragrance with less than long-lasting longevity, I wish a few spritzes would last all day. Sexy, giddy and youthful!

Coconutmusk

I got this while I was out bargain hunting. It was a last minute "why not?". The moment I sprayed it, I could have sworn my grandma was there. To me this smells exactly like her old perfume Enjoli by Revlon. It's not my cup of tea so I'm mailing it to her. It smells just like a nondescript white floral. Nothing special nothing different.

bailarina

This perfume smells just like Juicy Couture, but Juicy Couture is a bit sweeter, and better blended. I have both...well, in case I don't want to use the more expensive one, I just use Fairy Dust. Juicy Couture evolves while this one stays almost the same the whole time.
Anyways, Fairy Dust has an incredible sillage for the price and it lasts forever. It smells good in small quantities, but it bothers me if use too liberally.

Patu

This perfume surprised me. I love love love Chanel Cristalle so much and since it has been discontinued I have been apprehensive about paying $100 - $285 per ounce, depending on the seller. This perfume is my replacement for Chanel. I love it. It fades so pretty on me, just like Chanel did. I lasts ALL DAY and it is perfume not toilette. I never thought I would like anything Paris Hilton because all her stuff ends up at ROSS. The bottle is cheap looking but I don't care because no one sees the bottle they smell me. I am just glad it doesn't smell like that cheap perfume Sunflowers and/or that God awful vanilla scent that became popular that smells like a stripper (according to my brother). It works for me.

Sweetnsexy

Love this fragrance! Smells just like the original Juicy Couture. Great for a night out.

Berlynn

I tried this today, and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It went on strong, and dried into a very sharp gardenia note that lingers on. If I were a fan of Gardenia then I would probably like it more. However gardenia sours on me so it was not very agreeable.

Louise Graves

I love this perfume. It was a blind buy. No sample bottle in the shop. I've resisted buying Paris Hilton frags but the name Fairy Dust intrigued me. What a wonderful surprise when I sprayed it on. A beautiful burst of orange blossom yes strong and sweet but it settles very quickly to gardenia. I love anything gardenia. It reminds me of hot heady nights. I was definitely sold. The patchouli is gentle. This is a fantastic buy to add to my frag collection. Who knows I might even buy another Paris Hilton frag. I have read good things about Siren. Any thoughts from anyone?

jessdbarnett

smells exactly like the original juicy but not as strong.

Elouelou

What a disgusting perfume. I would have felt this way even if I had smelt this blindly, not knowing it was by Paris Hilton.

It was so overwhelming sweet; I felt like I was being suffocated by powdery musk sticks. I could not discern any floral notes beyond the all encompassing sweetness.

In all fairness, the weather is very hot and humid where I am at the moment which probably enhanced the cloyingness. It is definitely not a summer fragrance.

I can imagine it being a scent young girls might like.

jjjjjjbm

Not to sound too much of a cynic, but I hate this perfume and everything about it. I think I'm going to chalk it up to bad chemistry with my skin or my dislike for certain notes because if everyone smelt it the way I do, noone would ever buy it and it would be used to scent glad trashbags. Too far? Maybe.

The gardenia is cloying and obtrusive. My nose is trying to recover and I can't seem to find any patchouli or basically anything not found in Windex. Sorry Paris, I don't think fragrance is your thing. Maybe stick to your reality show "Paris Hiltons Next BFF", oh wait I hate that too.

mark.anderson

I bought this blind, over the counter for my wife. It was going so cheap, I couldn't say no. Turns out my Wife loves it. She's had so many friends and colleagues turn to her and compliment her on the fragrance. Whats interesting for me, is that very few perfumes hold on her. Fairy Dust is her current favourite. I like it too.

Alexandros98

i just got the sample of this perfume and the smell so terrible.

celebrity89

Aside from Siren, my fave of her perfumes, this one is second best. I find this one sunny and bright. It has a strong green note of celery that brings to mind an aspect of the vintage Miss Dior. As others have mentioned, it is a dead ringer for Juicy Couture.

nightcat23

I like most of Paris Hilton's perfumes, they're very sweet, fun and girly however I dislike this. To me, it's got the "cat-pee" smell to it, I think it's because it's got white florals in it and I'm not a big fan of white florals at all.

stardust808

i don't get "old lady" smell from this.....? i'm actually confused by alot of these reviews because my bottle is crisp smelling and the scent is cheery-no old smell no cat piss smell. makes me wonder where others are purchasing their bottles from because the bottles could be bad. ruined from harsh lights, heat or just plain old from sitting in a warehouse somewhere because i wear this frag and its actually really nice. i've had tons of compliments and men even follow me through stores to tell me i smell good so don't shy away from this perfume. try it for yourself- you may just like it!

amy1983

It's intoxicating. Addictive. I love the whole Fairy Dust concept. At first,I saw the ad in a magazine, and something about it intrigued me. It smells magical. I can't pick out the notes exactly,it just all comes together, beautifully. I have had many bottles of this since it came out. It even came with a cool watch at first. I would love to get my hands on that mirror! I love the bottle. The blue accents on the bottle are fairy dust blue. If I could imagine what fairy dust would smell like this would be it.

alexandra.lomaswoolmore

The first time I put it on my skin was three years ago when I went on vacation. I just loved it, and my mom (that barely never likes a fragrance) loved it too!
The bottle doesn't matter, what's important is the content of it, it's like a book (btw I love reading) I don't judge it by its front, I judge it till I read it... Personally, I carried a Britney Spears perfume in my suitcase, but I decided to buy "Fairy dust" because it really suited on me and everyone around me liked the scent. And it surely has a lasting power! I put it on me during the night, and in the plane you could still smell it, and when I arrived to the airport, there was the scent! (8 hours trip) Beach plus a nice aroma = Amazing vacations :)

I truly recommend you all to go to a store to first smell it, there are many people who dislike it, but, there are a few (including me) who love it.

rachel.bowman.503

I absolutly LOVE this smell!!!!! It smells like....i don't know but it smells good!

iLoVeTHe80s87

This is BY FAR the WORST smelling perfume I've ever owned, and one of the worst I've ever sniffed. It smells like powdery old lady. I like two of Paris' other perfumes, and this was like $5 somewhere so I bought it. Ugh! The first 3 minutes (literally) are okay, but then it just smells like an old person's perfume that has lost its original scent because they've had it for so long. Yuck. It's just ENTIRELY too over-loaded with white florals and musk... and I can't stand patchouli, so that doesn't help matters either.

And now after reading other people's reviews, I realized that it does remind me of Juicy Couture, and coincidently, that's another one on my top "worse smelling perfumes ever" list.

Enchanted_98

I was surprised what the other review had to say about this, because i love this and it goes well on my skin. I suggest that you should try it on your skin before buying it because it may vary from one skin to another. :)
Personally, loved it.

purrz11

I found this on sale for $7 so I thought what the heck, I'll try it. It starts out harmless enough, just run of the mill heavy gardenia. THEN, after about a half hour, I started smelling something strange. I took a big whiff off my wrist and sure enough...CAT PEE! No way I'm wearing this again.

NativeBabi916Lady

I was given a 3.5 bottle of this as a gift.
On my skin it is has a slight floral , slight vanilla , and VERY CITRUSY sent! Its oddly citrusy...I wish there was a little more floral on my skin and Im really disapointed no peach shows up. Its still a nice sent on paper but sadly not very great on my skin.

♥Love4Fragrance♥

After reading some interesting reviews of this perfume, I've decided to get a bottle myself to see if I would like it. Turns out I did. The fragrance starts out being very plain with fruity-floral notes, but then it laters the scent becomes more of a sensual sexy smell after it faints away on your body.

loonad

i bought the gift set of this perfume as i am very fond of passport to paris and can can and that my sister likes siren.this one is not well-made.it lacks that special quality to make me love it.the shower gel is very good and so is the sparkling body lotion but the perfume itself is not very memorable.

pynkgirl

Horrible to my nose! Old maple syrup or something!

Aspendina

I love this very much its floral but u know how things can smell pink? well this one to me smells....purple; if that makes sense. like a floral/grape kool-aid or something. I think this is going on my wish list

Edit: I should also say that at first blast it smelt like dishsoap, but then got lovely shortly after.

ChristineR92

No no no this is just a major fail. This perfume smells spicy, sweet, musky, floral, and like dust/dirt. The bottle is also not cute.

icingsugar

I didnt like it when I first got it, but now over a year later I love the opening its so interesting with its alcohol note. I dont wear this much but I do like it sometimes, best for hot days when you need something crisp and floral.

Jennifer555

Not the best and not the worst. It is just ordinary. I like this the least out of all Paris' scents. It is a basic floral and not that exciting. It is actually too strong to the point of nauseating at times. I wouldn't purchase it again, but I will use up what I do have, probably just to the market but no where fancy for sure.

Hello from new zealand!

I like some of P Hiltons fragrances.. but not this one.
The bottle looks like a kids perfume and the scent that comes out of it smells like the kids grandmother.

I wore it and it felt like i aged 31years. It reminds me of a woman in her 50's who still socializes likes a white wine and a smoke. likes gold bangles and deep crimson nail polish. she is a happy well behaved woman though.. lol i know my reviews will be a little weird.. but everytime i smell a perfume i visualize to determine its:

best season- autumn/winter
day/night- night
the age of the woman who wears it- in her 50's
the persona of the woman who wears it- well behaved socialite

Ingrids

I love floral perfumes and that´s why I bought this one. I tried Paris Hilton (2004) and Heiress, liked them a lot.
I smelled Fairy Dust before i bought it, but didn't spray it on my skin: Big mistake.
This perfume is purely floral - musky, I didn't notice any peach at all. When I wore it, it was totally strong, heavy... couldn't stand it. One hour later, I smelled my wrist again, and it was like magic... settled down fantastic!! really felt the flowers in all its expression, a powdery pleasant smell :) Guess it's the patchuoli. So, although the longer it stays on the nicer it smells, I won't be repurchasing it again.

fobia

Blind buy... this turned out to be nothing like what I had expected it to smell like! I have other Paris perfumes, and they are all mostly sweet fruity vanilla-y candy type smells.. I expected this one to just be more of the same. I was really surprised to find that fairy dust was a floral! That threw me off for a bit. It's a decent scent though. I wouldn't wear it every day but it's a nice one if you like gardenias and white florals.
