The Huawei P9 is fueled by the Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core SoC, which is Huawei’s homegrown SoC, and quite a powerful chip. That being said, the P9 has been benchmarked on Geekbench, and it offers more than a decent performance. If you take a look at the images down below, you’ll notice that the Kirin 955 managed to score 1,809 points in the single-core test, which essentially means that it scored more than MediaTek’s Helio X20 flagship SoC (1,790 points), but it can’t measure up to the Exynos 8890 (2,139 points) or the Snapdragon 820 (2,353 points). Now, as far as the multi-core score goes, the Kirin 955 hit 6,415 points, which is a significantly better score than the one Helio X20 managed to offer (4,483 points) despite the fact that SoC sports 10 cores. The Kirin 955 also beat the Snapdragon 820 SoC, Qualcomm’s chip scored 5,466 points in this test. The Exynos 8890 basically crushed everything out there by scoring 7,497 points.

The Huawei P9 sports a 5.2-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display, 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 32GB / 64GB of internal storage. The device is fueled by the aforementioned Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 3,000mAh battery is also a part of this package. Two 12-megapixel cameras are placed on the phone’s back, and have been developed in partnership with Leica, the company has high expectations for these shooters. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on this smartphone, and Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 4.1 is available on top of Google’s operating system. This smartphone also sports a fingerprint scanner on the back, and it is made out of metal.
