Usually a good place

Staff are great and friendly, products are mostly in stock and fairly easy to find. However, My B&Q Clubcard no longer works, i no longer get reciepts via email or the promised vouchers and customer services are not very good at resolving it, so it has become a waste of time to bother scanning it.

Ordering was simple

Ordering was simple, it was a very quick delivery and polite people who did the delivery. One fence panel obviously had been sat in water and was a little rotten at the top cross beam/ frame but I wasn't too concerned about it. Overall very good

Goods available, staff helpful, but no discount vouchers.

Everything we needed was available. Staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Just wish some of thier products that are not available to buy (clocks in kitchens) were still on display. And, although we have spent thousands of pounds recently don't seem to get any vouchers yet we see loads being printed for other people shopping for a lot less.

Shed

Purchased 7x6 shed from BandQ (Empire Sheds). I had done a lot of research before purchasing this shed. It was delivered on time and was updated throughout. The quality despite the price is on par if not better with the more expensive ones I had seen online. It went together easily with two people and only took 2/3 hours. Everything was supplied. Honestly, from my point of view given the price and quality you are not going to beat it.

Annabelle, Ann and Coleen-a credit to the store

The staff, Annabelle, Ann and Coleen at Riverside, Nottingham, went above and beyond today to help me to find, order and pay for purchases. They went running round the store to obtain bar codes, check availability, look for alternatives. Consequently, I obtained everything I needed and will be able to complete all of my DIY tasks. I can not thank them enough. They are real stars and I will definitely continue to shop at B&Q knowing I will be given first class treatment and support.

Culverhouse cross store

Culverhouse cross store. Do not let Darcy plan your kitchen, in fact stay away from the whole kitchen department and go somewhere else. From larder unit too tall for the ceiling, wrong worktop by one word ordered, appliances ordered by her recommendation not our preference. Luckily we noticed and amended before delivery. On delivery day worktops were delivered with blue markings obviously across. Back panels chipped and snapped in half. We did not accept and sent it back on the lorry. Today the electrician has arrived to do first fix and told us that the base units ordered do not match the measurements we have supplied(luckily I saved them) what a mess !!! DO NOT USE B AND Q CULVERHOUSE CROSS FOR A KITCHEN

Service none existent

I purchased Cooke & Lewis Santoro Toilet with soft close seat. It came without seat, I realise mistakes can happen but I called on 15th May, 20th May and 22nd May, each time I was promised a call back within 48 hours, as yet nothing. When I called on 22nd the lady really spoke down to me as if I was being impatient, when I asked to speak to her supervisor or the complaints department she directed me to the website. I have logged the complaint but no one has contacted me as yet. I wish I'd not bothered with B&Q, I won't be doing again.

It's always a pleasure shopping at Chesterfield B&Q. The staff are so knowledgeable and there is always a fantastic range of items. I always leave feeling confident to tackle the job I came in to buy stuff for.(purchase date is approximate )

Appalling Website unable to buy online

Trying to order a single item via B&Q’s appallingly bad website, what a nightmare. This item is unavailable in store so have no choice. Finally managed to get item into the basket but every time I click proceed to check out I get an error message something went wrong - please check your network! Why oh why do companies like B&Q ALWAYS BLAME THE CUSTOMER! My network is fine and working which is more than I can say for the pile of trash that is B&Q’s site. Unable to proceed with my purchase so have given up.

Disgusting service

Disgusting service, bought 3 wall shelves, of which on was faulty (when back sits flush to the wall, bottom is not horizontal outward - but the error is not at first obvious which threw us off). Because of the faulty one, we spent ages remeasuring where to place the shelves as we thought it was our fault, resulted in damages to walls due to moving wall plugs around, also waste of time. Customer assistant was less than empathetic. Just because they’re a big corporation think they can get away with not caring. This was B&Q Sears Mall Solihull.

Non delivery of garden parasolOrdered a garden parasol from b and q…

Ordered a garden parasol from b and q who were supplying item from MHStar UK on 11th May. Advised would receive goods between 15/16th May. Chased order up on the 18th subsequently told item lost in transit and advised could request a refund which I did.
Received two separate emails today one advising they have received the return of our item and have been refunded the second one sent one minute later stated reason for refund “customer changed mind”
When in fact reason was item not received and had no confidence in dealing with company sadly had to give a one star review which was the minimum not deserved

Garden centre staff soooooooooo…

Riverside B n Q. The Garden centre staff soooooooooo negative. Woman moaning loudly in front of customers,”I hate it when people don’t put things back where they belong! “ to which her manager replied, “I know”
Talk about making customers feel uncomfortable.
Disgusting and really spoils the otherwise lovely plants and browse.
Not the first time I’ve caught staff and male manager gossiping aloud. Poor! Poor! Poor! Come on B n Q. We are taking notice, we’re not deaf hence this review:(

I like BandQ generally

I like BandQ generally, in that it's convenient everything is in its place, did a sensible job of COVID shopping. All DIY is very pricey now especially paint, wood and garden stuff. Bought a kitchen recently the service was good. What irks me is going in to buy one wooden drawer handle and having to buy five, one metre of electric cable and having to buy ten. There a lot less people around to help and give reliable information. The pick and mix screws etc I used recently is a great idea. Always go to an independent ironmonger when practical.

Wonderful Janet at Halifax B & Q

Just want to say Janet at Halifax B and Q was incredible today. My partner is in the autistic spectrum and started to get upset about something we needed to exchange. Janet was so kind and understanding and sorted everything out for us.
Thank you

I ordered 3 bags of gravel on 10/5/24 and they haven’t arrived by 27th. I’ve messaged the seller, called customer service 3 times, and been told someone will call you back. Nobody has.
It’s very frustrating as customer service sounds like it’s in another country and although they say they I understand, it doesn’t feel like they do.
Terrible service!

Using the discount code

Using the discount code, £5 for over £25 spend, resulted in £0 reduction, the receipt barely legable, spoke with an assistant, who said yes Code is there for £5 reduction.
I then pointed out that when items added up, the total was 35.20 then reduction balance I paid 35.20.Because of his attitude I walked out, he then decided he could look into it further. To late stop offering discounts for club cards, we have had a club card since day stated always thought we scanned it for fun as we never got anything in return looks like I was right. Last visit other big name nearer and friendlier plus no misleading gimmicks

Basically still a good store with a decent range of DIY and garden items, but the absence of manned tills is irksome, especially when there are staff standing by the self service tills to assist if you have a problem. Why not simply have these people man tills. Also up until recently if you bought something obviously heavy the staff would offer to get someone to help you load your purchase. This service seems to have disappeared. (And yes I bought something heavy and would have welcomed assistance)

Terrible customer service

Had multiple items some large some small, they never had a clue what order was going to be delivered when as all came on same order number. Customer service gave us wrong info re delivery. Complete disorganised chaos.
Even when the store who were great by the way, called customer service it was disastrous.

I am disabled and every time I have had a delivery from B&Q the drivers are polite, caring and nothing is too much trouble. I have had several deliveries now so I am sorry I don't have all the names. I would like to thank Daniel today in nottingham.
