Questions & Answers on China Visa Application in UK
Asked by Milla from UNITED KINGDOM | Apr. 27, 2024 10:50Reply
UK tourist visa
I would like to visit China with my two children in May with a friend and her two children.
The children are 14 and 11. Will they need a separate visa?
Can we do the application just online or do I have to go to a centre? We're based in Wales, so hoping not!

Yes, they also need a visa, and their birth certificates should be provided when submitting the application. And you have to go to the visa center.

Do we need to go to the centre with their father, so he can give permission for them to go without him? Or can he sign something that I can take with me?

Yes, the father should go together, and if he doesn't go personally, he need to provide a declaration of consent for the application of Chinese visa and authorization to the other parent to travel with the minor to China authenticated by Italian government.

do i need double entry visa
i am arriving in Beijing for group tour in mainland china which includes few days in Hong Kong. My flight home from HK routes via Beijing and onto UK. I know I need a tourist visa for the trip but is single entry visa correct as my re-entry from HK is purely in transit? Do i need a transit visa as well as tourist visa on the application form?

You only need one tourist visa on an application form as your re-entry to Beijing for a transit allows you enjoy the 24 or 144-hour visa-free transit.

No, you can only stay in one allowed city during the 144-hour visa-free transit.

transit visa
Hello, I'm travelling from the UK to Malaysia through China (Shenzhen) on a connecting flight with a layover of 5 hours (same route for the flight back to the UK). I'm a resident of the UK with a Tunisian passport, do I need to apply for a G visa (transit) even if all 4 flights are with the same company and I will not be leaving the airport?
Thank you

Generally, you are eligible for the 24-hour visa-free transit and no visa is needed.

Thank you for your reply.
I’ve checked and it said about 56 countries are eligible for 24 hours visa free stay but my country was not on the list and this is why I am not sure if I actually need to apply in this case.

Don't worry, only 72/144-hour visa-free transit has a strict rule and only people from 54 countries are eligible. As for 24 hours visa-free transit, it is okay for nearly all the nationalities.
