New Hot Shots Golf/Everybody's Golf/Minna Golf Beta Test

There is going to be a beta test for the new Hot Shots Golf game between May 26-28. You can download an entry application on the Japanese PSN store. Also when they announced this part of the reason they are doing the beta is because they are doing a worldwide server. This is the first official announcement from Clap Hanz that the servers would be combined and is great news for us. Now we should be able to find a game at any time. People mentioned this in the release date announcement thread but I figured "new news, new thread". Here is a link with all the info and a link to the download ticket on the Japanese store.

Yup apparently the japanese beta announcement talk about a wordwide test. Still hoping to see a double announcement soon on the EU/US blog about the beta and the release date of the game.

I wouldn't be too surprised if they added a VR mode later. Sony already made them do that once with Hot Shots 5 and they added move support 2 years after the game had already come out.

So has anyone heard anything yet regarding the EU/NA beta test?

I have previous EG playtime on my account and have even preordered the new game. Surely I stand a fair chance of an invite

I presume that there'll be a friendlier means of getting in than jumping through hoops on the JPN store

People should hear if they got into the Japan beta on May 11 next week. Hopefully we will hear about the US/EU people getting in at the same time.

I still have no idea how people are picked for these.

Only closed Betas I've gotten into have been PS3 Warhawk back in the day & The Tomorrow Children... and I have no idea how I was chosen for either.

Apparently Sony Europe started sending out emails for people to sign up for the closed beta within the last couple of days. I have not heard anything about Sony Japan or U.S. sending anything out yet.

cool i don't have a ps4 but i'll have to steal my brother's to play this lol
i also read you can drive golf carts around now? interesting
i wish i knew where my PSP charger and memory sticks were i could really go for some HSG (or tennis) right now

Probably should have used a EU PSN account to sign up for the EU beta and not my Canadian account.

Maybe I have a Japan invite waiting in my work email.

Be nice to see how to get a US invite.

My favorite golf game franchise of all time. I was one of the only folks playing it at PSX a year or two ago; one of devs had to play with me lol. What it always gets right for me is the laid back and relaxed atmosphere of playing golf with friends. Great game to play with some brews too!

I see a couple of people on Twitter in the US have gotten their codes. "Closed Online Test" will run from May 26 12AM PDT - May 29 12AM PDT.

Invite came with a theme too:

Add me to the list of people begging for extra codes. I don't care if it's a U.S. Euro, Japan or Hong Kong code I can use it. I also believe that I am doing the OT for the game based on the OT thread in gaming community. I am really curious how U.S playstation decided who to give codes to since they never did a sign up. GRRRRRR

I preordered Everybody's Golf already on psn (us). Wish Sony would send me a code...

Oh goodie, looks like they gave it to randoms and not a sign up page or for preordering, or anything that even remotely resembles rewarding hardcore fans or an attempt to market the beta to drive preorders.

SIEA must actively hate the game because it isn't theirs or something.

I wonder if the game if account locked like a game you bought with real money or not. I remember there was a gaf thread where people were taking turns signing into an account for the PS4 firmware beta when they introduced boost mode. I wonder if something like that could happen?

I remember doing that with the God of War 3 demo god like almost 10 years ago now. Demo's had unlimited licenses and people just created dummy accounts, put the beta in it, and passed it around.

If anyone gets a code and is willing to try this out, inbox me. I have multiple accounts from trying to get into this beta and could set one up as a community account.

it is weird how they've handled this for the US compared to EU/JP
