Looking purchase or swap for this. CONUS.

It's okay but the "almond" in here comes across as cherry on my skin. It's not as smooth as Essence Absolue and it doesn't have any edge to balance the sweetness. This was not made for me.

I've had this for such a long time but never wear it. Someone else will adore it. Decluttered.

Creamy_ambrette

Has anyone been able to compare the golden bottle 2013 version to the iridescent 2009 version? It’s doesn’t seem to be different. I adore AEA and I heard that Alien Liqueur was more different than Alien Taste of Fragrance- which I can only find for $$$! I was fortunate to win an auction for this version of Alien Liqueur for a fair price! It’s also annoying the 2009 version looks IDENTICAL to Alien TTOF! Hard to tell them apart without seeing the box or bottom label.

WolfQueen626

Alien but creamier. Smells like if you layered alien with hypnotic poison by Dior, or amaretto with alien. Almond note comes through nicely, tones down a bit of the original alien’s sharp scent while still maintaining silage and longevity. Recommend if you can find a reasonably priced bottle.

Mistress Eva

There are so many different versions of Alien that it is nearly impossible to have tried them all. However, I have four, and have tried several others. Out of all the ones I’ve tried so far, this is my favorite. This one is exceptional. I don’t always agree with Fragrantica’s ratings, but there's a reason this one has a high rating.

Liqueur de Parfum consists of familiar Alien DNA but with a silky-smooth, creamy almond liquor accord. It is luxurious and decadent and absolutely hypnotic. This has been a favorite in my collection for a long time. Too bad it’s hard to find these days.

SailorV

It's really a shame that Mugler doesn't do flanker lines like Liqueurs de Parfum anymore. Both Angel and Alien from this collection are wonderful. I have had this Alien for several years and just bought the Angel a couple of months ago. They're getting hard to find and expensive, but if you spot them at a semi-decent price and know the original pillar fragrances, they are safe blind-buys.

This is unmistakably an Alien flanker, but all the cool, hard edges of the original are softened and warmed up, without making the fragrance any weaker. It's similar to Essence Absolue in that regard, but they are different enough to own both.
You can still smell Alien's signature blend of abstract, otherworldly fantasy jasmine and golden amber. The added notes of almond and cashmeran make the scent creamier. The further it dries down, the more of the gourmand almond tones are detactable. True to its name this also has a boozy facet, reminiscent of rum, but also amaretto. I get more "liqueur" from this one than from Angel Liqueur.
I think this is a very glamorous scent, perfect for evening use, but not limited to that. The booziness makes it a little less cuddly and more lively than Essence Absolue, but due to the sweet creaminess it still feels cocooning and warm.

Cherrycardinal

Dang I miss this stuff, this and le gout were great and even nostalgic for me because I was in my adolescent years when my 3 favorite alien editions were released, which I think entirely improve on the original (this, le gout, and essence absolue which are basically siblings). It was one of my autumn/winter go-tos and one of the designer fragrances that got me interested in exploring further into niche brands.

Thankfully I was able to get a bottle of essence absolue before it got discontinued. What I liked about liqueur compared to those other two is that it had an almond sweetness and zing that made it more neutral for daytime. I hope the new mugler team eventually makes something on par with these.

To the person below: unfortunately there aren't any current releases that have the liqueur note that distinguishes this one. Maybe eau sublime could be a distant cousin because it shares a similar zing

muneerah

Can anyone recommend one of the alien flankers that is the closest to this :) my bottle is almost empty and i need it in my collection now and forever

Danielle79

I found this on eBay without the box and at a great price. For some time I've wanted to try this so I snatched it up. So happy I did because I love it! It starts off as a beautiful rummy Jasmine I can even smell that cherry almond scent you get from almonds so yummy! I also get some other floral and some amber for sure.

Finally the dry down which takes forever to get to but so worth it is this thick golden cherry almond woody delight. It had a touch of jasmine. Its sublime so gorgeous I love it so much I found an 09 bottle of this or the first Alien LDP and I hope they come out with another version of this it would be great if there was a permanent rummy Alien flanker. I know I'd buy it :)

This juice is wonderful it lasts for almost a day. This perfume is super strong and has excellent sillage which I like in my scents. I'm glad I have absolue for daily use but I do hope a permanent boozy alien will come in my lifetime. A girl can dream anyway if you can get your hands on it I recommend it. It is a lovely fragrance that I cannot stop sniffing if you wear og Alien and absolute you will most probably love this as well.

greyhoundmom

Another nice, "dark" Alien flanker in the same vein as Essence Absolue and Taste of Fragrance/Le Gout du Parfum. That being said, it is basically interchangeable between all of them. It's not worth it to own all three because they are all nearly identical. Liqueur has a sweet maraschino cherry vibe from the almond but it's so faint that it could be mistaken for a lighter version of Absolue's boozy vanilla.

Aura de le Fae

@EnkeliNL Yes!! Aura with Absinthe would be out of this world! Please Mugler make an Aura Liqueur de Parfum.

EnkeliNL

By far my favorite Alien flanker. It's stunning.

Rich, creamy, comforting, gourmand Bourbon vanilla, a hint of buttery almond, seductive amber for the slight animalic touch, and some floral notes which are much subtle than the EdP or Absolue versions.

This is absolutely edible. Like French almond and vanilla custard pastries served in an blossoming orchard, with delicate jasmine tea. Yet, the animalic notes make it complex and it's deffo more than only gourmand.

A true masterpiece.

I do wonder what a Liqueur version of Aura would be like... Mugler fairies, if you are reading me...

slavka.filipova

This is just my lovely one! I just got this one and it is amazing, i wear on my wrist for 7 hours now and i cannot stop smelling my arm, just so sexy, cozy, warm and sweet. I can't get enough!!! I love essence absolue too and this remind of essence very much.
I am searching for back up i hope i find it somewhere soon. LOVE it!!! And the bottle is just so gorgeous!

The original Alien is way too sharp on me but this is a treasure. I have a bottle of this one and a decant of Absolue. Yes they are similar but they have subtle differences that can make you like one but love the other. I like Absolue but I love this one.

This one is more boozy and smooth and the Jasmin is less sharp. Where Absolue has a rather thick and warm ambery dry down, this one is less warm but very smooth and more almondy. I think this one has a more distinctive development as well. I just love it. Very good for a cold day!

RaeGoLightly

Wow! I love Absolue and while similar, this has a richer, buttery scent. The dry down has these warm, creamy, buttery musk. I don't smell the jasmine sticking around as much as I do with Absolue. I think of a rich, vanilla bourbon. If anyone has ever tasted 43, a rich, smoky vanilla liquor, this smells how that tastes, with jasmine in the background. I can see a buttery rum vibe. It makes me very curious now about the 2009 version.

I will edit this post if the dry down changes. But imagine Absolue drying down, but more buttery and rich. I will be sad if I can't find this in the future. But comforted that Absolue is similar, but I certainly will miss the warm, comforting booze. I can see this playing quite well with cocoa butter lotion...which I bought for Absolue.

Edit: wow, I love this more than Absolue. Absolue doesn't have the depth or warmth. Maybe I'll change after the dry down but I don't see it right now. I still love Absolue but love this more because it lacks the "plastic" that Alien and Absolue seem to possess. I never noticed it before. The otherworldly jasmine is in the background with this one, in the middle with Absolue, and in front with Alien.

Edit again, 6 hours later: Absolue has a tinge more of the Jassy sharpness but the dry down is similar with the Liqueur is warmer. Absolue carries more sweetness while this carries richness. It took Absolue to get there faster than Liqueur. Love so much, I ordered a backup.

Last edit tonight.. Liqueur takes long to have the dry settled, baeutiful dry down. It is, to me, more of a boozy, soft, envious stroll. While this and Absolue are similar, this is Asolue kissed by a midnight, warmly scented cocktail. I had a friend who got a divorce and called me over in tears.. She was wore Shalimar. But that night, she got herself blitzed with Amaretto Disaronna. Like her breath fumes mixed with her perfume. I think she sprayed more after putting on what was now, smeared lipstick.

The heady perfume and this sweetness was her scent...a beaughtiful, sad girl. . This beautiful, sensuous, drunk lady. We've all either been there, are are extremely lucky, or maybe, not remembering. But when we are opposite, warm, inviting...we Menotti share with our friends.

This is like Absolue was happy and got drunk. On something buttery, rich and warming. Like I would picture my beaughtiful friend gets indulged some on vanilla rummy sipping concoction, with its scent mixing with Absolue. Waiting For a warm embrace. And I doubt she would call a friend at that moment.

Gigi The Fashionista

For me this is the best in the Alien line. I have the original Alien in the purple bottle but I hardly wear it. This has the same jasmine and woods scent but there are other floral scents that give it more complexity. There is also a touch of almond and cashmere as well as deep gold amber. It feels sexy, seductive, exotic. I wear it when I go out on dates and used to wear it when I went to night clubs. A fragrance to wear while drinking and dancing. Something about it (maybe the fact it's called Liqueur de Parfum, literally Perfume Liquor) makes it intoxicating and boozy like having had too much to drink. I drink this perfume and love it. It's a party fragrance, New Years Eve fragrance. Strong, and lasts all day or night. I love the bottle and the color. I hope they haven't discontinued this fragrance. Mine is nearly finished and I would like a new one. Highly recommended.

edlih

I also have both, essence absolue and alien liqueur 2013, I also think they smell a bit the same, but I love them and I get (for both) many compliments when I wear them, I personally love also the original alien and I enjoy the smell on me, for me they are family, like sisters but not as twins, I smell a remarkable difference. I have Angel and flankers and alien and flankers, I am considering of buying Womanity but I am a bit reluctant because I read some reviews which claim it has a "salt" vibe...I don't know if I would like that

i)rose

Perfection for me. It's warm, sensual, gourmand and floral, dark and light at the same time. Makes me think of a sophisticated light slippery satin gown glowing in the evening. It makes a strong impression but does not overwhelm. It's sexy, definitely sexy but in an elegant kind of way.
One guy, a stranger was so mesmirized by this he had to ask me what it is I'm wearing that smells so good. Alien. Otherworldly, obviously. I like this version of Alien best. Wish it wasn't just a limited edition.

CindySwede

Can somebody please tell me the difference between this Alien Liqueur and the one that was made in 2009??
I really would like to purchase a bottle of this perfume, but it strikes me a bit odd that rum is not listed as a note in the 2013 version. Are the two Alien Liqueurs not the same?

lilymorena

I have the one from the picture here above. It smells like alien essence absolue but indeed less sweet and less vanille. The DNA alien is present and stronger then in absolue. Both are wonderful scents but if I must choose one of these two I would choose alien absolue (somehow softer and beter for day use).

pixiewinks

Oh my gosh, this is uuuuh can't find the words or stop smelling my arm...intoxicating, lush, dreamy. I didn't think alien could get better, I was a fool I say! Very Alien but smoother...alien with delicious almonds...wow I want to make love wearing this fragrance or make love to it, not sure which. Oh Mugler, you are a master. This version is supreme and I must have it.

First off I'll start by saying I LOVE this and the beautiful gold bottle! I also love the original Alien, I find this version slightly smoother and sweeter with less of the menthol vibe on the opening. But for me the biggest difference is the longevity, of course we all know original Alien has great longevity and sillage but for me this gold little jewel even outlasts the original. 4 sprays, 2 on neck and 2 on clothes and it last 12hours +. I applied this amount one morning before a day of shopping, 6 hours in and a lady said to her friend 'someone's wearing Alien' and I was 10 maybe 15 feet away from her. It just lingers and creates a cloud around you, maybe it just works better on my skin compared to the original but I just feel the performance is far superior :-). The only downside I will say is that it only comes in 30ml bottles, I would love to purchase a larger bottle but have to just purchased a back up bottle instead :-)

born for shalimar

Is there s difference with the almond drydown between the 2009 edition and the 2013 special edition .im looking for those almonds.thanks

Juliana6

This is about the 2013 version.
This is Beautiful ( yes, with the capital letter)- very sophisticated, golden, carefully and attentively made with love and special attitude. Very, very, very long lasting.
The opening is like the regular Alien, but sweeter, thicker, more golden, more rounded. Like opened arms waiting to embrace you.
Then comes something slightly alcoholic, woody, still warm, cozy with a hint of something comforting masculine. The regular Alien vibe is still here -recognizable, but not dominant. The scent has embraced you, now it keeps you tight against it's "body" and whispers in your ear how beautiful and wonderful you are. On the box, I red the scent has been aged in toasted oak casks, and I can really feel that aromatic, woody, sensual note, I've discovered only here.
And the base- a wonderful, deep, oily, mysterious (again- it's the regular Alien vibe, warm and refreshing in the same time) potion. The perfume develops a very special, close relationship with you - now and forever. When I wear it, I feel beautiful and special (even if I'm wearing my nightgown) and safe. Safe, protected.. like every woman wants to be. Safe together with her beloved. That's the perfume!

I'm sure someone has written this somewhere in all these posts, but for those of you who don't read them all..........I'll say it again. This is a monster. I absolutely LOVE strong fragrances and this one is near the top. It smells divine, don't get me wrong. Please just remember 1-2 sprays or a walk through for this one. Then it will be absolutely perfect!

lovepie

I don't think I can follow up the difference anymore, for what I know it could be just Alien in a strong concentrate. But, all of them are amazing!

zind

This was a blind buy, I initially thought I bought the other Alien liquer. Why on earth give two different version the same name? Well, anyway, just as well I made that mistake or I might have missed it entirely!

This is very delicious and mmmmmmmmmm... The opening is pretty masculine on my skin (I do love unisex'ish perfumes though!). My boyfriend thought it was very motherly. I don't know about that, but I do know I find it quite mature and heavy. I was a bit disappointed at first, thinking I should have bought a big bottle of alien absolute instead of this one, but it has grown on me and once it settles a bit it does have a little more "omph" to it than absolute. They are quite similar, but there they do NOT smell the same. This one is more complex, more flowery and woody than absolute which I find to be creamier and heavy on the vanilla. I think I'll need a proper bottle of both of them, they are so delicious in their own unique way!

Rawannnna

Wow, this perfume is just wow. I been testing Alien and its flankers for ages, this one is one of the best flankers of alien and way too superior to its original perfume.

The amber in the dry down is so good and real, like the one in SL perfumes. The dry down is to die for, for sure.

The heart is so refreshing with Jasmine - strong alien vibe- and other woods that soften the original formula, it starts out with the fizzy rum note that continue to the dry down to harmonize the perfume.

One of the best perfumes of TM and actually my first of this house. highly recommend.

EternityFresh

A beautifully made perfume! I have the original Alien and the Sunessence which I love and now I added this Alien Liqueur which is truly fabulous. The buttery rum mixes with the powdery almond and subtle flowers in a strong yet delicate and sultry way. Very sexy indeed

andreeasimona

A mai fost in editie limitata pentru ca eu mi l-am cumparat din Galeriile Lafayette , pParis in 2010. Foarte frumos!

RoRoSe

very nice, different from the original & fresher than (Essence Absolue version).

well done, adding rum was a perfect idea to renew the soul of (Alien)

2746cstreet

This is the first Alien flanker that I've thought might be worth purchasing in a while.
It's got the strong jasmine backbone of the original, but overlaid with a strong "rootbeer" note ala Tabu. The wood notes are also more pronounced to my nose, with a less syrupy amber.
The "rootbeer" note I'd have to imagine is the rum. Actually it smells more like sasparilla.

Ouch!

I got this recently and while it's still gorgeous and alien and all things Sambac jasminey, there really isn't much of a striking difference between this and the original.

The main differences are the slightly richer/sharper opening from the rum, and the MUCH sweeter dry down. There is much more difference between original and Taste Of Fragrance. This one doesn't feel different enough to be ANOTHER limited edition.

Other than that? it's just Alien.

I'm sticking to the original and will use this one up first.

naaym.agecra

I Love It! It settles down on my skin really niceeee esp. when my body gets warm. I find this perfume sensual♥

katrin1128

This is original Alien with rum added and without that harsh note that I find in the original. It's nothing like Absolue either. The top notes are rum and oak, then it settles into amber, and finishes with just the oak. Of course the jasmine is prevalent throughout. This is my favorite Alien.

AveParfum

Another stunning gourmand from Thierry Mugler. This Liqueur opens with a strong note of buttered rum, which dissipates too fast, darn! Just as I expect (or maybe hope for the sake of my wallet) to lose interest, the next "wave" of edibles starts up. My nose may be deceiving me, but I swear I smell almonds and even some fruit. It's a scrumptious danish pastry filled with vanilla custard, marzipan, and macerated sweet cherry. So unbelievably tantalizing, I had to purchase it.

I smell more florals here than in the Absolue. This one is creamy as well, but I find the Essence Absolue to be truly the creamiest of the Alien flankers, with a gorgeous vanilla drydown.

Update: Now that I own it and can spray to my heart's content, I find this flanker to be clearly woodier than the Absolue or the Taste of Fragrance. The gourmand phase doesn't last very long, so I find it to be the least gourmand of the three. It does kind of smell like it has been sitting in a wooden barrel for a while. It's not intensely woody, but I can clearly smell wood. I like its mellow vibe and will enjoy wearing this when I don't feel like smelling like vanilla custard or caramel. Sillage seems softer than the others as well, but it's still very good.

judyk

I wore my 2009 Alien LdP (Thierry-Mugler/Alien-Liqueur-de-Parfum-6732.html) today and just now I tested a recently acquired sample of this 2013 version. My first thought was, "OMG, this has got oud in it!" I don't suppose it is oud but there's definitely something different about this one. Maybe the contents of my old bottle have mellowed a bit over the past four years, but it's sweeter and smoother than the 2013. I don't dislike this one, far from it! It's just a bit different - woodier, I'd say.

fullbottleworthy

I am so glad I got my hands on this!! I have the previous Alien Liqueur de Parfum version, and I can tell you this one is definitely different. It's still a little boozy but a totally different vibe. Honestly I felt there were so many stages to this perfume that I was just perplexed the entire time. I can't recall another perfume that seemed to morph as frequently as often as this one. At first I loved the boozy, classic Alien vibe right off the bat. There was no mistaking it as Alien. After a few minutes, as the middle notes emerged, I got a distinct cherry almond pastry vibe that I was REALLY digging and made me consider a full bottle. But a couple hours later the scent had a very cold, almost medicinal quality to it, reminiscent of Thierry Mugler's Miroir de Secrets. As I sniffed my arms in those last few hours, the only thing I kept thinking was baby powder, baby powder, and more baby powder. It was bizarre, as I don't get that from any other Alien. I thought, no, I must be mistaken. But sure enough, I kept sniffing on and off for a couple hours and there it was, baby powder. A disappointing end to what had started off as a delightful olfactory journey. Unfortunate since I would never consider purchasing a fragrance with unappealing base notes. I thought I liked this more than the previous Liqueur version, but now after wearing it for over 9 hours (it's barely hanging in there, but I can still smell it) I think I like the previous version better.

ms.devine

I've only just started to wear perfume and I wear Alien Absolute everyday. I love it and get compliments on it every single day. It's my signature fragrance. I visited Selfridges yesterday and although this LE version is sold out, I tried a sample of Alien Absolute and I instantly got a rush of boozy rum. Still smells like my favourite fragrance but with a hint of rum. I can tell the difference... however it is subtle. I like it but I just don't know if it's worth a perchase when I'm leaning towards purchaing something completely new.

valda.pacekajutepetrulene

Hey,
I am looking for it so bad! any ideas where can you find it in Canada?

marekkalinowski

Just been to Selfridges in London and smelled all of them . angel is the only one smelling slightly different to the original A.L. quite nice though. Alien ,Womanity and A*Man smell exactly the sameas they originals. I know people are saying - 'no they are different becase it says in the description' rubbish my friends. I love Thierry M.a lot and i do weare his stuff most days.but enough is enough, Rerelising 'new' flankers every 6 month just keeps them ( Clarins )going.
What i want to point out is the look of the bottles, not good at all. they look very cheap and chaildish and the plastic is like from the fair ground. They skimmed on the finish- shame. Won't be buying any of those i m afraid despite having most of T.M. fragrance. Thats all folks. try before you buy - my advise

asher.jessie

...No, these are all new flankers. Not the same as the releases before.

I'm sick of telling people this, when it's clearly explained in the article that these are new reinvisioned versions of the original liqueur fragrances.

diabolicalsister

Does anyone know if this the same Alien Liqueur de Parfum from 2009, in a new bottle?

beauty_girl

The bottle looks like my Alien Sunessence Edition Limitee 2011 Or d`Ambre, that is also golden irl. But this bottle is smaller that Alien Sunessence Edition Limitee 2011 Or d`Ambre.
