• Motorise a train using Power Functions

Compiled by PeteM. Updated 10 April 2015. Contains 4 sets.
The bare minimum required to convert a train to power functions. There are other non- essentials, such as lights, extension cables, polarity reversers (potentially useful if operating more than one motor on a single train) but these can be added at your leisure.

Bricklist notes
I use this AAA battery box for my sets - they're not generally running for hours on end or that regularly. There is an alternative in #8884 rechargeable box and #8887 transformer, which offer a bit more battery life and easier repowering (no need to remove the box when its flat), but those two come to over £60 in total.

Bricklist notes
With two control wheels, and to transmit on 4 different channels, you could theoretically control eight separate trains from this remote!
