I understand that Microsoft studios funded most of the development of this game, but I would still like to give my hats off to the true developers at Square Unix and Crystal Dynamics for the development of this game. I have been a fan of tomb raider for quite a while although the first one I bought was in 2013 when Laura’s origin story (at least one of them) was told. At that time I was impressed by the amount of realism and physics that was put into the game. I got this game on my birthday hoping that this will top the last game. Needless to say, I have never been as satisfied as I am now with it. From the moment I hit that start button, I could not let go of my controller as it would continuously shake in accordance with the actions taking place on the screen. Is it a little repetitive? Perhaps, but I guess we would expect a little bit of repetition in this title as with any other game (I’m talking about you Ubisoft and Assassins Creed).

Physics:
The physics are pretty flawless, with exceptions of the snow not in sync with the footsteps by Laura or any of the crew members and the enemies.

Particle effects:
In my point of view, particle effects can either make a game incredible, or it can easily make it a flop show. Rise of the tomb raider brought this to my attention as the particle effects worked in tune with the environment.

Lighting:
I did not have much problems with calibrating my display to match the gameplay style. I know weak starting point lol. For a first go, I have to say I am impressed with the style of lighting used to simulate the sensations of agony, pain, and and even happiness.

Story:
My favorite style of adventure video games have been those who have a story to tell. In tomb raider 2013, the story was easy to follow, and I looked forward for this title to continue to excel in this area. However, this is where I feel a little laggy about, because as it turns out, I couldn’t really follow some of the storyline as the game moves along.

Overall:
I give my hats off to Square Unix and Crystal Dynamics for this title. Tomb raider has come a long way from when it was first released. I am honestly surprised with the lighting, particle effects, and the physics engine. Coming from an amateur but rising game developer, I feel that there is a lot of potential in this game. I honestly hope this game wins the game of the year award, after Assassins Creed Syndicate that is. Good job guys, and I hope the next title will be even better.

This another great Tomb Raider game that is a must get for people who are fans of the action adventure genre. I am not the biggest Tomb Raider fan as I have not seen an entire movie and never finished or seriously played any of the old Tomb Raider games. When the series was rebooted and I saw some of the gameplay and pictures of the graphics I was excited and picked it up at launch. That game was great and it had amazing graphics and fun gameplay that was just a more fun experience than the Assassins Creed and Uncharted franchises. This sequel to that game is just a bigger and better game where they have some of the best graphics in any xbox one or ps4 game. Would definitely recommend you pick this game as its one of the best games of 2015.

I had never played a Tomb Raider game before but after playing Rise of the Tomb Raider I am going to go back and play them all! This game has turned me into a huge Tomb Raider fan. Lara Croft is seriously one of the coolest characters I've ever played. All I will say about the story is that it was entertaining and kept me wanting more! The graphics are stunning, it's a game where the gameplay looks just as beautiful as the cut scenes. Rise of the Tomb Raider is a wonderfully challenging adventure with puzzling challenges, fun to use weapons, tools, and so much more. My one and only complaint is that I beat it in 3 days. I wish it was longer! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an incredible adventure game for the Xbox with a great story and great characters!

I absolutely loved this gave. used to be a hardcore gamer, but with work travel and twins I only get to play about 3-5 hrs a week if lucky. LETS JUST SAY I 100% completed this game. story is great, game-play is great, and this price was excellent. I already owned the game and purchased a second copy to gift recommend to a friend. great mix of action, adventure, smart puzzle mechanics, RPG elements, and highly repayable. Lara is a machine, and her arsenal is great when updated, you can play the game strait, or back and fourth to collect items. smart level desing in which you can go backwards or forward in every level. with the environment knowing what you have completed and adjusting accordingly. THIS IS A MUST BUY. YOU WONT REGRET IT. and will absolutely love it. BRING ON THAT DLC Content!!

I love the Lara Croft series. I think it is one of the best in all of gaming history. This game however feels very incomplete after the 40% mark. It suddenly and without reason turns into a shooter game. Up till this point you were looking for tombs and artifacts while occasionally shooting the bad guys. It is like the developers got lazy or ran out of time and just gave up. Where before the 40% mark you couldn't walk very far without encountering a interactive object. After 40% you can run for ever and not come a crossed anything. Very disappointing.

Disappointed with this sequel. Previous game was far better. Also this one seemed to have more gun fights. Little more puzzle solving would have made the game better.

Really impressed with this game. It's a bit... frenetic (I think might be a good word) and you need to be on your toes but the overall design, artwork, performance and control scheme are really fantastic. I own the Xbox One version, and just bought my One recently... and compared to the slew of new games I bought (Halo 5, CoD BO III, Destiny TTK, Disney Infinity 3.0, Forza 6) so far this is my favorite.

It's a great mix of adventure, role play, action and general exploration with crafting that really stands apart given todays fixation on shooters and zombie Apocalypse titles.
